Ugh. This is going to be a painful episode to watch. He’s definitely not ‘faking’ being mortally ill then ala the Dying Detective. (I’m sure it is TDD but in this version, he’s not faking it)

Aw man, it’s not a scene with John on the bridge but yet another with the lady in the red dress. So this may all be MP? Why do they have the pink/purple lights for that?  Hmmm.

Setlock Recap, 6.12.16
The crew was up early prepping North Gower Street to become our beloved Baker Street. Things seen going into 221 included an untreated wood door and a violin case. Then the door number went up, and it really felt like home.

Meanwhile, Reetu Kabra (PR) told us the cast had a press junket to attend.

Sue arrived at NGS, and Benjamin Caron and Nick Hurran were both on set as well. (There was some debate as to whether or not Rachel Talalay was there.) The crew took some pictures of the building across the street. Finally, a camera was loaded on a crane to film the first sequence of the day–supporting actors walking down Baker Street and then suddenly fleeing. (Video here: 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5) A newspaper on set featured a headline saying “Police set to reopen ‘Peckham Poisoner’ case” and another about a “hospital savior.” This scene is quite possibly part of episode 3, as it seems to have been Benjamin’s first bit of filming

After this scene, the crane got stuck for a while, but eventually they cleared the street. Then a variety of vehicles were brought in, including a a taxi, a black Jaguar, and the blue Audi from the Miles Street Tunnel scene. We got a glimpse from inside the flat, and Danny Hargreaves and the Real SFX van arrived to handle the rain effects. They filmed a brief sequence with supporting actors walking down the street in the rain.
Everyone, even Ian and Bunsen, arrived following the press junket, and the cast and creators chatted with fans and each other. (Video here: 1, 2, 34, and 5)
The rain effects were on again for a sequence with Ben and [still unconfirmed] Sian Brooke. Both were costumed the same as at Charles Street, and Ben was still sporting the scruff. In the scene, the woman in the red dress exits the flat, followed by Sherlock, and they walk off down the street in the rain.
The rain-making equipment was removed, Ben and Sian left, and a bus arrived on set. In the scene, the bus drives down Baker Street as a car–the black Jaguar, I believe–pulls up from the other direction. John gets out of the car and goes into the flat.

Una Stubbs arrived to film a scene (number 145) with Martin. John is on the phone and comes out of the flat in a hurry, heading into the street. Mrs Hudson comes out and calls after him, and he turns around. She throws something to him (which most of us presume to be keys), and he hurries off down the street instead.
Filming then moved around the corner to Stephenson Way. There was a cab and a police bike there, and filming seemed to be inside some of the vehicles, possibly the black Jaguar, which supposedly left followed by a cab. Martin and Amanda were both present, and either Ben or his double showed up later. At some point, Amanda left but Martin stayed.

Stuart Biddlecombe (DoP for s4e1) gave us a slate to celebrate finishing his portion of filming, but it’s unclear exactly when/where this is from.

(Thanks to the masses for putting in long hours at NGS to send all these pics and videos and reports back our way! I’ve tried to decipher the madness as best I can, but If I got something totally wrong, please let me know.)

What are we going to do? Why would there be anything to ‘do’ about the official script?

Curious. Reetu seems to like it a lot.

??Mary dead and Molly dead???

Hmmm. That would be interesting, wouldn’t it?

And Hudders dead, too, as we’d established earlier down the line. That’s certainly… interesting.

Sherlock is dying, too, by the way. Mycroft is no longer among the living. John Watson is the last man standing.

Hudders? How so? She has been in quite a few E2 scenes.

Mycroft perhaps. I know there have been things pointing in that direction.

Someone suggested that the presumed shooting or explosion at 221b NGS could have killed Mrs. Hudson. And Moftiss said that the script reduced the cast to tears. Well, this certainly would have.

The pride and the prejudice and the zombies all over again. ;)

Hmmm. Yes. That’s true. It did appear to be an explosion at 221B. Or at the very least, gunfire. But the ‘explosion of flavor’ sign on the bus does make me think it was/will be an explosion. And you’re right, Hudders was likely inside. (of course, Sherlock could THINK she was inside but she later turns up alive. dunno.)

Wow. So much to anticipate! I do wish we’d get a few more hints about how people reacted to the E3 reading.

I feel like every single of ACD's stories should starts like "I was fucking Holmes when...".

‘i was at baker street for no good reason because i don’t live thereTM, passing time staring at holmes and appreciating his wit, his beauty and unparalleled intelligence, when suddenly something happened and disturbed our peaceful domesticity. i totally have a wife btw’
