I’m Hoping The Movie Brings Me Some Cheap Books
I’m getting ready to go see A Wrinkle in Time soon. I loved the book when I read it as a kid back in the early eighties, and again as an adult in the late nineties. I flipped out when I saw the trailer for the movie, the first I’d heard there was going to be one…especially such a big production one. That was also when I heard it was a series, five books total (A Wrinkle in Time, A Wind in the Door, A Swiftly Tilting Planet, Many Waters, and An Acceptable Time). I’ve never read the other four.
However, the movie could help this out. I typically get most of my books at the local Goodwill. $1 per trade paperback, half that on 50% off days (I usually wait until 50% off day to go). The books that end up there tend to be more popular ones, just given the chances of what people have and decide to donate. The movie though, I bet more people will buy the books than have done so in a long time. Then, once they get done with them, more people will donate them. If they donate, I can get them for 50 cents.
I like the way my odds are improving.

This Time I Have A Defense Mechanism Against My Wife
I sometimes try to watch a TV series with my wife. I don’t watch much TV, but she likes it when we sit and watch together sometimes. However, she also gets impatient and watches episodes ahead when I’m not around. Then she doesn’t want to watch them again. I won’t watch alone, and won’t stay with a series for which I’m not following along episode by episode. This usually causes problems. However, this time I have a defense mechanism.
You see, we recently decided to start watching the Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell series together. We’ve watched two episodes together so far. For once it seems unlikely that she will watch ahead by herself.
Why? Well, I just finished reading the book. If she watches ahead and spoils watching the series together, I could tell her what happens. That would be mean…but so would watching ahead without me.
We might actually get to finish this one. It’s not as if there’s that many episodes left.

I’m Really Starting To Think This Is A Lucid Dream
I’m really starting to think this is a lucid dream. I’m sure you remember all those techniques where you try to program yourself to recognize some extremely odd thing in a dream to realize you are dreaming and take control. Recently, upon learning of the Toys“R”Us closing, I made a joke that maybe K·B Toys could take over their old store spaces. Then this came along: “KB Toys aims to fill the void of Toys ‘R’ Us.”
Granted it is apparently someone who bought the name and is in the business of resurrecting dead brands so my joke was still valid…but isn’t this a bit absurd? It was supposed to be an outlandish joke…and someone is actually thinking about doing it.
This has to be my signal that I’m dreaming.

I’m Thinking About A Vegas Vacation
I’m thinking about a Vegas vacation. I haven’t been yet this year so I was thinking about it, though I probably will wait until next year. Here are a few of the places I thought I might stay:
Any thoughts?

First Thing I Thought Of When I Saw McDonald’s Planned To Cut Greenhouse Gases
First thing I thought of when I saw McDonald’s planned to cut greenhouse gases? I thought that they were going to need to increase the digestibility of the food a bit (Literally, first thought. I wasn’t even trying to make a joke. It was just reflex.).
Yeah, I’m twelve.

I Wondered If I Could Find An Animated Gif Of Alf On Fire
I was wondering if I could find an animated gif of Alf on fire. I’m not sure what that says about my mental state today. Regardless, this was the closest I found before I got bored and gave up.
Interestingly, that also describes how I drifted away from his show. I’m probably not alone on that.

Remember: I’m Deleting The Individual Facebook Pages For My Books March 31
Remember, I’m deleting the individual Facebook pages for my books Bones Buried in the Dirt, The Garden of Good and Evil Pancakes, Not Quite so Stories, and Apocalypse All the Time on March 31. I’m sick of Facebook harassing me all the time. I just can’t take eight notifications begging me for money every time I want to post something, and even when I don’t. All news for any of my books will be on my Facebook author page instead. You can like that if you like.
Don’t worry, I don’t add people without request or send out invites all the time.

Imma Get Rich And Hire Someone To Repeatedly Set Up That Mouse Trap Game For Me To Trip
I used to love Mouse Trap. However, the game itself didn’t interest me. I just enjoyed tripping the machine at the end. It wasn’t enough of a payoff to keep setting it up though, so I didn’t trip it often. It was just too much work. Then I thought, why not get rich and hire someone to just set it up for me to trip over and over?
Now all I gotta do is become ridiculously wealthy so I can afford that.

Everything You Need To Know About Me
I had wanted a chemistry set for many years, but I finally got one going into my freshman year in middle/high school. The only even vaguely complicated part included was the distillation apparatus. It was just a straight glass tube and you were supposed to heat it in the middle using the provided alcohol lamp so you could bend it into the required shape so one end could go in a test tube where the substance to be distilled would be heated and the other end could go in the destination test tube where the water vapor would cool and condense. I am not patient or remotely handy and this was too much for me.
I got the tube bent halfway before it broke. I never was able to do any of the distillation apparatus experiments.
I think that says everything you need to know about me.
