Qué Crees que da Forma a tu Vida

“Cuando los fundamentos son destruidos, ¿qué le queda al justo?”. Salmos 11:3 (NVI)

Lo que creemos sobre el mundo que nos rodea configura todo sobre nuestras vidas. He compartido esto contigo muchas veces en estos devocionales. Lo que crees determina tu comportamiento. Entonces, tu comportamiento determina en qué te conviertes, y eso tiene un efecto directo en la dirección de tu vida.

Lo mismo es cierto de un país o del mundo. Están en gran medida moldeados por los valores que creemos.

El problema es que hemos adquirido tres filosofías muy destructivas que han reemplazado a la verdad en nuestras vidas.

Individualismo: comprendemos la mentira de que somos el único estándar para nuestras vidas. Hace unos años leí un artículo del ‘Wall Street Journal’ que decía que el 44 por ciento de los ejecutivos consultan primero consigo mismos en una crisis ética. Eso no es nada nuevo. Los israelitas pasaron por esto en el libro de Jueces cuando la Biblia dice: “En esos días, Israel no tenía rey; cada uno hacía lo que le parecía correcto según su propio criterio” Jueces 21:25 (NTV). No funcionó bien entonces, y no funciona bien hoy.Secularismo: Puedes resumir esto en tres palabras: Dios es innecesario. En el último medio siglo, hemos eliminado sistemáticamente a Dios de todas las áreas de nuestras vidas, desde las escuelas hasta el gobierno y los medios de comunicación. Básicamente hemos relegado a Dios a los domingos por la mañana, si es que lo consideramos entonces.Relativismo: Es cuando nos dicen que no hay absolutos, lo que es verdad para ti puede no ser cierto para mí. Es una excelente manera de vivir si no quieres culpabilidad. Si no estás a la altura del estándar de Dios, simplemente cambias el estándar. Es ilógico e irracional, pero prevalece en nuestro mundo de hoy.

No te dejes engañar por el individualismo (amor a sí mismo), el secularismo (Dios es innecesario) o el relativismo (no hay absolutos).

Las consecuencias como sociedad y para nosotros como individuos por caer en estas trampas son asombrosas. Sin un compromiso con la verdad y sin un compromiso con la autoridad de Dios, nuestra cultura se está desmoronando.

En el devocional de mañana, comenzaremos a explorar la respuesta de Dios para nuestro colapso moral.

God Is Always Present, Regardless of How You Feel

“Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised.”

Job 1:21 (NIV)

When you are a baby Christian, God gives you a lot of confirming emotions and often answers the most immature, self-centered prayers so you’ll know he exists. But as you grow in faith, he will wean you of these dependencies.

God’s omnipresence and the manifestation of his presence are two different things. One is a fact; the other is often a feeling. It’s a fact that God is omnipresent; he’s always there, even when you’re unaware of him. Even when you don’t feel his presence, you can always trust the fact that God is there. His presence is too profound to be measured just by emotion.

Yes, God wants you to sense his presence, but he’s more concerned that you trust him than that you feel him. We live by faith, not by sight or by our feelings.

The situations that will stretch your faith most will be those times when life falls apart and God is nowhere to be found. This happened to a man named Job. On a single day he lost everything—his family, his business, his health, and all his possessions. And then, for 37 chapters in the Old Testament book of Job, God said nothing!

How do you praise God when you don’t understand what’s happening in your life and God is silent? How do you stay connected in a crisis without communication? How do you keep your eyes on Jesus when they’re full of tears? You do what Job did: “Then he fell to the ground in worship and said: ‘Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised’” (Job 1:20-21 NIV).

Tell God exactly how you feel. Pour out your heart to him. Unload every emotion that you’re feeling. Job did this when he said, “I can’t be quiet! I am angry and bitter. I have to speak” (Job 7:11 GNT).

He cried out when God seemed distant: “Oh, for the days when I was in my prime, when God’s intimate friendship blessed my house” (Job 29:4 NIV).

Whether or not you can feel God today, you can trust that he’s there with you. Are you full of doubt, anger, fear, grief, confusion, or questions? Bring it all to God. He is with you, he is for you, and he can handle all your questions and concerns.

