Leah Morgan was done with men. After barely surviving a horrendous childhood, and a boyfriend who bailed when things got rough, Leah had given up on love. Then she met him, Hollywood’s new golden boy who suddenly had eyes only for her. She tried to convince herself that one night couldn’t hurt, but after six months, the memories of his mesmerizing gaze and searing touch still invaded her every thought.

Declan James had just one rule when it came to women. Keep it simple, and never linger. That all changed the moment he met Leah. Even across a crowded bar, he could tell she was different. Sweet, with just the right amount of sass, she made him break his golden rule and now he couldn’t walk away.

When casual becomes anything but, and emotions run deep, will Leah and Declan fight their fears, or let old insecurities tear them apart? When Declan’s past comes roaring back in a way neither of them could have expected, will they stand united or be torn apart by the challenges that lie ahead? It was only supposed to be one night, but only forever will do.

We also get to share with you the book trailer, made by the incredibly talented The Book Chick, who's done an amazing job!

"So, when exactly do I get my striptease?" I asked. "Well, that's up to you, Hotshot."

"Hotshot?"

"Yep. Cocky attitude, arrogant disposition, and sexy as fuck--it's a good nickname."

"All right, so what are your terms, Leah?"

I fought back the urge to touch her. Stuffing my hands into my pockets, I paced the room in a vain attempt at keeping myself from just saying, Fuck it, and pinning her against the wall before she could lay down any terms or requirements. Because whatever she was about to say, I was going to agree. She didn't know it, but she had my balls in her perfect little hands, and I was at her fucking mercy. I both hated and wanted her at the same time. She made me feel out of control and weak with need. I couldn't stop the pursuit, and I couldn't walk away.

"I will not be an easy fuck whenever you get too lazy to find a new bimbo for the evening. I will not allow you in my bed, wondering where you've been and what kind of sloppy seconds I'm getting," she declared.

Then, she said the one thing I never wanted to hear.

"I want to be exclusive with you--for however long we decide to do this. I don't care about labels or dates. You don't have to take me out to dinner, bring me flowers, or buy me anniversary presents. The only thing I ask is that, for the time we are together, you are mine."

"Yes," I answered immediately, surprising us both.

"Yes? That's it? No counteroffer? No freak-out or temper tantrum, Declan?"

"No, Leah, no temper tantrum. Just one request."

I joined her on the sofa. My thigh brushed hers, and I heard her breath falter.

"And what's that, Hotshot?"

"Make it two," I amended. "First, the same rules apply to you. While we're together, for however long, you're mine, Leah," I purred against her ear.

Her eyes widened, and her breath became ragged, giving me a quick sense of satisfaction because I'd broken through her calm and collected exterior.

"And second?" she asked timidly.

"Don't fucking call me Hotshot."

She visibly relaxed and snorted out a laugh before saying, "So not happening, Hotshot."

Chapter 1
The Big Apple
Walking through the crowds, I gazed out of the vast window at the sparkling lights of New York. “Does he know I’m here?”

Daniel shook his head. “You asked me not to say, so I didn’t. I’m really glad you’re here though. He’s been fucking miserable since we left Long Beach. Besides, with you here, I have someone to talk to and keep me from going crazy. Things are about to get real hectic at the company. You sure you know what you’re in for?”

I gave him a puzzled look and he smiled at me. “Guess not. Well, you’ll learn.”

Daniel wasn’t just Jared’s driver; he was his friend, even if Jared didn’t realize it or choose to admit it. I felt that the two of us had also become friends. After all, he’d had my back so many times I’d lost count. When I’d been arrested, it was Daniel who’d called Jared and, as it turned out, broken several traffic laws to get to him. That awful night at Felix’s apartment would have ended a lot differently had Daniel not called Jared and warned him of our activity. I had a lot to thank him for and keeping him company during our time together, was the least I could do. I figured that it must be lonely work driving Jared around, sitting there, in the front seat, a screen between them. It all seemed awfully secluded, isolated and impersonal.

I was not going to be one of those high society girlfriends that I saw in magazines and newspapers. The ones that look as though they have caramel stuck to the end of their noses and pout a lot when people speak to them. I was definitely not buying into the hype of that lifestyle. Daniel was stuck with me now, and I was determined to have some fun.

“Do we have to go straight to the apartment? Will he get suspicious if you’re gone?”

He eyed me skeptically. “I guess not. I told him I had to run errands and he’s been so distant, he just kinda nodded and dismissed me. I could have been naked and dancing, and he wouldn’t have noticed. He’s really not himself right now.”

My heart sank. My intense, hot mess, businessman was in pain, and I was the cause. Bitch.

I was desperate to see him and put him out of his agonizing misery, but I was also determined to get to know Daniel better. I was going to be spending a lot of time with him during the next few months and aside from Jared, he was the only person I knew in New York and I hardly knew him at all.

Reaching the exit, Daniel gestured to the shiny, sleek Mercedes parked curbside. I smiled at the familiarity of it. He opened my door and ushered me inside before running around to pack my case into the trunk. He got into the driver’s seat and glanced back, smiling at me. I leaned forward and rested my hand on his shoulder. “I’m starving. Dinner?”

He gave me a look that told me he was unsure if it was such a good idea. “I don’t know. I mean, aren’t you anxious to see him?”

I shook my head. I wasn’t anxious to see him; I was freaking out from nerves and the more I worried, the harder my stomach churned. “Nope. I’m Hank Marvin and I need something to eat before I throw up from nerves.” He chuckled.

“Hank Marvin?”

I nodded. “Yeah, you know, starving? I heard it on TV once.”

He threw his head back and laughed. “Since you put it that way, I’d be happy to have dinner with you. There’s a burger joint just around the corner, or do you want something a little fancier?”

I shrugged. “I think, a nice juicy burger sounds awesome.”

