collage monday - journal complete REVIEW!
i have officially finished my second Collage Monday journal! 48 spreads of creative HAPPINESS!
i love using the Moleskine Journals for my art, this one is the A4 Moleskine journal and measures 8-1/4" x 11-3/4. something about the sleek black covers and that it has a history of being used by literary masters makes me feel good about adding my mark to the pages.

oooh this week was FUN! i love abstract art, color and just plain painting without the stress of "painting something". i like painting "nothing" and making it something! got to use my montana pend and i broke out the stash of alphabet stamps i have been hoarding!

one INSPIRED wekend w/DJ Pettitt!
i didnt know what to expect, i just knew DJ's work has always inspired me...
she's a kindred spirit...creative, quirky, passionate, a giver and a genuine soul. i love her!
the weekend exceeded my expectations and the books, art, layers and overall feel of the atmosphere this weekend was bliss. (she has already started brainstorming her next weekend here in 2014 including a photography field trip, YEAH!!!)

it makes me GIDDY, truly effervescent with excitement to see the journal reach its completion...thick, bulky and bursting with creative goodness. next week i will have a "JOURNAL IN REVIEW" post taking a look back at some of my most favorite pages of the last 8 months.

DJ Pettitt is in the STUDIO!!!
i'm having lunch with DJ today before we go to the studio for her "Capture Your Vision" weekend at the studio!
i am so excited, i have been a fan of her work for years and almost pissed myself when she said "YES" to come teach at the studio.
some of my FAVORITE people will also be here this weekend taking her workshop and i promise to post pictures throughout the weekend on my facebook page and do a total recap of the weekend on my blog next week!

i got a little carried away with the watercolors this week but the effect of all the drips and pops of color worked for me in the end. i also love this quote, it is a great reminder to be brave.

collage monday
this is a perfect example of why you should never give up!
after layers...too many layers of "what if" and "lets see what happens when i" moments finally the page of textured accidents and general "ickyness" came into its own.
i love the embedded layers of color, drips and textures that emerged in the end.
make as many mistakes as you can in your journals this week! take risks and make all the "what if" moments a reality in your art.
