Excerpt:

“You are the first woman I’ve ever made love to.”

His confession hit me hard.

“What do you mean?” I couldn’t believe we were discussing this in the middle of sex, but I wasn’t about to stop him from sharing something so intimate about himself.

He crawled up and laid next to me, turning me on my side so that we faced each other. He swept my hair behind my ears and calmed his breathing, “I have always been the Dom, Jen, that’s what I do best. I inflict pain and make women beg for me. All my past relationships, if you can even call them that, have been Dom and sub. I’d never given up my control for anyone, and I never planned to until you came along.

“You changed something inside of me. I’m not sure I’m ready to give up all my control, and I may never be ready, but you make me feel like it’s okay to make love. It’s okay to express how fucking in love with you I am. I want to be raw with you. I want our relationship to be happy and exciting. If I ever lost you, I would go crazy. Literally, bat shit crazy.”

We both chuckled.

“You are the light of my life. I know sometimes I may be unreasonable, but be patient with me. I promise I won’t let you down.”

Wallbanger! A must read!

Synopsis:

Caroline Reynolds has a fantastic new apartment in San Francisco, a KitchenAid mixer, and no O (and we’re not talking Oprah here, folks). She has a flourishing design career, an office overlooking the bay, a killer zucchini bread recipe, and no O. She has Clive (the best cat ever), great friends, a great rack, and no O.

Adding insult to O-less, since her move, she has an oversexed neighbor with the loudest late-night wallbanging she’s ever heard. Each moan, spank, and–was that a meow?–punctuates the fact that not only is she losing sleep, she still has, yep, you guessed it, no O.

Enter Simon Parker. (No, really, Simon, please enter.) When the wallbanging threatens to literally bounce her out of bed, Caroline, clad in sexual frustration and a pink baby-doll nightie, confronts her heard-but-never-seen neighbor. Their late-night hallway encounter has, well, mixed results. Ahem. With walls this thin, the tension’s gonna be thick…

In her third novel, Alice Clayton returns to dish her trademark mix of silly and steamy. Banter, barbs, and strutting pussycats, plus the sexiest apple pie ever made, are dunked in a hot tub and set against the gorgeous San Francisco skyline in this hot and hilarious tale of exasperation at first sight.

Buy Wallbanger on Amazon and Barnes & Noble

Chelly’s Review

5 Stars

After 30 minutes of torture from Mr. Machine Gun F*cker, Caroline’s lost her “O”. She’s gone…she doesn’t exist anymore…even the likes of Matt Damon and George Clooney can’t bring her out of hiding! What’s a girl to do? The constant, “Thump. ‘Oh God.’ Thump thump. ‘That’s so good!’ Thump thump. “Oh God, Simon! Don’t stop!’,” she keeps hearing night after night through her bedroom wall of her new apartment certainly doesn’t help with the frustration. Finally fed up, and clad in a pink baby-doll nightie, Caroline decides to put an end to the torture. She stomps across hall to give Mr. Wallbanger a piece of her mind, but what she sees immediately becomes the new star in her fantasies…hellooooo Simon Wallbanger! Err um, Parker, Simon Parker. He is hotness reincarnate and described as the “Director of the International House of Os”, but such an asshole (Caroline tries to convince herself of this anyway). With all that banging going on, might he have what it takes to bring O out of hiding after six long months? Can they take their relationship from Cockblocker & Wallbanger status to friends, maybe more?

Caroline could quite possibly be my favorite female character ever – she is feisty and crass, and a major smart-ass to boot. I especially loved the internal banter between Caroline, Lower Caroline, Heart, Brain, Backbone, and Nerves. Simon is the super-sexy guy next door who comes across as cocky and arrogant, but is actually really deep and romantic, with a love for baked goods, and he “gives good woo.” Throw in Mimi and Sophia, the BFFs/mother hens, and Caroline’s protector, Clive the cat, and it makes for non-stop, hilarious good times. This is not a super emotional love story, there is no major plot line (besides a poor girl searching for her long lost O and maybe finding love in the process), but it is flat-out fun that you won’t want to put down.

