Cold, damp, overcast, and dreary. Still, funny how the weather has an effect on us humans more so than it does my trees. It’s probably welcoming the moisture while for me, it feels like it’s seeping into my bones. Time for the wooly jumpers.

The day seems undecided in what it wants to do. We have a fair amount of cloud cover blocking out odd patches of blue, it’s cool and there’s not much of a breeze. It feels like rain is on its way. I think this is the las of the sun we will see today. Still, the trees are looking good as their colours begin to sharpen into yellow and hues of red and brown.

Today sees a return to brilliant sunshine and a hint of late Summer’s warmth, but only in the sun. While the breeze is light, it still has a small nip to it. The top of my main tree is definitely turning a brownish-red as the leaves make ready to fall.

Cool, crisp, and very blustery, in fact, the wind is from the NE and biting reminding us that Autumn doesn’t last that long, and that winter is just around the corner. I’m sure, by the end of the month, we will have our first sprinkling of snow.

We have been extraordinarily lucky with the weather these last couple of months and, except for the odd day of rain, have enjoyed clear blue skies and plenty of sunshine. Cool and brisk out there with pretty much the same forecast for the whole weekend.

Our Neighbours

Birds … Sparrows, to be exact. The gather here, on this old bird house that sits right in the middle of the privacy hedge between properties. I haven’t seen any actually go inside the small house, but they do like to use this as a rally point.

Well, after the last few days of cold wet weather, today dawn bright, cold and with clear blue skies. It’s chilly and brisk out on the balcony, but hey, the azure blue skies more than make up for that. And the trees don’t look any the worse for wear after the rain. In fact, they are all starting to lose leaves and seeds.

Cold, blustery, dark and overcast with rain in the forcast. I think Autumn wants us to know she’s here and not going anywhere soon.

Meanwhile, my tree is definitely showing his Fall colours up top, while he still looks lush and green below. The tree to his right has yet to shed all those seed pods, I’m waiting for that day with glee, to go out and play!

Warmish and definitely damp, rain is in the air and while the major storm of yesterday seem to have passed us by—we had drizzle most of the day—I think we might get a bit more of a downpour today. Still, the trees don’t seem too bothered and continue to show their autumn colours.
