$250K From His Psychedelics Newsletter in Year 2
Henry WinslowFounder of Tricycle Day $250,000 revenue in Year 2Tricycle Day is a newsletter about psychedelics
According to a recent interview with the founder, Henry Winslow…
Started in 2023$77K revenue the first yearInvested all that revenue back into the business$250k revenue the second yearNow at 60k subscribers
Main monetization via sponsors…
A single-issue ad buy currently costs around $1,500
And I love this: Henry launched an agency off the back of the newsletter…
Let Go Studio works with clients in the broader psychedelics industry, including retreats, clinics, and coaches, who generally have an ads budget of “at least $5,000 per month.”
Henry and his team provide full-spectrum Meta advertising services: strategy, campaign asset creation, monitoring, and reporting.
Sounds like he’s also monetizing via a professional directory and a paid community for psychedelics practitioners
So he picked a niche he was interested in, built an audience via the newsletter, then figured out several ways to monetize.
How about trying this for another niche?

Leftover Restaurant Food = $162 Million/Year Business
Too Good To GoFood App $162 Million annual revenueFrom CNBC Make It on YouTube…
We Turned Leftover Restaurant Food Into A $162 Million/Year Business…It’s a Danish
company called Too Good To Go…
Its app connects users to retailers selling surprise bags of leftover food at the end of the day.
Love that they turned a waste product (leftover food) into a highly profitable business
I’ve heard of other examples of this over the years…
Used coffee grounds > fertilizer or compost businessSpent grain from breweries > animal feed businessSawdust from carpenters > eco-friendly fire logsUsed tires from auto shops > recycled rubber productsFabric scraps from tailors > stuffing for cushions or pillowsWaste wood from tree trimming companies > firewood businessThink about the businesses in your area.
Do any of them produce a lot of waste?
Could you turn that waste into a business somehow?

His AI-Generated Avatar is Earning $100 Per Day
Julian GoldieSerial Entrepreneur $100 daily revenueJulian Goldie recently posted on YouTube…
Deepseek: How To Make $100/day (with PROOF!)
… That title is a bit misleading: Julian posted an AI-generated video (this one) on his popular YT channel and earned $100/day from ads…
Tough to replicate without an established channel
But at the 10:45 mark Julian goes on to show another way to earn money with this tech.
The tech is HeyGen (free version available), which can create…
an AI version of you that speaks 175 languages, moves naturally, and always follows the script.
The idea
use that tech to create AI avatars for clients on Fiverr or Upwork.
Example gig on Fiverr with 130+ positive reviews…
I will craft ai avatar talk video using script or voiceoverThe sample shown there is actually pretty poor quality compared to what HeyGen can do
Bonus: a HeyGen affiliate might be printing money via Google ads

$6400 Last Month From His Product Hunt Alternative
Thomas SanlisFounder of Uneed $6400 monthly revenue
From a recent interview on Indie Hackers…
Thomas Sanlis built a product directory years ago and put it on autopilot while it brought in an easy $2k/mo. But then, he saw an opportunity: Dissatisfaction with Product Hunt was growing.
So he pivoted the directory into a product launch platform. Now, Uneed is bringing in nearly $7k/mo.
Looks like Thomas launched the site in mid-2020
Uneed’s numbers from a recent month (source)…
29,000 unique visitors
145,000 pageviews
8,200 visitors redirected to product websites
$6,400 revenue
Thomas talks in the interview about monetizing via…
A “skip the line” optionPaid product reviewsSponsors (eg. on homepage sidebar)What other popular sites or platforms do see people becoming dissatisfied with?
Could you build a simple alternative and cash in?

