Someone on Reddit recently shared how he turned a windshield repair skill into a thriving side hustle…
I took a course two years ago and learned how to repair chipped/cracked windshields.
After MONTHS of trial and error, I was able to build a killer side hustle out of it…
In the beginning I was making around $150/day and then it quickly got busy to where I was making $500+ /day…
I made $50-$80/hr, and I got to work on my own schedule. If I didn’t want to work one day, I would just shut off my lead gen.
It was the cheapest business I have ever heard of getting into. I think my initial equipment cost ~$450.
Customers would visit his website, input their address and phone number, and he would drive out to fix their windshields 
The actual repair took only 15 minutes, and the demand was high, with apparently 35% of cars on the road in the US having windshield damage.
His marketing strategy relied on…
– Automating my advertising and lead generation strategy for less than $30/day in ad spend…
– Partnering with insurance companies (70% of my revenue was from insurance companies – most plans in the US cover rock-chip damage…
– Partnering with car washes and car dealerships
It was a nice blue-collar side hustle, but…
I want to move to Florida soon to pursue a joint-venture with my cousin. So I recently sold my business.
Sounds like that joint-venture might be an online course teaching other people how to do windshield repair.

The training isn’t ready yet. I need to meet with a dozen or more people to validate what I’m building before I launch. Happy to chat with anyone on this thread. But price? Not sure yet. I paid $1,200 for the technical training (100% online) two years ago.
I could see that training doing very well if it’s priced at $500 or so, would save people a lot of time and money.
And it’s an interesting blueprint to consider for building an online business 
Alternatively, you could partner with someone who has already mastered some blue-collar side hustle, help them create an online training for it.

and recently email marketing has been quite effective!
Sure, you could probably just use ChatGPT to create coloring pages similar to ColorBliss.
But clearly Ben’s specialized app produces superior results and people are happy to pay for it

I created my first Telegram channel in 2022 while working as a data analyst. The main goal was to share useful resources and my experiences. But after a few months, it became an additional source of income.
I have several Telegram channels, in Russian and English.
I earn about $5,000 a month from them…
Additionally, my Telegram channels are great platforms for promoting my own projects.
How it started…
I created my first Telegram channel in June 2022. Within a few months, with just over 1,000 subscribers, I started earning money and selling ads because advertisers began reaching out to me.
This channel is in a pretty narrow niche: a Telegram channel for beginner data analysts. In my posts, I share useful content that helps subscribers learn for free, practice skills, find internships and jobs worldwide, and much more.
Now…
The channel has over 15,000 subscribers, and last month I earned about $3,000 from this channel alone.
To monetize this channel, I use sponsored ads. Each ad now costs $250, and I post about 10-12 ads per month, gradually increasing the price.

but you can still clearly see the ad spots.

Clients mostly found my channel and reached out to me, but I also used newsletters and ad exchanges like on Telega Exchange and others to attract clients.
Telega.io is a platform that apparently has “over 70,000 advertisers [that] are ready to pay for your Telegram audience”
But ads aren’t the only way Maria is monetizing…
I earned about $2,000 from NEW channels last month.
I monetize my new channels mainly by selling my own products.
– It’s an excellent way to earn money for experts in various fields (lawyers, fitness trainers, psychologists, etc.). An expert runs their channel, attracts targeted subscribers, and sells their services or consultations.
– You can also sell any of your own products—SaaS, physical products.

Pick a niche; you only need 50+ searches a month to get a handful of leads that can turn into a stream of consistent client work!
Niching down is significantly easier, because you only need to learn about one industry, target one audience and become an influencer in one niche.
That’s a nice framework to validate service business ideas
If you don’t have an Ahrefs subscription, use a keyword tool that offers a free trial. I use SERanking (aff link) which offers a 14-day free trial.
Find a juicy keyword, then build a simple website that describes the service you offer and invites people to book a consultation.
You’d need to optimize the site of course so you can rank #1 in Google ahead of competitors 
But that shouldn’t be too hard in a small niche.

