Description:Anguished over his father's lack of morals, Deputy Blade Beringer struggles to conquer self-doubts. When he and his K9 partner Rambo arrive in the mountains of northern Idaho, Blade is faced with a band of white supremacists, a homicide investigation, and a murder cold case, not to mention the task of training a gorgeous blond rookie.
Trainee Brandy Wilcox is bent on clearing her mother's name of a wrongful murder conviction. While working the homicide investigation with her sexy new training officer, she discovers a connection between the victim and her mother's case. The two deputies struggle to resist their mutual attraction and abide by the no-fraternizing rules, but passion blazes and teeters on the brink of love. With a killer targeting them and danger lurking at every turn, Brandy doubts their love can blossom, especially when she puts Officer Skip Coogan—Blade's best friend and father figure—at the top of her suspect list.
Warning: This title is intended for readers over the age of 18 as it contains adult sexual situations and/or adult language, and may be considered offensive to some readers.
About the Author:
Award winning author, Mal Olson, writes adrenaline kicked romantic suspense. She enjoys skydiving, ski jumping, SCUBA, hang gliding, big wave surfing, car racing, mountain climbing—that is, vicariously through her characters, who are always kick-ass, and often boss her around rather than allowing her to spin her stories the way she intends. (She did, however, personally engage in zip lining this past summer.)
Her debut novel Shadow of Deceit , released by The Wild Rose Press in 2012, is an edge of the seat romantic suspense-thriller set in Milwaukee and parts of northern Wisconsin. Shadow of Deceit  earned Mal a spot as finalist in WisRWA's 2013 Write Touch Reader's Award contest for published authors.
A couple of her favorite reviews came from Beverly at The Wormhole, who said, “Wow! This one has it all! Non-stop action, hot and sexy characters, betrayal, smokin' romance, and a thrilling plot--” and Gothic Mom's Book Review, which stated, “In the 150+ books that I read per year, there are very few that receive a five star rating. Shadow of Deceit  did just that. Non stop action, sexual tension, an adventure that had me on the edge of my seat...A fantastic book that had me from page one...”
Too Sexy For His Stetson is another romantic suspense-thriller. This time Olson's bossy characters lead her to the mountains of Northern Idaho, where a deputy sheriff and his female rookie deal with menacing white supremacists, a homicide, a murder cold case, and a threat to a nearby dam—all while trying to keep their hands off each other. Meanwhile, Rambo, the hero's retired K-9, quietly steals the show.
Olson also offers two short stories. Danger Zone , which has spent months in the Kindle top 100 free romantic suspense category, is a guaranteed fifteen minute pulse pounder where two strangers survive a rock 'n roll landing on an icy Milwaukee runway and chase a could-be terrorist into the danger zone. Me and Brad , a feel good romance, features an irresistible K-9 and was ranked in the Kindle free top 100 list for months in the Contemporary Romance category.