The Bible says, “… If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31 NIV)

No se Trata de Ti

“No andamos predicando acerca de nosotros mismos. Predicamos que Jesucristo es Señor, y nosotros somos siervos de ustedes por causa de Jesús”. 2 Corintios 4:5 (NTV)

Entre más egocéntrica sea tu vida, más propenso eres al desánimo. Cuando crees que todo se trata de ti, te vuelves orgulloso, temeroso o amargado. Esos sentimientos siempre conducirán al desánimo porque te mantienen concentrado en ti mismo.

La Biblia dice en 2 Corintios 4:5: “No andamos predicando acerca de nosotros mismos. Predicamos que Jesucristo es Señor, y nosotros somos siervos de ustedes por causa de Jesús” (NTV).

¡No se trata de ti! Dios te puso en esta tierra, y tiene un mensaje que quiere declarar al mundo a través de ti. Pero tu mensaje de vida no es sobre ti. Se trata de Jesucristo.

Elegí esas cinco palabras —”No se trata de ti”— para comenzar Una Vida con Propósito porque ese es el mensaje más contracultural que podrías dar en el mundo de hoy. Casi todo en la sociedad (canciones, videojuegos, programas de televisión, noticias y anuncios) dice que primero debes pensar en ti mismo.

A veces desearía no haber puesto esa frase en el libro, porque no tenía idea de que por el resto de mi vida iba a ser constantemente probado con esa frase. ¡Tengo que repetírmelo a mí mismo 20 veces al día! Cuando alguien me alaba, me critica, me juzga mal o no está de acuerdo conmigo, tengo que recordarme: “No se trata de mí”. ¿Por qué? Porque cuando me concentre en mí, me voy a desanimar.

En cambio, como dice Pablo en el versículo de hoy, somos siervos por el bien de Jesús. Eso significa que estamos motivados para servir a los demás debido a lo que Jesús ha hecho por nosotros.

Dios siempre está más interesado en por qué estás haciendo lo que estás haciendo que en lo que realmente estás haciendo. Se preocupa por las motivaciones de tu corazón. El por qué haces algo siempre determina cuánto tiempo vas a hacerlo. Si te motiva la ambición egoísta, nunca será suficiente. Al final te desanimarás y lo dejarás.

Pero cuando estás motivado para hacer algo debido a la manera cómo eso anuncia el Evangelio y glorifica a Jesús, tendrás el aliento que necesitas para verlo realizado.

¿Cómo las personas más cercanas a ti te alientan a servir a los demás con una humildad semejante a la de Cristo?¿De qué manera el amor de Jesús por ti te motiva a pensar en los demás más de lo que piensas en ti mismo?¿Cómo Dios te anima cuando tienes la motivación correcta?Si todavía no has confiado en Jesús y no te has comprometido a seguirlo, ¿por qué esperar más? Why Should You Care About Being Right with God?

“The Good News shows how God makes people right with himself.”

Romans 1:17 (NCV)

“Righteousness” is a big word in the Bible. It’s used hundreds of times. For example, the Bible says that God loves righteousness and that God is righteous. It says that one day God is going to judge the world in righteousness. Psalm 23 says that God leads us in the paths of righteousness.

But what in the world does this word “righteousness” really mean?

I once looked it up in a theological dictionary, and its definition went on for 27 pages! But I’ll boil it down to two things: Righteousness is a relationship and a lifestyle.

Righteousness simply means being right with God. Romans 1:17 says, “The Good News shows how God makes people right with himself” (NCV). The Good News is that God made us right with himself through Jesus’ death as payment for our sins. Because of Jesus’ death, we can have a personal relationship with God.

Righteousness is also a lifestyle. It means living right, as God intends. The Bible says in 1 John 2:29, “All who practice righteousness are God’s true children” (The Message).

So why should you care about being right with God? Because it’s the only way to live, and it’s the only way to heaven.

When you are disconnected from God, you’re not really living; you’re just existing. Most people in the world aren’t really fully alive. They just exist, trying to make it to the weekend. But to be disconnected from your Creator who made you for a purpose is nonsense.