How Ayman got started…
Originally I started with short-form content, but everyone was offering basic short-form content. Like they didn’t have an offer, they didn’t have an end result they wanted to give…
When I started out, I didn’t really know what end result I could promise.
I didn’t know how many views I could promise… I didn’t know anything. I was a noob.
This [TikScale] is my third time starting an agency.
I didn’t know what I was doing, so I was like… I’m going to make a crazy offer where I’m actually just giving the deliverable, but I’m going to put a cool spin on it.
So I was like, I’m going to make you 60 shorts in, 2 hours of your time per month.
How I did this was, we’d hop on two Zoom calls per month for 1 hour long each, and then I would ask them questions, they would answer, I would clip it up, turn it into 60 shorts a month, and this offer was so simple but it was so freaking fire.
Then he started cold emailing potential clients, which got him to $15K/month in 4 months 
Soon after Ayman hired an editor to help him…
I realized that my client who was getting the best results was the only one doing YouTube with us, so a light bulb went off and I pivoted towards primarily focusing on YouTube.
Because the problem with doing short-form content was like, in our prime, we were doing 360 shorts a month, so it was like 10-12 a day, and it was a lot, and I was quality checking all of that.
And I’m doing 360 shorts, and I’m getting paid $15K.
So then I was like, okay, this guy, he’s getting quantifiable results, we’re making him money, he went from $30K a month to $75K a month.
I was like, screw it, let’s double down on this YouTube stuff.
Now, he’s also growing his own social channels via video content which helps him get more clients…

Within hours of a shooter attempting to assassinate Donald Trump at a rally on Saturday, countless products emblazoned with an image of Trump, bloodied and fist raised, were for sale on e-commerce platforms.
For example, listed as bestsellers on Amazon are this $12 mug and this $16 t-shirt 
Lots of similar products on Etsy, including a bunch of digital downloads.
This $7.50 digital download is listed as “popular now” and I wouldn’t be surprised if it has sold 100s of units already
I also found this $11.49 gag gift on Etsy. It’s basically a fake donation receipt to the Biden-Harris campaign that people can send to Trump supporters.
Etsy Hunt estimates that 867 sales of that product = $9,961 revenue 
Perhaps more impressive is this Trump Merica Svg.
Priced at $2.66, Etsy Hunt estimates 1384 sales = $3,681 revenue
And that’s a digital download, basically just an image, no shipping costs. People buy the image to put it on t-shirts, stickers, etc.
Back to that Verge article…
Any enterprising sellers with two free minutes and a Redbubble account can get in on the action — and so far, platforms seem willing to accommodate the merch. And if there’s money to be made, you can bet someone out there will try to make it.

And now that Biden has dropped out of the race, I guess there will be a market for merch related to whoever replaces him.

Business Idea: Help People Create Telegram Bots

I think everyone should have their own Telegram bot.
Mine is called Baldrick. He tells me:
– MRR/ARR and other stats across all of my apps (max once per day, I try to never check them otherwise)
– If error rates for a worker task went above 50%
– Refunds issued by my customer support person
– Weekly app usage metrics
Baldrick runs on a basic Python script with a scheduler that calls Telegram’s API

Mine sends me the weather every morning and tells me what I should wear based on that. It’s been delivering every day successfully for 5 years now.
I’m thinking somebody could turn this kind of thing into a freelance service
Set up custom Telegram bots for companies or individuals.
Or perhaps you could build a platform that makes it easy for people to create their own Telegram bots.
Apparently Telegram has almost 1 billion monthly active users so plenty of people could use something like this.

Years ago I bought an apartment for $300k.
Rented out for $600/mo after expenses.
Lots of headache with the tenants & things breaking.
Today, most of my web directories make more than $600/mo.
It took me years to earn the cash for an apartment and it took me one evening to build and launch one directory.
These 20 directories were built using @unicornplatform in few hours.
Unicorn Platform is John’s own website builder that he acquired back in 2022.

I came up with the idea by scrolling twitter feed and seeing what’s trending and then testing these ideas for SEO traffic using Google Keyword Planner.

The links on my directories are affiliated links, I get paid for every sign up via my link.
On this one link alone as you can see on Marc screenshot I got $280/mo. Just one link.
I have 1000+ links.

Put more buy buttons on the internet!
In John’s case, those “buy buttons” happen to be affiliate links on directories.
He says he has about 25 directores and most of them make at least $600/month. So likely a total of $8000/month minimum, and it all sounds fairly passive
Directories are something anyone can build pretty fast with no-code platforms like Unicorn Platform, Softr, WordPress or Webflow.
And you can use tools like Easy Scraper to scrape data 
Like job boards, the trick with directories is probably persisting through that initial stage where you don’t get much traffic.
An idea here: you could build local directories in your country for each state/city for different type of trades and business (plumbers, pet shops, accountants, etc).
Instead of affiliate, you could monetise by charging for top positions in the directory.