Excerpt #2
We’ll take a break here.” In shallow water, Blade jumped out and pulled the raft ashore. They tossed aside their life vests and helmets and climbed onto sun-baked rocks, settling on a boulder that rose four feet above the water and cantilevered over the river.
Brandy retrieved water bottles and a bag of homemade trail mix from the dry pack, poured a handful for herself, and handed it to Blade.
“Where are the M&M’s?”
“I ate them while I was mixing, so I added dried fruit instead.”
“Yum.” He turned up his nose and tossed back a handful despite the sarcasm. Then he surprised her. “So, suppose Secada lied about being with Skip the night of the murder. Aren’t there millions of people who weren’twith Secada that night?”
“Sure,” she said, a handful of trail mix midway to her mouth, “but the fact that Coogan lied about it is significant.”
“With Secada out of the picture, who’s to prove he lied?”
“Exactly. His death is so convenient.” Brandy’s stomach muscles tightened. Her gut feeling about Skip’s guilt remained as strong as Blade’s unconditional belief in the man’s innocence. “Why do you refuse to consider Skip could have a dark side?”
“Because his personal history is impeccable.”
“But—”
“Skip comes from a highly respected family. His dad was a cop who lost his life in the line of duty. And his grandfather was a Chief Inspector.”
“Things happen to people.”
“Not people who are made of the right stuff.”
“You really believe that? Like father, like son? And a person’s either born to be good or destined to be bad?”
He shrugged, and Brandy recalled his comment from the other night. I’m the product of an angel and a demon.“You’re living proof that theory is pure BS.”
The muscles in his cheek tightened, along with the set of his jaw.
“Blade?” She reached for him, not knowing her intention, simply wanting to reassure him. Before her fingers made contact with his arm, he grabbed her wrist. Her heartbeat surged. An eternity passed while his gaze burrowed into hers. Then he brought her hand to his mouth and nipped a Rice Chex clenched in her grip.
“Tasty...”
“You’re a good man, Blade.”
The scowl line on his forehead deepened.
She thought he was going to drop her hand and retreat, but he seemed to shake off whatever was bothering him, and suddenly heat simmered in his eyes.
She cleared her throat and tried to edge back.
“We could be headed for dangerous water, Brandy.”
“Are we talking about what I think we’re talking about?”
“I meant what I said. I’m not into serious relationships. You need to know the score before—”
“What? Before things get out of control and progress to the next level?”
“Something like that.”
The hair on the back of her neck ruffled. “Always so presumptuous—who said I want to take things to the next level?”
“So you’re not interested?”
“No,” she huffed. Then chanced looking him in the eye.
It happened so quickly, she felt like she’d been side-swiped by a Humvee. He jerked her tight against his chest, sealing his mouth over hers. For a second, every nerve in her body quivered.
She came to her senses, stiffened, and tried to pull away.
He held her tight. His tongue slipped between her lips, and his body heat burned against her skin. She couldn’t resist. She sucked him in, a moan escaping from her throat.
Before she had a chance to get her bearings and back off, he pulled away, a smile curving his lips. “Presumptuous, maybe. A bastard, definitely. But you just failed the lie detector test. Like hell you’re not interested.”
“Screw you, Beringer.” Catching him off guard, she gave him a forceful shove, and he flipped into the water. When he didn’t surface after a minute, she scurried off the boulder and waded into the water. “Blade?”
She started counting seconds.
“Blade, don’t mess around.”
Something clawed at her toes. Before she could brace herself, the something gripped her ankles. Her feet went out from under her, and she smacked the water butt first.
With a forceful kick, she freed one foot, twisted around and head-butted Blade in the gut. He snickered as he went sprawling.
Laughing, she sloshed toward shore, but before she made it to land, he caught her and spun her around to face him. And there she was again, in his arms, his chest snug against her drenched T-shirt. She could have freed herself with a well-aimed knee to the groin. But this wasn’t scenario training, and he wasn’t a perpetrator. And she didn’t really want to get away. Not with his blue eyes darkening, looking at her the way they were.
“For a drowned rat, you sure smell good. What are you wearing? French Potion Number Nine?”
This was her cue to knock it off and wriggle free. “Shampoo.” Eau de drugstore gener-eek. The extent of her collection of seductive fragrances. Then she realized she’d splashed on Tendre Amour that morning, a sample packet of her favorite perfume, which she couldn’t afford to buy.
“Yeah, you’re right it’s French.” She shrugged and tried again, half-heartedly, to pull free. He refused to loosen his hold. “Tendre Amour,” she said, pouring on the French accent. And, wow, if it had this effect on Blade, maybe she should have splurged and bought a bottle. Every time she went to the mall in Fort Shoshone she picked up at least one free sample.
His fingers threaded through her wet hair, tugging her closer, twisting a curl around his index finger. He inhaled.
Her pulse throbbed in her throat. She remembered his lie detector comment. “Is this another test?”
“For me it is.” He sighed and released her, stepping back, his gaze slowly sliding over her, top to bottom. It settled on the soaked image of Jon Bon Jovi’s smiling face.
5 Star Review
I received this book from the touring host for an honest review.
This is the first book I have read about this author, and definitely not the last.

Really? OMG. Adorable. Awww. Sweet.
Just some of the one word phrases that come to mind reading this book. Tension, suspense and action in the middle of a budding romance is now what I call a great read. With enough testosterone and hormones flowing, a sexy Deputy Sheriff and a gorgeous rookie and you have a winner.
The plot was exciting, and kept you guessing till the end. The villain was deceitful and treacherous. His scheming and murderous attitude always a thorn on our sexy deputy sheriff's side.
Feisty women, Brandy and Tonya, will keep you at the edge of your seat.
Brandy our gorgeous rookie clashed with Blake Beringer from the moment they met, in a somewhat peculiar situation that set the tone of the book throughout. Seeking justice for her deceased mother, convicted murderer, and the real killer of Marilyn Abbott.
The minute Lieutenant Blake Beringer set his eyes on Brandy, his new rookie he knew he had problems. Electricity flowed between them, filling the pages with sexual tension. Struggling with his identity as a man and loyalty towards the man who saved him, Brandy became the balm to his aching heart. Doubt always between them because of Skip Coogan, and his part in both their lives. One knew him as a monster, the other as a hero, which almost destroyed the budding attraction.
And I can not do a good book review if I do not refer to the K9 friend, Rambo. Ex-partner and retired Blake took him with him when he relocated to Idaho. The strong bond between Rambo and Blake unmistakable, and the true hero in this story. The phrase "a man's best friend" wonderfully illustrated within the book. He won Brandy's heart, giving her love and acceptance she needed which open her heart for so much more than just K9 love.
As they plough through the country in search for the terrorists and killer, they became a unique team. Both Blake and Brandy were confronted with their own issues, set it aside to have the one thing they both want. Home.
The story was set against the Shoshone River, with its rapids, down pours and beauty giving you a feel of a believable story and trusted characters.
The romance was building steadily, giving the reader just enough to make this a wonderful suspense filled read. Fast paced but not rushed, you were pulled into the lives of the sheriff's and the problems they faced.
The Neo Nazi Freedom Fighters tested all their abilities and knowledge, their self-righteous acts demeaning and barbaric. Causing more action and adventure between the pages. Spellbound till the end.
A story I enjoyed.

