Winged Humanoid / Diamond-Shaped UFO Seen Near Same Location in Rockford, Illinois

I recently talked to a witness 'JL' who had a UFO experience and. then later, a winged humanoid encounter at the same location.

On the evening of January 1, 2000, JL and her son were traveling on Spring Creek Rd in Rockford, Illinois. As they approached Rock Creek they both observed a large diamond shaped craft hovering above the creek. The craft was brightly lit and there was a distinct beam of light coming from the bottom towards the creek. JL slowed the car and the craft suddenly cut off the beam. At the same time, the craft slowly ascended into the night sky.

JL and her son had lingering dreams after the incident and both started to notice paranormal activity around them.

Then on an October night in 2002, at around 8 pm, JL was again driving on Spring Creek Rd near Rock Creek. She observed a winged shape approaching her head-on. By the time this flying anomaly got near her, it swooped up and over the car. JL states that the winged being was humanoid in shape with two leg-like structures trailing below it. The wing span was so wide that it literally blocked out all the street lights. She estimates that it was 6 ft in height, black in color and had large wings approximately 12 ft in total width.

She immediately stopped the car, got out and looked down the road behind her. The winged being had vanished, but she noticed that the trees were moving as if a huge gust of wind had gone through them. She also stated that the being never flapped its wings. It seemed to be propelled by an unknown force.

JL has experienced a sense of consternation and anxiety ever since the incident, even though she now lives Tennessee.

Squirrel 'Monster!' / Pennsylvania Appalachian Bigfoot

“When I was 15 my dad took me hunting for the first time. It was the middle of the day so I decided to hunt small game. Found a good spot on a steep hill where a tree had fallen over that made a perfect place to sit. I was there for about 45 minutes and had probably 8 squirrels and one I just clipped and was screaming in alot of pain. To this day feel bad about. Next thing I know I was being charged by this huge squirrel. It had this crazy hair and was twice the size running full steam on the log I was sitting on. I took 5 panic-filled shots that thought would be my last when little Rambo didn’t flinch once and just jumped over my head off into the woods. I gathered my kills and got the hell out there. When I got back to camp, I told my dad and he just laughed. Thinking back it was pretty funny. Not sure if this is related or not but as a kid I always had trouble sleeping and even as an adult. Anyway a couple weeks after our hunting trip, I couldn’t sleep. My room was downstairs everyone else was up. So on this night I decide to try and sleep on the floor. I had a big closet that was to the left of the room and right next to where I was laying down. It didn’t have a door. It was actually under the stairs. So I'm laying on my right side facing the closet just about to fall asleep when something grabbed my right forearm! So I start screaming, trying to get this thing off me! It scared me even more when I started to feel this things features. It had a huge head and was wrinkley with a pointed nose it was wearing clothes and was 3 foot tall. Now, I was punching and doing everything I could but it wouldn’t let go. Its hand covered half of my arm. The first light I tried to turn on wouldn’t so I lunged over for the closet light. It, thank god, worked and it was gone just like that? This is not a story and just wondering if anyone has info or a thought? Could it have been the squirrel shape-shifter protecting his woods followed me home to give me a good scare? Man, only god knows. Thanks.” DD

“I remember 6 years ago (2013) when I was 19, me and a few friends went backpacking in the Appalachian range of Pennsylvania. We had set up camp in the early afternoon. We knew it was a dangerous area, so we each brought guns for protection against bears. Anyways, as it got closer to the evening at around 5 pm, I was fishing in a river about a quarter mile away from camp and I started to smell something bad. I couldn't describe the smell, it was just bad. I heard some rustling in the bushes about 200 yards away. It was quite clear that it was footsteps from the sound. Almost thinking that it was one of my friends, I realized that they were south of me, so I started to panic. Whatever it was is getting closer to my fishing spot and the smell started getting stronger. My fishing pole in my left hand and my right hand on my gun as I was getting ready to unholster it. I couldn't get over the smell, but at the same time, I was worried about my life. I kept my eyes looking in the direction of the loud footsteps. I can see a big open area kinda like a pasture about 65 yards away which is where the footsteps are coming from. I see what I think is a man in a possible reddish brown ghillie suit walking behind the trees on the edge of the open area, but the problem is that it was about 2 or 3 feet taller than me as I'm only 6'2, which was unbelievable. None of my friends are close to my height, but that thing that I saw was built. I can see the muscle movement of its legs. I'm no expert about Sasquatch, but I do know what I saw was no bear as it was walking on two legs (not in any way that I've seen).Both the legs and the arms are primitive built like an oversized gorilla. The thing probably weighed about 900 pounds. It ended up vanishing as it went to my right in the deeper woods, but after the footsteps stopped, I heard what sounded like chatter (kinda like some sort of Indian language).After the chatter stopped, the footsteps started up again, but it was footsteps going in one direction and another sound of footsteps going in the opposite direction. I never told my friends about the experience because I didn't want them thinking that I'm crazy. Some people might be skeptic about this, but I know what I saw and heard wasn't in the ordinary.” SW

