Haz bien a los que se Oponen a ti

 

“Amen a sus enemigos! Hagan bien a quienes los odian. Bendigan a quienes los maldicen. Oren por aquellos que los lastiman. Si alguien te da una bofetada en una mejilla, ofrécele también la otra mejilla. Si alguien te exige el abrigo, ofrécele también la camisa ” (Lucas 6:27-29 NTV).

Cuando eres perseguido, acosado o te enfrentas a una oposición, debes responder con una bendición.

Jesús dice en Lucas 6:27-29: “¡Amen a sus enemigos! Hagan bien a quienes los odian. Bendigan a quienes los maldicen. Oren por aquellos que los lastiman. Si alguien te da una bofetada en una mejilla, ofrécele también la otra mejilla. Si alguien te exige el abrigo, ofrécele también la camisa” (NTV).

Quien hace eso No hay mucha gente, realmente. Es lo que distingue a los cristianos, porque no es una respuesta natural, popular o fácil.

¡Se necesita mucho valor para hacer esas cosas! Cualquiera puede tomar represalias o decir algo malo.

Dios quiere que ames a tus enemigos, que hagas el bien a los que te odian, que bendigas a los que te maldigan, que ores por los que te lastiman y que pongan la otra mejilla. ¿Es eso fácil? No. Es la forma más poderosa de testimonio, pero solo puedes hacerlo llenándote del amor de Dios.

La película “El mayordomo” muestra cómo los Jinetes de la Libertad, que lucharon contra el racismo en el Sur durante el Movimiento por los Derechos Civiles, entrenaron a las personas a no tomar represalias cuando fueron golpeadas, escupidas, maldecidas, empujadas o cuando las personas les arrojaban comida. Es una escena intensamente poderosa de tomar una postura no violenta.

Mientras miraba esa escena, las lágrimas comenzaron a caer por mi cara. Pensé: “Quiero ser esa clase de persona para Jesús. Quiero ser tan valiente. Quiero tener un corazón de coraje que no ceda ante lo que está mal, no importa lo que me tiren. Y quiero responder con amor”.

Cuando te niegas a tomar represalias y en cambio respondes con amor en el trabajo o con alguien que no te quiere, Dios estará complacido. Y vas a ser bendecido.

“Dios bendice a los que son perseguidos por hacer lo correcto, porque el reino del cielo les pertenece. Dios los bendice a ustedes cuando la gente les hace burla y los persigue y miente acerca de ustedes y dice toda clase de cosas malas en su contra porque son mis seguidores. ¡Alégrense! ¡Estén contentos, porque les espera una gran recompensa en el cielo! Y recuerden que a los antiguos profetas los persiguieron de la misma manera.” (Mateo 5:10-12 NTV).

Jesús pagó un precio por ti. Él dice que hay un precio que pagar por seguirlo. La popularidad en la Tierra no es parte de la garantía de ser cristiano, pero su recompensa en el cielo es una garantía.

¿Cómo respondes a la idea de sufrir por Jesucristo? ¿Cómo afecta tu respuesta la forma en que manejas los insultos o la desaprobación?
¿Por qué responder con amor y no con represalias es la forma más poderosa de testimonio de Cristo?
¿Cómo has visto vidas cambiadas a través de enemigos que aman, orando por aquellos que hieren a otros y poniendo la otra mejilla?

Do Good to Those Who Oppose You

When you’re persecuted, harassed, or facing opposition, you need to respond with a blessing.

Jesus says in Luke 6:27-29, “Love your enemies! Do good to those who hate you. Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you. If someone slaps you on one cheek, offer the other cheek also. If someone demands your coat, offer your shirt also” (NLT).

Who does that? Not many people, actually. It’s what sets Christians apart, because it’s not a natural or popular or easy response.

It takes a lot of courage to do those things! Anyone can retaliate or say something mean back.

God wants you to love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who hurt you, and turn the other cheek. Is that easy? No. It’s the most powerful form of witness, but you can only do it by being filled with God’s love.

