Tree Project – Day 55

A little on the cool side, we’re in for a stormy mixed-bag of weather today. We’ve had a heavy persistent drizzle that gave way to spots of blue skies in between heavy grey fast-moving clouds. That in turn gave us a round of sleet followed by patchy skies. The rain has stopped, for now.

Meanwhile, up top, the tree has lost a lot of foliage and, therefore, some of it’s lustre.

Tree Project – Day 54

Cool, overcast, and threatening rain later this evening. We still, nonetheless, had a dry day so far. The trees are losing more of their leaves with each passing day. They might even be bare by Halloween, next weekend.

Tree Project – Day 53

We are certainly going through a roller coaster ride of weather at the moment. One minute it’s really cold, then it’s raining, and in between either kind we have some more of that glorious sunshine and clear blue skies. It’s clear blue skies and cold again, this morning. And with the wind coming from the north, cold.

Tree Project – Day 52

Tree Project - image 52

Tree Project – image 52

Today sees a complete swing in weather direction from that of yesterday, which saw it cold and clear. Today there is a persistent rain falling from heavy grey skies, that looks set for the day. The only good thing, it’s warmer and there’s not a breath of wind. So at least, with a good umbrella, most will be able to stay fairly dry. I’m sure the trees a loving the much needed soak before the long sleep.

Only thing is, yesterday’s wind help stripe away more foliage. The trees are looking scruffy and sad.

Tree Project – Day 51

Tree Project – image 51

Wow, I thought it was brisk the other day but this morning? It was -5 outside! I think the Fall has moved quickly into winter or it’s coming sooner than I thought. Either way, there’s little or no breeze out there which makes it crisp rather than cold. And made all the more bearable because the sun is out in a clear blue sky. Hence, the cold temperatures.

Sadly, after yesterday’s blustery winds, my trees are looking a little bare.

Tree Project – Day 50

Tree Project – image 50

Cold, blustery, and heavy with a promise of possible snow in the coming days, the weather is, indeed, wintery. Even the trees look a little forlorn today. The wind is stripping leaves from them and it looks like, in a day or two, they might even be bare. All I can see from my window, as I look outside, are leaves tumbling through the air.

Tree Project – Day 49

IMGP7398

It’s a little frigid outside today, but besides the nippy cold, the sky is clear and blue with a light breeze that nips at the ears. My trees are nearly all turning reddish brown, some have lost their leaves already, and a few, linger in green, hardy!

But after the flurries of snow over this weekend, we are all in no doubt, autumn will be fleeting, and winter is on her way. Time to look for the long underwear.

Tree Project – Day 48

The weather is again very similar to that of yesterday. We’ve been having wet flurries of snow all morning long, in between the sun popping out from behind fast moving low lying clouds. Dark steel-grey clouds. Like today wants to share every kind of weather with us … will we get hail next?

Tree Project – Day 47

Tree Project – image 47

The temperature is just right today, we awoke to flurries of snow. Nothing serious, as it’s not really sticking to the ground and lingering. But still, it was fun to see. The trees didn’t seem to mind they are already closing down for the winter, getting ready for the long sleep. Notice the leaves, they are almost all red now.

Tree Project – Day 46

The rain is coming down steadily but, we must be thankful, not too heavy. More like a London drizzle that is soaking everything softly. There’s a kind of odd greyness to the day that mutes any bright colours. It’s the perfect kind of day to curl up on the couch and read a book, which I just might do.
