Motivational Videos = 💰💰💰
Ismael Diaby tweets a screenshot of a Facebook ad and writes…
These Informational data products are KILLING it.
How do I know? The comments under their FB ads
Check this one out, they’re selling 500 Motivational videos bundle for people to post on their Insta and TikTok
The videos are basically short clips of people like Kobe Bryant or Tony Robbins saying something inspiring.
It links to this sales page, where they’re selling the product for $15 a pop.
Unclear how well they’re doing but as Ismael notes…
The comments show interest
– Asking if they can have the videos without subtitles
– Asking if it’s available for other niches
Wouldn’t be surprised if the guys just printing $$
The FB page running the ad is Digiluxxe Coloring Books and AI Prompts.
They have < 500 followers but have run ~1400 different ads in about a year and currently have ~50 active ads for different products.
Given that, I also wouldn’t be surprised if they’re printing $$
Someone asked in the comments Ismael screenshotted…
Is there a pack of motivational videos just of powerful women?
So there’s likely a market for these kinds of videos in different niches
Also, wouldn’t be too hard to hire someone via Fiverr or Upwork to create a bundle of short motivational videos for you

How He Earned $38K With No Marketing Skills (Controversial)
Shri VatzFounder of Guidejar $38,000 net revenue Published August 12, 2024 by Fardeen KhanReviewed and edited by Niall Doherty Shri Vatz is the founder of Guidejar, an AI-powered app that helps you create step-by-step guides or interactive demos
Shri recently posted on Reddit…
I grew Guidejar to $1100 MRR with a good product and no marketing skills
An excerpt…
So, here’s how it all started: In October, I launched Guidejar on twitter.
Excitement? Yes. Panic? Yes.
Marketing? Well, that was a bit of a mystery.
Somehow in the first month, I managed to get two early subscribers from twitter.
Next month, during Black Friday…
I decided to run a LifeTime Deal (LTD) offer. I posted about it in a lot of channels. The result? 7-8 people bought the deal. It wasn’t a huge number, but it was progress!
That likely prompted his next step
I took a chance and set up an LTD campaign on AppSumo… Once the campaign started, for the first few hours, I had very few website visits… But the next day, it just too off from nowhere…
The campaign ran until March, and by the end of it, I had over 1000 paid customers and $37K in net revenue.
The sales via AppSumo were one-time payments, not subscriptions.
However…
Once Guidejar took off on AppSumo, things got even more exciting. People started making YouTube videos reviewing Guidejar, and customers began sharing their experiences in Facebook groups.
Then…
I started doing cold outreach, tried out ads, sponsored newsletters and bunch of other things. Fast forward to today, and we’re now at $1100 MRR. It’s been a rocky journey, but a wonderful learning experience.
Opinions differ on whether an AppSumo LTD is a good way to promote a product.
It worked out well for Shri, and it has worked out well for others
For example…
We Made $200,000 on Appsumo Deals In Just 2 MonthsMeanwhile, here’s someone tweeting about the downsides…
Don’t forget, with each of those “success stories” of people making 50k on an AppSumo launch in week… there’s 70% taken out of their cut, then taxes…
50k soon becomes 15k becomes 11.25k…
It’s still great for a side project, but then you have to manage all of those users forever and your project becomes a lot harder to sell.
A fair point, but it’s worth noting that the $37K revenue Shri mentioned was what he was left with after AppSumo took their cut

