Marcus from Incognito stops @HDcoverTherapy today!

Incognito banner

Welcome, today we are speaking with Marcus Aronson, the male lead in Incognito by Morgan K Wyatt.

Tell us a little about yourself.

Well, that’s actually my strength, people not knowing a great deal about me. I come into town to evaluate failing businesses and sometimes colleges for takeover. Knowing me might diminish my effectiveness at going unnoticed.

Rumor is you didn’t go unnoticed at Jefferson College. Can you tell me about that?

(He laughs.) Yep, maybe I wasn’t the best person to send for that project, but I am very glad I went, very glad. As a fast-talking New Jersey Jew, I stand out like a sore thumb in rural Kentucky. Everything is wrong about me from my accent to my clothes to my unexpected attraction to a certain buttoned-up writing teacher.

This sounds promising. Could you elaborate?

(He grins.) There she was with her wild curling red hair clubbed backed into one of those old lady hairstyles. Teresa, the teacher, favors dark business suits two sizes too large. Maybe she dons her disguise to hide the passionate woman inside, but she’s not fooling me.

It sounds like romance is in the air. Do you believe in love at first sight? Are you currently involved with anyone?

You are a nosy one. (Wags his index finger at the interviewer.) I am not a big one on love period, except I do know some happily married couples. It works out for some.

Nope, not involved with anyone at the current time. Couple of years ago, my former fiancée claimed I spent too much time at work. She left me while I was away on a business trip taking every major appliance in the house with her. Heard she hooked up with another workaholic executive. After that incident, the only women I’ve met up with are those who chase after me. It’s all good until they decide to chase after someone else.

That sounds so sad. Don’t you want to settle down with someone special?

(Marcus looks reflective and sighs.) Lately, I’ve given more thought to that since I am hitting forty. Back home, when I jog through the park I see this old man walking alone. I don’t want that to be me.

What are you going to do to change your path? What about Teresa?

Hey, are you working for the FBI? Maybe they need to hire you since you have an uncanny ability to weasel information out of me.  As for changing my path, I’m not sure how I can. I am flying to a new job site about a third of the year. No woman wants to put up with that. Worse, how could you have any type of home life?

As for Teresa, (rubs his hand over his face) she’s something special. I would like to get to know her better. (He grins.) She’d like to get to know me better too. Of course, when she finds out why I am really at Jefferson and that I am using a fake name, let’s say I might catch a flash of some of those hidden passions and it won’t be on satin sheets either.

Are you going to take a pass on the attraction between you and Teresa?

I didn’t say that. It won’t be easy, but it will be interesting.

Marcus, thanks for stoping by Hardcover Therapy today!

Blurb

Teresa Gallagher did not expect to become an old maid school teacher at the great age of thirty-six, but she does teach and is single. She also didn’t expect a gorgeous stranger to slip into her university writing class. The man claims a historical name as his own and an interest in writing. She has high school students who lie better.

Marcus Aronson specializes in small colleges with problems. His company usually gobbles up the college, lays off people and takes over administration. Jefferson is his latest project. He slips into a classroom to check out if a favorite professor might be the embezzler. What he finds instead is a passionate woman hiding behind a button up exterior. Someone needs to release Teresa from her inhibitions and that someone would be him. There were rules about mixing business and pleasure. Rules he intended to break.

About the Author

morgan k wyatt

Morgan K Wyatt, raised on a steady diet of superheroes, believed she could fly at a very young age. After using trees, barn lofts, sliding boards, and even a second story window as launch pads, she found her flying skills were limited to fast and downward. By the age of nine, her dreams to be a superhero needed some modifications, which caused her to turn to writing and horseback riding as alternatives to flying.

At the age of twenty, she had another chance at superhero greatness as being one of the few female soldiers trained for combat. The fact that women will be able to serve in combat soon indicates that all the witnesses to the grenade incident have retired. The grenade incident didn’t prevent her two sons or daughter-in-law from enlisting in the service. Having different last names probably helped.