Excerpt #1:
There are people that bring elegance to any environment. Our VIP room definitely needed some elegance, built with functionality and economy in mind: worn black couches surrounding a small stage, black curtains on ceiling tracks that could be pulled around the couches, dividing the room into four private spaces, each with a view of the pole. This man sat on a center couch, leaning back, his arms draped out and across the couch, his feet crossed casually at the ankles, a lit cigar glowing from his right hand. Behind the couch, two men stood, their features hid by the shadows, their silhouetted builds impressive. Between them, the cigar smoke drifted across the man’s face, and blue eyes glowed at me, a smug smile widening as I approached.
I masked my apprehension, holding my posture straight, tits out, stomach in, a smile across my face. I walked directly to him and stopped before him. “You asked for me?”
He brought the cigar to his lips, taking a slow drag on it, his eyes raking up and down my body unapologetically. His eyes flitted to the pole, then back to my face.
“Dance.”
I turned slowly to the pole, feeling the absence of Rick, the emptiness of the room. It was odd that we were alone, that no one else was in this space. Even the bouncer had left, leaving me alone with the three men. The house music was piped through this space, a DMX song playing. I strode up to the stage, gripping the pole with one hand and doing a slow spin as I exhaled, releasing my stress and apprehension in one slow breath. You are okay. You are beautiful. You will be fine. I rolled my neck, repeating the mantra, my long hair sliding over my skin as my head moved. I wished for the lights, the bright lights that hid everything from me. Then I took another breath and moved, gripping the pole and swinging my body up and out into the air, a swirling motion that spun the room out of focus, allowing me a brief, short moment of invisibility.
I am reckless on a pole, trusting my legs and arms in a way certain to cause damage. It is a lover I hate and I ride it relentlessly, caressing it in a sensual way that leaves nothing to the imagination. The beat moved through me and I got lost in its strength, pulsating against steel, spinning away only to return to it, my heels a blur of clear sparkle, my thoughts lost in the movement.
My bra was the first victim. One quick unclasp, the release of heavy breasts as I spun slowly downward, my legs suspending my body upside down above the hard floor. One outward fling, and sparkles and black sequins became airborne and joyful in their flight. I kept my panties on, the thin fabric the only thing between me and the pole.
When the song ended, I was panting, my eyes finally moving, traveling across the floor and then up to his. Sometimes the most terrifying thing is eye contact. It certainly was at that moment, when I was exposed, bare and gasping, on the stage before him. He had the cigar in his mouth and want in his eyes. It was a look I was accustomed to, conditioned to. But on this man the look was different. Hungry and possessive, he ate me with his stare, with the blatant desire that he made no attempt to hide.
“Come here,” he commanded.
I moved carefully, down the steps on the stage, my sky-high stilettos wobbling slightly on their downward descent. Then I was before him. I watched as his hand moved, adjusting himself, the hard line of his cock outlined in his pants. He glanced at it, and then at me. “Suck me.”

Synopsis
Brooklyn Rosen had high moral principles and was raised properly. Married for over fifteen years, those standards went out the window along with her fidelity when she met Bo. After becoming a self-proclaimed “Home Wrecker” Brooklyn left behind her marital home, along with the damage caused by her emotional wrecking ball. But the whispered remarks followed. In “Home Wrecker: The Brooklyn Chronicles” we learn what shaped Brooklyn, the trials of an unhappy marriage and a deep abiding love that would not be denied. We meet a troubled, spiteful wife, who does not want to become an “ex”. Will Brooklyn and Bo survive, or will all be lost to a bitter woman?

Blurb
In the past, I mean before the infidelity, I had always been someone who could be trusted. I believed if you didn't trust someone, the results would come out in negative ways. Even though I never gave Gerard reason not to trust me, he always had fears and doubts. He saw me as a naïve “female” and thought every guy I came in contact with had an ulterior motive to move in. I always had to reassure him of my loyalty. Now that I had been caught doing exactly what he suspected, I gained a reputation as a cheater.

