The bell over the front door sounded at the same time Bud made his disappearance, leaving Katie with the uneasy feeling that this was the turning point. She looked towards the door, and a radiant smile crossed her face as she watched Jacob walked through the door. Bud watched from the kitchen doors window as Katie rose to meet Jacob. He studied Jacob's face, taking in the spark in his eye that showed desire, and a little something more. Bud laughed to himself as he turned away. “Yeah, I know just how you feel boy. Better hope Katie gives in soon, or it's going to be one hell of a chase.”