Morgan recently retired from teaching special needs students to write fulltime, instead of in the wee hours of the night. With the help of her helpful husband and loyal hound, she creates characters who often grab plot lines and run with them. As for flying, she prefers the airlines now.

Casey’s Thoughts

Yes, it’s not Christmas yet, but what better way to get in the spirit with a new release by Tiffany King?  Cross Country Christmas is a quick, easy flowing, heartfelt, and comical book that had me cheesing, giggling like a school girl, hot and bothered, and created a new Christmas fairytale!

This isn’t your Hallmark Christmas movie!  It’s beyond that in my opinion.  When Jamie has to go home because it’s her mothers wishes, she never expects to see her high school crush on the same plane.  He shattered her :)

I laughed throughout this book because the experiences that Jamie and Grant face are comical.  For example, the “mini” car they have to drive, getting stuck in the snow, getting addresses as a couple, and Grant’s smart comments.

This novella is also heartwarming.  It takes you to a small town, much like Jamie & Grant’s hometown, where people go out of their way to help others.  You see the connection between Jamie & Grant, and what ends up being a hot new romance that was bound to happen just given the right circumstances.

This is a novella, and I will say that it had me wanting more. I”m hoping that this is a new Christmas tradition for Tiffany King because I didn’t want to see it end.  Then again, when it’s the FABULOUS Tiffany King, I NEVER want it to end!  So if you’re ready to get in the Christmas spirit, but with a romantic twist!  Then Cross Country Christmas is the novella for you!

On Tour with Fire and Ash!

20130914-101705.jpg

Today I want to welcome Allie Gail to

Hardcover Therapy!  Thanks for stopping by today!

1. What inspired you to write your first book?

To be honest, I just sat down in front of the computer one day and

started typing out a story because I wanted to see if I could

actually do it. Although once I began writing I couldn’t stop – it

had a snowball effect and I was having way too much fun with it. I

hadn’t done this since my creative writing class and had forgotten

how much I enjoyed it. Don’t ask how long ago that was either. I’m

not telling!

2. How did you come up with the title?

The main protagonist (or should I say villain!) is named Ash, and the “fire”

represents the passion he shares with Samara.

3. How much of the book is realistic?

Only the locations are realistic. I live near the beach, so I thought it would make an interesting setting.

I mean, who would expect to find a vampire living in a vacation

resort in Florida? The story itself is completely fantasy. Which is

a good thing because Ash is hardly what you’d classify as the most

upstanding citizen.

4. Are experiences based on someone you know,

or events in your own life?

No, not at all. They’re purely from my own warped imagination!

5. What books have most influenced your life most?

I grew up with the works of Judy Blume and

Beverly Cleary, so I’d have to credit them for instilling in me a

love for reading at an early age. But there are countless others as

well.

6. What book are you reading now?

I haven’t had time to read anything in quite a while! Let’s see…I think the last novel

I finished was one of Wendy Corsi Staub’s mysteries. I really enjoy

her books.

7.  When was the first time you ever wrote for a career?

I’ve just recently begun to view this as a career. I never would have envisioned myself as a published author, but I can say that it’s truly an incredible feeling to be afforded the opportunity to do something you love as a profession.

8.  Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you

about their work?

That is a particularly tough question,

because there are so many talented authors to choose from. Stephen

King has always been a favorite of mine. I love the diversity of

his work, and the uniqueness he lends to each of his characters.

And he isn’t afraid to take one of those characters, specifically

someone you most empathize with, and commit that person to some

horrible fate!

9. Do you have to travel much concerning your book(s)?

With the internet, it isn’t necessary! I spend a

lot of time doing online research to make the settings as realistic

and authentic as possible. While working on Winter’s Touch,

for instance, I became well acquainted with the beautiful area

surrounding Mount Hood. Not to mention Nethy Bridge, Scotland,

which is where Julian underwent his transformation. Fire and

Ash was somewhat easier since I live near the Gulf of Mexico

myself.

10. Who designed the covers?

Laura Shinn. I think she did a super job, and she’s a joy to work with!

11. Do you have any advice for other writers?

Yes – don’t stop writing! There are so many people with a passion for reading, and they need YOU to share your unique stories with them!

12. Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?

THANK YOU for your support, and for helping to breathe life into my characters! I

love the way each individual reader has their own distinct

interpretation of them.

13. Which character in Fire and Ash do you connect with the most?  Why?

I would have to say Dane Chandler. Mainly because he’s shy and socially awkward and never knows the right thing to say. And he gets himself into trouble without meaning to.

I’ve always had a predilection for doing just that!

14.  If you could have a super hero power, which would you choose and why?

Hm…invisibility at will, so I could mess with people. I have a twisted sense of humor. I guess that wouldn’t make me much of a super hero though, would it?

Thanks for stopping by Allie!

Synopsis:

To the humans employed at his beachfront resort, Florida real estate developer Asher Reid is known as a narcissistic womanizer and temperamental control freak.

To the secret, select group of immortals, he is the irrefutable enforcer of vampire law. Yet hidden beneath the charismatic façade lie the alpha’s true obsessions – adrenaline highs, nightshade and an enduring lust for depravity. Running from a faithless ex-fiancé

who won’t stop stalking her, Samara Porter hopes to find refuge working within the posh resort. But her tropical paradise houses an even bigger threat when she becomes the prime target for Asher’s unwholesome games. Seduced by his deviant desires, Sami quickly finds herself caught up in a world where pain and pleasure coexist,

testing the boundaries of how far she is willing to go to learn his corrupt secrets. And with her final test of loyalty comes a dark ultimatum – to kill for him…or face his lethal wrath. Are you ready to go someplace dark?

Chelly’s Thoughts

Samara “Sami” Porter has had it rough lately – she’s lost her job, her grandmother just passed away, and instead of consoling her, her fiancé Rick is off bangin’ some groupie chick. Looking for a fresh start, she lands a job in Panama City (a far cry from her hometown in Alabama) at a vacation resort owned by the incredibly handsome (and incredibly cocky) Asher Reid. Asher knows every woman wants him and he could care less about any of them – but there’s something different about Sami. She’s unimpressed by his looks and his money, and she refuses to give in to him, but he is determined to break her down and make her his.

Sami thinks she’s got Asher all figured out, but she has no idea. How could she know that he is the Alpha Vampire, and is solely responsible for keeping all vamps in check? She doesn’t even know vampires exist…but what she does know is Asher is beautiful…and dark. He scares her but at the same time, she is intrigued. He’s no more than an adrenaline junkie, surely he can’t be all that bad, right? What would happen if she opened herself up to Asher’s darkness? Could her newfound infatuation get her killed? Does Asher actually have it in him to truly care for a human? Or is she as disposable as the rest?

Fire and Ash is definitely on a new take on vampires. The plot is full of twists and turns and it pulled me in from the beginning and never let go. This is the second book in the Immortal Touch series, but you don’t necessarily have to read Winter’s Touch to understand this one. A lot of the story line does deal with Eva and Julian from the first book, but I won’t elaborate on that part and ruin their story for you here ;) I will say Asher kinda freaked me out but at the same time, I could sort of see his appeal. He didn’t exactly do it for me but if you have a thing for bad boys, you might want to give him a shot, but be prepared to ask yourself…are you ready to go someplace dark?

Excerpt:

As if on cue, the dark sky above the ocean suddenly exploded in bursts of blue and red.

The rowdy revelers along the beach cheered and applauded their approval.

Still on his knees, Ash maneuvered himself so he was directly behind her, one hand placed gently on her right shoulder while his soft breath tickled her neck. His left

hand reached stealthily around her. “Take the gun, Sami.”

She accepted it with shaking hands in the vain hope that he’d withdraw at the last second, tell her she didn’t have to do this, that it was all just a test of obedience and he’d never meant for her to actually shoot anyone. He couldn’t possibly be that warped, could he? To ask her to murder someone in cold blood, in the midst of hundreds of witnesses - surely the man wasn’t that depraved.

His hushed voice was sensuous against her cheek.  “Relax, baby. Just watch the fireworks. We’ll wait until they light the Thunder Kings. Some anonymous donor was thoughtful enough to contribute two hundred cartons of them. They have one hell of a report and the gunfire will blend right in.”