* * * *

Sitting in the booth, I scanned my surroundings. New York was a far cry from Pasadena or even Long Beach. It was almost eight in the evening, and the streets were still bustling with people.

The burger bar was quiet though. It was one of those nineteen fifties diner types and had a jukebox playing in the corner. The waitress rolled over on her skates and placed the most enormous cheeseburger that I had ever seen in front of me. The smell of greasy food and the delicious vanilla from my creamy, ice-cold milkshake was a welcome scent. Every single bite of my meal was like a taste of heaven. I really was hungry. I hadn’t eaten properly in days and I finally had my appetite back. I was definitely looking forward to my first New York bagel, too. Bagels. Coffee. Ollie.

My heart plummeted into my stomach again and I suddenly lost my appetite. My chest felt tight, and I could feel unshed tears begging to be released.

I could only imagine how broken he was right now. I’d done a horrible thing and I’d done it over a text! It was selfish, cowardly, and I deserved whatever hate or anger he was feeling toward me. He hadn’t replied or called since, and I knew that we were not only done as lovers, but also as friends. He’d never forgive me now, and I didn’t deserve him to.

Daniel frowned at me. “You okay? You seem a little distracted. You’re not having second thoughts are you?”

Snapping out of my mood and forcing thoughts of Ollie out of my mind, I shook my head. “No. I’m just a little tired from the flight.”

He smiled and took another big bite of his burger.

Pushing my plate away, I leaned back and cocked my head to the side. “So, I guess you’ll be keeping me company while Jared works, huh? I hope you don’t mind. I promise not to be high maintenance and to make it as much fun as I can.” He grinned and pushed his plate away, cleaning his hands on a napkin.

“It’s my job to take you wherever you want to go. Jared doesn’t usually use the Mercedes unless he’s going to a formal dinner or social. He’ll take the Jag so that leaves me at your disposal. Shopping shows and sightseeing … I’m the man to take you there, with Jared’s permission, of course.”

Jared’s permission? I rolled my eyes and shook my head at the statement. The whole time we’d been together he seemed to think he could dictate where I could go, how, and with whom. Things were going to change and for the better, I hoped.

“You leave Jared to me. I want to see everything, all the sights this city has to offer, and Jared is not going to stop me from having fun. I’m an adult and it’s time he started treating me like one.”

Daniel nodded, but I could see he was conflicted. “Well, if anyone can handle him, I’d say you can. Speaking of Jared, we should probably get going. You ready for this?” I bit my lip and smiled. I was so ready I was practically giddy with anticipation. Rolling his eyes, Daniel paid for our meal, even though I’d begged him to let me and we made our way back to the car.

I sat in the back because I needed a distraction as my nerves began to swarm in my stomach. “So where’s home for you Daniel?” He looked at me in the rearview mirror. “Illinois. I moved to California when my dad got transferred to another division of his company. I was about thirteen. My mom moved back to Illinois after the divorce, though. How about you?”

“Pasadena.”

He nodded and smiled. “Small town boy, small town girl, and here we are in the Big Apple. Have you ever been to New York before?”

I shook my head. “Other than San Francisco, I’ve never really traveled beyond Long Beach. You like it here? I mean, you must be here a lot with Jared and his business.”

He glanced in the mirror at me again, and I saw his eyebrows furrow. “Can’t say I hate it or love it. It’s where I am. I have an apartment here that Jared pays for and I look at it as just another place I work. It’s not like I vacation here or anything. I’m on duty all week and some Saturdays, so I never really thought about whether I like it. I hardly know it. I’ve never seen the sights or anything else New York has to offer outside of the functions I drive Jared to.”

I felt bad for him and decided then, that I would do everything I could to make his time and mine in New York more fun.

“I guess we’re both gonna have to make New York home for now. Stick with me, Dan. I intend to have lots of fun while I’m here.”

He smiled and chuckled a little. “Dan?”

I blushed.

“Do you hate it?” He shook his head.

“I like it. Dan. Yep. You can call me Dan, Miss Jennings.”

I grinned and leaned forward to his seat. “And you must call me Layla. Deal?” His smile widened. “Deal. Well, we’re here. I’ll get your bags and give you a minute to breathe. You look a bit flushed.”

I looked at myself in the rear view. I was beet red. Nerves were no longer swarming; they were twirling like a tornado in my stomach.

We’d pulled up in front of an impressive building. With its white brick and elegant golden window frames, it was certainly extravagant and definitely expensive. One look at the name above the golden-framed glass door told me I was right. ‘Garrett Towers.’ It was one of Jared’s for sure.

My eyes immediately darted to the top floor where he would no doubt have the penthouse. My heart did a little skip and my insides twisted.

Opening my door, Daniel smiled and held my bags in his hand.

“Ready?” Now there was a question I couldn’t answer.

Ready to go up there? Absolutely.

Ready to see Jared? Oh good God, yes.

Ready to leave my old life behind and start my new one with him? Well, that would come eventually. Wouldn’t it?

The doorman saw me exit the car and nodded at Daniel. “Layton, this is Miss Jennings. She’s here to see Mr. Garrett. Would you please grant her entry while I park the car?” The large and burly gentleman scanned me from head to toe as I stood awkwardly on the sidewalk. I bit my lip anxiously.

Opening the door, he smiled politely. “Of course. Right this way. Let me take your bags for you, ma’am.”

Daniel grinned at me and nudged my arm, immediately pulling me from my dazed state. “You gotta go in there some time. He’s going to be thrilled to see you. Go on. Get in there, girl.”

I beamed back at him and threw my arms around his neck.

“Thank you so much, Dan. Wish me luck.” He snorted.

“You don’t need it. He’s crazy about you. I’ll catch you later. Have a good night.” Giving me a wink, he got in the car and drove away toward a large pair of iron gates, which I assumed, led to the parking lot beneath the building

Layton cleared his throat loudly. Giving him an apologetic look, I followed him inside.

