He let go of the door knob and put his hands on either side of my face and pulled me into him, our lips touching, needing each other like our next heartbeat. Who was I kidding, I did need him more than my next heart beat.
He lifted me up, and I wrapped my legs around his waist and hooked my arms around his neck. He walked back to my bedroom and laid me down on the bed, ever so gently. He unlocked our lips and looked at me, sweeping my bangs out of my eyes.
“You are the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen. I’ve waited so long to have you again…to taste you again, Khlo.”
I smiled, he was going to make me cry.
“For tonight, it’s just you and me, Khlo. No one else,” he said as he crashed his lips into mine again.
I finally convinced myself that this was real…that he was real and tonight, I was his and he was mine.

Holy Cow! I tell you what! JD Rivera sent me Chasing the Stars, and needless to say I feel like my heart is about to explode! I loved Guarded and Defensive, but Chasing the Stars takes her writing to a whole new level!
Mackenzie has a crappy life: family, housing, and just about anything that goes along with it. She never stays in the same place long, but when her dad loses his job again the move they make places Hayes in her path.
Hayes is your typically player. He doesn’t commit, and lets his expectations be known. When he sees Mackenzie in class, he’s drawn to her. After spending a little time with her, he knows that they are destined to be friends. Little does he know that Mackenzie needs him more than anything. He feels as if he is there to protect her, and boy does he ever!
With the crappiest of parents, Hayes is her escape, but when they finally bring her problem to the limelight what will happen to Mackenzie? I will tell you that when part one ends, I wanted to cry, scream, and tell JD that I’m in love with these characters and this story!!!!!!!
Chasing the Stars will make you fall in love, but it will also bring a major issue in our society. I finished the story on my flight to Tampa, and I was text in JD between connecting flights. I just prayed that Mackenzie’s stubborn self wouldn’t get in the way of her happiness!
If you’re looking for a story to make you feel then Chasing the Stars is for you!

Tessa is a total nerd. I mean down to the pleated skirts, but honestly, that’s who she was molded to be my her mother. She has a sweet boyfriend, Noah, who has barely passed first base in two years with her. She has a head on her shoulder and is focused on her education. That is until Hardin walks into her life, and from that point forward. She is never the same.
With the help of Steph, her roommate. Tessa finds a group of friends that are totally different, but she soon realizes that she wouldn’t trade them for the world. As time progresses, Hardin, makes her life hell. Over time, things change, but will they last?
Hardin has a scared past, and one that he doesn’t share with anyone. When Tessa pushes Noah and her mother away, she is left with Hardin. The question is will their love last or are the secrets he holds within too much for their relationship to bare?
Hardin is very closed off, but he shows himself in glimpses to Tessa. This is why she loves him, but she also loves the relationship that is building between his family. There were times I wanted to just smack Hardin for being such a jerk. There is no way in this world I could handle this relationship, but they do say that opposites attract.
Their relationship is put to the test the last few chapters. I fell in love with their emotions, realness, and the way they see each other for who they really are in life. What I totally didn’t expect was the ending. Well, I knew something was coming, but dangit, Anna Todd, I just want to know what is after, AFTER!
After by Anna Todd is a five star read. It left me speechless at the end. You will experience a whirlwind of emotions multiple times, but each and every one are well worth it. There is so much I could say, but I just might give too much away. So if you are looking for a book that will have you glued to the pages, AFTER is it! Thank you Anna Todd for consuming my life for the past 48 hours, but guess what? Now I want to know what happens after, After!