Life is not about the acquisition of things or the achievement of goals. Life is about getting to know God—the one who loves you and made you for a purpose. You’re not really living until you’re right with God and have a relationship with him.

Righteousness is also the way you get to heaven. God created heaven as a place for his children whom he loves, and he wants you to be with him forever. He wants you to be in heaven, but he’s not going to force you to go to heaven. You can choose to be disconnected from God here on Earth, but when your life on Earth is done, you will not be given a second chance to choose where you spend eternity.

God gives you the choice right now to have a relationship with him. He wants you to choose to love him! And when you do, you will be made right with him. It will change your life—here on Earth and for eternity!

Talk It Over

If God makes you right with him, why does he still want you to learn and grow in spiritual maturity?
What does it mean to have a relationship with God? What does that look like in your life?
In your own words, how would you explain righteousness to someone else? What difference has it made in your life to be made right with God?

You can be right with God today.

Your sin separates you from God, and there’s nothing you can do to make things right. So you need someone to save you from your sins and make you acceptable to God—to make you righteous.

That’s why God sent Jesus. Jesus’ death on the cross paid for every wrong you’ve ever done or will do. Jesus made it possible for you to have a relationship with God the Father. The Bible says, “We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are” (Romans 3:22 NLT).

You can start your journey with Jesus by believing in him and confessing your sins. If you’re ready to surrender your life to Jesus Christ, start by praying this simple prayer: “Dear God, I know I’m a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe that he died for my sin and that you raised him to life. I want to trust him as my Savior and follow him as Lord from this day forward. I want to be righteous—to be in right relationship with you. Guide my life and help me to do your will. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.”

Sé Quién Dios te Creó para Ser

“No tratamos de engañar a nadie ni de distorsionar la palabra de Dios”. 2 Corintios 4:2 (NTV)

Nada es más desalentador que intentar ser algo que no eres.

Si mantienes una fachada porque tienes temor de que otras personas descubran quién eres o que Dios no te ame, entonces te perderás lo mejor de Dios para tu vida.

Dios no bendice a los falsos ni a los mentirosos. Si quieres la bendición de Dios en tu vida, deja de vivir para la aprobación de otras personas y comienza a ser quien Dios te creó. Dios no te creó para ser otra persona. Cuando llegues al cielo, no te preguntará: “¿Por qué no fuiste como tu hermana, o como el chico popular o como tu amigo exitoso?”. Él te hará responsable de cómo cumpliste sus propósitos para tu vida.

El mundo no te necesita a ti ni a nadie. Pero el mundo sí necesita que hagas el trabajo que Dios tiene para ti en la tierra. Él te formó y te dotó de una manera única, y todos nos lo estamos perdiendo si te empeñas en ser alguien que no seas tú mismo.

Pablo dice en 2 Corintios 4:2: “No tratamos de engañar a nadie ni distorsionar la palabra de Dios” (NTV). En otras palabras, no nos estemos poniendo un disfraz o una máscara falsa. No finjamos ser algo que no somos. Y no distorsionemos la Palabra de Dios. En cambio, enseñemos la verdad claramente, mostrando a todos quiénes somos en realidad.

Nada es más desalentador que tratar de complacer a todos. He aparecido en la portada de la revista Newsweek dos veces, una como héroe y otra como cero. ¡Así es la vida! Incluso Dios no puede complacer a todos. Cuando alguien está orando por un día de lluvia, alguien más está orando por un cielo azul.

Si siempre estás tratando de ser algo que no eres, siempre estarás estresado y temerás ser expuesto, y serás propenso al desánimo.

Para vencer el desánimo, simplemente sé quién Dios te hizo ser. No tienes que ser perfecto para que Dios te bendiga, solo sé auténtico.

¿Estás viviendo para la aprobación de Dios o la aprobación de otros? ¿Las personas más cercanas a ti estarían de acuerdo o en desacuerdo con tu respuesta?¿Cómo causa estrés en tu vida la necesidad de complacer a los demás?¿Por qué querría Dios bendecir tu autenticidad e integridad?Si todavía no has confiado en Jesús y no te has comprometido a seguirlo, ¿por qué esperar más? Learn How to Be Gentle by Walking With Jesus

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”

Matthew 11:28-29 (NIV)

Gentleness is important for so many reasons. It defuses conflict. It disarms critics. It’s persuasive. It’s attractive. It communicates love.