The foyer was a gleaming white and the front desk was a beautiful ivory stone with gold trim. It matched the marble floor perfectly. I stood at the elevator and fidgeted mindlessly. When it finally chimed and the doors opened, I was so caught up in my thoughts; it startled me a little. I could hardly breathe as we entered, and as Layton reached for the keypad, I caught his hand in my own. “I just need a minute.” Taking a deep, calming breath, I held my nerve and nodded at him. He pressed the ‘P’ on the panel, and I hitched a breath as the doors closed and we headed, rapidly, to the penthouse. Well, here we go.

Born and bred in Essex, England, Marie Coulson discovered her love of writing in her early teens. Beginning with poetry and song lyrics, she tried her hand at creative writing while studying for her English GCSE.

It was love at first line.

Unfortunately, Marie's career as a childcare and education practitioner soon took up most of her time and writing became something she only dreamed about.

In the summer of 2012 she quit her job and enrolled at university, ready to start a new career as a therapist. This left her with a lot of time on her hands and on August the 20th she sat down and wrote the first chapter of Bound Together.

Bound Together was a story that had been waiting three years to be written and when fingers hit the keyboard...Layla, Jared and Ollie's story was born.

Marie has since written and released two novels in the Bound Together series and a novella. Her romantic comedy novel Diary Of A Dieter has also received excellent reviews and is the debut novel in the Confessions series.

And - because we loved these books so much we've created a giveaway so you can love them as much as us.  There's ten books from our list up for grabs so be sure to enter the rafflecopter at the bottom of the post.

Making Faces by Amy HarmonMy pick of best book of 2013

Have you ever read a book that just left you speechless? Left you wanting more even though you received your happily ever after? I'm still at a loss of words on how absolutely stunning this books is. There's not many books I can honestly say I wish I'd written and this is one of them. It's witty, heartwarming and soul searching. It grabbed on to my soul and never let go. It's been several weeks since I finished it and I'm still gushing about it. I've told everyone to read it. You will not be the same when you finish it. Bravo Amy Harmon!

Fighting Redemption by Kate McCarthy This was a recent read for me but one that struck a chord.  Apart from the fact that it was beautifully written, the intensity of the emotions it evoked made it incredibly powerful and memorable.  Ryan and Fin's connection was just beautiful and their struggle to accept what was possible was not an easy one to read.  Being set in Australia (and written by an Australian) I could really relate to places and characters.  And I just loved the honour given to our servicemen and women - it reminded me just how much they give and how grateful we should all be to those that chose a life in the armed forces.  Oh, and Kate McCarthy released a bonus chapter on her blog - which you MUST read (here), but only once you've finished Fighting Redemption.

A Different Blue by Amy Harmon  Again another book by Amy Harmon. I loved A Different Blue. It was different than anything I'd read and dealt with several different topics. My heart broke and I cried for Blue Echohawk. It was a powerful read that kept thinking about it long after I'd finished.

Sweet Thing by Renee Carlino"you have to teach your heart and mind how to sing together
... then you'll hear the sound of your soul"

There were so many things I loved about Sweet Thing.  For me it is one of those books with so many messages that it should be read multiple times.  I loved watching Mia struggle, I loved Will's passion and patience and the way he never lost sight of himself, even as he sought to be there for Mia.  This one is definitely on my re-read list and one I hope many others will enjoy.  And the best bit?? There's more to come ... Sweet Little Thing is a novella from Will's perspective and and is currently scheduled for release in March 2014!  CAN. NOT. WAIT!!

Falling for Hadie by Komal Kant  This is was a book I'd picked up on a whim. I knew nothing about the Author but once I started it, I couldn't put it down. I balled my eyes out and the story was nothing short of amazing. I didn't know until after I'd finished and went searching for more that there was another book that actually was before this one. This obviously can be read as a stand alone. It was a moving and powerful story. I love the overall message of this book. Now I have to read everything by Komal Kant. She's an amazing Author and more should know who she is.

Amazon

The Things We Can't Change Parts 1-3 by Kassandra Kush This series has been simply amazing - I am in love with Evie and Zeke and cannot wait for part four to find out what will happen for them.  This story tackles a number of difficult subjects: an abusive relationship, self harm, dealing with peer pressure, "class separation" and deals with them all incredibly well - so well that you find yourself invested in the characters regardless of the role they have in the story.
The dynamic between Zeke and Evie is just fantastic - as they struggle to understand what it is about each other that keeps them coming back, as they recognise their similarities and fight against their differences this beautiful friendship unfolds.  I can see myself re-reading this series many times (although Kassandra I'd really like to read Part 4 please, really soon!!).

All the Pretty Lies by M. Leighton

I stayed up until the butt crack of dawn to read this book. I had to be up by 5:00 for work. I could not put it down. I love Sloane's character but Hemi? Hemi is something else. Dude, Hemi is my top book boyfriend at the moment and I don't see it changing any time soon. I saw so many possibilities with this series morphing into a crap load more books, which left me so excited when I saw that book 2 would be arriving shortly. Best new series bar non for me. If you haven't read it, you are sorely missing out. Plus, I kinda dig the Author a lot. :)

Heartstrings by Heather Gunter No this isn't here because Heather wrote it, it's here because it truly is one of my favorites for this year.  In fact, I've unashamedly fallen in love with Will even though he is way too young for me ;)  Heartstrings is a really powerful story, for many reasons.  For me I think it sends a message of hope to people that have suffered through a sexual assault.  I can't help but feel a little proud of Heather too - this was a personal and painful experience for her and her willingness to share it is something that deserves recognition.

Tori is a character that many people love.  She is sassy that's for sure.  But she's also grappling with her experience and trying to find a way to move forward.  With Will, Charlie and Maverick's help she manages to do just that, but it's not an easy journey.  Lucky for Tori, she's got Will by her side ... lucky, lucky Tori!  Oh, and a little bird tells me that we will get to spend just a little more time with these four before their story is completely told!

