Melissa Rolka grew up in the Chicagoland area all of her childhood and has always had a love of writing. She started by keeping a journal at a young age and then in high school she started writing poetry. A couple poems were published anonymously. Then in college she majored in Philosophy, which required lots and lots of writing. After graduating from Marquette University she traveled west to Los Angeles. There she worked for the Writers Guild of America and found herself submerged in the writers world. She worked on small writings, but never pursued them. On the side she became involved with a small theater group. Eventually she made her way back to the Midwest, where her heart belongs, and worked in business for several years. She found love, got married and has two beautiful children. Being at home has allowed her to keep following her love of reading and writing.
The Perfect Distraction is her first full length novel. A second continuation of this story is in the works with hopes for a third. When Melissa is not writing she is caring for, playing with and loving her two kids. In between taking care of her family and writing she almost always has her nose buried in her Kindle.

She bonds with a tight knit group of friends and even starts casually dating. What starts out as innocent flirting on the tennis courts slowly turns into a friendship and eventually something more complex. Reed comes into her life giving her the distraction she craves more than anything; but is she ready to give her heart away so easily?
Things get complicated when Kate’s ex-boyfriend and first love continues to pursue her. Kyle deeply regrets breaking her heart when he left for college the year before and is now on a mission to reclaim her. Kyle’s persistence and relentlessness is nothing short of obsessive. Release Day Blitz: Private Show (Private #2) by Danielle Torella

Title: Private Show (Private #2)Author: Danielle TorellaRelease: January 27, 2014

The Seattle barista and art student is happy with her beautiful Brit boyfriend, Ben — especially in the bedroom. But while Ben’s her first, she’s hardly his. And Ben’s sexual history seems to be popping up in Tess’s face like something out of a zombie movie, and it has her questioning his commitment — and questioning whether his appealing alpha maleness is just a cover for a controlling personality.
Maybe one that’s meant to keep her from asking too many questions.
Is Ben the problem, or is everybody from his past the problem?
Tess is asking the questions, and pushing hard for answers.
Is Nicole, the ex-fiancé who cheated on Ben, trying to worm her way back into his life? Was there something between Ben and Tess’s best friend, Erin? Or what’s going on with Ben’s adored teenage sister, Caroline, and Ben’s best friend Dan? And how did Ben get Tess a job interview with Mr. Andrews, his sophisticated but slimy boss at the music magazine?
As Tess comes to learn, relationships — especially sexual ones — are as much about power as love. With each new discovery, she finds herself in a struggle to hold her head together as much as her heart.
And to find where her own power lies.

Tess has never had sex. Believe it or not, she’s never had a decent kiss.
The aspiring Seattle painter and photographer is still recovering from the trauma of being beaten and nearly raped at a rock show nearly three years before. So she keeps life simple: she goes to school, goes to work in a coffee shop, goes home, goes on living.
But then Ben’s naked body crashes—almost literally—through Tess’s wall against the world.
Ben is doing his dad’s art-teacher girlfriend a favor when he agrees to pose nude for her drawing class. But what he draws is the interest of the irresistible punk-looking girl—and it’s interest he reciprocates, with interest.
Their sexual chemistry is too much to resist. But it’s when they have their clothes on that their heat quickly slips on ice. Ben’s womanizing history is one thing, but it’s history of another kind—related to that fateful night at the rock show—that threatens to tear the young lovers apart forever.

Cover Reveal: Invincible by Alana Albertson

Title: InvincibleAuthor: Alana AlbertsonGenre: New Adult Romantic ThrillerOrganized by: Indie Sage, LLCTentative Release Date: February 23, 2014

One harmless fuck with a Curaçao whore—no strings attached. I picked her out of a lineup—wild, dark hair, long legs and a crooked smile. After she sucked me off, I relaxed back onto the creaky, cum-stained cot, thankful for the blissful moments she gave me when I actually forgot for a second the faces of my buddies who died because I made the wrong call, the tears of the children I couldn't save, and the eyes of the enemies I slaughtered during their last seconds of life.
But before I left, her green eyes peered into my soul. She whispered in a distinct So Cal accent, "My name is Annie Baylis. I'm an American citizen. I was kidnapped from a cruise ship five years ago. You're my last hope. Please save me."
One desperate plea. This wasn’t a Hollywood blockbuster or a New York Times best-selling thriller. I knew that this time there was no room for excuses, no margin for errors. I had one chance to put the cape on and be her hero.

