“I’ll have a Martini…dry, please.” Gin was my alcohol of choice for the night. I wouldn’t get shitfaced to where I couldn’t drive home though, I knew my limits. But that didn’t mean that I wasn’t going to get a bit tipsy.

“Coming right up,” bartender number one spoke before he went about pouring my gin and vermouth into a silver shaker and giving it a liberal jerk of his wrist. Seeing the action had my cock stirring in my pants and images of him wrapping his hand around me moved to the forefront of my mind. I needed action and in a bad way.

He placed a Martini glass in front of me on a hot pink napkin and tipped the shaker up, straining and pouring my cocktail before adding an olive as an embellishment.

Giving me a sexy wink before he turned and made his departure towards the other end of the bar, I picked up my enticing drink and before taking a hefty sip, I said partially under my breath, “Happy birthday to me.”

Feeling the cool liquid slide so smoothly down my throat, I had to close my eyes at the exquisite taste of the perfect combination. It was utterly refreshing.

“So it’s your birthday, huh?” I didn’t even notice that someone had taken a seat beside me. This voice was oddly familiar and came out as a deep rumble.

Turning my head to the side I was surprised to see it was Deputy Ethan Bradley. I had never seen him around here before, let alone anyone really from Brown County. Although I remembered hearing something about him being gay, it was just weird seeing him on the opposite side of the spectrum.

He was sans uniform and in a pair of dark denim jeans, with cowboy boots peeking out from beneath his pant legs. I realized that I was taking entirely too much time perusing his ensemble. So I was already going this far, I might as well check out the rest of the package.

Continuing to skim my eyes over his extremely fine exterior, I took in that he was wearing a rather snug fitting polo shirt that was tucked into those amazing jeans, and it was topped off with a silver belt buckle. With the dimmed lights in the bar it was hard to tell exactly what his buckle said, but I imagined that if he was anything like me, it would be something naughty.

I picked up the toothpick that held the green olive from my glass and leisurely placed it in between my slightly parted lips, sucking the remains of my martini from the meaty, bitter garnishment.

Ethan couldn’t take his eyes off of my mouth, so I supposed I was being a bit seductive in my act to eat the olive. No harm in that, right?”

Casey’s Thoughts

Since the moment I picked up Stalk Me (#1 of The Keatyn Chronicles) I have been a fan. Jillian Dodd has a unique style of writing that I love and adore. This week I was ecstatic to read Get Me, the final book in the series, but I was also sad to see it end.

Get Me picks up exactly where Hate Me ends. Keatyn is ready to get her life back, but in the process she’s terrified that she might lose everything she’s fought for including her life.

Within this final story, we see growth as a young girl into a woman. Keatyn learns that she has to find calm in her chaos. For me, this is now a new expression I will use often in life. It is so true. We also have every question we have wondered answered.

This story is one that has pulled at every emotion. I have had my heart beat out of my chest, cried, laughed, and flat out giggled like a teenager. I feel that I belong at Eastbrooke and am a perfect as well.

This review is tough because I will not spoil the reveal of moon boy or any major events that occur. I will however say that there is one twist at the end that had me in tears. We all know that Keatyn was ready for a fight, and that’s exactly what happens… the question is, what is the outcome?

I was thrilled when I was offered a graduate teaching position at the prestigious Tennerson Girls Academy. At twenty-three, this would be my first ‘real’ teaching assignment. Which superhero stands out to you?  Spiderman? Wonder Woman? Batman? Thor?  What if the superhero brought pain to people that harmed women in the worst way possible?  In Dante’s Fire, that’s exactly what happens with Dante.  He has been given a gift that honestly, I wish was real.  Dante has been given the gift of fire.  Each time a man or men abuse women he marks them, and they are never able to harm another women.  To me I think this superpower kicks ass.

Dante has to decided in life that he will never find a spouse or a women to truly love due to his random leaving in the night.  He also never lets himself get close to women that are attached.  That is until he Selina not only crosses his path when she is mugged, but when she crosses his path daily at Inferno Enterprises.
Selina is a woman that has risen from foster care and made herself successful.  She has worked for everything she has accomplished.  When she is attacked Dante comes to her rescue.  As he helps her heal, lines are crossed, but she feels an internal pull between the man that visits her at night and Daniel, the office mailman.

Dante’s Fire is a story that touched my soul.  As a female, wife, and mother, your worst fear for yourself as well as my daughter is brought to the forefront.  I just hope that in life, we all have our own real life superhero that will fight and protect the women that they hold dear.

“Good evening, Mr. Lowery,” Emmett says calmly, but the expression on his face looks like he’s ready to about-face and run as I peek around the kitchen corner.

“Emmett, come in,” Grandaddy says flatly, and I try to resist the urge to giggle. They make their way into the foyer. “Rae will be out in just a minute, but I wanted to talk to you first.”

“Yes, sir,” Emmett replies.

“I expect you to take care of her, Emmett Bridges. She’s a good girl, and I love her more than life itself. If you hurt her, by God, I’ll make you wish you never stepped foot back into Pleasant Hill. Got it?”

“Yes, sir.”

“A’ight. Now, have her home by eleven.”

“Will do, Mr. Lowery.”

“Sunshine!” Grandaddy hollers. “Emmett’s here.”

On that cue, I walk into the foyer to meet him. When I round the corner, I see him standing there in a pair of jeans and a fitted polo, holding a bouquet of daisies. I feel as if the world stops spinning when I see him. A smile spreads across his face, but I can see he’s trying to refrain from a real reaction with Grandaddy standing there.

“You look gorgeous, Raegan,” Emmett states as his smile continues to grow.