Most importantly, gentleness makes you more like Jesus. In Matthew 11:28-29, Jesus says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls” (NIV).

Do you feel weary and burdened today? Do you want to find rest and be at peace instead? Rest and peace come from being like Jesus—from being gentle. 

You can’t just walk out your door and force yourself to be gentle. Gentleness needs to be an “inside job.” It should be the fruit of God’s Spirit in you. Jesus is gentle, and when you walk alongside him, you’ll learn to be gentle too. 

For more than 30 years now, I’ve prayed the same prayer almost every day: “Lord, help me to treat people the way Jesus would.” Why? Because I am not by nature a gentle person. So I have to let God produce gentleness in my life.

Here are three simple ways for you to practice gentleness with God’s help this week:

1. When somebody serves you, be understanding, not demanding. 
Then next time you’re in a long line at a government office or coffee shop, be considerate—be understanding—of the person who eventually helps you.

2. When somebody disagrees with you, be tender without surrender.
You’ll never get your point across by being cross. You don’t have to back down from God’s truth, but you can treat people with gentleness and respect. 

3. When somebody disappoints you, be gentle, not judgmental.
Ephesians 4:32 says it like this: “Be gentle with one another, sensitive. Forgive one another as quickly and thoroughly as God in Christ forgave you” (MSG).  

As you walk alongside Jesus and put these things into practice every day, you’ll find yourself becoming gentler and more like Jesus.

Talk It Over

A yoke is a harness that is put on an animal to pull a plow. Why does Jesus’ yoke bring rest, not burden?
Have you ever used the excuse that you’re “just not a gentle person”? What other learned traits do we sometimes treat like they are inherent?
How have you seen a difference in your life, including becoming gentler, since you became a follower of Jesus and received the Holy Spirit? If you’re not a believer, consider taking that step today.

Gentleness is a benefit of your relationship with Jesus

Gentleness is a fruit of the Spirit, an overflow of God’s Spirit in you. You can’t be gentle without the power of the Holy Spirit. And you don’t receive the power of the Holy Spirit until you surrender your life to Jesus. If you’re ready to take that step, pray this prayer:

“Dear God, I know I’m a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe Jesus Christ is your Son. I believe that he died for my sin and that you raised him to life. I want to trust him as my Savior and follow him as Lord from this day forward. I am not by nature a gentle person. Help me learn to walk with Jesus and let your Holy Spirit make me gentle like him. Guide my life and help me to do your will. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.”

Cómo Vencer el Desánimo

“Por lo tanto, ya que Dios, en su misericordia, nos ha dado este nuevo camino, nunca nos damos por vencidos”. 2 Corintios 4:1 (NTV)

¿Sabes que Dios te ama? ¡Quizás hayas escuchado esa verdad toda tu vida!

Pero si sabes que Dios te ama, ¿sientes y reconoces el amor de Dios? Cuando dejas de creer que Dios te ama, puedes empezar a desanimarte. ¿Por qué? Porque si no crees que Dios te ama, entonces no puedes experimentar su gracia y misericordia.

La mejor manera de vencer el desánimo es recordar cuánto te ama Dios y mantenerte enfocado en esa verdad.

“Por lo tanto, ya que Dios, en su misericordia, nos ha dado este nuevo camino, nunca nos damos por vencidos” 2 Corintios 4:1 (NTV).

¿Qué es la misericordia? La misericordia es cuando Dios te da lo que necesitas, no lo que mereces. La misericordia es cuando Dios conoce todos los errores que has cometido y que cometerás, y aun así te da todas las cosas buenas de tu vida. La misericordia de Dios es lo que te mantiene en movimiento cuando te sientes desesperado, agotado o desanimado.

Muchas personas que han sido cristianas durante mucho tiempo no sienten el amor de Dios porque solo piensan que Dios les habla con voz de crítica. Pero si la voz que estás escuchando siempre es negativa, no es Dios.

Dios te hizo para amarte. El propósito número uno de tu vida no es que hagas el bien. El propósito número uno de tu vida ni siquiera es que ames a Dios.

