I sometimes go to cool places and do rad things, and then I am always too busy/distracted to take photographs.

Follow Friday

I almost forgot, which would have been a shame because I’ve been waiting for this all week:

+knucklewhite, because her taste is flawless and her tumblr is gorgeous.

+agenao, because he’s way funnier than I am.

THEY ARE GREAT. THE END.

What will you do if no one nominates you for yuletide?

I will cry real tears. And wait hopefully for next year.

Last one, I swear. I can’t fangirl over how badass Javert is without giving Jean Valjean his due. What is so boss about Jean? (Wolverjean, y’all. Thanks, Hugh Jackman, for being in everything.) A lot of shit, but from just here:

This takes place after “Look Down,” where all the prisoners on chain gang duty are literally singing about looking down. Everything is oppressive and awful in general. And then here, we have Javert specifically signalling out Jean (24601). So the cop is yelling at him, and Jean looks him RIGHT IN THE FUCKING EYES because fuck the police

The subtext here is clearly that Jean could kick the shit out of Javert, but he does not—will not. And that restraint, that this great big beast of a man with all this physical power in addition to all that anger—that tension is what is essential to Jean Valjean.

I will know I have made it as an artist when my work gets adapted into a musical with male leads angrily singing at each other during fight scenes.

Also, how boss is the moment at 0:39 when Jean Valjean is all, “in mercy’s name, three days are all I need!” and Javert’s answer is to DRAW HIS FUCKING SWORD? So boss.

"It’s a perfect day! It’s beautiful weather! I have a beautiful boyfriend! I have a beautiful dog! I am in love and the person I love loves me back! I am healthy and feel fantastic! I am a beautiful me! Everything is wonderful!

Time to go inside and write more scenes of people crying in hospital rooms!”
