Weasel Press - Weasel Press Chapbook Contest
Weasel Press has decided to extend our chapbook contest deadline! We’ll be accepting blind submissions until November 1, 2015. We love the existential, beat poetry; poetry that thrives on showing us the current state of the human condition. We encourage poets to get experimental with their work, slam it into us. Don’t be afraid to really twist your readers with your words. Details about the contest are listed below. We ask that you read our guidelines and review some of the work we have published before submitting to us. This will allow you to get a better feel for who we are as a community and what we enjoy.
Winner of this contest will receive 20 free copies of their chapbook and a cash prize of $250. 1 winner will be selected, the finalists of this contest will be reviewed for publishing projects for our 2016 line up.
Rules:
-Must not have a current or pending project with Weasel Press
-Must not be an editor or staff member of Weasel Press or it’s affiliate magazines (The Haunted Traveler, Degenerates, Vagabonds: anthology of the Mad Ones, Typewriter Emergencies).
-We will not be accepting Simultaneous work for this contest.
-Chapbooks must be unpublished as a whole (individual pieces published in magazines are fine).
-There is a one time $15 entry fee.
Submissions are accepted through submittable. The contest will take place in two rounds and have been broken down below. Round one will be open submissions. In Round 1 we ask that entrants submit a sample of their chapbook, roughly 3-5 poems. Nothing that identifies the poet can be on this manuscript as it will be read blind. Samples must be one poem per page, Times New Roman, 12pt font and Single Space (unless your poem has special formatting). We only accept files that are DOC, DOCX, RTF. Submissions for round one will end November 1, 2015
Our editorial committee will select 10 contestants to move onto round two. Round two poets will be asked to supply a full manuscript and a video of themselves reading a few poems from that manuscript (3-5 poems is fine for the video). Full Manuscripts should have 20-30 poems in it. Anything below 20 will get rejected without review. Full manuscripts will not be blindly read since we are asking for videos. Contestants will receive an email with an updated submittable link to upload their files, as well as a deadline to get their submissions in by.
Out of these 10 contestants, the committee will select 3 finalists, one of which will be the winner of the contest. Finalists will be reviewed for possible publication in our 2016 lineup.

We’re a press that focuses on sex. We love it, want it,...

We’re a press that focuses on sex. We love it, want it, need it, etc! Red Ferret Press will soon start seeking submissions that really explore the erotica world. We’ll be looking for authors that aren’t afraid to push boundaries and take their work as far as they can. We know every press says that, but we really do mean it. We’re not the supermarket romance novels you see, we’re real people exploring real sexual situations and desires. Our goal is to make erotica cool in the literature world; to burn the stigma of over sexualized paranormal romance. There’s so much more to it than pretty eyes and pages of hot staring action.
Red Ferret Press is an extension of Weasel Press. We are owned and operated by the same person, Weasel. RFD will look for several kinks and topics regarding the erotica world. We plan to be open minded about your specific kink or perversion, everyone likes something, and we’re not pretentious enough to judge. All work will be looked at based on how well your work is written. We have a pretty high standard and expect to maintain it. Keep it real, keep it well written, and keep it within our guidelines.
As we progress, we’ll start calling for submissions. We’ll probably throw out an anthology or two just to have some samples. Red Ferret Press will update through it’s own social media once it has been created. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us!

Coming soon, the first release of Typewriter Emergencies, a collection of psychologically damaging and hard hitting furry literature. It’s a mad world we live in, a world where we are still uncovering some of the darkest of our secrets. We were asking a lot when we started our submission call. We were asking our authors to really dig the knife into their story; to give us the real maddening details, the secrets, the loss of control. And they did just that. This anthology has a total of thirteen gut-wrenching stories from several talented individuals. It’s a collection that drops the reader into thirteen rough worlds without anything to protect themselves, only the leadership of the characters they’re following. Each author handles a different aspect of the universe, touring the reader through some rather diverse struggles. Typewriter Emergencies is a journey not lightly made, and one that will definitely leave a deep impression on our readers. Weasel Press is proud to have our first furry collection on the books and we hope you will enjoy every moment this intense anthology has to offer.
For our first release, we’re featuring: Gareth Barsby, Con Chapman, W. B. Cushman, Dwale, Phil, Geusz, Junior Gordon, Renee Carter Hall, G. Miki Hayden, Amethyst Mare, Jerod Underwood Park, Mark Plummer, Neil S. Reddy, Timothy Wiseman.

The Hell Inside Us - Weasel
I am happy to announce that my poetry collection, The Hell Inside Us, is now available! Go grab your copy! Support indie artists, support indie publishing!
The Hell Inside Us is a collection of poetry about the rough spots of life. It’s about the living through bullying experiences, through being discriminated against because you identity as a member of the LGBTQ community. This collection discusses and identifies issues that are still circulating much of society regarding these topics. The collection also focuses on other sucky aspects of life, such as getting your car repossessed, failed romances and the anxiety and addiction that comes from them. It’s a long story, but it’s one I’m happy to have out.
You can purchase copies of the book on Amazon and at my personal website. I’ll also be promoting the book through a few readings here and there. Grab your copy today and take one hell of a ride!

Since 2010 I’ve been in a constant state of financial and emotional disarray. Between then and now, I’ve had my car repossessed, got it back and have been close several times about it beign taken away again and again (I’ll be happy to be out of that one when the mess clears). I’ve been in and out of love with someone who I know won’t reciprocate, and that’s alright, I’ve moved on. I lived with a father who couldn’t accept the fact that I was gay. We don’t speak anymore. I’ve found the love of my life and hopefully we’ll be able to actually have a life together outside of all this horseshit pile of debt weighing over me. Every so often there’s close friends who are no longer with us, return as ghosts. Their hauntings come and go. I’m crawling, y'all. Just some dude in Texas that has it rough. Ain’t that about a bitch.
I’m not telling this story in hopes of getting cash. Fuck that. Cash, no cash, you learn to deal with shit when it comes. I’m telling this story because I think it’s something worth sharing. I know there’s a fuckton of people out there with similar issues; that understand the angst and crippling foundation of inner peace you got to find. I haven’t found it yet, but I’m searching. And that’s really all you can do.
This book, The Hell Inside Us, is a very personal collection for me. I’m happy to see that it’s finally getting released and it’s going to be hella crazy promoting this thing. If you’d like to grab a copy, I got them on preorder. I’ll personally sign every copy that’s purchased from me, and I’ll try to find some cool book swag to send your way. I’ll also give you a shout out at my next reading, which I always film so you’ll see it up on youtube soon. You can purchase this book, and all my other books I’ve put out at my store! I’ll sign those too if you grab one. :)