“Ash…”

Her anxious plea cracked helplessly and she found herself unable to vocalize anything further, all language forgotten as her mind raced desperately in search of an out. Refusal wasn’t an option with him. But it was possible, just possible, that the replacement magazine contained blanks as well…wasn’t it? She clutched that thought to her like a security blanket.

“Shh…” His lips brushed her jaw, trailing feathery kisses down her neck that reawakened her intense longing for him despite her predicament. “For me, sweet angel. Do this for me. Be perfect for me.” He was practically purring against her skin, seducing her with his charisma in a way that only he could. When he turned on the charm there was nothing she could deny him – nothing.

Not even this.

His hands covered hers over the grip. “Suppose I help you aim…just in case you get the notion to deliberately miss.” He forced her to lift the Ruger. “When I tell you to, I want you to unload the entire magazine. There’s a bullet in the chamber – you’re good to go. All you have to do is pull the trigger. Nothing to it, right?”

Nothing to it. Nothing at all.

All or nothing.

Her heart skipped a beat when the echoing reports filled the air, and the honey-sweet voice in her ear urged, “Go ahead, baby. Don’t fail me.”

She didn’t allow herself any hesitation, didn’t grant her conscience the time to form

a protest, simply closed her eyes and mindlessly squeezed the trigger. Again and again and again, until the weapon in her hands produced nothing but empty clicks that sounded in their finality even more ominous than the shots themselves and shewaited, waited with pounding heart…

There were no screams. No cries for help. The steady drone of voices from the beach went

on as before, the fireworks continued to boom and crackle in the night sky, and reluctantly she opened her eyes. Seated on the blanket beside Danielle, Laiken leaned forward to listen to something one of their group was saying, shaking his blond mane

with a broad grin, oblivious to his brush with death. Unharmed. Alive.

At her feet, the sugar-white sand was littered with empty shell casings. And against her ear was his soft, velvety laugh.

Review

Can I tell y’all how much I Second Chance Romance, I’ve been a fan!  Needless to say, every time a new book is on the horizon I’m on it like white on rice!

Conflicted is the the third book in the Battlescars Series.  It is Derek’s story.  Awe how I

Conflicted is exactly what it says… Derek’s life is full of drama, sex, love, hate, concern, surprise, heartache, heart melting, tears, pain, and a roller coaster of ups & downs!

There is more to Derek and their is one individual that knows all of his secrets, Joss, which is fellow band member Blake’s younger sister.  She has always been there and they have a connection that is on fire.  Between their past, present, and possible future… I loved how Joss & Derek were bad for one another, but perfect at the same time.  They will leave you all hot and bothered!  I promise! ;) When things get hot and then heads south, Joss bolts, but is that the end?

Fate kinda steps in when Brittany enters Derek’s life.  Will he be able to get over Joss?  Is she the perfect girl to tame this bad boy?  Personally, I really liked Brittany, but from the beginning, I didn’t know if she would be enough.  She is sweet, has a past, and takes Derek for what he is with no questions asked.

Battlescars III: Conflicted is exactly what the definition states,  ”experiencing or marked by ambivalence or a conflict especially of emotions.”  You will follow every emotionDerek faces, whether it’s with the band, Joss, Brittany, his father, or an unexpected “ex.”  If you have read Battlescars I & II then I know you are waiting for book III.  If you haven’t, you need to 1-click all 3 books because it’s a crazy train that you wanna ride!  I promise!

Excerpt

“Aren’t you just the charmer, Derek Scott,” I laughed.

He tilted his chin and his lips grazed mine in a slow, sensuous kiss. I started to pull back, but his hand held me in place.

“You’ve been drinking,” I reminded him. “You’re going to regret anything that happens in the morning.”

“I haven’t had that much. Besides, I’m going to spend the rest of my life regretting not having one last time with you. Please,” he pleaded.

