Overall the stars on this anthology was 5 stars. Not all the stories were equal, but a few were standouts - Sara Ney,  Meghan Quinn, LJ Shen, Kate Stewart and that's to name a few. This was a stellar cast of authors and the novellas that went with them were really awesome. I usually don't enjoy Novellas because you don't get enough flavor to the the story, but these - these had just enough❤❤ Make this your go to Anthology this Christmas!

His gaze shamelessly took in her silhouette against the evening sun, and he edged closer. Yet with each step, it wasn’t enough. Rather like a magnet, she pulled him in, and he didn’t want to fight the impulse.Softly, he reached up and tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear, his body heating as she met his gaze, then shyly diverted her eyes. He traced his fingertips down her neck then gently grasped her shoulder, encouraging her to turn and face him fully. Anticipation flooded him. Her breath quickened, and her pink tongue darted out to caress her lower lip, enticing him. Deliberately, he leaned forward, watching as her eyes widened, but quickly she stepped out from his hold, putting several feet of distance between them.“No. I can’t.” She wrapped her arms around her waist, hugging herself. Her eyes were bright with suppressed excitement, encouraging him.“Why?” he asked, stepping forward.Laken edged back. “This is the very definition of conflict of interest.” She arched a brow but grinned, her posture relaxing.“I’m not going to take no for an answer.” He gave a small grin in return, taking a step closer.

“Are you complaining?” Laken turned, taking a few steps backward on a flatter portion of the hike.“No, ma’am,” Cyler replied, starting toward her.“Good.” She giggled and finished the hike with him not far behind. When Cyler reached Laken, he grasped her hand in his and kept it tight the whole way back to the ranch. The sunset’s glow made her face appear even more flushed, and he couldn’t help the smug satisfaction that he’d done that to her. It had been a long time since he’d felt that way, since he’d even wanted a woman to wear his kiss. It was disconcerting, yet electrifying all at once, but as much as he wanted to ride the wave of excitement, he felt the familiar suspicion creep in, the kind that made him question if this were truly real.Because heaven only knew how he’d been fooled before.Cyler glanced over to Laken, meeting her gaze and smiling before he back to gazing out the window.The past was the past. I've been largely critical of this series because I loved The Corp Security Series so much and this book was sooo much better than the first and second book. The growth between the novels is extraordinary and I loved Clayton a lot more than I liked Maverick. Yes, he talked about his feelings but it wasn't so in your face. I really liked Caroline's character and she reminded me of the female lead from Axel in the Corp Security Series. The similarities were striking and made for an interesting storyline. There were things that were predictable, but at the same time I just enjoyed it all the same. Overall, if you're a fan then you'll want to have this as an addition to your library.

EXCERPT:“Izzy?” she answered. “Hey, I’m home,” I told her. “Okay, well…how are you?” How was I? Johnny’s behavior explained by the sad fact it was the anniversary of his father’s death, but still explained, and he was coming over for dinner the next night, not to mention, after not being affectionate (at all, unless you counted sitting me on the countertop, which I kind of did) after the last time we’d had sex, he made out with me at the door of my car for a good, long, happy while—I was great. “I’m great,” I told her, opening Serengeti’s stall and moving in, lifting a hand to pat her jaw while she moved her nose to snuffle my neck and blow at my hair. “Damn,” Deanna muttered. Review

This is a book that I could give my mother to read and not be afraid that she'll have to put it down because it has something in it that I'd be embarrassed that she's reading. It was totally unlike the authors hockey series or romantic suspense series. I found myself enjoying the world she created and enjoying the fact that I could listen to this on Kindle and not have to apologize for language or sexual content. It was a change and I loved that! The storyline flowed and I loved Adeline's character. All of the authors characters that she creates are different, they never overlap - this makes for a good book. When you're just reading the same book over and over with a different title, it gets a little old and this book was different.