Release Day Blitz: How to Liv by Megan Keith

Congratulations Megan Keith on the release of How to Liv. This is a gorgeous story about finding love where you least expect it ... in the supermarket of all places ... !!
Be sure and grab yourself a copy, you won't be disappointed. Oh and check out the playlist, it is brilliant. Now excuse me, I have some grocery shopping to take care of ... you never know who I might run into??

Title: How to LivAuthor: Megan KeithGenre: Adult Contemporary RomanceRelease Date: January 24, 2014Cover Design: Cover to Cover Designs

Olivia Moore is your average hard working, down to earth, Aussie chick.
Taking each day as it comes, working in a factory, Olivia is just plodding along through life. She’s resigned herself to the fact she’s not going to get her happily ever after, a husband… kids… because she has given up on men - they lie and cheat, leaving a world of pain in their wake.
Then Olivia meets Joel.
Joel Turner is hard working, down to earth, sexy, kind, fun… in fact, he’s damn near perfect. Joel is exactly the type of man Olivia has always wanted. He stirs emotions in her that have laid dormant for years. He breaks down her walls, forcing Olivia to fall in love and to finally believe fairy tales really can come true.
Until she discovers something that could change it all.

Being Australian, I loved that this was a book written by an Australian, about Australians, set in Australia. So many things were so familiar and relatable, which made it that much easier for me to lose myself in the story.
Liv has been burnt in the game of love (badly and more than once) so is not interested in the prospect of a relationship. Her self-confidence has been shattered and with her more glamorous, confident and outgoing sister to compete with, really what’s the point?? Liv is a caring and loyal friend, not a total recluse, but her time is spent mostly at work and she doesn’t believe she’ll ever get her happily ever after.
Liv encounters Joel at the supermarket and “ermahgerd” (to quote Liv’s sister Ally) he is perfect. P-E-R-F-E-C-T!! Hot, considerate, funny, sexy, talented and just a little controlling in the bedroom ... perfect!! Liv can’t believe he’s single, or that he would be interested in her. Despite her doubts, she finds herself falling for him and falling hard.
I loved watching the relationship between Liv and Joel unfold. They were nervous, they were funny and as they slowly started to relax a little they were gorgeous together. Liv’s past experiences are a significant challenge for her. She has trust issues and struggles with her fear of being hurt again, continually waiting for the “other shoe to drop” because surely what is going on is too good to be true? Joel has baggage of his own and despite his insistence on no secrets with Liv, he keeps one, never quite able to find the right time or the right way to disclose. This has dire consequences for the two and it was painful to read this unfold.
Megan Keith has an engaging writing style. I got lost in her characters and story very quickly. She establishes an environment that is detailed, without being overly so, but enough that I could visualise people and places easily. There are many fabulous characters in this story. I’ll confess I was not a fan of Liv’s sister Ally - suffice to say she treated her sister badly and yet Liv continued to allow her to live in her home and came to her defence regularly. Liv’s workmates were relatable, reminding me of my own co-workers and the fun we have. Adam and Raelene, Joel’s brother and sister in law were your typical, down to earth Aussie’s - and some of the conversations with Raelene were hilarious. I would be remiss in not mentioning Chelsea, Joel’s super gorgeous niece - she’s such a cutey!!
How to Liv sucked me in and kept me reading. I laughed, I had moments where my heart was breaking for the characters and let me tell you, Megan Keith can write some steamy bedroom scenes *fans face* ;) Go grab yourself a copy, a packet of Tim Tams and curl up for a thoroughly enjoyable read - oh and I dare you not to fall in love with Joel!