El propósito número uno de tu vida es dejar que Dios te ame. Cuando hagas eso y experimentes su misericordia y gracia, serás libre para lograr todo lo que Él ha planeado para tu vida. 

Reflexiona sobre esto:

¿Qué circunstancias afectan con mayor frecuencia la forma en que crees que Dios te ve?¿Sientes que Dios te habla más a menudo con una voz negativa o con amor? ¿Por qué?¿Cómo dejas que Dios te ame? ¿Qué quieres cambiar sobre tu forma de pensar en esa área?Si todavía no has confiado en Jesús y no te has comprometido a seguirlo, ¿por qué esperar más? Before They Trust Jesus, People Need to Trust You

“Believers shouldn’t curse anyone or be quarrelsome, but they should be gentle and show courtesy to everyone.”

Titus 3:2 (GW)

Your gentleness is a witness to unbelievers. They’re watching you all the time to see if you are any different when you’re under stress. When you respond to pressure with gentleness, it’s an incredible testimony to the world.

The Bible says in Titus 3:2, “Believers shouldn’t curse anyone or be quarrelsome, but they should be gentle and show courtesy to everyone” (GW).

If you claim to be a follower of Jesus, you are not allowed to speak evil of anyone. You are not allowed to be quarrelsome. Instead, you must be gentle with and show courtesy to everyone. Does that mean even people of a different political party? Yes.

God gave me the gift of evangelism, so I spend most of my time speaking with people I totally disagree with. That’s because I believe you cannot win your enemies to Christ; you can only win your friends.

People aren’t going to trust Jesus until they trust you. People usually don’t ask me if the Bible is credible. They want to see that I am credible. Do I live with integrity? Am I gentle? Am I loving? Am I compassionate?

If people like what they see in you, they will listen to what you say.

Here’s the thing: If you obey Titus 3:2, you’re going to be criticized by other Christians. They’re going to say you’re compromising—I know this from experience. When I say I have friends who are Muslim, Jewish, or atheists, they say, “How could you do that?” And they accuse me of compromising.

Treating other people with respect does not mean you have to compromise what you believe. I have friends who don’t agree with me and friends who don’t believe what I believe—because there’s something more important to focus on: Do they know Jesus?

A great verse to live by is 1 Peter 3:15: “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect” (NIV).

Talk It Over

How do you intentionally make friends from all walks of life so that you can talk to them about Jesus?
Why does gentleness stand out so much in today’s world?
What do you need to do to be better “prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give a reason for the hope that you have” (1 Peter 3:15 NIV)?

Where will you spend eternity?

The Bible says you can only get to heaven by trusting in God through his Son, Jesus Christ. You cannot earn your way into heaven: “It is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV).

If you’re ready to commit your life to Jesus, start with this prayer:

“Dear God, you have promised that if I believe in your Son, Jesus Christ, everything I’ve ever done wrong will be forgiven, I will learn the purpose of my life, and you will accept me into your eternal home in heaven one day.

"I confess I have sinned, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus died to take away my sins and that you raised him to life. I want to trust Jesus as my Savior and follow him as Lord from this day forward. Guide my life and help me to do your will. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen."

¿Lo que haces es el mejor uso de tu vida?

“Tengan cuidado de cómo se comportan. Vivan como gente que piensa lo que hace, y no como tontos. Aprovechen cada oportunidad que tengan de hacer el bien, porque estamos viviendo tiempos muy malos. No sean tontos, sino traten de averiguar qué es lo que Dios quiere que hagan”. Efesios 5:15-17 (TLA)

Si quieres tener un impacto en tu vida, tienes que hacer una cosa: controlar tu tiempo. Tu tiempo es tu vida. Si no aprendes a administrar tu tiempo, limitarás el legado de tu vida.

Efesios 5:15-17 dice: “Tengan cuidado de cómo se comportan. Vivan como gente que piensa lo que hace, y no como tontos. Aprovechen cada oportunidad que tengan de hacer el bien, porque estamos viviendo tiempos muy malos. No sean tontos, sino traten de averiguar qué es lo que Dios quiere que hagan” (TLA).