Surprising Way To Find Clients (Alternative to Upwork / Fiverr)
A web designer named Les tweets…
I was wrong about @contra. Within the first 30 days, I secured my first lead, earning up to AUD$100/hour
That’s about $65/hour USD
Contra is a relatively new freelance marketplace, similar to Upwork and Fiverr.
Les adds…
Revisiting the platform after three months, I saw what I had missed out on.
Back then, traction was slow, and without reviews, my impatience got the best of me. I gave up too soon.
We previously shared the story of Vasco Monteiro, who earned
Vasco was a beta user on a new marketplace site and said “getting in early was such a HUGE advantage.”
So if you’re a freelancer or agency looking for work, might be worth keeping an eye on new Upwork alternatives like Contra
A couple of others that fit the bill: Vettted (SEO) and Legiit (misc).
This Template Earned Him $10,000 in 4 Months
Samar JamilWeb Developer $10,000 revenue in 4 months Published August 12, 2024 by Fardeen KhanReviewed and edited by Niall Doherty Samar Jamil from Pakistan
makes templates for Framer, a website builder that’s a bit like Wix or Squarespace.
Samar recently tweeted…
I made $10,000+ in four months from a single Framer template – the fastest I’ve ever made this much from my Framer template business.
This is from my Framer template, Luma. And this amount includes $2,500+ from template sales, while the rest is from client projects.
That last part is important…
The template is quite complex for those new to Framer and unfamiliar with its workings.
Additionally, the Membership functionality powered by FramerAuth can be challenging for beginners to grasp.
So two of the users who bought Luma Template ended up having to ask for help on customizing the template to their needs plus also setting up the Membership feature for them.
Helping me in generating $10k+
So, once created, Samar’s templates generate passive income for him AND send new clients his way.
You could try this with Framer yourself, or any other platform that uses templates
Another idea here if you’re a developer…
Find the best-selling templates on a template marketplace.Reach out to the developers, ask if they get customisation requests that they’d like to outsource to you.Give them a referral fee for any clients they send your way.First time seeing our Online Money Maker profiles? 7 New Mind-Blowing AI Examples
Min Choi tweets…
Claude 3.5 Sonnet + Artifacts is a game changer.
People are now able to create apps, tools and more in wild use cases.
Claude AI is an alternative to ChatGPT
Artifacts is basically a live preview window within Claude, so it can show you what a requested chunk of code does, rather than just giving you the code.
50-second video demo on YouTube
Anyway, Min goes on to share ten impressive examples of Claude + Artifacts.
One mentioned is a researcher at Anthropic (Claude’s parent company) pumping out tons of code despite a broken hand…
I broke my hand while biking to work in San Francisco and could only type with my left hand.
By using a combination of voice-to-text and Claude, I was still able to write a tremendous amount of code at my job at Anthropic, including one week when I wrote over 3,000 lines of (admittedly, boilerplate-heavy) code!
Some other examples from Min’s thread
And here’s Sahil Lavingia showing how Gumroad (a $20M business) is using Claude + Cursor (code editor) to “save a crazy amount of time, energy and money”
…
Related: FLUX.1 pro is a new, open-source text-to-image generation model that is causing a stir.
Here’s an example output of people who look very real, but they’re AI
One thing’s for sure: the future will belong to the people who learn how to leverage these powerful new AI tools.

$10,000 From an AI App Built With No Code
Ambar ShrivastavaFounder of CoverDoc $10,000+ revenue Published August 8, 2024 by Fardeen KhanReviewed and edited by Niall Doherty Ambar Shrivastava launched CoverDoc in March 2023
How he describes the app in a recent interview…
Job seekers provide details about the job they’re applying to and CoverDoc creates a tailor-made Google Doc with company insights, interview prep and personalized cover letter in the preferred language of the job seeker.
The numbers
As of June 2024, CoverDoc has 14k total registrations with 16k+ prep documents created…
– Total revenue: $9,920
– $1,250 MRR for subscriptions + $200 in PAYG revenue per month
– 87%+ profit margin on subscription plan
– 35+ mins saved per job application
How CoverDoc came to be…
As a job seeker I was frustrated with how long it took to research companies and write personalized cover letters for each job application…
I started playing around with writing prompts in ChatGPT that pulled in data from my LinkedIn profile along with the target job title, company and job description.
Over time I learned how to write effective prompts for a variety of use cases related to job search.
Initially I built CoverDoc to solve a problem for myself and to stand out as a job seeker in a competitive job market.
The surprising part is that Ambar didn’t code the app
He built it with no-code tools…
The very first version of CoverDoc (just me as a user!) was a simple Airtable form + Zapier integration to connect to OpenAI and Google Docs.
For the next version, Ambar used Softr, another no-code tool that can turn a spreadsheet into an app.
Goes to show how anyone can build an app nowadays
The technical side of things is easier than ever.
Perhaps the hardest part now is figuring out what to build, what problem your app will solve.
Ambar built an app to solve his own problem
which is a common pattern in the success stories featured here.
You naturally have a deep understanding of the problem if you experience it yourself, and you’ll know if your solution is any good.
Then it’s mainly a matter of finding other people who experience the same problem, and offering them your solution.
So keep an eye out for problems you experience that an app could solve
Then get busy with some no-code tools.