Meet Liv Michaels
It may have been seven years, but I’d know him anywhere. Sure, he’s grown, filled out in all the right places, but his captivating blue eyes and cocky grin are exactly the way I remember. Even though I’d much rather forget.
Liv Michaels is almost there. She’s smart, determined and weeks away from landing the job she’s dreamed about for years. Time healed old wounds, even her broken heart from the devastation of being crushed by her first love.
Meet Vince Stone
Women love a fighter, especially a good one. Lucky for me, I’m damn good. But there’s one woman that isn’t interested. Not again, anyway.
Vince ‘The Invincible’ Stone is every woman’s fantasy…strong, sexy, confident and completely in control. Growing up surrounded by chaos, he’s learned never to get too attached. Love will drag you down. He adores women, treats them well, puts their own needs before his own…for the night anyway. With the biggest fight of his life coming up, his focus should be on training.
When fate brings Vince & Liv back together again, there’s no denying the chemistry is still there. But can Vince erase the old scars their past left behind? Or will Liv hurt him instead?
Vinny slips on a pair of running shorts and reaches down to the floor, pulling up the panties I’m still searching for. “You looking for these?” He twirls my sad excuse for underwear around on his one finger with a devilish grin.
“Yes.” I reach out to grab them, but Vinny’s too quick. He folds them into one hand and hooks his arm around my waist, pulling me to him with the other.
“Stay. I’ll be back in less than two hours.”
“You want me to stay?”
Leaning down, his mouth close to my ear, he responds, “I want you in my bed waiting for me when I get back.”
His words are kind, and I appreciate him offering them to me, but it’s not necessary. I’m a big girl, he doesn’t need to coddle me after a night of passion. “It’s okay. It’s sweet of you to offer, but I have errands to run anyway.”
Vinny turns me to face him, tilting my face up to look into his eyes. “I don’t do sweet, Liv. I want you to stay because I’m selfish. I want back inside of you. I’m hard just thinking about the sound you make when you come for me. So fuck your errands and get back in bed and try to get some rest. Because you’re gonna need it.”
My lord. Maybe I should be offended at the harshness of his words, but I’m not. Instead they make me feel drunk with desire and I find myself staring back at him at a loss for words. Vinny grins, he must know he’s gotten to me.
“Okay?” He kisses me chastely on the lips.
“Okay,” I finally respond with a smile that lets him know he’s changed my mind.
Grabbing his keys off the dresser, Vinny opens the palm of his hand revealing black lace. I’d forgotten that he even still had my panties in his hand. “I’m keeping these.” With a devilish grin he shoves them into his pocket as he walks out.

Blog Tour: Come to Me Quietly by A.L. Jackson

Welcome to our stop on the Come to Me Quietly blog tour, by the fabulous A.L. Jackson! This is book one in the 'Closer to You Series' and we're sure you're going to love it. Heartbreakingly beautiful is probably the best way to describe Come to Me Quietly - this was a fabulous start to our reading year.

Title: Come To Me Quietly (The Closer to You Series, Book 1)Author: A.L. JacksonRelease Date: January 7, 2014Genre: New Adult RomanceBlog Tour hosted by: Shh Moms Reading, Literary Mania Reviews, and Brandee’s Book Endings
From the acclaimed bestselling author of Lost to You and When We Collide comes a new adult novel of one woman’s obsession: a man who’s as passionate as he is elusive—and as tempting as he is trouble…

Just when she opens her heart to her friend Gabe, Aly returns home to find Jared sleeping on her couch. The teenage boy she loved has grown into a man she can’t resist. Covered in tattoos and lost in rage, he’s begging to be saved from his demons—the memories of the day he destroyed his family. As the two reconnect, their passion is hot enough to torch Aly’s judgment. But can she risk her future for a man who lives on the edge of destruction?

