inspiration wednesday / 3 years in review...
this stack of inspiration journals represents 3 years of my life (each book takes approx 6 months to fill, one week at a time).
the documentation of my journey the past 3 years has been recorded in these pages and you can see my growth as an artist, experimenter, woman and the maturity in my style. i am thankful that so many of you have embraced this practice weekly with me and have given me to encouragement to continue.
this week i am taking a "personal day" to be with my daughter Payton....

love the tone on tone simplicity of this one.
it started with the herringbone tissue paper as the background and i simply isolated a few squares of it with cream paint. some drips and alpha rub-ons to finish it off!

summer road trip...
Summer is almost officially here and that means road trips. I will be hitting the road this summer and bringing some of my new workshops with me!
My first stop will be in Arlington, TX for F&W Media's Stitch Craft Create Event June 6-8th. I will be teaching 2 of my workshops which are just about sold out. However there may be a spot or 2 open.
The next stop is June 14-15th to visit the lovely ladies from She Scrapbooks in The Villages, FL. I always look forward to my yearly trip here and c...

inspiration wednesday + video
back from New Zealand, feeling all caught up on my jetlag and was excited to get my hands dirty today.
i wanted to make sure i revisited image transfers because there was one group i wasnt been able to review this technique with at the Creative Adventure Downunder event and it is such a fun way to add to your layered backgrounds!
hope you enjoy! (i totally forgot to pop my head into the frame this week. i blame the jet lag, lol)

inspiration wednesday + video
i was going for simplicity (mostly because i was short on time) and i feel like this page kinda fell short of par for my usual wednesday antics. not all of them can be a winner, right? mostly i wanted to make sure i didnt leave my loyal inspiration wednesday followers without a video this week while i am in New Zealand!

collage monday
lots of layers in this weeks pages.
tags were layered on the background and painted over with gesso and quinacridone violet. then i layered lots of green washi tapes to create stems and topped the stems off with lots of layers of red, yellow and orange inks and fluid acrylic paints.
i finished the flowers off with lots of quote stamps running the length of the stems and dots of white and black to make flower centers.

"Paint like an Artist" Workshop Event Highlights
All I can say is Wow! What an amazing time we had this past weekend at our very first "Paint like an Artist" Workshop.
I was so excited for this event and had been looking forward to it for awhile. The idea was actually created by Jane Martin and Janice Price who attended the inspired PanPastel Artist Workshopearlier this year. Thank you ladies for helping me design such an incredible and rewarding workshop.
All these brave and creative women stepped out of their comfort zones and trusted me...