Author Bio
My first word was "cookie." That tells you just about everything you need to know about me.
I was born in Columbia, South Carolina weighing a meager three pounds, which was tenuous back in those days. As usual, I was early for my own birthday by three months. My theory is everyone's punctuality is innate. I'm early for almost everything.
My folks moved to Atlanta when I was nine months old and I stayed there until I was twenty-four. My itch was Manhattan. I can still remember signaling my first taxi and when that checker cab pulled over for me, I became Audrey Hepburn. Even though I understand the whys, I miss those over sized cabs and their character. There's nothing glamorous in putting your hand out for a yellow Prius.
I fell for a "Yankee" and never made it back to Atlanta. We tied the knot and made three beautiful children. Funny, my youngest son read the first few pages of VIRTUE, and his only comment was, "This is fiction, right?"My friends and family have been telling me to write for years. The challenge was coming up with the story. VIRTUE was inspired by scandalous newspaper headlines. A Governor got caught with an escort. That had me scratching my head. Why would a powerful man risk his career? And what about the escort? She looked like a pretty girl and came from a nice family. Then I researched the history of prostitution and came to understand why it is referred to as "the oldest profession." Yes, prostitution is in The Bible. My second novel, MY FATHER'S AFFAIR, which should be published by June of 2013, was inspired by a true story. I took that story and raised the proverbial stakes. I changed the era and the setting. Things were much different in the early sixties. Small towns are like Cheers where everybody knows your name. But I think the most important aspect of writing this novel was the narrator. The reader sees the story through Ellie's eyes, the thirteen year old daughter, which intensifies the emotions.Writing gets me out of bed every morning. Okay, breakfast, lunch, and dinner are equally motivating. If I'm not writing, I'm reading. There is nothing better than a great read. My biggest hope is that you find pleasure reading my novels.Author Links:Amazon / Facebook / GoodreadsTwitter / Website

Interview
Q)  What would you say is your interesting writing quirk? A)  This might be too much information, but I scheme and plot in the bathtub.  There aren’t any distractions and I do my best thinking with a good, steamy soak.
Q)  Is there a message in your novel/novels that you want readers to grasp?A)  One of my reviewers said it best.  There’s no such thing as a perfect white-picketed fence.  That’s when you discover someone’s true character.  How do they fix the fence?
Q)  What books have most influenced your life most?A)  Stephen King’s novels make me throw my head back and say, “Wow!”  His descriptions, adjectives, and pacing just blow me away.  The man is a word artist.  But there are also two southern writers that are beyond mesmerizing and if you do sit down to read their work, take the day off from all responsibilities because you will want to give both authors your undivided attention:  Flannery O’Conner and Harper Lee.
Q)  If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in any of your books?A) I would probably change the cover of Virtue.  It gives the impression of “erotica,” which is not the case.  So I would make the cover less sexy.
Q)  Do you recall how your interest in writing originated?A)  I had an English professor in college who told me, “I actually look forward to reading your stories.”  Thing is, I always enjoyed writing, but she made me realize I had talent.  One day she told me, “Allison, I bet you could write a story about a toothbrush and make it interesting.”   I wish I had saved that assignment.  The toothbrush, Reddie, came to life, fuelled by jealousy that the “other” toothbrush got used everyday while Reddie just sat there unused and ignored.
Q)  What was the hardest part of writing your books?A)   Letting them go out in public!  My husband asked me, “When are you gonna be finished?”  You have to reach a point where you stop trying to make each and every sentence better.  In a way, writing is a form of torture.
Q)  Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?A)   Publishing your first book is like putting your baby on the school bus for the first time.  You don’t want to let go and you worry how it will do out in the world.  Saying that, I want to thank the many readers who raved about Virtue, went to the trouble to post a review, and told their friends about a new book they just finished in one day!