Check out the Come To Me Quietly Book Trailer here

Come to me Quietly was simply gorgeous. The story of a love between two people that began before they even knew what to be in love was, and of the struggle and consequence of a traumatic event for that love.
I truly loved Aly in this story. She was a strong and yet vulnerable young woman - guarding her heart without ever fully understanding that that was what she was doing. Aly was looking for something in her life and it wasn't’t until Jared turned up on her sofa that she began to understand just what it might be.
It goes without saying that Jared is to die for: a hot, tattooed bad boy - swoonworthy on all counts. But Jared is terribly broken, torn apart by events at the age of sixteen, he is tortured, guilty, lost. Inexplicably drawn to this home town Jared reconnects with his best friend Christopher and Christopher’s younger sister, Aly. It is through is re-connection with Aly that Jared’s greatest challenge arises:
“If I believes in soul mates or any of that shit, I knew she was mine. I could feel it, this connection with her I couldn't possibly share with anyone else. Like we fit, this fucked up puzzle that made no sense until we aligned the pieces. But it wasn't possible. I didn't get the happy ending, and even if I could, I’d only ruin it.”Convinced he doesn't deserve anything good in life Jared battles with his connection to Aly - a connection borne from a childhood friendship that give each of them knowledge and understanding of each other like no other.
What transpires between the two is beautiful, heartbreaking, uplifting and devastating. Have your tissues at the ready, you will absolutely need them as you read Come to me Quietly.
As I finished the book I felt an odd mix of happiness and sadness - yet I felt satisfied with the story and what had become of the characters I had grown to love. There is a second book in the series - Come to me Softly - and I am very much looking forward to reading the next installment in this story, although I’m happy to wait, almost as if I need a break from the intensity of emotions Come to me Quietly evoked. Just to be clear, there is no cliffhanger - you get a conclusion to this story that left me happy to walk away from these characters, for a little while anyway.

She first found a love for writing during her days as a young mother and college student. She filled the journals she carried with short stories and poems used as an emotional outlet for the difficulties and joys she found in day-to-day life.
Years later, she shared a short story she’d been working on with her two closest friends and, with their encouragement, this story became her first full length novel. A.L. now spends her days writing in Southern Arizona where she lives with her husband and three children.

Book Blitz: Damian by Jessica Wood

Title: DamianAuthor: Jessica WoodRelease Date: 22 December 2013

But then he meets Alexis.
Meet Alexis Blythe. A small town girl that has lost a lot of love in her life. Wanting to leave her past behind her, she moves to San Francisco looking for a big change. Yet, despite everything she’s gone through, she still believes in true love.
But then she meets Damian.
When Alexis shows up at his bar, Damian’s caught by surprise. She’s different. She’s sweet, innocent, and feisty. But above all, this woman didn’t respond to his charm and piercing-blue eyes the way every other woman did. To Damian, she’s his ultimate challenge.
Could Alexis be the girl that will break through Damian’s wall of perpetual bachelorhood without getting hurt? Or will Damian remain true his ways and break Alexis’s heart and her hopes of true love?

“A what?” I finally asked.
He chuckled. “Well, that’s what you claimed you didn’t see earlier. You can order whatever shot you want. When you make it Damian style, you can take the shot off of the body of the bartender you ordered it from.”
“So do you want to try it?” he asked and looked at me hopefully.
“I…” I wasn’t sure how to respond. I knew that the normal thing to do—the safe thing to do—would be to turn around and leave. And yet, every fiber of my body urged me to stay, to do what he’d said, to do anything to be close with him just a little longer.
And in the end, rational thought lost out to the uncontrollable desire to be near him. I felt myself glued to the barstool as he bored his intense blue eyes into me. He crooked his head slightly, as if he were studying me, as if I were some puzzle he was trying to figure out. I wondered desperately what he was thinking. What I would have given to know what that crook of the neck meant, what that sideways smile twisted on his lips meant, and what his offer meant.
“Just say yes,” he whispered, and for a brief moment, I saw the same warm blue eyes I had seen that other night when we were alone together.
I nodded slowly, unable to speak.
“Perfect. So what kind of shot would you like?” he asked. There was a renewed excitement in his voice, and I felt a wave a pleasure knowing that it was I who had caused that excitement.
“Uh, a tequila shot?” I suggested, unable to think of anything else with him staring at me so intensely.
“And where’d you like to take the shot?”
I looked at him in confusion. What does he mean, where? I’m not planning on moving to a table or anything.
Then I realized what he really meant: where on his body would I like to take the shot from.
“Um…I don’t know,” I said. I felt my face grow hot. I knew that I’d been trying to be more adventurous when I moved to this city, but this was not what I’d had in mind.
“Well typically with the Damian Special, you can do the shot from anywhere on the body, but the alcohol stays in the shot glass and the pants for the male bartenders and the tank tops and skirts for the female bartenders stay on the whole time.” He paused and looked at me.
My breath caught as I saw the intensity in his piercing blue eyes. They were like the bluest of waters, the deepest of oceans, and I felt myself drowning in them.
“But with you,” he continued, “because you’re my neighbor, so you’re special, you can do the shot anywhere on me.” He licked his lips as his eyes drilled into me. He watched me and I felt like he was looking through me—not through me like he didn’t see me, but through me like he could see everything about me. I felt completely naked and exposed.