Book 1: Love Notes - Amazon | Barnes & Noble

Wait for You by J. Lynn (Jennifer L. Armentrout) I read this book while camping with my kids during spring break and I stayed up all night long. I couldn't put it down and I had to finish. There was no way I was going to be able to sleep until I knew what the hell happened. LOVE Cam. I mean LOVE him. He's in my list of best book boyfriends. He's a keeper anyway because he cooks. That is a sign of a keeper. If I remember a book and the character names after I've finished then we've got a keeper here. Wait for You was absolutely awesome.

Amazon| Barnes & Noble

Fading (and Falling) by E.K. Blair Fading (and Falling, which is Ryan's perspective) was one of the most powerful reads for me for the year. My book hangover was intense after finishing Candace's story. In my review, I wrote:

"Fading is intense. It is heartbreaking, it is graphic, it does not shy away from the impact of a brutal sexual assault."
It seems strange that such a horrid event can be connected to one of my best reading experiences for the year - but for me observing the recovery for Candace (and the struggle for Ryan) allowed me not to focus on the event itself, but what would come from it for these two amazing characters.
Captivated by these covers, engrossed by the stories - E.K. Blair has created something wonderful in these books.  Each of them is powerful in it's own right, but when read together you are totally immersed in these characters and this story.

Falling Into You by Jasinda Wilder For me Falling Into You was powerful and gripping and is about the power of forgiveness. It gives me goosebumps all over again just thinking about it. Nell and Kyle destined to be until tragedy strikes. Nell feels and harbors guilt and Colton might just be the one to ease her pain. Little does she know that he also has his own demons to overcome. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this book. Need I say more?

Amazon | Barnes & Noble

The Rapture Trilogy by Phillip W. Simpson I read this series early in the year and absolutely loved it.  Sam is an amazing character, half demon, half human waging a battle to prevent evil taking over the earth.  Simpson has an incredible writing style, one that had me immersed in this world and able to visualize in great detail the various environments and characters that formed the story.  I was incredibly connected to Sam and wanted so much for him.  The expectations of him throughout the trilogy were huge and he delivered time and time again.  The Rapture Trilogy certainly appealed to my love of paranormal and while the subject matter has obvious religious connections, this was not over powering.  The romance element is light, although there is definitely a love story entwined in these pages along with a good versus evil epic tale with an outcome that is never certain and that will keep you turning pages until you discover exactly how things turn out for Sam.Rapture - AmazonBarnes & Noble
Tribulation - AmazonBarnes & Noble
Apocalypse - Amazon | Barnes & Noble

Sins and Needles (The Artists Trilogy #1)  by Karina Halle  What first grabbed me was the cover of this book. It spoke to me and screamed, "Read me!" So, I did. Completely different then anything I read. It's gritty and different but a good kind of different. It had me at the first page until the very last. Ellie is difficult to say the least. She has many issues and they aren't going away any time soon. And then there's Camden, the inked stud muffin. Okay, so he certainly has issues as well but I like him. He holds a hell of a lot of resentment towards Ellie. They grapple back and forth that at times had me chuckling. It has twists and turns and I just freaking loved this book.

Temporary Bliss by B.J. Harvey It's unusual, but the reason Temporary Bliss is on my top ten list is Mac, the main FEMALE character.  I loved her!! While I know there will be some who won't like Mac at all I was in awe of her capacity to be up front about what she wanted.  What was even better was watching her have to deal with Delicious Daniel, also known as the smoking hot volcano of fine and the chemistry between the two was fabulous.  There is also a cast of other characters that I fell in love with.  Consequently I've got the second book, True Bliss, loaded on my kindle ready to read so I can find out what happens for Kate, Mac's best friend.
Amazon | Barnes & NobleBook 2: True Bliss - Amazon | Barnes & Noble

Light in the Shadows by A. Meredith Walters  The story of Maggie and Clay continues. When I finished this book I was in absolute awe of the Author. Here's a story about the healing process of bi-polar disorder. While never pretty and not a disorder that you can miraculously heal from, she writes about it beautifully. This touched home for me because I have a loved one that is bi-polar. The title says it all A light in the Shadows. I would definitely read the first book so you understand everything that Maggie and Clay go through. But it's a powerful story, about love and what you would do to hang onto it. I could gush and go on and on about this book. I'm a huge fan of A. Meredith Walters.

Amazon | Barnes & NobleBook 1: Find You in the Dark - Amazon | Barnes & NobleWarmth in Ice (A Find You in the Dark novella)Cloud Walking (A Find You in the Dark novella)

Present Perfect by Alison G. Bailey Present Perfect is an absolutely beautiful story about the importance of the present, about living in the here and now, not fearing what might be, but grabbing what is with both hands and reveling in everything it brings, regardless of how short lived it might be.  I just loved this story.  I loved the characters, I loved everything about it.  Alison G. Bailey even managed to have me reeling twice before the story concluded as she flipped things on their head.  If you're not one for crying in public it is probably best to read this in the privacy of your own home as there are definitely tear jerking scenes a plenty.  But don't let that put you off!

Amazon | Barnes & Noble
If You Stay (Beautifully Broken #1)  by Courtney Cole
I had to include Pax in my list. Pax has issues a plenty. But you can't help but feel compassion for him. He's determined to ruin his life completely until Mila saves him. This story is about forgiving yourself and realizing that you alone have the power to change. This is the first book in this series for Courtney Cole. While I'm a fan of her earlier work as well, I love that this series deals with taboo topics, things that young people go through. Drug addiction is very real and I appreciate where the Author went with this story. Fantastic book!!!

Distractions by J.L. BrooksStay alert, Violet. Distractions will be your undoing.