The movie The Butler shows how the Freedom Riders, who fought racism in the South during the Civil Rights Movement, trained people how to not retaliate when they were hit, spit on, cursed, pushed, or when people threw food at them. It’s an intensely powerful scene of taking a nonviolent stance.

As I watched that scene, tears started coming down my face. I thought, “I want to be that kind of person for Jesus. I want to be that brave. I want to have a heart of courage that won’t cave in to what’s wrong, no matter what they throw at me. And I want to respond with love.”

When you refuse to retaliate and instead respond in love at work or with somebody who doesn’t like you, God will be pleased. And you’re going to be blessed.

“God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs. God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers. Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven” (Matthew 5:10-12 NLT).

Jesus paid a price for you. He says there’s a price to be paid for following him. Popularity on Earth is not part of the guarantee of being a Christian, but your reward in heaven is a guarantee.

¿Quién es la verdadera fuente de Oposición?

“Humildemente, debe corregir a los adversarios. . . They have been trapped by the devil, and he makes them obey him, but God may help them escape” (2 Timoteo 2:25-26 NVI).

Cuando te enfrentas a la oposición a causa de tu fe, necesitas reconocer su origen.

No son las demás personas. No son tus compañeros de trabajo. No es un partido político. No es ninguna otra nación o religión. No es un competidor. La presión que sientes para rendirte o quedarte quieto o sentarte cuando deberías estar firme –esa presión no viene de otras personas. Realmente viene de Satanás.

En Apocalipsis 12:10. Satanás es llamado el acusador de los cristianos. Su trabajo número uno es derribarte.

Hay una batalla invisible alrededor tuyo. Esta presión para evitar que hagas lo correcto no viene en realidad de otras personas. Ellos solo son instrumentos. La mayoría del tiempo ni siquiera saben que están siendo utilizados. El verdadero problema es la batalla espiritual.

Efesios 6:12 dice, “Porque nuestra lucha no es contra seres humanos, sino contra … fuerzas espirituales malignas en las regiones celestiales” (CST).

Satanás sabe que es inútil atacar a Jesucristo directamente, así que, en lugar de eso ataca a los seguidores de Jesús. Él usa los medios de comunicación, la música, la cultura popular y cualquier cosa que pueda hacer para ridiculizar a quienes pertenecen a Jesús. Él está detrás de las voces diciendo: “Esos cristianos son obsoletos. Ellos están del lado equivocado de la historia. Ellos no saben de lo que están hablando. Son fanáticos”.

Si no tienes el Espíritu Santo en tu vida, entonces no tienes defensa contra Satanás. Él puede dominar tus estados de ánimo. Él puede hacerte entrar en depresión. Él puede hacerte enojar.

Puedes creer que eres fuerte, pero no lo suficiente para defenderte de los ataques de Satanás por tu propia cuenta. Lo que necesitas es reconocer el origen –el mal, no la persona- y tratar a la oposición de la misma manera que Jesús lo hizo.

¿Cómo trato Jesús a aquellos que se oponían a él? Incluso en la cruz dijo, “Padre, perdónalos. Porque no sabe lo que hacen”.

Las personas que te atacan no saben lo que están haciendo. ¿Las personas que menosprecian a Jesús y la iglesia y el cristianismo? Tampoco saben lo que están haciendo.

Al igual que Jesús, necesitas orar, también, “Padre, perdónalos” para que puedas demostrar amor aún bajo ataque y para que puedas tener más energía para pelear contra el verdadero enemigo.

Reflexiona sobre esto :

Si Satanás está detrás de las acciones equivocadas de las personas, ¿Por qué siguen siendo responsables ante Dios por lo que hacen?
¿Cuál es el efecto físico, emocional y espiritual en ti cuando eres capaz de perdonar a tus enemigos?
¿cuáles son tus áreas de debilidad que Satanás ataca más fácilmente? Pídele a Dios crecer en fe en esas áreas y te dé fuerza para permanecer firme.