Tears pricked my eyes and I nodded, crashing my lips back to his. His large, calloused hand ran up my back, pulling me as close as he possibly could. He helped lift my shirt over my head and unhooked my bra, slowly gliding it down my arms. I wasn’t nearly as gentle removing his clothes; I wanted to be skin to skin with him. I wanted to feel that connection, our connection.

Moments later, we were both fully undressed, touching, licking, and biting one another. There would be no holding back tonight. I started pumping his perfectly thick, hard cock while he swirled my taut nipples with his skillful tongue. Moving to a sitting position, Derek pulled me onto his lap and slid the thick head of his cock along my wet slit before stopping at my entrance. The look in his eyes told me he was giving me one final chance to back out; there wasn’t a chance in hell of that happening. I slowly sank down onto his hard length, enjoying the fullness that came along with it. Using his hands, he helped glide me up and down, finding a perfect rhythm. Not too fast, not too slow; a perfect balance of the two. Within minutes, my entire body was on fire.

“Derek,” I rasped. “I’m gonna come.”

My entire body was aching for release; every nerve ending was sizzling

Get to know Beyond Eighteen by Gretchen de la O!

Beyond18B

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000035_00029]

You asked…and they answered…I caught up with Wilson Mooney, Max Goldstein and Max’s mom Nancy Goldstein in late September.
Now that The Wilson Mooney Series has wrapped up and finally come to an end, people are curious about what’s going on in the lives of some of their favorite characters.
Wilson, Max and Nancy were gracious enough to sit down and answer your questions. They opened up with some real honest responses, let their guards down to some pretty vulnerable moments, and spoke candid about some really tough events in their lives.

Wilson, will you ever ski again? Ahhh, no, I don’t think so. Wrecking on a bunny slope is one thing, but then to be dragged down the hill behind a snowmobile? Let’s just say, it wasn’t my sport.

Max. Did you hesitate to give your job up for Wilson? Not for one second. I’m not saying that I didn’t love my job. I loved being a teacher. I valued the dedication and time that I put into it. But when I thought I was going to lose Wilson, nothing else mattered to me. I can always find another job…I won’t find another Wilson. And Wilson, did you contemplate telling Max not to leave his job for you? Well, at first I was totally shocked! As stupid as this may sound, I never thought about him ever being anything but a teacher. He’s very passionate about teaching, so when he told me he resigned, I worried that he would resent me for having to make that decision. I won’t lie, it scared the hell out of me.

Max. What was it about Wilson, in detail that allowed you to display your feelings for her? I mean, you obviously had them, and we are aware of when you made them known. But you were risking SO much. What was it about Wilson that made you sure enough of her and your feelings for her to make your feelings known, to her, and you family and ultimately, everyone? I think it was Wilson’s spirit; her determination to turn her life into something more than a victim of her circumstances. When I would watch her move she’d own her space, if that makes sense? She seemed so sure of herself. Even if it was bullshit, she never let on…not to me. So, I needed to know her; I wanted to have that part of her that made me feel alive again, complete. Was it a risk? Sure, but to me…the idea of never taking a chance with her, outweighed the risk of losing everything I had. I think I’ve paid enough in my life, for not making my desires known. I wasn’t gonna make that mistake again.

Max: BOXERS? BRIEFS? COMMANDO? Boxer Briefs

Wilson: Was there an instant attraction to Wayne? Well, come on, who wouldn’t wanna look at him. He’s gorgeous. No, really, I like Wayne, he is super sweet, and I hope he finds a nice girl. I was feeling it for Max, when I met Wayne. Isn’t that just the way it works sometimes? I wasn’t looking then suddenly, pow…all these guys are interested. The last thing I heard about Wayne was that he moved to Tahoe in California.

Wilson.. When you meet Max’s family you felt an instant bond. Why do you think you felt so connected? Hmmm, good question. I think I bonded with Nancy immediately because she was the mother I never had. She was the stability and strength I longed for but never got from my birth mom, Candi. I think the bond that developed between Frank and I stemmed from the desire to have a father figure in my life. If I could picture anyone I wanted for my father it would be him. Even with Max telling me how much pressure he got from his dad…he still had a dad. When I’m with Max’s family, I feel like I finally found home.