Todos tenemos la misma cantidad de tiempo cada semana: 168 horas. ¡Es lo que hagas con él lo que cuenta! Solo te han asignado una cierta cantidad de días en este mundo, y si los desperdicias, ¡lo arruinaste! Si pierdes el tiempo, estás desperdiciando tu vida porque tu tiempo es tu vida. Tienes que detenerte y preguntar: “¿Es este el mejor uso de mi tiempo? ¿Es este el mejor uso de mi vida?”.

No tienes tiempo para todo. La buena noticia es que Dios no espera que hagas todo. ¡Así que no te sientas culpable por ello! En primer lugar, solo hay algunas cosas que vale la pena hacer.

Las personas eficaces descubren lo qué es esencial en la vida y lo qué es trivial, y dedican más tiempo a las cosas esenciales y menos a las triviales. No puedes eliminar todas las trivialidades de tu vida, pero puede reducirlas.

Esto suena fácil, pero, francamente, a menudo es difícil elegir entre lo que es mejor para tu vida y lo que es más fácil para tu vida, especialmente cuando estás cansado. Cuando estás cansado, no quieres hacer lo mejor. Quieres hacer lo que es fácil. Por eso, si realmente vas a hacer algo con tu vida, debes aprender a descansar un poco. Si no estás descansado, no tendrás la fuerza mental, emocional y física para decir: “Voy a hacer lo correcto en lugar de lo más fácil”.

No desperdicies tu vida. No te conformes con algo secundario. No pases por la vida simplemente existiendo. No fuiste creado solamente para sobrevivir. Dios te hizo con una misión y un propósito. Pregúntate: ¿Lo que hago es el mejor uso de mi vida?”.

Reflexiona sobre esto:

¿Qué cosas ocupan la mayor parte de tu tiempo?¿Te están ayudando esas cosas a cumplir tu misión en la vida?¿Qué puedes cambiar en tu horario y en tus prioridades para poder descansar más?Si todavía no has confiado en Jesús y no te has comprometido a seguirlo, ¿por qué esperar más? Effective Leadership Is Gentle

“A woman of gentle grace gets respect.”

Proverbs 11:16 (MSG)

Gentleness is a prerequisite to leadership. No matter where you want to be a leader—in church, government, business, home, school, or your community—you first have to be gentle. 

Proverbs 11:16 says, “A woman of gentle grace gets respect” (MSG)—and that’s true for men too. Gentleness leads to respect, and no one can truly lead without being respected.  

Jesus was “gentle and humble in heart” (Matthew 11:29 NIV). He was strong in every way. He could make arrogant leaders speechless and overturn tables in the temple. But he never lost his temper. He kept his strength under control. He was gentle.

Other than Jesus, only one person in the Bible was called gentle: Moses.

You probably think of Moses as a strong leader. He took on Pharaoh, the most powerful man in the world at the time, and demanded that Pharaoh let God’s people go. Moses had nothing but God on his side—and that was enough for him. But before Moses was a leader, Moses was gentle.

Here’s what the Bible says about Moses: “Now the man Moses was very humble (gentle, kind, devoid of self-righteousness), more than any man who was on the face of the earth” (Numbers 12:3 AMP).

But it’s likely that gentleness didn’t come naturally for Moses. His persistent sin was uncontrolled anger; he had a violent temper, and he had trouble managing it.

One time Moses got so angry that he killed an Egyptian. When Moses came down from the mountain after receiving the Ten Commandments, he found the Hebrew people worshiping an idol. He was so angry that he threw down the Ten Commandments and broke them. And anger was what kept Moses from entering the Promised Land.

So how could the guy who had a lifelong problem with anger be the only one in the Bible besides Jesus who is called gentle? Because Moses was teachable. When people spoke to him about areas of his life that needed changing, it didn’t make him angry. Instead, he learned from them.

He was gentle. And that gentleness earned him respect. And that respect made him a leader.

Maybe you struggle with anger like Moses. Or maybe you’re too submissive, or impatient, or lazy. Whatever you struggle with, choose to have a gentle, teachable spirit. You’ll find that your gentleness earns you the respect of the people around you.