Unexplained Humanoid Incidents

“A really small human-like creature. This hasn't actually happened to me but this has happened to my dad somewhere around 1972 (he was around 13 and he was told to take his grandma to her house as she's elderly) he and his grandma where walking through a field at night and eventually came across the road where his grandma lived on at that time where he lived there were absolutely no streetlights. The only light source might have been something coming from a different house. Halfway through the road he heard scuttling and really squeaky talking. He turned around and could just make an outline of a really small human figure (he said roughly the size of a stray cat) he said it had 2 arms and 2 legs. This was the point when he ran to his grandma and told her but with her limited eyesight she said she couldn't see anything. From that point onwards nothing strange has happened. Could it have been an animal of some sort? or was it really something human-like? It was in Ukraine and theres no folklore about it.” PR

“Has anyone ever encountered small black creatures? These things still haunt me. They are abnormally black like the color of charcoal. Their bodies are shaped like Boiling Flasks, that's the closest thing I can compare them to. They have eyes that kind of look like a dark glass void (almost like an insect's eye), and inside them are blinking lights that dart around all over the eye. I encountered this thing when I was in Boy Scouts, about 11 years ago, at a summer camp when we were out doing survival training. This thing stared at me from a hole beneath a large tree that was across from where I had made my shelter for a good 30ish minutes. There were 3 of them that I saw and they eventually disappeared down the hole. I didn't make any sound because I was afraid they would attack me if I did. I was freaked out and didn't tell anyone but my tent mate the next day. He thought I was messing with him so I just stopped talking about it. I've looked all over the internet because I still have nightmares about these things to this day, and I can't find any comparable stories for reference. Does anyone happen to know of anyone else encountering small black entities similar to what I described here? Maybe I'll try to draw a picture of what they look like. But that's not it. No these were not easily identifiable animals. They had no fur, and their bodies were like the color of soot or ash, except for the eyes which had these weird glowy lights in them. These things were a foot or more tall, they stood on two legs not like a rodent or anything similar. These were not rats, they were a foot tall and standing on two legs. I know what rats look like.” PF

"I was in the car at night on the way home with my mum about 5 years ago. We were on a dark road and something ran in front of us causing my mum to slow down quickly. The thing was running on 4 long limbs and was not a fox or dog as it didn’t look like it had fur, it looked like a human with really long arms and legs but it was running so fast it was almost a blur. My mum does not believe in ghosts or creatures or aliens but even she was seriously freaked out. We talk about it every now and then and we both agree it was one of the most spooky things we have ever experienced." LS

Iran: Bigfoot...or Djinn?

“Strange foot prints. I chose Bigfoot for this but it might be werewolf or I don't know? This happened to my brother years ago when he was camping with my cousin in Iran’s Mazandaran jungles. Let me mention, in these jungles, the only dangerous wild animals are bears. There are some other wild cats and leopards but they are rare and almost extinct and other animals are just wild boars. Iran has no monkeys or gorillas.

They headed to a jungle park resort and decided to camp outside of the park’s designated safe zone. At night, when he was sleeping in their tent, my brother heard some noises outside but he ignored it. The next day, in the morning when they woke up, they found a big human foot print except it had 3 sharp toes. The locals told them that it might have been a Djinn. He took a photo and showed it to us when he returned. The shape of the foot was exactly like a human except for the toes. The toes were almost human but a little sharper. Unfortunately my brother never knew the importance of social media then and government always ignores if anything like this happens so after a few months he deleted the photo. I remember I was scared of camping in that park for years during family trips but I always wish that he had kept the photo.” V

Grinning Man?