I. LOVED this book! I have never had a book make me laugh out loud as much as Wallbanger did. This was my first experience with Alice Clayton, and I fell in love with her writing style and wit. If you’re looking for a fun, easy book to get lost in, try it…I promise you’ll love it! I will definitely be looking for more stories from this author!

A Post Vacationista Review!

Vacationista by Tara Simone

A broken heart. A ticket to paradise. A resort full of honeymooners …

the last thing newly single Patience De La Rosa needs if she’s to find a candidate for a casual rebound.

Her luggage catching a flight to Mauritius instead of Maui doesn’t help matters and a maxed out credit

card doesn’t buy a girl a fresh pair of panties. Then there’s the annoying weird guy, the one who’s married

to his laptop, sitting beside her at the pool.

Odds for a fling improve when three single, sexy and willing candidates cross her path. Though

Patience’s luggage may be M.I.A., her breakup baggage crossed the Pacific with her. Will Patience cast it

aside, throw caution to the tropical winds and indulge in island debauchery? Or will a tea leaf reader’s

prediction about her romantic excursions come true in unexpected ways?

Chelly’s Thoughts

5 Stars

Patience De La Rosa books a romantic trip to Maui for two for her boyfriend’s birthday, not knowing that when the time came, she would be single.  Before she leaves, a tea leaf reader tells Patience that on her trip, she will meet 3 rebound guys, and with everyone telling her that is exactly what she needs to get over her ex, why not have some fun?  The romantic trip for two turns into the trip from hell for a single girl at a resort full of honeymooners – her luggage never made it onto the plane with her, so she only has the clothes on her back, a teeny bikini, a maxed-out credit card, only $200 cash, and her Chanel Espadrille shoes, affectionately named Coco.

On her first day there she meets Huey, a nerdy, pasty-white Hollywood screenwriter, and he is dismissed pretty quickly as a rebound option.  Then over the next few days the hilarity ensues – will the rebound guys include Quinn, the hot surfer/bartender with the Peter Pan complex?  Ted, the pharmaceutical guy, who is an Italian God, but is so full of himself it’s ridiculous?  Jamie Dillon, the movie star voted Sexiest Man Alive (who could also be a contender for Dumbest Man Alive)? Or maybe Stefan, the super boring, super brainy engineer who just wants to show Patience his “telescope”?  They don’t have to be marriage material, she’s just looking for a rebound and maybe a free meal.  All the while, Huey keeps popping up everywhere she turns…maybe he’s not a bad friend to have around – if nothing else he can keep her fed (which is proving difficult with a limited budget and outrageously priced food).

Vacationista is such a fun book, you will love following along with the adventures of Patience and Coco!  It is the perfect beach read, but even in a blizzard it’ll warm you up on the inside.  I had a smile on my face the entire time and read it in one sitting…I just couldn’t put it down!  I loved Huey from the beginning, but I’ve always had a thing for quick-witted, nerdy guys, and the banter between Patience and Huey was non-stop entertainment.  1-Click it now, you won’t be disappointed!

Excerpt from Vacationista by Tara Simone

The hotel phone rings and shakes me from my rage. Please let it be good news. Please let my luggage be here. I am so sick of wearing this peach tank top, what I wouldn’t do for a basic cotton tee. I cannot believe this shirt was ever my favorite. I answer the phone.

“Hello?”

“I need help,” a voice mumbles.

“Who is this?”

“The albino guy with the sunburn.”

“It’s six o’clock in the morning. How did you know I was awake?”

“I didn’t. I need help.”

Huey’s room is actually one of twelve cottages that sit on a small cliff beyond the pool area looking out over the ocean. I use the term cottage loosely. Each one looks to be twice the size of the cottage I shared with Dan in Encanto. Floor to ceiling walls of privacy glass provide an unobstructed view of the ocean. Under a faux thatched roof is a private lanai with hammocks and patio furniture straight from the pages of a design magazine. The door to his unit is unlocked just as he said it would be.