 CANDICE:  PREPARING FOR THE INTERVIEW
1983New York City

No, I’m not a virgin, and no, I’m not a prude, but I have slept with only three men.  The first was my husband.  The second was the private investigator I hired to see if my husband was cheating.  The third was my first one-night stand to see how it felt to have sex with a stranger.  Anyway, that paltry number will most likely soar to three men a day as if it were a tooth brushing or vitamin regimen. So here I sit, despite my weak résumé, doing research for my interviews reading Penthouse Forum articles, if you can call them “articles,” along with a slew of other magazines wrapped in cellophane.  My mouth is slack-jawed with astonishment; I feel like I just fell off the sexual hay truck.  What the hell is infantilism?             My first interview is tonight with André.  He’s the concierge at The Regal, a renowned five-star hotel in Manhattan.  André will be in charge of all of my appointments if I get the job as the “in-house” call girl.  If all goes well, I get passed on to Robert, the owner of The Regal, the following evening.  And if he approves, I proceed to the final interview with a regular client named Conner whose turn-on is humiliation.  He masochist, me sadist.  The girl I’ll be replacing has been a patient teacher and friend encouraging me with a “You can do this” mantra and having me respond with “I think I can, I think I can” optimism.  She even took me shopping for the get-ups I would need for each interview.  For André, she picked lingerie a bride would wear on her wedding night.  Sexy, yet classic.  For Robert, she chose a French maid outfit complete with black fishnet stockings and patent leather stilettos.  I was fine with both ensembles. Now comes the juicy part.  My outfit for the masochist.  Head to toe leather.  Even the leash is leather.  My thigh-high black boots have four-inch heels and I’ll be lucky if I can pass the hour without falling on my face made up with smoky eyes and burgundy lips.  The only time I dressed up was on Halloween or when I would sneak my brother’s little league uniform out of the Salvation Army bag and pretend I was a baseball player, which I would’ve preferred to the tutu I wore as a ballerina enduring the first, second and third positions of torture. My mentor offered advice for each interview:  “André is a gentleman.  He’s going to study you the way an art collector would appraise a painting.  (Translation: Would men be willing to spend five Benjamins for an hour of your time?)  If he likes the painting, he’ll pass it on to Robert.  Now Robert is a man’s man.  On the outside he seems like John Wayne, rough and tough around the edges, but he’s really no different than the average Joe wanting worship and adoration.  Just behave in awe at all of his Dale Carnegie accomplishments and you’ll have him wrapped around your finger in a New York minute, which is exactly how long it will take him to climax.  Both André and Robert are vanilla ice cream sex.  Conner’s a different story.  Treat him like a dog who just chewed up your designer stilettos.”I felt confident about André and Robert, but Conner had me anxious, no, terrified.  What in God’s name was I thinking?  It’s not like I announced at the family dinner table, “When I grow up, I want to be a prostitute.”   I remember wanting to be a princess, perhaps a teacher, and most of all, just like Mommy.  I took the high road.  It just didn’t work out.
My 5 Star Review
I received this book from the author for an honest review.
This is not a romance in the true sense of the word, you know woman meets man, fall madly in love, and they live happily ever after. Though it starts out that way. This is a women's fiction with drama and suspense filling the pages. Its about the power of a woman standing up in the midst of her struggles to overcome the odds. Yes, the path she takes is not the standard road, and many will chastise her for her decision,  but you can not judge a person if you have not walked in his/her shoes. That is the bottom line.
We meet two women Susan and Candice, worlds apart from each other. The one graduated from charm school in the South of USA, being the good, obedient girl. The other a high-class prostitute. Each woman had her own difficulties to overcome.
Susan did as her mother told her and married Jeff, and yes, they did love each other in the beginning. He was a true gentleman, worshiped the ground she walked on. Gave her everything her heart desired, but at the end it was all a farce to hide his own skeletons in the closet. At the end, she had to run away in fear of her safety and to protect her parents.
From love to betrayal it changed in heart-beat and she was bewildered and alone.  It became survival at all cost.
She met Paul, private detective with his own pains, protecting her all the way. His no-nonsense attitude and skill at her door helping her to create a new identity for herself.
Candice was in her own right a powerful woman, with men knocking at her door to buy what she sold. With compassion, living out their fantasies, and a penthouse in one of the best hotels in New York, with all the money to spend on lingerie and clothes her heart desired. Who would not love that?
And did I mention the different hats she wears? From sex therapist, to Harlem slave, to horse worshiper, and everything in between. All to help the wealthy men cope in their daily lives. Their wives too busy, selfish or just too boring to attend to their needs.
Well written, the characters became alive on the pages, and you get lost in the pages as you learn more about them. Learning startling secrets to add to the building suspense until you see how the power of a woman comes to play, surviving and still be a lady at the end.
A story I enjoyed from page one to the end.

"Within seconds, the light show vanished and Ian opened one eye. What he had experienced was not at all what he had expected. No unusual sensations fizzled through his body. He hadn't felt like he was plummeting in an elevator, or blasting through space like in a rocket ship. It didn't even feel like he might be racing down an escape chute on an airplane. No jet sounds, or hums, or buzzes, rattled in his ears."
And so young Ian Wilson enters the Realm. The first book of a trilogy, Deception Peak is a young adult adventure fantasy about a teenager, Ian Wilson, who follows his father through a portal that magically appears on their computer screen. They travel into a deceptively beautiful Realm, where horses run free, the wind sings prophetic melodies, and their computer avatars come to life.
But when the two are separated, Ian is abducted by a tribe of dragon worshipers and is forced to find his courage. As he struggles for his freedom and embarks on a perilous search to find his father, Ian meets the true peacekeepers of the Realm. It's then that he learns there is a greater purpose for being there.Book 2 and 3 The Dragon Shield and Rubies and Robbers are available now!If you enjoy dragons, sorcery, wizards, magic, legend, and fantasy adventure, than this series is for you!