Distractions was one of those books that really got to me.  It was incredibly cleverly written and it gave me a book hangover of the worst kind.  I found myself reflecting on the story and characters for some time after I finished it, even re-reading sections, which is not something I do often.  It does require a level of concentration to read, but I think it is absolutely worth the investment of time.  There were twists and turns that were unpredictable and the ending was nothing like I thought it would be and yet everything I hoped for.

Amazon
Running On Empty (Mending Hearts #1) by L.B Simmons I've never been able to give this book any justice when I talk about it. I always sound like a rambling idiot. One of my favorites of 2013. One, I adore the author but the book itself is amazing. Her characters are so strong and the banter, even better. Grab it, snatch it, read it and LOVE it!

Amazon | Barnes & NobleBook 1.5: Recovery - Amazon | Barnes & NobleBook 2: Running in Place - Amazon | Barnes & Noble
Friend-Zoned by Belle Aurora Friend-Zoned is awesome - plain and simple.  The chemistry between Tina and Nik is intense, not to mention the other characters in the story.  It has humour, intrigue and some hot and steamy scenes as well.  I found myself foregoing sleep so I could read just one more chapter (always the sign of a good book).  This was an amazing debut for Belle Aurora that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Heather's Honourable Mentions #1 - Rome (A Marked Men Novel #3) by Jay CrownoverWait til everyone reads this book. They will go bat shit crazy for Rome. I did, but then again, he's always been my favorite Archer.

#2 - Music of the Heart (Runaway Train #1) by Katie AshleyJake. Need I say more? Katie wrote a story a book about rockstars, which I generally stay away from. However, this isn't your average 'rocker' story. I know, I'm weird and I'm good with that. It's just that they generally end up all being alike. The same story told and retold over and over again. This is one is not and I devoured it. I also love that Abby stands her ground with her beliefs and she's not afraid to state them. I love strong women like that. Fantastic beginning to a new series.

#5 - Beautiful Broken Rules & Beautiful Broken Mess by Kimberly LaurenI know I chose two but I loves these characters to bits and they are brothers after all. Tami's Honourable Mentions#1 - Unbreakable by Rebecca SheaThis was an amazing debut by Rebecca Shea.  I don't cry often when I read books, maybe a quiet tear here and there, but Unbreakable broke me.  And I'm just going to mention one character - Landon - *sigh* - can't wait for his story in Undone.

#2 - Finding My Way and Crossroads by Megan KeithI know, I know it's two books again, but they're a series and once you read Finding My Way you'll definitely want more Nick.  These are two gorgeously written books about, well, finding your way in life with characters that you will fall in love with.

Crossroads - Amazon | Barnes & Noble

#3 - Irreparably Broken and Irreversible Damage by K.J. BellJust loved these two books - Tori and Brady are gorgeous.  I'm not gonna lie, there will be tears when you read these books, particularly with Irreversible Damage, but the stories and characters are amazing and K.J. Bell has the most beautiful writing style.  *Sigh* I might just have to go an read them again ...

Irreversible Damage - Amazon | Barnes & Noble

#4 - Vain and Greed by Fisher AmelieOK, clearly I have a problem with the concept of choosing one thing ... when it comes to books it's a virtually impossible task, so you'll just have to forgive me.  I am a huge, HUGE, Fisher Amelie fan and have read all of her books - if you haven't you should, they're awesome.  I'm loving the Seven Deadly series, Vain is book 1 and Greed is book 2 and they're fabulous - I can't wait for the rest in the series!

Watch the gorgeous book trailer here

Long after the last footsteps could be heard pattering down the hall or the sound of water in the pipes, I finally threw back the covers and hopped out of bed.

I knew exactly what I wanted to wear, and it only took two seconds to pull it out of my suitcase. I then slipped into the bathroom and got dressed. As soon as I was done, I crept out of the bedroom and down the hall. I could hear my dad snoring in the guest bedroom, while the sound of muted TV came from the office where Eli and Gabe were sleeping on an air mattress and the pullout couch. Grabbing a flashlight out of the hall closet, I then snuck out the front door. I jogged as fast as I could in my robe and slippers across the front lawn and down the hill. Thankfully, Angel had actually listened to me when I told her to stay on the porch. The last thing I needed was for her to start a barking marathon and alert everyone that I was running around half-naked outside.

When I got to the barn, I reached under one of the potted plants to get out the hide-a-key. Gently, I unlocked the door and stepped inside. When I closed the door behind me, I heard rustling in the bed upstairs. Without hesitation, I made my way across the living room toward the stairs. Of course, I didn’t expect Jake to have left his shoes in the middle of the floor, causing me to trip and bang into the ladder.

“Ow!” I cried before I could bite down on my lip.

“Abby?” Jake questioned. Within a few seconds, he was peering over the railing of the loft.

Gazing up at him, I teased, “Yes, it’s me. Were you expecting someone else?”

His brows furrowed. “I wasn’t expecting anyone, especially you.”

“Well…surprise!”

Jake gave me a funny look as I started climbing the stairs. When I got to the top rung of the ladder, he helped me off. “What are you doing here?”

To answer his question, I undid the tie on my robe. I then shimmied it off my shoulders and let it fall to the floor. Jake’s eyes widened while his mouth gaped open at my skimpy lingerie. “Abby…”

“Do you remember this?” I asked, running my hand over the silky material.

As the revelation washed over him, desire burned in his eyes. “You were wearing that the night we made love for the first time.”

“Yes, I was.” Stepping forward, I wrapped my arms around his neck. “I want you to finish what you started earlier this afternoon. But most of all, I want you to make love to me again on our wedding eve in the same place we first came together.”

Jake’s gaze left mine to momentarily flicker over to the clock on the nightstand. “But it’s after midnight. That means it’s our wedding day. What about the bad luck?”

“We make our own luck. But more than anything, we make our own memories, and I want to make one with you tonight.”

As his arms wrapped tighter around me, he cocked his head at me. “Trust me, Angel, I certainly don’t want to argue with you. I just don’t want you to regret it later.”