2018 – No Location “This was over a year ago and I haven’t been able to tell many people nor bring this up to many people online without the fear of judgement. One night in August, I woke up at 4:53 AM (yes, I have remembered and written down the exact time.) I had fallen asleep earlier that night watching Netflix on my XBox. The XBox shuts down after a certain period of activity and when it does my TV screen turns blue. Anyways, I opened my eyes to the blue light-filled room. I turned over and as I did I stopped midway. In front of my TV was not a human. And no, this wasn’t sleep paralysis; I was able to move fully and such. He had thin hair creeping out from this ugly hat. His sharp teeth were exposed and he creepily grinned at me. And that ugly striped shirt... f'ing horrible. He wasn't short but wasn't Slenderman tall either. I turned my head into the covers, barely being able to breathe but not wanting to look at whatever the hell that was. After what felt like hours but had only been a few minutes, I peered back towards the TV and the creature had now moved to the corner of my room. I then again turned away from it, tucking all my limbs under the blanket and curling up. I had eventually fallen asleep and when I had woken up in the morning nobody was there. I had then drawn what he looked like in hopes of someone knowing who or what it is. I was going to make a post about it right after it happened but I ended up holding off until now.” AG

Large Bipedal Creature Observed in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania

I recently came across the following account that occurred on December 18, 2019:

I was just (about 10 minutes ago) fishing in a small creek (east branch of the Perkiomen Creek) in Southeast Pennsylvania and saw something weird. I was fishing a small, narrow part of it (no more than 20 feet wide) and on the opposite side from where I was, instead of a bank, there is a cliff of about 15 feet. I was fishing on the bank and heard some rustling (not at all unusual), but I felt different.

I felt like I was being watched and I looked up and saw atop that cliff in the trees a figure. I had been where that figure was and judging by where it was and all, this thing looked to be about 7 and a half feet tall. I'm 6'2" and there was a branch a few inches above my head and this branch was at this creatures chest. Its fur was dark brown and I could tell by the way it moved it definitely was something that was 7 and a half feet tall (it's hips, knees, shoulders, elbows, etc. Bent at the right place so it clearly wasn't someone who was shorter in a costume). I'm not sure if it was someone in a costume or not, but I doubt it as very few people are over 7 feet tall.

I know it sounds crazy and I'm sure a lot of you will call B.S., but I swear this story is true. I left immediately, faster than I ever have. Again. I'm 6"2" and 220 pounds and by no means a small or weak person, but this thing would have dwarfed me and definitely could've taken me if he wanted to. I definitely think Bigfoot is real, and even more so after this experience. I'm not so sure of Bigfoot abducting kids because I don't think Bigfoot want anything to do with us (hence why whenever people see them, it's usually them running aeay from you), but if Bigfoot really did want to abduct kids, I think it could definitely explain the disappearances. I just felt like I had to share this story. JJ

NOTE: After looking over the map and taking subsequent comments into account, the area appears to be near Telford, PA in Montgomery County. I'm going to follow-up with witness in order to gather more information. May be worthy of an investigation. Lon

Investigating Bigfoot on the Dine Navajo Reservation, NM

This is a follow-up investigation to the Shiprock, NM sightings on August 17, 2015:


The last time I reported on the Crypto Four Corners investigations group, it was a location near the San Juan River in the vicinity of the Four Corners. It is the homestead of George Harvey, including his mother and his siblings. George had previously chronicled the behavior of the Sasquatch during the many years his family has lived on the property.


George Harvey, Nicholias Begay and the rest of the Crypto Fours Corners have been investigating local sightings, while Jc Johnson continues to research areas in northern Minnesota.

Recently, The team documented a 'Furry One' sighting that took place approximately 5 miles from George Harvey's homestead. The location is still within the Navajo Reservation and along the San Juan River. This particular sighting is believed to be one of the family group members from the previous habituation report. This small family group is part of a larger clan of approximately 17 individuals who roam within a 100 square mile range.

The witness explained that he and his son noticed a large black figure sitting on the rocks behind the property. The boy stated that he was playing basketball in the backyard and saw the large being watching him. That's when he alerted his father to it's presence.

The witnesses took photos of the Bigfoot...unfortunately, the cellphone only had a 1.1 mega pixel camera. Jc suggests using a minimum of 5 mega pixels in order to pick up detail.



Nicholias Begay mentioned that he traversed the rock face and ravine where the Bigoot was seen and where it traveled. He explained that these beings regularly sit on the rocks watching people and traffic.