If the outside was impressive, the inside is jaw dropping amazing.

This is ridiculous.

The furniture is several notches above what was in Ted’s room. Really fluffy, deep cushioned cream colored sofas and chairs that I just want to jump onto and crawl up in.

“Huey?” I call out. “I’m here.”

His voice calls out from another area of the house. “I’m in the bathtub.”

Hmmm. Generally if a man calls me to the bathtub I know what to expect. But this is Huey, and even though he is calling me to the bathtub, I don’t expect him to have any ulterior motives. Because it’s Huey. He’s not manipulative. I walk past the living room and through the sliding pocket doors that lead to the bedroom. To my left, a door is half open. I approach it carefully and stand just outside it without looking in.

“What can I do to help?”

“Come in.”

“If you’re in the tub, I’d rather not.”

“Have you never seen a man naked? Or are you just afraid you’ll be so overwhelmed by my sex god physique that you will jump me.”

“The latter.”

“I thought so. That is why everything provocative is covered. You will be safe in my presence.”

I take him at his word and poke my head around the door. The tub is huge. HUGE. It’s one of those Jacuzzi tubs built for two. Huey is in it. His man parts are indeed covered from view by lots of bubbles and a tray that stretches across the width of the tub, on which sits his laptop. This is not surprising to me. What is surprising to me is that he is submerged in water and bubbles the color of dirt.

“Why is the water brown?”

“It’s tea.” He fishes around in the water and holds up three tea bags. “There are a hundred tea bags in here.”

“Why?”

“Because Google said so.”

“For the burn?”

“Yes.”

“Where’d you get the tea bags?”

“Room service.”

“So you called me because what? You need cream and sugar?”

“If I wasn’t in so much pain I’d laugh at your witty observation. But not right now.”

“Fair enough. How can I help?”

“I can’t type. My arms hurt too much to type any longer. And I have to get this done. I need you to type for me.”

“I’m not getting in the tub.”

“I wasn’t asking you to. Though now that you mentioned it, that could be interesting, the tub is built for two.”

“Is it? I hadn’t noticed.”

“Best you not get in, you won’t be able to keep your hands off me. You can sit there and type.” He points to an area of the bathroom out of my view. I step further inside the bathroom. There are two white chaises, just as fluffy as the sofa in the living room.

“There is a living room in your bathroom,” I say. “I can’t fit a towel rack in my bathroom. And you have chaises in your bathroom.”

“Technically, it’s not my bathroom. And if you help me I will buy you a towel rack that fits in your bathroom.”

“Okay, Huey, I’ll type for you under two conditions.”

“And they are?”

“One, I get to order breakfast.”

“For someone so thin, you do eat a lot. The room service menu is on the desk in the bedroom.”

“And two, I’m out of here at ten to sit by the pool.”

“Do you realize you continue to put yourself in grave danger?”

“Of what?”

“M-E-L-A-N-O-M-A”

“Wow. You can spell big words. Impressive.”

“I mean it. Why do you worship the sun? Don’t you know it’s bad for you?”

“I’m twenty-six. I am allowed a vice or two. You’re like thirty-two going on sixty. Would you relax a little?”

“I did relax. With you. In the pool. And look what happened.”

“Okay, if you’re trying to make me feel guilty −,”

“I am.”

“It’s working. I’m going to go order breakfast, want anything?”

“Orange juice.”

“Really or are you being facetious?”

“Orange juice and the buckwheat pancakes with chocolate chips and maple syrup, please.”

I don’t know why he makes me chuckle but he does. He’s so formal and offbeat at the same time. I’m fairly certain he would have been the kid in my high school who had been tormented by the cool crowd. If I had known him then, I probably would have dismissed him, just as I did the first day at the pool. But in his own odd way, he’s kind of cool and fun and funny.

“Hello,” I say into the room phone, “I’d like to place an order please.”

“Yes, Mrs. Anders, what can we get you?”

Why does everyone here think I’m married? Oh, right, because everyone here except me is part of a couple.