Who’s the Real Source of Opposition?

When you face opposition because of your faith, you need to recognize its source.

It’s not other people. It’s not your coworkers. It’s not a political party. It’s not some other nation or religion. It’s not a competitor. The pressure you feel to cave in or be quiet or sit down when you should stand up—that pressure is not coming from other people. It’s really coming from Satan.

In Revelation 12:10 Satan is called the accuser of the Christians. His number one job is to put you down.

There is an unseen spiritual battle going on all around you. This pressure to keep you from doing the right thing is not really coming from other people. They’re just weapons. Most of the time they don’t even know they’re being used. The real issue is spiritual warfare.

Ephesians 6:12 says, “We are not fighting against human beings but against the wicked spiritual forces in the heavenly world” (GNT).

Satan knows it’s ineffective to attack Jesus Christ directly, so instead he attacks Jesus’ followers. He uses the media and music and popular culture and anything he can to ridicule those who belong to Jesus. He’s behind the voices saying, “Those Christians are out of date. They’re on the wrong side of history. They don’t know what they’re talking about. They’re bigots.”

Here’s what the Bible says you should do: “Stay away from stupid and senseless arguments. These only lead to trouble, and God’s servants must not be troublemakers. They must be kind to everyone, and they must be good teachers and very patient. Be humble when you correct people who oppose you . . . They have been trapped by the devil, and he makes them obey him, but God may help them escape” (2 Timothy 2:23-26 CEV).

If you don’t have the Holy Spirit in your life, then you have no defense against Satan. He can master your moods. He can lead you into depression. He can make you angry.

You may think you’re strong, but you’re not strong enough to fight Satan’s attacks on your own. What you need to do is recognize the source—the Devil, not the person—and treat the opposition the way Jesus did.

How did Jesus treat those who opposed him? Even on the cross he said, “Father, forgive them. They don’t know what they’re doing.”

The people who attack you don’t know what they’re doing. The people who put down Jesus and church and Christianity? They don’t know what they’re doing.

Just like Jesus, you need to pray, too, “Father, forgive them” so that you can show love even under attack and so you’ll have more energy to fight the real enemy.

Nunca te Avergüences por Defender la Verdad

 

“No es nada vergonzoso sufrir por ser cristianos. ¡Alaben a Dios por el privilegio de que los llamen por el nombre de Cristo!” (1 Pedro 4:16 NTV).

Nunca debes avergonzarte por defender la verdad y hacer lo correcto. La Biblia dice en 1 Pedro 4:16 “No es nada vergonzoso sufrir por ser cristianos. ¡Alaben a Dios por el privilegio de que los llamen por el nombre de Cristo!” (NTV).

Permíteme preguntarte algo: ¿Un insulto te va a matar? No. ¿Un desprecio te va a matar? No. ¿Qué alguien te ponga un apodo o te etiquete a causa de que estuviste firme por Cristo te va a lastimar? No.  ¿Alguien que te quiera trolear o intentar abatirte llevándote a una pelea te va a tirar? No. No te va a matar.

Es vital que entiendas una verdad que liberará tu vida: No necesitas la aprobación de otras personas para ser feliz.

Tal vez has estado intentando obtener la aprobación de ciertas personas durante muchos años. Odio decírtelo, pero si no la has obtenido hasta ahora, no la vas a obtener. ¡La buena noticia es que no lo necesitas! No necesitas la aprobación de nadie para ser feliz.

No importa lo que hagas en la vida, a alguien no le va a gustar. No puedes evitar la desaprobación. Así que, si vas a tener la desaprobación de la gente de cualquier forma, sería mejor tener la desaprobación al hacer las cosas correctas en vez de las incorrectas.

Es algo importante de recordar mientras enfrentas la oposición. Si la opinión de otras personas te importa más que la opinión de Dios, entonces vas a derrumbarte cuando esas personas te ataquen debido a tu fe en Jesús. Pero si te enfocas en Dios y en lo que sabes que es correcto, entonces puedes hacer una firme defensa.