This Niche Software Makes $416,000 Per Month
Daniel RuscignoCo-founder of ClinicSense $5 Million annual revenue Published August 8, 2024 by Fardeen KhanReviewed and edited by Niall Doherty Daniel Ruscigno is the co-founder of ClinicSense, which is…
A software platform that helps health and wellness practitioners run their businesses smoothly. Its all-in-one system includes online booking and scheduling, charting, finance, and communication tools.
Per a recent interview, the business is currently earning $5 million per year
or $416K/month…
ClinicSense launched 12 years ago and is now a successfully bootstrapped and profitable company with a close-knit and fully remote team of 15…
Today we have just over 7,500 users across ~4,500 accounts. All paid.
How it started…
The idea for ClinicSense stemmed from [co-founder] Mike’s experience working for a marketing agency that specialized in marketing services for wellness business owners.
This agency encouraged business owners to spend a lot of money on a marketing service called “recall cards.” Recall cards are those old-school postcards sent in the mail to get you to book your next appointment.
This mail-out method was expensive, but Mike saw an opportunity to automate it using software that would save the business owners money and be more effective in helping them grow their businesses.
Initially, Mike approached his boss to see if he would be interested in sourcing or building a solution based on his idea —but he wasn’t.
That’s when Mike came to me to discuss launching a business (we are cousins!)
Traction…
We attended several conferences to share our product with the different niches in the preventative health space. That’s how we discovered that massage therapists had the strongest reaction to what we were building, so we started there…
After we validated that we had “product-market fit,” we ran ads on Facebook and Google to attract more customers.
Another key factor in our early days to gain momentum was, after gathering enough clout and customers in the space, we approached some of the large massage therapy associations to form partnerships.
Content marketing has also been big for them, in the form of educational blog posts and free printable templates
Daniel’s advice for aspiring entrepreneurs…
I’d recommend that you start small. Build an MVP quickly and try to get customers fast.
Don’t try to perfect your product; you don’t need something perfect.
You need something that you can sell…
To stand out from the crowd, I recommend niching down and doing something for your niche that nobody else does.
That’s your best shot at being successful.
I love that they started with massage therapists
And I bet there are still plenty of niche professions that could use some tailor-made software.
Do you know someone who works in a niche profession?
You could try chatting with them, see if there’s a need for something like ClinicSense in their industry