George climbed up to the bluff and indicated where the brush had been trampled the entire length of the rock face. He believes it's possible that the Bigfoot sleep there since it offers decent cover. There is also a natural spring that runs along the ravine.

15 Ft. Blue-Eyed Gargoyle Summoned in the Ozarks

This story is only partly a first hand account. Events that may have led up to this point come from my friend group at the time. They were trustworthy but I only saw this thing once. A lot of the really intense encounters with the paranormal for me were in these woods beside where my friends lived. As for the previous events, basically I had this one friend who had had many encounters and dealings with various beasties and I learned a lot from him. The other two friends believed but not as deeply and poked hornets nests often and just did all around stupid stuff. Found this old book on satanic witchcraft (not that that in of itself is stupid), drawing sigils Willy nilly, pronouncing Latin wrong, started doing drugs experimentally (cocaine and heroine) but stopped, and cleaned up but they still did stupid stuff. They wanted tangible proof of this sort of thing.

They found an abandoned shack in the woods, drew some summoning circle in red spray paint in a window, and put some of their blood on it and did a ritual of some sort. Nothing happens. A couple of weeks go by and they are walking through the woods and they get all panicky for no reason like their flight or fight goes into overdrive and they get lost from the panic and see this thing in the tree tops following them. They finally make it back home and tell my other friend (the intelligent one) what happened and he thought they were just freaking out and it was probably nothing.

Another week goes by during which they tell me and we all make plans to hang out. We were outside chit chatting, smoking cigars, and enjoying the night. All of a sudden I happen to look across to the other apartment building and I see what looks like this massive hand gripping the roof and see this tail swaying but it’s giant. I ask them if they see it too and they did. We go around trying to debunk this.

The trees were down a hill and weren’t visible from the other side but then I see these bright blue eyes look at us on a massive head. We go back towards where we were in case we need to bolt inside and we can see better in the light. We keep watching and this very muscular arm hoists up this thing on top of the roof and it lays across it like a 15 foot long muscular cat. It was dark so it’s hard to say for certain of the color but it didn’t have fur and it looked dark grey. The head looked like it had horns but again it was dark. There was definitely something there but we weren’t sure what. It gets off the roof and hear it slide on the gravel down the hill and tear back off into the trees. Nothing else spectacular happens that night and so ends my personal account.

However they told me later that the two buddies, who did the so-called ritual got so freaked out, went back to the shack and destroyed the circle with a rock and didn’t close the summoning. They refused to go hiking there anymore after they told us that they saw this “15 foot tall, skinny gargoyle, no wings and blue eyes with no pupils, chased after them when they tried to go in”. Something freaked them out because the “edgy Satanist” and militant atheist started attending evangelical Christian churches. The only thing I know for certain is what I saw, the rest could be completely made up. I researched Ozark cryptids but couldn’t find anything that matched. My more experienced friend said he thinks they did summon a demon and severed its way back/hold they had on it so it attacked.

Collins from Griffin, Ohio called to tell of a weird experience he had:

“When I was young, me and my brother and my dad, we would coon hunt. I assume you not what that is. Well, we were running after a dog and we seen this orange light way up in the sky and we thought, oh, well, that's cool. So we kept on going through the woods and a little while later we noticed that it was way on the other end of the woods following us through the woods. It freaked my dad out and my dad was wanting us to take cover and all this... but then, all of a sudden, before we realized what happened, we were all back at the truck, like time fell out. Yeah. We were scared. (Church asks what the dad thought of it) Well, he told us never to speak of it. Never say of it. We were never allowed to watch Star Trek or anything scientific based, science fiction, nothing like that. Never allowed to watch anything like that. Me and my brother didn't know, we were just doing everything my dad said, you know. One time we were in this show and this one man starts talking about how he seen this UFO and all this and my dad keyed up and said, Yeah, my god, I seen the same thing. It freaked me out that my dad was saying all this. Totally blew my mind. And right then I realized why my dad never would let us watch that because it must have been a UFO.”

'Crow Man' Seen Hovering Above Chicago Washington Park High-Rise

I recently received the following information:

Hello, a friend shared an NPR article about the Mothman sightings in Chicago and I was shocked when I came upon your website and research.