Excerpt

Flames shot at Ian. He stumbled over the gravel, backing away from the dragon’s fury and from the fire surrounding him. He ran, knees buckling under him and slid toward the edge of the cliff. Hands outstretched, he grasped for something secure to break his fall, a rock, a limb, or a root protruding from the rocky precipice. There was nothing. Cold air howled against his back as he lost his balance. With a scream, he woke. Not another nightmare!Once Ian realized where he was, he sighed, thankful he was still in his bed under the covers. The moon cast a warm glow across his blanket and illuminated the cluttered desk, his homework, and an empty soda can. The sketches of swords he’d drawn that afternoon still fluttered in the draft from the open window. Yesterday's jeans propped the closet door open, revealing dirty socks that peeked out from the dark beyond. Ian rolled over and closed his eyes, hoping the cool breeze would bring comfort. The breeze turned into an icy wind numbing his body. Again he fell.He plummeted past the cold jagged boulders on a dark, lonely mountain, landing on a cliff. His body rolled and bounced off the rocks. Bits of gravel stuck to his flesh; the salty taste of blood filled his mouth. Burning hair sizzled and curled before finally being snuffed out in the dirt. He tumbled off a ledge and fell again. Flinging his hands over his head to avoid the stones and rubble that were airborne with him, he plunged even farther down the mountainside.Men dressed in deerskin with quivers on their backs, and bows in their hands ran out of a cave as he flew by. An arrow spun out of the fire, missed the dragon, flipped in the air, and when the arrowhead made contact with the ground, it planted itself deep in the snow next to him, as though it were a tombstone, the shaft vibrating with a silent lament.A stranger lay in a snowdrift, limbs hanging loose at his side, face bruised and swollen. It was then Ian realized he wasn’t the one who had fallen, but this stranger. The man smiled at him and then blond lashes sealed his eyes shut.A voice broke the silence. “Father!”Ian woke again.Beads of sweat dripped down his forehead and trickled past his ears. The curtains that framed his open window ruffled like ghosts dancing in the night while the neighborhood dogs barked at the moon.He lay there catching his breath as he did every night wishing the nightmares he’d had ever since his mother died would stop.

On the parchment of time a scene is drawnWhispering lines taking animate formLike pages of life its corners are turnedAgain and again until lessons are learnedA breath of sweet wind and motion is givenA Realm is created; a Life is within.

Available at:This book will be available for FREE during this barrage (Oct 7-8)Amazon:
Description:Books have always been Juliet Marlowe's sanctuary; the one place she would never be judged or made to feel like an outcast.  But when tragedy strikes, she has to get her nose out of the antique tomes she prefers and become the guardian of her five younger brothers and sisters.
Jules struggles to make ends meet.   And with the constant threat of losing custody of her siblings if she doesn't maintain the standard of living previously set by her parents, she finds herself forced to make tough decisions and take risks.
One thing she knows for certain is she definitely does not have room in her life for a relationship.  Especially with a man who's trying to readjust to civilian life and who once held a starring role in her secret fantasies.  No, absolutely not, she does not have any room in her life for Roman Price and his smoldering gaze that triggers her irritating blushes with only a thought.
But when everything Jules has built threatens to collapse on her, she finds herself not only accepting Roman's offer of help, but starts to question whether or not she misjudged the situation from the beginning.
Warning: This title is intended for readers over the age of 18 as it contains adult sexual situations and/or adult language, and may be considered offensive to some readers.
About the Author:
In between her to-be-read pile and trying to bring the characters in her head alive, Kristen spends as much time as she can with family and friends.  Much to her husband’s dismay, she enjoys collecting purses, shoes, and jewelry.  During those rare times she’s not working at her day job, rushing her daughters somewhere, watching movies with her husband, and trying to meet a deadline, she can usually be found energetically cheering for one of her favorite New York sports teams.
As with just about every other writer on the planet, Kristen grew up an avid reader.  She started with young adult before she technically hit the age range and moved on to sci-fi classics by Isaac Asimov and Ray Bradbury.  At fifteen, her best friend gave her a book shejust had to read!  The book was Honest Illusions by Nora Roberts.  Always a sucker for a happy ending, she was a goner and fell in love with the romance genre.  Having started writing novel length stories at the age of eleven, Kristen’s stories all took a romantic turn from that point on.