Max.. What made you finally give Wilson your phone number? I grew a pair; no, just kidding. I can’t tell you how many times I rehearsed in my head, how I was going to make a move. I was scare shitless. No really, I kept looking for moments where I could slip her my number. Even though she’d flirt with me, I was concerned she didn’t feel the same way, and I didn’t wanna come off creepy or anything. So that day Calvin had called me and was telling him about how her grandfather just passed away, and how she was all alone now. He was so tired of me talking about her, he said, just give her a note with your number, tell her if she needs to talk, call you. Changing my name on the note to Matt Gladstone…well, that was my idea.

Wilson.. Do you think the bond between Max’s mom and yourself will be the same? I sure hope so. I love Nancy, and even when I was hurt by her words, she wasn’t saying anything but the truth at that time. Nancy really is an amazing woman and we grow closer every day. I adore her.

Wilson: What’s it like to kiss Max? I knew this question was coming. Wouldn’t you like to know! LOL…No, seriously, kissing Max is like being swathed in my favorite blanket. He’s the perfect warmth, with just enough chill. He’s a hint of Aspen, with a splash of California. When Max presses his lips to mine, and his scent swarms around my head, all the sparks going off in every inch of my body collect low in my stomach…Truthfully, Kissing Max feels like I’m home. Yeah, he’s my home.

Wilson and Max. Since skiing and ice skating never seem to work out well.. Have you thought of vacationing somewhere sunny? Wilson: Ah, yeah, I want to go to Hawaii, Max keeps saying it’s overrated. He wants to take me to the Bahamas, we’ll see.

Max. Who is Matt Gladstone or how did you come up with that name? I knew this question was going to come up. It was my attempt at being sly, and if Wilson would have got it sooner…She would have known it was me, my initials, as someone else’s name. Matt Gladstone, didn’t exist.

Ms. Goldstein.. How do you feel about Max dating Wilson? Oh, gollie, a question for me. Heavens, I’ve been so wrapped up in listening to Maxi and Wilson, I didn’t realize someone would want to ask me anything…so, how do I feel about Maxie and Wilson dating? I couldn’t be happier. Wilson makes my son happy, I couldn’t ask for a better fit for my son and I absolutely adore her. Sure, Were you hurt to find out that Max and Wilson lied to you? I’ve put my foot in my mouth before with some of the things I’ve said, but it wouldn’t be honest if I didn’t say I wasn’t hurt by the way they went about their relationship. Under the circumstances, I understand why they did it. I wasn’t happy, but I understand. How are you doing since you husband’s death? Thanks for asking. Some days are harder than others. I have good and bad moments. Some days I miss him so much I can’t get out of bed, and there are days where it’s the exact thing that gets me up in the morning. It can be lonely, thinking about little things only he and I shared, and not having anyone to talk about them with. I’ve had to adjust to life without him and that is so hard. But I am determined to be here for my family.

MAX: What attracted you to Wilson…her being your student and all? I remember the very first time she walked into my class…my world stopped. She walked up, slid into the seat directly in front of me. I remember tripping over my words and wondering if she could see my heart slam in my chest. It was instant for me. It was like…my life came walking into the room and announced…I’m here! I know that sounds corny, even unbelievable. But it’s true. She has this confidence about her, a strength that I was instantly drawn to. She wasn’t like any other girl I’d met before;she seemed so much older than her calendar age. Even women I met closer to my age didn’t hold a match to Wilson. I don’t know…could it have been that we both had a broken past that needed to healed? Maybe…but when she showed up in Aspen…I knew it was meant to be.

Max: What’s the last song you listened to on your ipod? Run Right Back, by The Black Keys.

Wilson: If you really loved Max how could you have kissed Nick WTH were you thinking? Well, obviously I wasn’t thinking and I love Max more than anything in this world. All I can say was that I was pretty messed up, scared, and got caught up in the whole lot of bad…fast. It’s not an excuse, I made a terrible mistake. How are you going to build that trust back? Well, one moment at a time. Max is my first real boyfriend, first real love…hell, he’s my first real everything. So I hope with time, conversations, and understanding, hopefully, he will grow to trust me again.