“There hasn’t been a single moment I’ve regretted with you.”

Jake’s brows rose in surprise. “Really?”

“I promise.”

He smiled. “I’m really glad to hear that.”

“So are you down with my plan?”

“Oh, hell yeah,” he said, as he backed us over to the bed.

Knock.

Knock.

Knock.

Bang.

Knock.

With a groan, I sat up. What the heck was going on? It had to be the middle of the night.

I climbed from the bed to investigate the strange sound. I couldn’t decide if it was someone knocking on the apartment door or something else. The noise was strange…

Once I was out of the bedroom, it was easy to deduce that the noise was, indeed, someone at the door. But they definitely weren’t knocking on it with their fist. It sounded more like they were using their whole body…or head…

Scared to go to the door—because let’s face it, I wasn’t exactly the strongest person on the planet—I went to wake up Trace.

“Trace,” I pushed his shoulder, trying to rouse him from sleep. “Trace,” I shook him a bit harder.

“Huh?” His eyes cracked open a bit, just a thin slit of green showing through.

“There’s someone at the door,” I hissed.

“What time is it?” He rubbed his eyes, yawning.

“Two,” I muttered, looking at the clock beside the bed. “I don’t know who it is and I’m scared to open the door,” I admitted reluctantly, playing with the ends of my hair.

He sat up and rolled out of bed, pulling on a pair of jeans, which he left unbuttoned. “I’ll check it out,” he assured me, kissing the end of my nose.

I tiptoed behind him and out of the bedroom. He undid the deadbolt and slowly opened the door.

Whoever was standing there fell into his arms.

“Avery?” I gasped, taking in the vibrant red hair.

“Mhmmmmitsme,” she slurred drunkenly.

Since she seemed to have lost the ability to move her legs, Trace picked her up, and gently laid her down on the couch.

I grabbed a bottle of water before kneeling beside her. She was completely wasted and the dress she’d worn to Nick and Nora’s wedding was ruined. It was covered in grass and mud stains, as was her body.

My eyes widened, zeroing in on something wrapped around her neck. I gasped when I realized what it was.

“Avery! Why is your underwear around your neck?” I bit my lip to hold back laughter. I mean, it wasn’t every day your best friend showed up at your place drunk with underwear around her neck.

“Huh?” She looked at me with bleary eyes and fingered the silky string of fabric around her neck. “Must have taken em’ off.”

“Obviously,” I snorted. “What were you doing?”

“I’m pretty sure it involved beer and sex in a field…by the way, don’t ever try that,” she warned Trace and me, pointing at us with a shaky finger, “it really itches.”

Release Blitz: Damian (The Heartbreaker #1) by Jessica Wood

Looking for a book with a super sexy bartender - the perpetual bachelor, who may just have met his match?  Then Damian by Jessica Wood is the book for you.  Read on for a teaser and be sure to enter the amazing giveaway.

Title: DamianAuthor: Jessica Wood Release Date: 22 December 2013
Meet Damian Castillo. The man, the legend, the heartbreaker. As a self-proclaimed man-whore, Damian doesn’t believe in love or commitment. In fact, he can’t remember the last time he’s had feeling for a woman that went beyond hot, no-strings-attached sex. The only things he cares about are his bar, his appearance, and his needs.
But then he meets Alexis.

Meet Alexis Blythe. A small town girl that has lost a lot of love in her life. Wanting to leave her past behind her, she moves to San Francisco looking for a big change. Yet, despite everything she’s gone through, she still believes in true love.

But then she meets Damian.

When Alexis shows up at his bar, Damian’s caught by surprise. She’s different. She’s sweet, innocent, and feisty. But above all, this woman didn’t respond to his charm and piercing-blue eyes the way every other woman did. To Damian, she’s his ultimate challenge.

Could Alexis be the girl that will break through Damian’s wall of perpetual bachelorhood without getting hurt? Or will Damian remain true his ways and break Alexis’s heart and her hopes of true love?

It was 9:10 p.m. on a Thursday night and two hours into my shift. I had just made three gin and tonics for a group of girls at the bar when I saw a ridiculously hot redhead walking toward me. Definitely a 9, I thought. Also, she looks familiar.

She leaned across the bar and seductively whispered into my ear. “Hey Damian.” I saw her full breasts heave as I felt her hot breath against my face.

“What’s up, beautiful?” I caught a scent of her floral perfume. She sat down on the bar stool in front of me. I looked at her and gave her the signature Damian smile.

“Have we fucked before?” I asked. I saw the hurt look on her face, but she quickly played it off.

Yes, we must have fucked before.

“Uh—No. No, we haven’t,” she said, avoiding my eyes.

Liar, I thought.

“So what can I get you?” I asked as I grabbed a clean glass from under the bar.

“A Screaming Orgasm,” she said seductively as she licked her lips.

I smiled and knew very well she was not just referring to the cocktail.

“I want it in a shot glass, and I want it Damian style.” She bit her lower lip and gave my body a once-over.

I chuckled. Of course. A Damian style shot was something I had came up with when I opened Damian’s. It had became an instant hit. It involved taking the shot you ordered as a body shot off the bartender you ordered the shot from. I got a lot of business from the Damian style shot, and I loved having girls take shots off my body.

“My name’s Courtney, by the way,” she offered. I wondered if she had been waiting for me to ask.

“Gotcha. So where’d you like the shot from?” I asked as I made the shot.

She gave me a meaningful smile and bit her lower lip. “From your mouth.”

“Sure thing.” I turned away from her and leaned my head back until my head and shoulders were flat against the bar table. I then placed the bottom of the shot glass into my mouth and waited for her to take it.

She looked down at me with lust in her eyes, and I knew I must have fucked her hard. And now she was coming back for more. She purposefully placed her hands on my chest as she bent down to take the shot with her mouth. She knocked the shot back quickly and removed the shot glass from her mouth. She then grabbed my face as she bent back down and kissed me hard with her lips. This usually happened after a Damian special shot off my mouth, so I was not at all surprised by her aggressiveness. I opened my mouth and her tongue eagerly explored me as moans escaped her lips.

