Dina Wakley INSPIRES...
i have been counting down the days until Dina came to teach her inspired weekend at the studio. i am so enamored by her art, color palette and especially her faces.
i have never been able to draw faces.
i have even boasted that i dont like drawing faces...but lately i have been really curious as to how Dina made her whimsical brush stroke style ladies.
when she called the group over to demonstrate i was right there. what she taught made 100% sense to me in theory, but i had yet to try my ha...

do you remember that paintable wallpaper? well this is one of the leftover bits and to add even more textural contrast i filled the remaining space with the joint tape...YEAH!!!!!
lots of paint layers, some tags and random people that i dont know punched out of photos i bought on ebay...happy place!

brace yourself, this is going to be deep...
recently i have been been gifted by so many beautiful and brave woman their stories of how my blog, inspiration wednesdays, art and workshops have had such a positive impact in their life. each sharing with me that watching my imperfect process of creating makes them feel whole and full...inspires them to create or make a change in how they see themselves.
i am humbled.
i am grateful.

again lots of twists and turns this week...i liked it, i hated it...i kept playing through and i got here!
lots of color and drips.
if you look close you will see that i started with pages of sheet music, pink rub-ons and layered in alphabets and then from there it is kinda a blur, lol!l

fun video scrapbook...
i so very much enjoyed my time in Barcelona, Spain.
the travel, the tours the majesty of this country and the people are such beautiful memories.
i felt like i was welcomed into family the moment monica & luisa opened their soors to bill and i. the students were so generous and warm it was like spending the weekend with good friends. they even let me speak spanish and not laugh, lol!

inspiration wednesday + video
i really just wanted to use something different as the base of my pages this week..add some cool texture and the fiber paste is just so beautiful under the paint. although i did not have a clear idea of what i was making i really LOVE the way it turned out!

collage monday
this one really makes me happy, but it wasnt until i added the butterflies did i know how happy it could make me! the base is actually aluminum tape (like for airconditioning vents. i had been gifted it by one of my students) then layers of paint, some 7gypsies gaffer tape on the edges, lots of drops and drips of yellow Golden Fluid acrylics and i even threw in some gold rub-ons!
the yellow mini alphas are from my random stash and after i put them down i deceided to emboss with UTEE on top...