“Manténganse firmes contra él [Satanás] y sean fuertes en su fe. Recuerden que su familia de creyentes[a] en todo el mundo también está pasando por el mismo sufrimiento” (1 Pedro 5:9 NTV).

¿Cómo tu deseo de aprobación afecta tu respuesta cuando tienes oportunidades de estar firme por Jesús y lo que es correcto?
¿Dónde puedes encontrar el ánimo que necesitas para permanecer firme cuando las personas se oponen a tu fe?
¿Por qué ayuda el saber que hay otros creyentes quien también están sufriendo por causa del evangelio?

Never Be Embarrassed for Standing for the Truth

You should never be embarrassed for standing for the truth and doing what’s right. The Bible says in 1 Peter 4:16, “It is no shame to suffer for being a Christian. Praise God for the privilege of being called by his name!” (NLT).

Let me ask you: Is an insult going to kill you? No. Is a putdown going to kill you? No. Is somebody calling you a name or labeling you because you’ve made a stand for Christ going to hurt you? No. Is some troll online who’s trying to bait you and get you in an argument going to take you down? No. It’s not going to kill you.

It’s vital that you understand a truth that will liberate your life: You don’t need other people’s approval to be happy.

You may have been trying to get the approval of a certain person for many years. I hate to tell you, but if you haven’t gotten it by now, you’re not going to get it. The good news is you don’t need it! You don’t need anybody’s approval in order to be happy.

No matter what you do in life, somebody’s not going to like it. You can’t avoid disapproval. So if you’re going to have people’s disapproval either way, you may as well have their disapproval for doing the right thing rather than the wrong thing.

This is important to remember as you face opposition. If other people’s opinions matter more to you than God’s opinion, then you’re going to crumble when those people attack you because of your faith in Jesus. But if you focus on God and what you know is right, then you can make a firm stand.

“Stand firm against [Satan], and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are” (1 Peter 5:9 NLT).

Cómo Dios usa el Duelo para Ayudarnos a Crecer

 

“Sabemos que Dios dispone todas las cosas para el bien de quienes lo aman” (Romanos 8:28 NVI).

El duelo, la pérdida y el dolor son una parte inevitable de la vida. ¿Pero sabías que Dios usa estas cosas para ayudarnos a crecer? Lo hace de tres maneras.

Primero, Dios usa el dolor para llamar nuestra atención. C. S. Lewis escribió: “Dios nos susurra en nuestros placeres, habla a nuestra conciencia, pero grita en nuestro dolor”. El dolor es el megáfono de Dios. Rara vez cambiamos cuando vemos la luz. Cambiamos cuando sentimos el calor.

Proverbios 20:30 dice, “A veces hace falta una experiencia dolorosa para hacernos cambiar”.

Segundo, Dios saca lo bueno de lo malo. Uno de los versos más famosos de la Biblia es Romanos 8:28: “Sabemos que Dios dispone todas las cosas para el bien de quienes lo aman”

Cuando experimentas una pérdida, es una oportunidad para crecer en carácter. No puedes controlar el dolor por el que pasas, pero puedes decidir si te llenara de amargura o te hará mejorar. Tú decides si va a ser un escalón o un obstáculo. Tienes que recordar que incluso en tu dolor, Dios está trabajando para tu bien.

Tercero, Dios nos prepara para la eternidad. La Biblia dice en: 2 Corintios 4:17-18 “Pues esta aflicción leve y pasajera nos produce un eterno peso de gloria que sobrepasa toda comparación al no poner nuestra vida en las cosas que se ven, sino en las cosas que no se ven; porque las cosas que se ven son temporales, pero las que no se ven son eternas” (NTV).

