SERIOUSLY? This is the most idiotic thing I have seen today!

1. “Punk” is not defined by having pointy hair (or head-dress?) or ugly checkered clothing. It’s an anti-establishment attitude that goes along with abrasive music.

2. Defining “muslim punk” is just as ignorant and separatist as “afro-punk”, “black skinhead”, “white reggae” or any other stupid portmanteau of “my-race/religion-hyphen-all-of-our-subculture/genre”. “Punk”, as it IS, unhyphenated, is ALREADY open to people of all colors & backgrounds. There is no need for ever “hyphenating” punk, unless you are specifically talking about the style of a genre for musically descriptive purposes (i.e. “pop punk”, “Hardcore punk”, “street punk”).

3. If you’re so serious about being “punk” (anti-establishment), then just go withOUT the hijab! If you CAN’T go without a hijab in your country because of a Muslim-run government or because of hardline Muslim religious violence, then why define yourself as “Muslim punk”? Why not just be a punk from Turkey?

4. That crazy pointy thing on her head really seriously makes her look incredibly ridiculous and she wears no patches or any other visible symbols of what she is supposed to be representing ideologically. So, she ends up just looking like a crazy person. How will this do anything positive for muslim women?

‘21 year old Tesnim Sayar was born and raised in Odense, with the Turkish Muslim descent. She defines herself as Muslim punk and grow rebellious punk clothing style and culture, but live according to his own religious beliefs.  Tesnim says:’

“my message is also that you should not continue to believe that Muslim girls are just sitting at home is boring.  . I’m tired of people’s generalizations and stereotypes about Muslim girls. Therefore, I am punk.”

1. So cool.

2. I want that dress.

Wow, fuck you.

1. Who curr?

2. Punk definitely isn’t as inclusive as you think it is. I’m not even a part of the punk scene but I’ve seen heard “_____ People just don’t look right wearing/doing punk.”

3. Cause she wants to wear her hijab? It’s a part of who she is and she should be allowed to do what she wants.

4. HAHAHAHANO (Man, for something so anti-establishment I didn’t know Punk had a uniform…)

Wow what a racist, ethnocentrist asshole. Ha this butch thinks she knows more about muslims than muslims themselves. She wants to wear the hijab, she’s not being forced to. Punk is more thank that, fuckin poser don’t tell me what punk is bitch.

Reblogging for the takedowns of sisterzion and because Sayar looks badass

The punk hijab is totally fucking badass. And you can wear your hijab if you want to because being your fucking self is the most punk rock thing of all.

Also,  man, I’m constantly looking for LATIN-PUNK because I am punk and also Hispanic, and sometimes you want a flavor of punk that echoes your own experiences. And that’s punk rock, too.

Just FYI, this is my very good looking, very spoiled dog. I also have a very good looking, very spoiled boyfriend, but he’s more difficult to catch on camera.

so apparently anne rice wrote a werewolf book?

so apparently anne rice wrote a werewolf book?:

…and I was living under a rock because I had no idea this happened.

My childhood vampire crush line definitely started with Dracula—I’m way old school that way—but Lestat and Louis weren’t too far behind…

Is Winter Wolf going to be available through Barnes and Noble? I'm a Nook user, and your book sounds really interesting!

Hey, anon! I really appreciate the interest in the book. For now, Winter Wolf is under an exclusivity contract with Amazon and only available for sale on Kindle. There are some free Kindle apps you can use, and every so often Winter Wolf itself will be available for free. (Pssst: the next sales day is Valentine’s Day. Tell your friends!)

Of course and ahem ahem, I’ve also been told that Winter Wolf has apparently been uploaded to a site specializing in ebook piracy, so there’s probably some way to get it on your Nook.

In April, the exclusivity contract is up and I am considering selling through other platforms. Hope that helps. Happy reading!

I'm a lady of wealth and taste

This is me.

I wrangle words. In my youth I was a mercenary wordslinger, a hired gun. Now, as my bones ache and creak with the weary, ancient weight of 20-something years, I write for me.

Actually, I write for you, dear reader.

Here is a thing I wrote.

It’s about gay werewolves. It’s a gay werewolf romance, actually, as you can see, which is what it’s marketed as. But it’s more than some dude that’s sometimes furry getting it on with some other dude, because I lied a little when I said I write for you. I do write for you—I do, I  do—but I also write for me, which is what I said the first time. And I was so bored, you see, of reading the same story with some dumb as a rock alpha wolf grunting over the tiny body of  some mewling twinky omega wolf or painfully oblivious human. Boring! Boring! Boring! Potentially super hot, the first few dozen times, but booorrring after a while.

I like my romances between equals. Power dynamics are super sexy, but there’s more to it than me-wolf-me-boss vs. you-human-you-lose-stupid-human.

But whatever! Not everyone wants to put that much frowny faced thought into their romance, so, hey! You totally don’t have to. I play it legit: it’s a romance. It’s a slow burn of sexy, sexy werewolf romance. It’s fresh and new and exciting! But it’s also a straight up romance.
