I can’t stop watching this…

Hey there,

This week I have a fabulous offer for UK readers and a cheeky video for you to watch…

I can't stop watching this…

Shortly after I finished writing The Case of the Forsaken Child, a piece of news came to my attention.

Guernsey Police recently filmed a recruitment video that caused quite a stir on the island. (Guernsey is the second largest Channel Island, Jersey is the largest.)

When I heard about it, I had to watch it and so I scoured the internet to find it. I've now watched it, ooh ...

Good reads for the weekend

Hey there,

If you celebrated, I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving last week. Mine was quite superb. My Christmas tree is now twinkling at me and I have started longing for Ritz crackers, sausage rolls and mince pies, some of the food that I associate with the holidays.

This week I have news of new books. I started the new Annabelle on December 1st. Yay! I'm excited to be back in Upton St. Mary, or wherever Annabelle sends me. Barring accidents, it should be out around March.

In other news, two ...

Giving Thanks in 2020

Hello,

Here in the US, it is Thanksgiving. Three years ago on this day, I was just coming to the end of six months of surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation, treatment for breast cancer. I remember it like it was yesterday.

On the last day of radiation, I couldn't stop crying with relief. I cried under the radiation machine, during the counseling session afterward, the the bathrooms after that, and at the celebratory lunch with my friend when she gave me a “graduation” gift. The gratitude I felt s...

The Case of the Forsaken Child is live

Hello!

I am so pleased to announce that the seventh book in the Inspector Graham series, The Case of the Forsaken Child has hit the Amazon shelves.

The Case of the Forsaken Child is available on Kindle, in paperback, and is in Kindle Unlimited.

What reviewers are saying…

“A super seat-of-your-pants book.”

“Phenomenal! This was far more than a cozy mystery. The depth and the many layers of the story are captivating!”

“Be prepared for it to tug at your heartstrings.”

“This book, I think, is the b...

Don’t get left behind…

Greetings!

I'm getting closer and closer to publishing the next book in the Inspector Graham series, The Case of the Forsaken Child. Early feedback has been fantastic. I can't wait to share it with you.

To whet your appetite, I have a teaser below.

The Case of the Forsaken Child: A teaser

Plagued by devastating memories, Detective Inspector David Graham moved to the island of Jersey to put his past behind him. But he can't seem to escape the shadow of anger and guilt clouding his heart.

When an...

New Inspector Graham Cover Reveal

Hey there,

Something big happened this past week. No, not that thing. Another thing. I celebrated 24 years living in the US.

I still remember the journey clearly – collapsing into seat 34C on the Virgin Atlantic flight on October 30, 1996, the grilling I got when I arrived in the country and trying to stay up past 9 p.m. on my first night.

I was terrified of driving on the right and took tentative journeys every day until I suddenly had to drive 20 minutes on the freeway to meet someone. After t...

New Inspector Graham News

Greetings!

I hope you are having a lovely week. The new Inspector Graham went off to my editor at the weekend, a day early! This step is always totally exciting. I thought I’d share a little about my new baby with you.

The title…

Choosing a title for a book can be a bit like choosing a baby’s name – sometimes you have to see the end result before you can be sure. While I didn’t need to have the entire book finished, it was close. When it came to me though, it was like being struck between the ey...

A Delight

Greetings!

It was my absolute pleasure a couple of nights ago to see the first episode of the remake of All Creatures Great and Small.

If you are not familiar with it, ACGS is a series set in the 1930s about the travails of a young Glaswegian vet, James Herriot, who takes up his first post in a rural farming community in the Yorkshire Dales.

Super sweet, gorgeous scenery, and likable characters, I was transported back to the 1970s when I would watch the first series with my family on a Sunday ni...

Why Doing a Jigsaw Is Like Writing a Book

Greetings!

I had many questions about the jigsaw that I pictured last week. I do a lot of them, often giving myself 10 minutes with one as a reward for meeting a writing goal.

In my office, I have a special jigsaw table that can be folded up and moved around. This means my work on the puzzle can be protected from Star, our cat. I had to wait six months to get the table shipped, but it was worth it. Losing countless hours thanks to a leaping cat skidding across my jigsaw to protect her humans fro...

Your Questions Answered

Hello, I hope you are having a lovely day.

I am fortunate to have a little oasis at home that I retreat to daily. There, I work and screen myself off from the outside world. I can focus on whatever world I’ve created in my head (currently Jersey) and transfer my thoughts on to the page.

In my space, I also have my jigsaw table. This week I finished my latest puzzle. Between Jersey and London, I get a break from the craziness of the time we are living through. I hope you have a similar place to r...
