Sometimes I Don’t Know If A Comment Is Spam/Abusive Or Not
Sometimes I don’t know if a comment is spam/abusive or not. I recently got one that was just F* OFF (spelled out full, in all caps). No particular reason was given. It looked like it had a real email and might have been a real person, but it was gmail and there is no way to tell. A real troll could have just as easily left a F* OFF comment for no particular reason. Then again, someone could have been offended by something I posted. It didn’t seem offensive to me, but that’s no way to judge. Without any more explanation, there was no way to judge. I didn’t want to let it through to look further, so I just deleted the comment from my spam queue and blocked them.
I’ll probably never know.

Mewkid Should Be Cartoon Cat Kids Not Fake Antibiotics
I keep getting spam on here for fake Amoxicillin from some site called Mewkid. That’s stupid. Mewkid should be cartoon cat kids, not fake antibiotics.
I mean, really.

Explaining the Unexplained
Yeah, as you might have guessed, the theme of the unexplained post the last three days is that I’ve been up in Canada visiting Glacier Park (US side too). It’s been thirty years since I’ve visited and I wanted to visit again while there were still glaciers up there.

This Has Been Ralph Week
This has been Ralph week here on the blog. We thank you for your patience.
This didn’t start out intentionally. First it was just a random picture of Ralph Snart because I didn’t have a good idea for a post that day and it suddenly seemed funny. Then I was doing a post the next day about a Simpsons animated gif and I realized it contained Ralph Wiggum. I wondered if I could do a whole Ralph week.
Turns out I could.
Sure, it was a little contrived. All right, a lot. It may also not have been particularly funny. That probably ends up being the case a great deal around here. Still, it managed to take up a whole week of posts. For that, I am grateful.

First Hero I Wanted To Be Situated Like But Didn’t Want To Be
Most of the time when you watch something you want to be the hero. It sometimes gets more complicated than that, often, but this is usually the case. Daniel LaRusso in Karate Kid, as played by Ralph Macchio, was the first hero I wanted to be situated but didn’t want to be.
I think a good part of it is just that I didn’t want to be Ralph Macchio. Yeah, I’d like to learn wonderful skills from a mysterious master, overcome my enemies, and all that. It isn’t even the illegal kick in the tournament. Ralph Macchio just always felt like kind of a goof, a sidekick, and I couldn’t ever quite imagine aspiring to be him instead of just to do the things his character did.
Maybe it’s just me.

What Seems To Be A Pretty Decent Movie That I Will Likely Never Watch
I assumed that King Ralph wasn’t going to interest me much based on the commercials I saw when it came out. I avoided seeing it as a result. Then I happened to catch the ending randomly when it was playing on TV one time and was actually pretty impressed. It was a much better movie than the trailers had led me to believe. However, I’m unlikely to watch the movie now for a different reason.
How likely is it that I would watch even a good movie all the way through after I’d already seen the end? No way to win for poor King Ralph.
