Tree Project – Day 45

Tree Project – image 45
Another day of mixed weather, patches of blue sky amid fast moving low lying cloud and rain forecast for this afternoon. Still, even though it was only 1 degree this morning, without the wind, it doesn’t feel too cold. Yet!
It’s amazing how, within the space of a week, the tree has turned a flaming red. It won’t be long before it’s bare.

Tree Project – Day 44
Torching the greenery.
Well, it is definitely autumn, and I can tell not just from the changing colours, or the cooler temperatures but that the weather has decided not to play nice. Changeable and capricious as if She’s flirting with us on what we might expect later in the season. Trying out or stamina never mind our resolve.
Wet, wild and windy today!

Tree Project – Day 43

Yesterday and today saw rather warmer temperatures than of late, and again, we’re expecting rain. The sunny weather was too good to last. We’re now seeing as much rain as sunshine. But that’s to be expected. It’s fairly sunny at the moment, with just scattered clouds. And, again, not a breath of wind today.
Today we can really see the vivid Fall colours on the trees. It’s starting to flame!

Tree Project – Day 42

Tree Project – image 42
A relatively mild day today, with scattered clouds moving lazily across the sky. But no breeze at all, the air is still and pleasant almost balmy in fact. A good day to take a walk around the neighbourhood and take photos of other trees to see the Fall colours.

Using A New Medium
THE NEW MEDIUM
The Medium in question, is the re-tweaked and repackaged online community focused on writers and content, and curating the written word. Alas, like many of these kinds of communities focused online, there are certain drawbacks.
Like, being able to join in the first instance.
At first, only a select handful could sign up, and write. Now though, the hurdle has become technical. Yes, it’s true there is no objection from Medium to my signing up and joining their once exclusive community, and sharing my writing and thoughts.
Except. I can’t. I mean. The Mac iBook I own is considered so old, I cannot use my version of Safari, running on OS X 10.4.11.
My Mac is consider a dinosaur, my software so out dated, their website will not function beyond accessing the front page. I am effectively locked out of playing in their sandpit from my iBook, my machine of choice for writing. Less distractions.
Dinosaur equipment and people who live and exist in an outdated software world are not admitted to this sleek new future of communicating and sharing. Even Facebook doesn’t play nice with my iBook these days. What about changing browser to Chrome? Forget it. Firefox. No can do. These companies no longer provide a browser that will work or is compatible with my machine. So even if I wanted to test them in accessing Medium, I can’t.
So while I would love to share my thoughts and short fiction with a wider audience, and find more readers through the Medium online. I am left to go it alone, on a website I built, using old technology, with antiquated software, both of which still work and function just fine, thank you very much.
that bright, shiny future, doesn’t look so bright or shiny anymore.
I’ll just have to continue creating my own medium.
Tree Project – Day 41

Tree Project – image 41
Breezy, and wet, the drizzle is slowly soaking everything. A little difficult to stand out on the balcony and trying not to get my camera wet too. Not that the trees look any the worse for wear, in fact, they’re probably soaking it up.

Tree Project – Day 40

Tree Project – image 40
Brisk, chilly and only 1 degree outside today. That’s offset by the fact that, once again, we have brilliant sunshine and clear blue skies. I think if this continues, we will break a record here, if we haven’t already, for the most consecutive days of sunshine!
I’m also beginning to think the forecasters are right though, this could mean a very cold winter. That said, the reds and oranges are now beginning to flame wonderfully on my main tree.

Tree Project – Day 39

Tree Project – image 39
It’s raining out there this morning and the one advantage, is it’s warmer. There is not even a whisper of a breeze, and the air is still, the rain falling gently. More a drizzle really. It makes the whole scene, outside, quiet and peaceful. I’m sure the trees are enjoying their gentle shower and probably in need to the fresh water.

Tree Project – Day 38

Tree Project – image 38
I don’t remember a year like this one where we have had such almost perfect weather—sunny with blue skies—for this length of time. It started in the last week of July and we are now past the first week of October, and still, it holds bright and sunny. Yes, it’s definitely gotten cooler and crisper each morning. But other than a few mornings of mist, and less than an entire week of rain, these last three months, we have enjoyed good weather.
I keep waiting for it to change, as I am sure it will.

Tree Project – Day 37

Tree Project – image 37
Well, it’s definitely autumn out there today. Not just cold, but chilly. A brisk, biting breeze. Clear, crisp and cold. And while we have a clear blue sky at the moment, they say we are due for rain later this afternoon. So I guess I better get outside this morning if I want to enjoy the changing colours. The trees are beginning to look more reddish brown and yellow, than green