I hate this place.

Excerpt:

“Baby, I want to sleep with you.” His voice softened. “This isn’t about sex. This is about sleeping … with you … in our bed, just sleeping, no talking. Just silence, me listening to your soft breaths. That’s truth.” And once again this man had completely disarmed me with words alone. “See you soon, baby.”

Silence filled my ear. I turned and dropped my phone on the bed.

“You’re not going to tell him, huh?” Sierra raised her eyebrows and frowned.

“I don’t know, but I’m definitely not ready tonight.”

“This thing with Dr. Hot-as-Balls is serious, isn’t it?”

I couldn’t help but nod. My gut told me she wasn’t wrong.

About the Authors:

Riley Mackenzie~Authors

Yep. That’s an “s.” There are two of us!

We’re East coast girls separated by Long Island Sound who met in Physician Assistant School and have been besties ever since. We can safely say that thirteen miles of water does not get in the way because we talk or text, no exaggeration, at least 150 times a day. No, really, we do—about everything and nothing. Shockingly, we never (we mean never) run out of things to say.  Umm, ever. We definitely laugh A LOT and we’re a tad sarcastic. And if we’re being totally honest, one or two people might have, on occasion, used our names and ‘dramatic’ in the same sentence. But it’s hard to trust the sources since they married us.

It only took twelve years, two husbands, five kids, two dogs, and a two-week vacation in Cape Cod later to decide the romance world needed a splash of medicine. Write what you know.

So you can easily find us at 4 o’clock on Bank Street beach with a glass of cold Prosecco brainstorming. And guaranteed if we bump into you, literally, it’s only because our iPhones are glued to our hands (totally out of our control) either writing or editing our next novel (and yes, it is possible to do from your iPhone, we mastered it … damn those straight quotations).

When we are not working on our book or reading the latest angsty romance on our kindles, you basically name it and we have it going on. Soccer, lacrosse, golf, swimming, dance, gymnastics, football, chess, baseball, basketball, skiing, ice skating, school, homework, and more school.

Oh yeah, did we forget to mention our careers in medicine?

Needless to say, we realized fast that something had to go, so we opted for sleep. It’s completely overrated (yet so AMAZING) and delirium makes everything funnier. Good thing we share a brain and can pretty much complete each other’s sentences (definitely weird, we know), otherwise it might have taken us two years to write Beautifully Awake rather than one.

So that’s our story, who we are … just add AUTHORS to the list!

I mean they come out of nowhere. The next thing I know, I’m on my ass again!” Georgia is a hoot. She always makes light of situations. Hank’s Tavern is not exactly what I pictured. It’s an old, worn down, wooden shed. There are five parking spaces in front of the restaurant section of the place. The rest of the parking lot is located across the road in a gravel lot. It’s gravel, no pavement anywhere. The bouncers are dressed in jeans and Hank’s Tavern t-shirts that fit just a little snug around their arms showing off their muscles. They ask for our IDs, take a brief glance, and in we go. I will have to say, the guys don’t get in quite as easy. They get patted down and driver’s license checked. Sometimes it pays to be a female.

We enter through another set of glass doors and immediately cigarette smoke and stale beer hit my nostrils. The room is open except for a few pool tables and the bar. It is dark, lights are flashing, and the music is bumping. We do exactly what any group of girls would do, walk straight to the bathroom. You have got to kidding me! No door really! There is no freakin’ door on the last stall. After taking a few minutes to get over the negative stall and freshen up, we walk out and head straight to the dance floor.

I have to say that this is exactly redneck meets ghetto fabulous. Whoever thought a place like this would play Mystikal, Dr. Dre, Lil Wayne, throw in a little “Downtown” by Lady A and Old Crow Medicine Show? We have the best time just dancing in a big group. I notice Crystal and Lucas on the floor; she smiles and waves before continuing to do things she should be embarrassed to be doing in public. I am so thankful that I don’t have to deal with that in my room. That is one benefit to her dating an Resident Assistant… he has his own room.