Max.. Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us. I actually love to cook, and because Wilson hates it…it works out perfectly! So if it works out perfectly, what is your favorite thing you like to cook for Wilson? Breakfast in bed!

Max.. Do you think your father would have been more understanding about your relationship with Wilson? Or would you mom have handled it better if your father hadn’t just died? My dad would have been pissed at me for upsetting my mother and hurting my career. But, with that, he already had a soft spot for Wilson. I guess I’ll never really know. And I truly believe that my mom would have handled the whole situation better if my dad hadn’t died.

Max, can you forgive Calvin for his betrayal about your relationship? with Wilson? Yes, I have. Cal doesn’t handle pressure very well. He tends to fly off the handle…a lot. But we talked and well, he’s my brother.

Gretchen, what inspired you to write Wilson Mooney? I was in a real emotionally heavy section of Hindsight is 20/20 when Wilson came busting into my head…and from that day forth, I had to write her story. It was such a light moment…I had to find out what was going to happen to her and I am sure glad I did.

Beyond Eighteen

Max Goldstein has been confronted by death, betrayal, and unwanted expectations. He must work to find the delicate balance of a love that has been tested and a family that has been broken. Returning to the warmth of Wilson’s arms, he finds the only place he can be truly healed. Unfortunately, teetering on the edge of losing everything he’s ever wanted, Max must make decisions that pull at his sense of responsibility and push at his desire to protect the life he’s found with Wilson.

When Wilson Mooney is thrust into adulthood, she never expects her childhood demons to come knocking. Struggling to balance the delicate nature of her relationship with Max and the burning sting of betrayal; Wilson realizes she must dig deep within her soul to find forgiveness. Will she allow circumstances out of her control to shape her future? Or will she find the strength and maturity to go beyond eighteen and have the life she desires with the man she loves?

Will Wilson and Max ever get to have their happily ever after?

Synopsis

After escaping to a college town, Juliana Petersen was determined to put her troubled past behind her and make the most of life. She was satisfied with her current situation, or so she thought. It wasn’t until the day her new photography professor stole her parking spot that she realized there was such thing as lust at first sight. Now, she must struggle with the decision to break the rules and fall in love, or step back and let the chance of a lifetime pass her by—all while her past relationships come back to haunt her.

How many men will it take to break Julia’s hold on reality?

Warning: This novel contains sexual situations and is meant for adult readers ages 18 and up.

Review

Shuttered Affections is a story about how two lives can  intertwine and overcome the obstacles that are faced.

Julia has escaped a bad relationship, heartbreak, and is okay with the way her life is going.  She enjoys college, photography, and anything within the art spectrum.  She is isn’t looking for a relationship.  When some ass steals her parking space, and she is late for class with a new instructor her life takes a dramatic turn.  What she doesn’t realize is that this ass is her professor, and there is a connection between the two that is undeniable!

This is a great read and it’s hot!  One thing I really enjoyed about this book is the twist & turns with all the characters.  I’m certain that if these aspects occurred to me, I’m not sure I could have handled them or have been that open.  One aspect I kept waiting for was more of the ex… I just felt like he was going to show up more.  I guess you could say I was ready for a good ass kicking!  Guess I can hope for that in book #2!

If you are looking for a read that will have you hot, bothered, and saying seriously that’s where is stops for now?  Shuttered Affections is for you!

About the Author

Rene Folsom, author of paranormal romance and erotica, lives in Florida with her husband and three kids. She has officially diagnosed herself with creative ADD and, if it weren’t for her day job as a web programmer, she would have a million and one writing projects going at once. In addition to web design, she is also a graphic artist who loves to create custom book cover designs for indie authors. She is definitely an artist at heart and would love nothing more than to be elbow deep in clay during her waking hours.

Rene believes that all fiction is based on some form of reality—otherwise we would never have the inspiration or knowledge to dream up the realistic situations we portray with our words. She is proud to say that her personal experiences have been inspirational, though perhaps not always identical to that of her fictional characters. Where reality and fantasy diverge, however, must remain her little secret…
