Other Things AWP Could Be
Well, AWP 2016 is about to start. For those in the know, that’s the annual Association of Writers & Writing Programs conference. It’s huge. Approximately 10,000 people attend each year. However, many aren’t in the know. Some who are in the know still don’t care. As such, I thought we’d take a look at other things AWP could be (courtesy of The Free Dictionary):

Photos From The “Not Quite so Stories” Reading Friday
I just wanted to take a day to share some photos from the Not Quite so Stories release reading at the BookBar last Friday:
Thanks to everyone who took photos and let me access them. I was otherwise occupied, so I didn’t have a chance to take any myself. Thanks to everyone who picked up a copy at the event, though the book will of course be available on Amazon for anyone who didn’t manage to make it.

Thanks To All The People Who Came Out To The “Not Quite so Stories” Reading Friday
I just wanted to take a second to say thanks to all those who came out for the Not Quite so Stories release reading at the BookBar last Friday. It was a good time and I was happy to see everybody there. Hopefully everyone was as happy to be there as I was to see them. Hopefully I should have some pics and videos from that up on the book website soon.
The Goodreads giveaway has finished as well. Copies will be going out in the mail to the winners today. Hope everyone enjoys reading. We actually ended up with an amazing 737 people entering, which obviously means not everyone could win. Sorry to those who didn’t, but hopefully people can console themselves by the fact that they can still buy a copy if they’d like. (I really, really hope they do.)
In any event, thanks everybody!

James Meyers Makes Me Think Of “Family Guy”
I’m sure you’ve heard about James Meyers. He’s the one who was arrested recently for purportedly not returning a VHS tape of Freddy Got Fingered that he rented back in 2001. The warrant for the charge, which apparently only carries a $200 fine, was still active despite the fact that the video store has since closed. This immediately made me think of the bit from Family Guy where Lois makes some comment about needing to return tapes to Blockbusters right before a cutaway where she tosses the tapes in a crater.
Normally I’d provide a link to a clip of that here. However, I couldn’t find one. I couldn’t seem to find a mention of that happening in Family Guy. Maybe I’m remembering it wrong. Maybe it was another show entirely. Anyway, let’s look instead at what might be only of the best clips (in my view, some people didn’t seem to like any clips at all and I wasn’t a huge fan of the movie overall though I did find it funny for the most part) from Freddy got Fingered:
