📚 Need a little pick-me-up? 📚

Hey there,Thank you so much for all the well wishes. I am well on the way to recovery now. COVID plus pneumonia was no fun, but our Starry looked after me and, well, who could resist that cute face?

Writing isn't physically strenuous, so I have been able to work in bursts. In addition to working with my editor on the new Roxy (#4), I have been writing Roxy #6 (which I'm loving,) and parsing out the opening image of the next Inspector Graham (so cute!)

This is how I go. In the break between fini...

Would you do me a favor?

Greetings,I hope you are doing well. I am decompressing from my trip, attending to a few things Stateside, and getting ready for my son's graduation next month in New York.It was so lovely to share with you my UK experiences. As I replied to readers who wrote to me, sharing them with you cemented the memories in my mind, so thank you for acting as my witness. And in the last few days of my trip, by the skin of my teeth, I got the new Roxy finished and off to the editor! This week I'd like to a...

📚 Bye-bye UK 📚

Hey there,Greetings, When you receive this, I'll be touching down again in San Francisco, two months after leaving for a trip to the UK. Someone asked me how the trip had gone. It has been by far my longest visit since I left the country nearly 27 years ago,  and I stayed in a cottage by myself in the countryside for the first time.

My answer to the question was that the trip had been “a series of adventures punctuated by moments of rest.”

From snow, fires, and unreliable buses, to meeting up w...

📚 Paris 📚

Hey there,Well, what an adventure I've been on. Since I last wrote to you, I've gone from being stranded by snow to navigating a fiery dystopian hellscape. But I tell you, to an author, it's all grist for the mill. Expect my experiences to be featured in a story or two now or in the future.

Today I have photos, offers, and reminders.

Paris

But first, the snow before I left. The UK got blanketed with snow a couple of days prior to my trip. Track to the farm got dodgy, so I left the village early...

The real life “St. Mary’s”

Hey there, Golden gang!I hope you had a gorgeous week. I have been beavering away in my cottage writing. I've also been hanging out with my family and catching buses. Or not.I had planned to show you pictures of a nearby town today. It's a terribly pretty place, but the bus didn't arrive to take me there! I waited so patiently at the bus stop on the right side of the road, too.I went to the local shop to enquire but was met with a shrug. “It's a village bus service, hit or miss.”Not to be th...
