“If you say in the first chapter that there is a rifle hanging on the wall, in the second of third chapter it absolutely must go off. If it’s not going to be fired, it shouldn’t be hanging there.”

This is Teddy and Billy (so: Hulkling and Wiccan) from Young Avengers, not, you know, Leander and Axton, but the way the proportions are drawn here? Almost perfect. Axton’s a smidge closer in height to Leander, maybe, but Leander is, of course, the blond buff one.

Anyway, you should all read Young Avengers because it’s a great comic but also because Teddy and Billy are the cutest couple, and I don’t mean “couple" as in “two ambiguously straight male characters people write slash  fanfic about," because I mean “couple" as in “two out gay characters in an actual cannon relationship that everyone is aware of and they are cannon boyfriends." And it’s GREAT.

“Yes, I have tricks in my pocket, I have things up my sleeve. But I am the opposite of a stage magician. He gives you illusion that has the appearance of truth. I give you truth in the pleasant disguise of an illusion.”

Royal baby? Pfft.

RICHARD STANLEY IS MAKING A LOVECRAFT MOVIE.

Is this really real? Really? For real? I mean, there’s actual footage, unlike the torturous tease that is del Toro’s hints at Mountains of Madness.

Richard Stanley! Lovecraft!

ohmygodwhat

The soundtrack guys had a lot of fun with that trailer.

Also, by this point I’m pretty sure del Toro is conducting a wide scale psychological experiment and not actually making a film.

So my favorite thing about this book, the sequel, is that I get to write a few fight scenes. And having Axton the polite and neurotic—sweet, skittish, Axton—in a place where he is repeatedly slamming someone’s head into the ground is basically the best thing ever

The boy and I are finally watching The Killing (Danish original), and I have no idea how I’ve somehow remained totally unspoiled, but … I have.

Okay, you were right, world. It’s great.

Can a Mikkelsen really not be the villain in something? I’m on tenterhooks. I’m having…

I’m so confused by reblog conversations! This looks like I’m talking to myself.

No, I haven’t seen the Pusher trilogy yet, for shame! I’m a huge Nicolas Winding Refn fan (ugh, so good), so it’s on my behemoth to-be-watched list. Lest I mislead you, it’s actually Mads’s brother Lars in The Killing, and not Mads himself. It’s really compelling viewing, though, and Lars is fantastic.

I realized waaaay after the fact that you sad “a Mikkelsen." Siiigh!

To anyone else reading this, knucklewhite is excellent, way more on point that me about basically everything, and her blog is BEAUTIFUL.

DUDE, have you seen the Pusher trilogy yet? The first one was his film debute. He CAN play scruffy and unsophisticated and not creepy!

Still a criminal, though. And who am I kidding, still a little creepy. Definitely not a badass mastermind like he is in seemingly everything else, though.

Anyway. I MUST WATCH THIS.
