Digging Deeper: LGBT Books and Me

bannerlgbt

Since, I started reading YA, I was never particularly interested in LGBT books. I was just not into reading about boy/boy or girl/girl relationships. But now I know it’s not as simple as that. If it was, it’d be really, really boring.

I’ve never considered myself homophobic *cough*an asshole *cough*, but some years ago, I did feel unconfortable about two people of the same gender kissing or making gooey eyes at each other. It was like when you see people kissing right in front of you and you...

We Were Meant to Be: On Romance Plots

I love books that revolve around romance, kissing, some hand-holding, more kissing, ass-kicking, good ol’ sexual tension and all those shenanigans. After reading tons of these books, the romance plots, or subplots, depending on the book, start being categorized in my mind. Mainly, in two groups: The We-were-meant-to-be one, and the Nice-n-Slow.

To be more specific:

We Were Meant to Be

Tiger's Curse Starcrossed_Angelini

Basically, when it’s stated that the two characters belong to way better and it’s more than something they...

I Ship… Lydia and Stiles -Teen Wolf

A while ago, I watched an episode of Teen Wolf, and… I didn’t like it. But a week ago, a friend of mine made me watch the first season and now I can’t wait to get to the third one. I love the dynamics between the characters and there’re two boys in particular that have stolen my heart: Stiles and Derek. :3 (There’s a ship with these two XD) Stiles because the main character, Scott is too stupid to see what one hell of a friend he’s got; because he’s one of the smartest characters in the serie...

Writing Ideas: The Tale of the Tale

tale

Every writer out there had a beginning. Whether the inspiration came from a book, a movie, or just plain real life. All those ideas came from somewhere. I know many of us are stuck in some part of the writing progress (For you guys who are not, may you embrace your muse -or the other way around). I was thinking about how the hell did I get here on the first place, and that gave me the little nudge I needed in order to get back on track. Yes, 100 words is not much in the grand scheme of thin...

Review: This Shattered World, by Amie Kaufman/Meagan Spooner

Forbidden Love is my favorite. There’s just something special about reading about two people who should hate their guts but instead want to eat each other’s faces. InThis Shattered World, not only are Lee and Flynn in opposite sides...