Excerpt# 1
A headache of epic proportions pounding behind her eyes, Jules maneuvered the Camry on to her street and felt a little relief when she spotted the work truck parked at the curb of the house.
Just as quickly, the relief turned into a nagging worry that the deck might be beyond repair and her father’s old friend might have to rebuild it from scratch.
The headache spread to tighten the knots in her neck.
Parking the car beside the equally ancient minivan, she removed her prescription sunglasses and replaced them with her wire-framed glasses.  Pushing them up her nose, she caught sight of the mustard stain on her blouse and rolled her eyes.  Today had definitely not been her day.
She spent her day dealing with computer crashes, angry patrons, and her supervisor calling every twenty minutes to find out the status on a variety of projects.
Now, sure Mr. Price would be telling her the deck repairs would be beyond her budget, she tried to prepare herself for the worst.
Blowing out a frustrated breath, she gathered her bags and moved out of the car.
Reaching the door, she could hear the riot of noise from within signaling all the kids were home from school.
She stepped inside and found herself in the path of a charging bullet in the shape of Orlando wearing a devilish smile on his lips and a large open bottle of bubbles in his hands.  Since the house rules dictated any and all bubble play needed be conducted outside, Jules dropped her bags and waved her hands in front of her to stop him.
Orlando came to a halt, barely saving the bubbles from toppling from his hand.  A giggle escaped when he finally looked up at her.
Giving him a stern look as she put her hands on her hips, “You know the rules,” she pointed towards the bubbles in his hands.
Sending her a wide grin, his bright sapphire eyes twinkling, “Just trying to pay Mark and Edgar back.”
Shaking her head, “Well, why don’t we just go find them and talk to them instead?”
Orlando slipped his small hand in to hers easily and grinned widely, “I learned about poems today at school.  We’re making poems to go with our pictures for Mother’s Day,” he informed her and then frowned.  “But don’t say anything, you’re not supposed to know.”
Fighting to suppress a smile, Jules nodded solemnly, “I don’t even remember what you just said,” she replied as she pushed the door open into the kitchen.
Holding the door open and smiling down at her youngest brother, Jules spotted movement from the corner of her eye.
Before she could react, the twins popped up from behind the counters on the other side of the room and pelted both her and Orlando with their beloved super soakers.
Within seconds, her blouse clung to her skin, the front thoroughly soaked.  Holding up her hands in a lame attempt to block the streams of water rushing at her, “Edgar William, Mark William!”  She yelled above the din of the boys’ laughter.
At her stern tone, the boys seemed to realize their dire miscalculation as they ceased fire and stared at her.  Taking a deep breath, fists clenched at her sides and water dripping down the lenses of her glasses on to her cheeks, Jules took two steps towards her brothers and landed on her butt.  Hard.
Pain radiating up her tailbone, Jules looked up to see Orlandohad dropped the bottle of bubbles in the mêlée.  A giant puddle of soapy liquid covered not only the floor, but now also soaked into her skirt.
Today has definitely not been my day, she decided silently, closing her eyes and taking another deep breath.
In the silence, Jules tried to assess whether she sustained any serious damage.  Not that I had money to go to the hospital if I did.
The back door opened and the sound of heavy booted feet stepped into the room.
“Hey, are you okay?”
At the unknown deep male voice, her eyes snapped open.
Humiliation gripped her.  Roman Price made his way towards her, a concerned expression on his face, and Jules wanted nothing more than for the floor to open up and swallow her whole.
Broader than she remembered, the vivid emerald gaze remained the same, maybe with a little more of an edge to it.  A red paisley bandanna tied around his forehead let her easily see that the blond hair causing hearts to flutter all those years ago still held a sun streaked quality although not as long as she remembered.  The soft edges of youth were gone, replaced by sharp chiseled features carved out of life.
Oh.  My.  God, were the only coherent words sliding through her suddenly incapacitated mind.

 5 Star review

Gruesome, and twisted but brilliant!I received a signed copy of the much anticipated book from the author RJ Smith. I have read many of the reviews on Facebook about this book, and it is true nothing will prepare you for the content of this book. Firstly, I have to say that I am not a horror fanatic, at all! Do not read books or watch movies in this genre. Just too gory for me, thank you. J Where to begin! The story is unique, well written with enough detail to see it happening right before your eyes. Like watching it on a big screen. I loved the clever snippets, with different fonts, creating the sounds and atmosphere as you read the story. The nursery rhymes gave it an eerie feeling as the story builds, layer upon layer to reveal all the twists in the plot.Shocking revelations that laid the sickness of humanity in horrific encounters, as bodies appeared. Piling up as Santa Claus walks the streets of New York.As a foreigner, who have never been in New Yorkthe descriptions of this city is entertaining, but yet amongst all the glamour and lights an empty world is revealed. Struggling street kids, worthless homeless bums, the filth of the streets giving you another glimpse of this well known icon in America. As I read the book, the well known phrase of Frank Sinatra’s song came to mind. If I can make it there I'll make it anywhere
It's up to you New York, New York
Life is hard, even here in this much talked about, dreams come true, tourist attraction. The characters were fascinating, well researched, always with a human side as the gruesome story unfolds. Stefan, a street kid’s character touched your heart as he faced the many difficulties of life, friendship, parenthood and survival. Ending up as a hero, and for the first time he knew he belonged. I loved all the different names of the Killer as the author kept your focus throughout the story line. Knee Bouncer or Cat Killer just to name two. I can not reveal too much J Buy and read the book,, really! The personality of this creep, his inward struggles with demons and ghosts as he walked the streets in his Santa suit, a real nut case on two legs. With bodies everywhere, blood always drips to announce his arrival. His sick and twisted mind in delirium, with his faithful hatchet in his hand, and ghostly voices in his head, always urging him on.  Rico Martinez, hard-ass detective, on his way out, and his team had to catch this man as Christmas comes closer. Chasing this man all around the sewers and filth, with shocking discoveries along the way. Even a romance developing, so sweet. JCaptivating and thrilling with actual facts mixed within the story line makes this a great read, one I can recommend to all fans of horror. It will keep you glued to the book, even after dark, with Santa’s ring tone in your head.Masterfully created to make this a Best Seller.I am really looking forward to more books out of this author’s pen (keyboard). J
See, he even rubs off on you!