By midnight, Hank’s is packed. I decide to grab a bottle of water, and as I’m about to pay, I hear that oh so sexy voice. “I got that.” “It’s okay, Joe. I got it.” “No, I insist. I was an ass earlier. I didn’t mean to make you feel bad. It’s the least I could do.” “Damn straight! I’m proud of who I am and where I’m from. I just hate when damn Yankees come down here and then try to make us look like hicks. You don’t like the way we live, then don’t cross the Mason-Dixon,” I say as playful as possible. It did tick me off earlier, but I don’t want him to think I’m a bitch. “I swear I won’t do it again, and nobody is gonna pick on you eating squirrel but me,” he says with a smile. “Okay, I’ll give ya that.” “So Squirrel, you wanna dance?” “Mr. Scaredy Cat, I’d love to.” He takes the water bottle from me and leads me to the dance floor.

Casey’s Thoughts

I have been a Kylie Ryans fan since day one of opening Girl with Guitar!  Kylie is full of life, put herself out there, and has fallen for Trace Corbin… enough said!

Girl on Tour picks up where Girl with Guitar ends… Kylie is now an up and coming country music star.  She is going on tour with two other girls… which is going to get interesting!  (Put 3 girls on a tour bus, and their is bound to be drama!)

Trace, on the other hand, is having to tour with the female version of himself.  He knows this tour will make or brake his career… and it looks like the label wants to break him… hence, Gretchen Gibson!

Kylie and Trace put their relationship to the test.  Will it survive?  Will the media destroy it?  Those are questions that I continued to ask myself.  I will have to say that you see more of Kylie’s true colors within this book.  She is willing to stand up for people she believes in, but then doubts the one man that she loves.

Trace tries his hardest to be the man that he should be for Kylie.  He truly struggles with this both internally & externally.  I just wanted to take Trace, hug him, and tell him you are good enough.  You can be what Kylie deserves and much more.

This book isn’t happy go lucky.  In fact, I had a mix of emotions throughout.  You see Kylie grow in her self, career, and relationships with other.  Trace’s old habits are put to the test, and by the end of book 2, you will smile inside for Trace…. then you just might want to tell Kylie to put her big girl panties on!

I can’t wait to see the final Chapter in Kylie & Trace’s series…. Girl in Love releasing soon!

Casey’s Thoughts

Where to begin… that is the question!  When Consequences ends… you are left pissed, your heart has been ripped out, and you want to make Tony pay.  Truth… is everything it’s title says… it is the Truth for Consequences.

Within the Truth we see Claire grow.  She becomes the strong and independent individual that I knew she held deep inside.  She decides to take life head on and put her life back together without Tony… but for how long?

Within Truth, we meet new characters… one in particular will have you jumping ship for Team Tony & you will be Team Harry before you know it!

Harry is everything a girl could want… and when Claire  & Harry cross that line of no return… how will it effect Claire?  Is she able to get past Tony… that you will have to find out for yourself ;)

When it comes to Tony and his family, Claire has done her research.  She has discovered part of Tony’s past, but will she really be able to let him go?

In Consequences there were “seasons” of Tony in my review.  Within the Truth, the “seasons” are more of Claire.

Season 1:  Freedom

Season 2: Independence

Season 3: Hope

Season 4: A Damn train wreck!

I have to say that I am Team Tony all the way.  I loved Harry, but there is something deep, mysterious, & hopeful about Tony.  I desire for  Claire & Tony to have a normal life with no rules… maybe, just maybe!

Truth will allow you to understand Claire, but you will be on the edge of your seat waiting for Tony to arrive on the scene.  When he does, you might just be surprised by his actions.  You will realize that for once, we are glad that Tony keeps all kinds of tabs on Claire.

Personally, I loved Truth as it begins to explain Tony, his family, Claire, and how revenge, vendetta, & love all intertwine into one massive spider web… oh what a web we weave!  Now, lets see who’s going to be Convicted on Oct. 8th???  Who’s ready?