Probablemente me has escuchado decir antes que no vas a llevar tu auto al cielo. No vas a llevar tu porcelana o tu ropa al cielo; No vas a llevar tu carrera al cielo. Pero si vas a llevar tu carácter. Te estas llevando a ti

Dios está más interesado en desarrollar tu carácter que en tu comodidad. ¿Por qué? Porque puedes estar cómodo en el cielo, pero esta es la etapa de preparación. Esta es la etapa de aprendizaje. Este es el acto de entrenamiento. Dios usa tus problemas aquí en la Tierra para prepararte para una gloria eterna. Eso es un consuelo

Cuando estas en dolor, debes preguntar: “¿Qué está haciendo Dios?” ¿Él está tratando de llamar tu atención? ¿Está tratando de sacar lo bueno de lo malo? ¿Está Él preparando tu carácter para el cielo?

¿Qué significa que Dios está trabajando para algo bueno? ¿Significa que Dios solo deja que las cosas buenas les sucedan a los creyentes?
¿Por qué a menudo es más fácil concentrarse en las realidades de hoy que en la promesa del cielo?
¿Cómo puedes prepararte ahora para estar listo para escuchar a Dios cuando estás en un momento de dolor?

How God Uses Grief to Help Us Grow

Grief, loss, and pain are an inevitable part of life. But did you know that God uses these things to help us grow? He does it in three ways.

First, God uses pain to get our attention. C. S. Lewis wrote, “God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pain.” Pain is God’s megaphone. We rarely change when we see the light. We change when we feel the heat.

Proverbs 20:30 says, “Sometimes it takes a painful experience to make us change our ways” (GNT).

Second, God brings good out of bad. One of the most famous verses in the Bible is Romans 8:28: “We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him” (NIV).

When you experience a loss, it’s an opportunity to grow in character. You can’t control the pain you go through, but you can decide whether it’s going to make you bitter or better. You decide whether it’s going to be a stepping-stone or a stumbling block. You have to remember that even in your pain, God is working for your good.

Third, God prepares us for eternity. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 4:17-18, “These little troubles are getting us ready for an eternal glory that will make all our troubles seem like nothing. Things that are seen don’t last forever, but things that are not seen are eternal. That’s why we keep our minds on the things that cannot be seen” (CEV).

You’ve probably heard me say before that you’re not taking your car to heaven. You’re not taking your china or your clothes to heaven; you’re not taking your career to heaven. But you are taking your character. You are taking you.

God’s more interested in your character development than in your comfort. Why? Because you can get comfortable in heaven, but this is the get-ready stage. This is the learning stage. This is the warm-up act. God uses your troubles here on Earth to get you ready for an eternal glory. That’s a comfort.

When you’re in pain, you need to ask, “What is God doing?” Is he trying to get your attention? Is he trying to bring good out of bad? Is he preparing your character for heaven?

Six Ways God Blesses a Broken Heart

Every one of us will experience loss. So how does God heal your broken heart? You don’t get over a loss. You can’t go under it; you can’t go around it. You’ve got to go through the grief. And if you’re scared to express emotion and refuse to go through it, that’s where you get stuck.

But how do you get unstuck? You let God help you. Here are six ways God blesses a broken heart.

God draws you close to himself.

Psalm 34:18 says, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and he saves those whose spirits have been crushed” (NCV). When you grieve, you often feel like God is a million miles away. But what you feel and what is real are not always the same thing. God’s not a million miles away. In fact, he’s never been any closer.

God grieves with you.

The Bible says Jesus was “a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief” (Isaiah 53:3 NLT). When you come to Jesus with your grief, he knows what you’re talking about, and he understands your pain. God is a suffering God, and he is a sympathetic God. He’s not aloof; he’s not apathetic. He’s not standing on the sidelines.

God gives you a church family for support.

We’re meant to grieve in community. Healing comes in groups. Healing comes in the church. Healing comes in community. We’re better together!

“In Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others . . . Be devoted to each other like a loving family . . . Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn” (Romans 12:5, 10, 15 NIV/GW).

God uses grief to help you grow.

God uses grief and even pain to help you become more like Christ, and he does it in three ways.