He Got AI To Start a Business For Him While He Watched
A recent video from Chris Koerner…
Operator is an AI agent “that can use its own browser to perform tasks for you”
$200/mo for access, US only and has some restrictions. (Free alternative outlined here if you’re more tech savvy, and a $20/mo alternative.)…
Chris told Operator to…
Browse Facebook Marketplace Find people nearby who are trying to get rid of pianosMessage themOffer $200 to take their piano awayChris focuses on the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where there are 50-60 free pianos listed every day
Even if only a small % take the offer…
That’s 28 people a week agreeing to pay $200, that’s $5600 a week… that could be a six-figure business
Obviously you’d have to rent a truck to move the pianos, probably fees to dispose of them, and there’s a good bit of manual labor involved
Still, it’s impressive to see how he’s able to test out this idea with AI doing a lot of the initial work.
Well worth watching his video and thinking about how else you could use Operator to test your ideas
$30K/Year From Affiliate Marketing With a Small Audience
David RamosAffiliate Marketer $30,000 annual revenue
David Ramos writes on Reddit…
Between software, Amazon, and courses, my affiliate income has sat around $30k/yr for just over 5 years now… in total it’s just over $148k as of writing this.
Sounds like his YouTube channel has been key, despite only 4K subs…
Long-form (like 20+ min) videos that are low quality (just me and a bad mic and some screensharing software) have VASTLY out-performed highly edited videos that are shorter (5-12 min range).
David recommends promoting high ticket products
He gives the example of Kajabi ($2000/yr software), which he has talked about in several videos, each with his affiliate link in the description.
80% of my aff income has come from 5 products. The caveat is that I talked about them A LOT. Online and in person. They were actually good, and they actually made sense to recommend to my network (other writers, content folks, etc.).
David adds in the comments…
I made this video about 4 years back and still stand by a lot of the info. It’ll at least point you in the right direction and get you thinking about the foundational elements of what needs to work to make [affiliate marketing] work…

$5.5 Million Funding Round Hints at a Coming Trend
DaashCompany $8.25 Million in funding#14 on Glen Allsopp’s latest Gaps Income Report
San Francisco-based Daash confirmed a $5.5M funding round in January, bringing their total funding to $8.25M.
Daash tracks trending beauty products online
Glen likens it to another company he highlighted recently…
Eyva aims to help those in the beauty and personal care industry to monitor competitor pricing, social media buzz and the ingredients that make up their trending products.
They’ve essentially taken what you can find on broader, eCommerce-focused research platforms (pricing, new product launches, etc.) and focused on a single, popular niche.
Glen’s key point…
I wouldn’t be surprised if one day I’m reporting on other companies doing something similar for the sports niche, furniture space, fashion industry and more.
Think Exploding Topics or Glimpse but for a specific niche or industry.
Could you build something like this?
Maybe start simple with a newsletter that highlights trends in your chosen niche.

Tapping Into a $756M Market With Their Piggyback Product
Ricardo BatistaCo-founder of Gigsent $50,000+ Upwork earningsPosted on Indie Hackers…
We earned $50k+ on UpWork, but spent 100h+ to get those gigs – until todayRicardo Batista tells the story of how he and his co-founder were fed up spending lots of time pitching gigs on Upwork…
UpWork and others do a bad job at filtering and matching, so we scratched our own itch and built gigsent.com
I like their thought process…
Here’s a frustration we have with Upwork.Upwork is a massive platform (18M freelancers, $756M annual revenue). So lots of other people also have this frustration.Let’s build a product that eases that frustration. No idea if their product is good or if it will make much money – that will ultimately depend on their marketing efforts – but the idea seems solid.
Do you use a popular product or service regularly?
Are there any big problems with it?
If so, consider creating a “piggyback” product or service to solve that problem.

Topaz Labs recently tweeted…
We’re launching Project Starlight: the first-ever diffusion model for video restoration. Enhance old, low-quality videos to stunning high-resolution. This is our biggest leap since Video AI was first launched.
They go on to show several examples of old grainy video being transformed into HD footage.
Doesn’t look like the tech is generally available yet, but worth keeping an eye on
I expect it will be simple to use, just upload a poor-quality video and let the magic happen.

This new tech could let you do the same with old home video / VHS tapes, while upscaling at the same time
Likely a lot of older folks who would be happy to pay for that service.