$10 Million Writing Business: Nothing Passive About It
Nicolas ColeCo-founder of Ship 30 For 30 $10 Million revenue Published August 8, 2024 by Fardeen Khan
Nicolas Cole tweets…
Our portfolio of writing businesses recently crossed $10,000,000 in lifetime sales.
• Ship 30 for 30 [course + community]
• Write With AI [paid newsletter]
• Premium Ghostwriting Academy [course + community]
This is lifetime revenue (combined over the past 3 1/2 years) across our portfolio of writing businesses
Nicolas and his co-founder Dickie Bush started Ship 30 for 30 back in 2021, where you’d join a cohort, write and share your writing for 30 straight days.
In the tweet, Nicolas goes on to share some lessons learned en route to $10 million
Such as…
People drastically underestimate how much work all the above takes…
Over the past ~4 years:
• I have written and re-written our entire Ship 30 curriculum 10+ times…
• I wrote thousands of tweets and Twitter threads to drive traffic…
• I wrote the entire Premium Ghostwriting Academy curriculum (100,000+ words). Then, a year later, I re-wrote the entire thing because hundreds of students had gone through it and we knew how to make it better. Another 100,000+ words…
• And every Black Friday, in a sprint (usually 2-3 weeks), not only did I write an entire new product we could sell, and an upsell order bump product, but I also wrote all the marketing sequences and upsell sequences.
He actually had like 12 bullet points there; I just picked some juicy ones.
All told, Nicolas estimates that he wrote “several million words” in the 3.5 years
He continues…
Any creator who says, “I make $9 million dollars per month only working 30 minutes per day” is lying for clickbait—and it drives me nuts, because it trains the next generation of entrepreneurs to think this sort of stuff is “easy” when it’s not.
It takes serious work.
Next lesson learned
There’s no such thing as “passive income”…
Like most things in life, but especially when it comes to digital products, the moment you start to ramp down “effort,” revenue goes down with it…
if you want your business to keep generating cash, you need to keep deploying effort.
There’s nothing “passive” about it.
Check the full tweet for lessons on pricing, business models, and more.

18 Rules From a Pro Copywriter
David Perell recently interviewed Harry Dry, founder of Marketing Examples.
David writes…
Harry Dry is the best copywriter I know.
He’s built a 130,000-person newsletter teaching people how to do it, and by the end of this interview, you’ll be at least a Green Belt in copywriting.
He then goes on to share some of Harry’s rules for writing.
A taste
13) Write with the delete key. Using fewer words lets you be more impactful with the words you keep.
14) The job of a sales page is to make a bold claim at the top. Then spend the rest of the page backing up what you’ve said… with a ridiculous amount of proof.
18) Great copy reads like your customer wrote it. Talk to them.
You can watch the full 76-minute interview on X or YouTube

Sold His Simple AI Tool For $30K After 10 Months
Shahryar RajabpoorFounder of Summify $40,000 estimated total revenue Published August 5, 2024 by Fardeen KhanReviewed and edited by Niall Doherty Shahryar Rajabpoor (@devhe4d) tweets…
I just sold my first-ever startup, Summify, for $30,000
Summify is an AI tool that helps you “transcribe and summarize videos in only a few seconds”
Shahryar writes…
Summify started as my weekend project last October. I only knew how to code and nothing else. But I wanted to be a solopreneur….
I didn’t do any validation ( I didn’t even know what validation is ) I built Summify because I needed it myself – Scratching my own itch.
I just built it and shipped it and posted it on Reddit. I hope for the best.
Three days after launching, I sold my first subscription
![]()
This was a good sign that people wanted my product.
Although Shahryar knew how to code, he had “no marketing skills” and struggled to spread the word…
It took Summify three months to reach $500 MRR…
After eight months, Summify hit $2,500 MRR and then settled around $1,500 MRR.
To get that initial $500 MRR, he notes…
Reddit, Linkedin posts helped a lot.
I ran 3 iterations of Google Ads campaign for Summify, each 2 weeks that drove good traffic into Summify.
You can see Shahryar’s Reddit posts here, and his launch announcement for Summify on Linkedin
Also, at least one of his Google ads can still be seen here.
Last words from Shahryar…
Looking back, selling my first indie project was a dream I didn’t know I could achieve in the first year.
Now, I’m more eager than ever to keep building and learning new things.
This is a good example of someone learning a ton by shipping a real product, getting feedback, and constantly trying to make it better
Shahryar ultimately got paid something like $40,000 (app revenue + the sale price) to learn how to ship and market a product.
Also, it’s not like his idea was super-unique. Product Hunt is filled with doppelgangers
As Derek Sivers once wrote…
Ideas are worth nothing unless executed. They are just a multiplier. Execution is worth millions.