While she has lived in countless cities throughout the U.S., her heart belongs to San Francisco. To her, there’s something seductively romantic about the Golden Gate Bridge, the steep rolling hills of the city streets, the cable cars, and the Victorian-style architecture.
She loves a strong, masculine man with a witty personality. While she is headstrong and extremely independent, she can’t resist a man who takes control of the relationship, both outside and inside of the bedroom.
She loves to travel internationally, and tries to plan a yearly trip abroad. She also loves to cook and bake, and—to the benefit of her friends—she loves to share. She also enjoys ceramics and being creative with her hands. She has a weakness for good (maybe bad) TV shows; she’s up-to-date on over 25 current shows, and no, that wasn’t a joke.
And it goes without saying, she loves books—they’re like old and dear friends who have always been there to make her laugh and make her cry.
The one thing she wished she had more of is time.

Title: Love, Your ConciergeAuthor: Jessica IngroTentative Release Date: February 25, 2014Cover Designer: Cover It! Designs

Hello. I’m Elizabeth – your personal concierge. My job is to play fairy godmother to the rich and famous.
The universal rulebook may say to never mix business with pleasure, but its author never worked for Grant Morgan, my sexy and brooding client. As a top attorney in Manhattan, Grant is used to calling the shots and dominating everything he touches. He also changes girlfriends as often as I pick up his dry cleaning. A part of me still wishes I could let him command my body and take me in ways I’ve never imagined, though.
One moment of weakness is all it takes to change everything forever.
Addicted – I can’t get enough of him. Consumed – He’s all I think and dream about.
The book has officially been thrown out the window. I’m in love and completely terrified. With lines blurred, I find myself lying, cheating and stealing to protect myself from being hurt. But my choices affect more than just me and now I’m not so sure what I’m trying to protect myself from.
Will love be enough to erase all I've done? Or have I made the biggest mistake of all?

Arms in the air, hips swaying, I lost myself in the sounds of 112’s, “Peaches and Cream.” Matt moved up behind me, pulling me back against his hard chest, grinding his hips into mine. His hands glided teasingly down my arms and sides, causing a slow burn in my belly. His hand moved my hair over my shoulder so his lips could skim along the side of my neck, sending shivers down my spine.
Feeling like I was being watched, my eyes opened and looked directly into the blazing, heated gaze of Grant Morgan. I had made myself forget that he was here, but apparently he hadn’t forgotten I was. He sat forward in his booth, his one arm propped on his leg – watching me. He was the master of his domain and of his body. You could tell he was at ease with himself and knew how to command his body. He had a powerful aura now that I was closer to him. And if I wasn’t mistaken, his jaw seemed to tick when Matt ran his hands intimately down my thighs as he danced behind me.
From that moment forward, I danced for Grant. It was beyond my control. My imagination went wild with thoughts of him behind me, moving me sensually against him. Matt or not, I only wanted him to watch me. Only wanted him to touch me. Only wanted him to want me. It was dangerous. It was reckless. It was everything I wasn’t.
Grant watched me the whole time. Even when waitresses brought him what looked like whiskey or scotch. Even when Nik came back to talk with him. It was a rare occasion for me to look his way and not see his eyes on me. The heated look in them made my skin tingle and my panties grow wet with desire. I might as well have been naked, for the way his eyes stripped me bare.
At one point, I caught him subtly adjusting himself. When he did that, I closed my eyes, overcome with a wave of need. I ran my hands over my breasts and down my torso, further stimulating myself. I could imagine my hands down his pants, feeling his hardness beneath my palm as I squeezed it and made him hiss with pleasure. And when my hands skirted farther down my body, I imagined it was his, seeking to give me the same pleasure that I was giving him.
And that was how I spent the rest of the night. Seductively beckoning Grant to join me. Secretly wishing he would answer my unspoken call. When a man I didn’t know came up and pulled him away, I watched him leave the club and felt an odd sense of loss blanket me. What was happening to me?