When Courtney finally went up for air and released me from her grip, I stood back up and turned back to her to give her a wicked smile. I love my job.

And then my entire body tensed and my heart stopped when my eyes locked onto the last person I had expected to see.

Alexis.

Jessica Wood writes new adult contemporary romance.

While she has lived in countless cities throughout the U.S., her heart belongs to San Francisco. To her, there’s something seductively romantic about the Golden Gate Bridge, the steep rolling hills of the city streets, the cable cars, and the Victorian-style architecture.

She loves a strong, masculine man with a witty personality. While she is headstrong and extremely independent, she can’t resist a man who takes control of the relationship, both outside and inside of the bedroom.

She loves to travel internationally, and tries to plan a yearly trip abroad. She also loves to cook and bake, and—to the benefit of her friends—she loves to share. She also enjoys ceramics and being creative with her hands. She has a weakness for good (maybe bad) TV shows; she’s up-to-date on over 25 current shows, and no, that wasn’t a joke.

And it goes without saying, she loves books—they’re like old and dear friends who have always been there to make her laugh and make her cry.

The one thing she wished she had more of is time.

Blog Tour: Girl of Lies (Rachel's Peril #1) by Charles Sheehan-Miles

Welcome to our stop on the blog tour for Girl of Lies , book one in the 'Rachel's Peril' series by Charles Sheehan Miles.

Andrea Thompson is smart, assertive and beautiful. She’s also desperately lonely. Raised in Europe by her grandmother, she struggles knowing neither of her parents wanted her, and she has no idea why.

When Andrea receives an urgent call from her older sister Carrie, she agrees to fly to the United States to help. Carrie’s newborn daughter Rachel needs a bone marrow transplant.

What Andrea doesn’t know is that her return to the United States will launch a chain of events that will uncover secrets hidden for decades. Secrets which will rock the Thompson family and ignite a political firestorm.

Secrets that some will kill to protect.

You're also invited to join the Remember to Breathe Facebook group here

I wasn’t entirely sure what I was expecting when I picked up Girl of Lies. I haven’t read any of Charles Sheehan-Miles books before, but have heard amazing things about them, so I was very much looking forward to this story. It was filled with intrigue and suspense and there were many things I really loved about it. So why the 3.5 stars you ask - the ending just didn’t work for me. As much as I will absolutely pick up book two, I like to have some sort of closure at the end of an instalment in a series, and I really didn’t feel like I got that with Girl of Lies.

What I did get though, was an introduction to a family filled with so many facets I just don’t know where to start. I haven’t had the introduction to the Thomson Sisters that others have, but I can tell you I will be reading the other books to learn more about them all. The six sisters all have their own stories, but what is clear is their commitment to looking after each other. The dysfunctional relationship of their parents has forged a strong bond between the girls and this bond is critical to their future in this story.

In Girl of Lies the focus is on Andrea, the youngest sister - but there is plenty of detail about the other sisters and also Adelina, their mother. What is clear is that the lives and family the girls thought they knew is not what they believed. Through the course of Girl of Lies we discover the truth behind Adelina and Richard’s relationship and the facade that was their marriage, which has serious consequences for all of the girls.

There is much intrigue in this story and I am dying to find out what is going to happen next. What I loved was that there are some many different dimensions to this story-although a couple of times I was a little confused about who was who, as there are many characters to keep track of. The girl’s father, Richard, is clearly not what he seems and I don’t like him very much at this point.

Sheehan-Miles has a fabulous writing style. So easy to read, so engaging and his capacity to build tension and mystery throughout the story is better than many I’ve read. As I said, I will absolutely pick up the next book in this series because I have to know what will happen for Andrea and her sisters - I just would have loved a little more closure to the final events in this book to feel more satisfied with the story so far.

3.5 out of 5 stars

Charles Sheehan-Miles has been a soldier, computer programmer, short-order cook and non-profit executive, and is the author of several fiction and non-fiction books, including the indie bestsellers Just Remember to Breathe and Republic: A Novel of America's Future.

Blog Tour: Exquisite Betrayal by A.M. Hargrove

Welcome to our stop on the Blog Tour for Exquisite Betrayal by A.M. Hargrove.  We were lucky enough to grab a bit of time with A.M and she has shared with us her inspiration for writing this book - read on to learn more and don't forget to enter the giveaway!

A male Romance Author… a convention in Vegas… a female book blogger… a goal to lose her virginity… what next? Find out when you mix all the above!

Fallon McKinley is headed to Vegas for the Wicked Wenches Romance Con and losing her virginity is only one of her goals. The other is to meet her favorite author of romance novels, R.T. Sinclair. What she doesn’t realize is that the sexy green-eyed god she rams into at the airport is the real R.T. When they keep running into each other, she’s shocked, but excited, because the attraction is irresistible.

Ryland Thomas Sinclair doesn’t want anyone to know his true identity. He’s the author that all women love, but everyone thinks he’s a female. He hides his persona behind the public face of his twin sister, keeping his own a secret. But after meeting the lovely Fallon, his intentions to avoid a relationship come to a screeching halt. She’s put an unwanted kink into his perfectly laid out plans. His unusual reaction surprises him because after a heart-shredding breakup a few years ago, he’s managed to avoid women at all costs.

Resisting Fallon becomes more difficult than he imagines. Soon things are spiraling out of control, until a major miscommunication has Fallon walking out of his home and his life. Will Ryland Thomas succeed in losing the woman he loves? Or can he win her back?