First, God uses pain to get your attention (Proverbs 20:30). Second, he brings good out of bad (Romans 8:28). Third, he prepares you for eternity (2 Corinthians 4:17-18).

God gives you the hope of heaven.

There are many people who grieve without hope. Your life on this earth is short, but if you believe in Jesus Christ and trust him for your salvation, then you have the hope of spending eternity in heaven with God, and that hope will sustain you through your time of loss. The Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 4:13, “We don’t want you to be ignorant about those who have died. We don’t want you to grieve like other people who have no hope” (GW).

God uses your pain to help others.

This is called redemptive pain; it is the highest and best use of the pain you go through. God does not want you to waste a hurt. “[God] comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us” (2 Corinthians 1:4 NLT).

Seis maneras en que Dios Bendice a un Corazón Quebrantado

 

“El Señor está cerca de los que tienen quebrantado el corazón; él rescata a los de espíritu destrozado” (Salmo 34:18 NTV).

Cada uno de nosotros experimentará pérdida. ¿Cómo sana Dios tu corazón roto? No superas una pérdida. No puedes pasar por debajo, no la puedes rodear. Tienes que pasar a través del dolor. Y si estás asustado de expresar emociones y rechazas pasar por ello, es donde te quedas estancado.

¿Pero cómo dejas de estar estancado? Tiene que dejar que Dios te ayude. Aquí hay seis formas en la que Dios bendice un corazón roto.

Dios te acerca a Él.

Salmos 34:18 dice, “El Señor está cerca de los que tienen quebrantado el corazón; él rescata a los de espíritu destrozado” (NTV). Cuando te dueles, a menudo sientes que Dios está a un millón de kilómetros de distancia. Pero lo que sientes y la realidad a menudo no es lo mismo. Dios no está a un millón de kilómetros de distancia. De hecho, Él nunca ha estado más cerca.

Dios se duele contigo.

La Biblia dice que Jesús fue un “…hombre de dolores, conocedor del dolor más profundo” (Isaías 53:3 NTV). Cundo vienes a Jesús con tu dolor, él sabe de lo que estás hablando, y él entiende tu dolor. Dios es un Dios que ha sufrido, y él es un Dios comprensivo. Él no está a la distancia; no es apático. Él no se mantiene al margen.

Dios te da una familia de apoyo.

Fuimos hechos para dolernos en comunión. La sanidad llega en grupos. La sanidad viene en la iglesia. La sanidad viene en la comunidad. ¡Somos mejores juntos!

“también nosotros, siendo muchos, formamos un solo cuerpo en Cristo, y cada miembro está unido a todos los demás … ámense los unos a los otros con amor fraternal, respetándose y honrándose mutuamente … alégrense con los que están alegres; lloren con los que lloran” (Romanos 12:5, 10, 15 NVI).

Dios usa el dolor para ayudarte a crecer.

Dios usa la aflicción e incluso el dolor para ayudarte a ser más como Cristo, y lo hace de tres maneras:

Primero, Dios usa el dolor para obtener tu atención (Proverbios 20:30). Segundo, él saca algo bueno de lo malo (Romanos 8:28). Tercero, él te prepara para la eternidad (2 Corintios 4:17-18).

Dios te da la esperanza del cielo.

Hay muchas personas que sufren sin esperanza. Tu vida en esta tierra es corta, pero si crees en Jesucristo y confías en él para tu salvación, entonces tienes la esperanza de la pérdida. La Biblia dice en 1 Tesalonicenses 4:13 “Hermanos, no queremos que ignoréis lo que va a pasar con los que ya han muerto, para que no os entristezcáis como esos otros que no tienen esperanza” (CST).

Dios usa tu dolor para ayudar a otros.

A esto se le llama dolor redentor; es el más alto y mejor uso del dolor que pasarás. Dios no quiere que desperdicies una herida. “Él nos consuela en todas nuestras dificultades para que nosotros podamos consolar a otros.