On November 1, 2015 around 10 am I was chatting on the phone with a good friend, minding my business making plans for brunch, when I glanced out my bedroom window and immediately noticed something out of place. A very large “crow man” hovering over a high-rise apartment building about a block away from my house. A man, jet black from head to toe, upright hovering in the air about 5 feet above the Midway Plaisance Senior Apartments on E. 60th Street. For reference, this is a 17-story high-rise apartment building directly across the street from Washington Park on the south side of Chicago (miles from downtown and not a lot of high-rises in the area).

So I’m on the phone with my friend but I go silent as I’m watching this thing hovering and kind of spinning around slowly over the building and my friend on the phone starts asking me if I’m still there. I start describing to her what I’m looking at and of course she thinks I’m crazy. By the time I get off the phone to try and take a picture the thing starts to float away and move westbound behind some trees where I lost sight of it. I call my friend back and she is trying to rationalize that I saw some sort of life-sized leftover Halloween decoration flying 20 stories in the air like a balloon. I can’t say exactly what I saw as it was unlike anything I have ever seen or could even imagine, but it was alive and wasn’t any damn balloon. The whole sighting only lasted about 60 seconds but I got a good look at it from my 3rd floor window before it “flew“ away.

The thing had wings tucked behind it, but didn’t need them to hover or move around. I wouldn’t say it “flew” at all, it literally hovered in a standing position. It was jet black from head to toe, front to back. It had to be about 8 feet tall, and I could clearly make out a head, arms, legs, and wings folded behind it. There wasn’t a single cloud in the sky, and the sky was a crisp bright blue. It was so sunny that its jet black body looked iridescent with shades of blue and purple reflecting off of it in the sunlight as it did a slow 360 degree turn. From the iridescent color and wings I can best describe this thing as a “crow man.” It almost looked like how the feathers of a crow looks iridescent from where I was standing. At the time I googled “crow man sightings in Chicago” and couldn’t find any other sightings on the internet to justify what I saw, or help anyone believe me. I only told about 3-4 close friends and family members and they just kind of joked, filed it away mentally, and we all moved on.

Well, fast forward to about a week ago and one of the friends I had told my sighting to sends me this NPR article where I came across your collection of other reported sightings, each sounding eerily similar to what I saw. Now, I’m a busy college educated 'mom-preneur' raising 2 little ones, with a demanding career, and a side business, and don’t have time for any visits from the Men in Black, the government, or a creepy Mothman seeking revenge for snitching on him. But how is this not national news or a public safety alert? I literally started crying when I clicked on the map in that article and read a reported sighting from Washington Park in 2011 just a few hundred feet away from the high-rise building where I saw it in 2015. For reference, Washington Park is 372 acres, and this particular area is pretty close to the large pond on the southeast side of the park by 60th and Cottage Grove.

Wish I had more to share but honestly I was too terrified to run outside after this thing to take a picture. It had wings and didn’t need them to fly. I wish I could go back to minding my business, but really hope you can expose what is going on here. Let me know if you have any questions. M

'Hyena-Like' Cryptid Incidents

Late 2015 - Austin, Texas
A man working for a computer firm had just arrived in Austin, Texas. He had only just landed the job and was still getting moved. One night, two days after arriving in town, the man left work and was driving home when he observed a big wolf-like hyena-looking creature running on all fours beside his car. It kept pace with him. The man claims the creature looked 'part wolf/part hyena' and appeared to have hands. It ran “bizarrely”. It eventually veered off into the woods.

No Date – Alexandria, West Virginia
A truck driver hauling a load near Alexandria, West Virginia claims that he was attempting to avoid a pothole when he accidentally veered off the road into some bushes. He managed to get back on the road but, as he did so, he observed something “weasel-like” pop its head out from the bush. It then jumped back, on two legs, and ran off. It looked to him like a giant weasel but with a hyena face. It had claws/hands and short stubby legs.

Around 2015 - San Angelo, Texas
In 2015 an elderly woman was driving with her niece and her dog in San Angelo when they decided to pull over and let the dog do its business. As they waited, a large hyena-like creature came from under a nearby fence and attacked the dog. The hyena creature then proceeded to stand up on two legs and walk back towards the fence at which point the elderly woman attacked the creature with her cane allowing the dog to scamper away from its grasp and back into the van. The dog had a punctured lung but survived. Police investigated the area and they believed that it was a coyote though the woman and the niece believed otherwise.