What Inspired Me To Write Exquisite Betrayal

This book didn’t have one inspiration. In fact, it was a compilation of many things. It all started after I attended my first book convention and when returned home I couldn’t help but think back about how much fun I had. Then I began to read about the Naughty Mafia in Vegas and my imagination took off. Several times I would wake up in the middle of night with these great ideas and have to jot them down so I would remember them in the morning. What better place to have a single blogger head off for a weekend of fun with some wicked plans in store, right?

As fun as Vegas can be, it’s not much unless you have a hot guy to steam up the story. That’s when I knew I needed a big pull for her romantic interest. I have a male friend, who shall remain nameless, who happens to be a very famous romance novelist. I began to think about what it would be like to be a romance writer, but a male romance writer? My friend doesn’t use a pen name or hide behind the identity of his sister. He doesn’t have to. But what if he did? And what would readers think if they discovered the truth? Would women be as accepting of men writing in this genre as they are of women? There aren’t very many men at all. In fact, I can only think of a handful myself. Now, I was on to something.

As the plot took off in my head, so did the twists and turns. I don’t want to give any spoilers away here, so I’ll only say this. I truly wanted to write the male character as someone who could put his heart on paper, but when it came to real life, suffered from the biggest case of stupidassery that ever existed known to mankind. *Clears throat* Do any of you all know any guys like that?

So, Exquisite Betrayal was born, with Ryland Thomas leading the way as one of the dumbest, most frustrating but in the end, probably most endearing guys I’ve ever written. And Fallon, well, she just grows herself a set and kicks him right in his and you’ll just have to read the book the get the nitty gritty details. Here’s to Happy Ever Afters!

One day, on her way home from work as a sales manager, A. M. Hargrove, realized her life was on fast forward and if she didn't do something soon, it would quickly be too late to write that work of fiction she had been dreaming of her whole life. So, she rolled down the passenger window of her fabulous (not) company car and tossed out her leather briefcase. Luckily, the pedestrian in the direct line of fire was a dodge ball pro and had über quick reflexes enabling him to avoid getting bashed in the head. Feeling a tad guilty about the near miss, A. M. made a speedy turn down a deserted side street before tossing her crummy, outdated piece-of-you-know-what laptop out the window. She breathed a liberating sigh of relief, picked up her cell phone, called her boss and quit her job. Grinning, she made another call to her hubs and told him of her new adventure (after making sure his heart was beating properly again).
So began A. M. Hargrove's career as a YA/NA and Adult Romance writer. Her books include the following: Edge of Disaster, Shattered Edge and Kissing Fire (The Edge Series); The Guardians of Vesturon series (Survival, Resurrection, Determinant, reEmergent and Beginnings); Dark Waltz and Tragically Flawed.

Other than being in love with writing about being in love, she loves chocolate, ice cream and coffee and is positive they should be added as part of the USDA food groups.

New Release: My Beautiful (Lifeless #2) by J.M. La Rocca

Available NOW - don't miss the fabulous next installment in the Lifeless series, My Beautiful by J.M. La Rocca.

It has been eight months since Scarlett Moore last saw Kade Evans. After being left hurt and confused she tried to forget about him, but he wasn’t easy to forget. She found herself thinking about him often. Even her best friend Jules did her best to get him off her mind by pushing her toward Bryce, the one person Scarlett was not sure she wanted to be involved with. When a new job opportunity is offered to her and Jules, they jump on it. The idea of starting over again and forgetting the past is enticing to Scarlett even if it moves her to Los Angeles, the same place Kade lives.

Kade Evans’ life revolved around his band, alcohol, drugs, and women…until he met Scarlett. She is the light to his darkness, his beautiful; the one that makes him see what the future might hold. That is, until his past came barreling back into his life, ruining everything. Hurting her was the last thing he wanted to do, but he did what he had to do to protect her. His plan is to find a way out of his new life before he tries to win her heart back. But life has a plan of its own and unexpectedly, Scarlett walks back into his life.

When they meet again, the fire she thought burned out is reignited and the plans he made are rearranged.

Just when things start to fall into place, they all seem to fall apart and the one person they think they can trust turns out to be the one to hurt them the most.

I slowly walked up to her, lifting my hand up to caress her cheek. “I still can’t believe I’m here with you.”

“Me too,” she sighed as she leaned into my hand.

Lifting my other hand, I ran my fingers through her hair. I pulled the elastic band out and grasped her hair into my fist, then my mouth was on hers. She let out a soft moan as our lips finally connected, our tongues teasing and our teeth biting. My breaths were coming rapidly and I couldn’t contain my own hums of approval as she explored my body with her hands.

Letting my hands drop, I found the tie that held her robe closed. I untied it and pulled it apart. My hands started to do their own exploring; it didn’t take long until I discovered she wasn’t wearing anything underneath. I groaned and my cock twitched. I was now hard as a rock. I had to slow down before it was over faster than it started. I wanted to savor every moment.

Slowly, I pulled my lips away and looked at her beautiful face. Her cheeks were flushed and her lips swollen and red. Just the sight of her in front of me all flushed and breathing heavily with her robe gaping open, made me want to throw her on the bed and fuck her into oblivion. But it would be over too soon for me. I wanted to taste every inch of her. Memorize every curve of her body, every moan that escaped her lips. I wanted to make her come until she begged me to stop. Only then would I succumb to my own needs.

I lifted my hands up to her shoulders and gently pushed the robe back making it fall in a lump at her feet.

“Go lay on the bed and spread your legs for me.” She hesitated for only a second.

I said I would let her have control, but tonight I needed it. I had no control over anything else in my life at that moment, so right then, I needed the control. Especially after the night I had.

I walked to the end of the bed as she got comfortable, resting her hands on her sides as she spread her legs for me.

I could see goose bumps on her body as she bit her lower lip and gazed at me with hooded eyes. She was wet for me and I licked my lips in anticipation. I had to hold myself back from diving right in. Not once did I go down on anyone else while Scarlett and I were apart. Her taste and her smell were burned into my receptors and I didn’t want anything else to fuck that up. And right then, I needed a little reminding.