Spotlight is on "I didn't know" with Yvette Allen-Tatum. 5 Star Review and Guest Post

“What happens in this house/family, stays in this house/family.” This practice of, “What happens in this house stays in this house,” has kept so many of us bound for years and is still keeping us bound today!Dr. Ellis O. Henderson, ED.D, M.DIV, Chief Executive Officer of NDUTIME Youth & Family Services, Inc.,

Why did you write your book?
I Didn’t Know – Identifying, Confronting, and Overcoming Child Sexual Abuse is only my second book.  Believe me; I do not consider this to be a small feat.  It’s just that I have yet to consider myself to be a writer or an author; at least not yet. Oh, I imagine that will come in time.  But for now, I am comfortable with writing for an audience of one.
My writings thus far, are about my life experiences.  As such, all of my writing is very personal to me.  I always seem to start out with a simple desire to put my thoughts, feelings, and experiences on paper.  I like to look over my life in print and reflect over the things I have done right (properly or correctly) and those things that I have done wrong (improperly; my mishaps or missteps).  I find this to be very cathartic.
The idea for writing I Didn’t Know – Identifying, Confronting, and Overcoming Child Sexual Abuse came from watching Tyler Perry on The Oprah Winfree Show one day.  On this particular show, he came forward to tell his story about being sexual abused.  From there, his story became a platform.  Then they, Oprah Winfree and Tyler Perry, took his story to the next level by having an audience filled with nothing but men who had been sexually abused.  I think this was two with separate shows; a show with just Tyler Perry and then another with Tyler Perry, perhaps a counselor, and an all-male audience.  At present, I really cannot remember the actual format of the show or shows; I just remember the impact it had upon me.  I thought what he had done, his coming forward, was very brave and took a great deal of courage.  I remember sitting on the sofa crying thinking to myself those must have really been some terrible experiences.  It was at that moment, I heard the Lord speak to me saying, “You have been sexually abused as well.”  I sat for a moment thinking to myself, “When and how could this have happened?”  That’s when He, the Lord, reminded me of the things that had happened to me.  As He began to share my experiences with me, I became compelled to tell someone; anyone who would listen.  I very strongly believed then as I do now, that victims of child sexual abuse could no longer be silent and continue to allow these heinous acts to be swept under the carpet.  Someone had to be bold enough to come forward!
From there, I started writing.  As God took me down memory lane, I just began to write down everything He said to me.  It was like taking dictation.  So, I guess the short answer for why did I write my book is because people need to know what happened to me because I know it has happened to countless others.  The number of people (victims) who remain silent and never tell their stories far outweighs those who have come forward.  Therefore, my quest in writing this book was/is:
§         To expose the enemy (I believe this lessens his power)§         To overcome the guilt & shame by being able to confront it head on§         To encourage and educate others on how to identify, confront & overcome sexual abuse§         To set the captives FREE

I’m telling my story ALL for God’s GloryI’m telling it NOW all to His Glory.I’m telling it NOW so that He can get the Glory!!

Our voices have to be heard, our children must be free or freed to tell the TRUTH: that someone touched them. Who can they run to? Will it be you?

From The Author I Didn't Know - Identifying, Confronting & Overcoming Child Sexual Abuse - the title is indicative of the subject matter.  In this book the author brings to the forefront the many faces of child sexual abuse; those of the victims and the abusers.  Yvette Allen-Tatum boldly confronts her past of child sexual abuse to demonstrate that TRUE deliverance is possible.  Yvette believes that we ALL (victims, abusers, enablers, nay-sayers, etc.) can OVERCOME the horrible effects of child sexual abuse. This book proves that true healing is possible and necessary for us to become more than CONQUERORS through Christ Jesus.  As a community, we have to:§         Identify Child Sexual Abuse – o       We have to talk about it (raise public awareness)o       Know the signs & symptoms§         Confront Child Sexual Abuse –o       Error on the side of caution – THE CHILDo       Be quick to BELIEVE the victim and make all necessary inquirieso       Studies show people are more apt to believe the innocence of the accused; this has to END§         Overcome Child Sexual Abuse –o       We overcome by the Blood of the Lamb and the WORD of OUR TESTIMONY

Father it is my sincere prayer that this book is used as a tool to help set the captives free and as a weapon to tear down the false walls of the enemy that have them bound. I thank you that this book will be a catalyst to compel the person reading this book to shout out loud,
“I will never be bound again!”

My 5 Star Review

I received this book from the touring host for an honest review.

Informative well laid out and to the point.
A very serious subject is touched in this book, and I love the title of the book. After reading the book, you will have no excuse. The Word of God says "Be vigilant for your adversary walks around like a lion to see whom he can devour."
What author Yvette Allen-Tatum does is profound, being the voice of the millions of children that can not speak for themselves due to threats made to them, and their families. Obedience is such an important thing in our children, it gives them the boundaries to walk in and is a security blanket, knowing they are safe and someone loves them. But yet it is also the one thing that will put our children in harms way. The author highlights it, the offender will use it to his advantage. Never saw it that way, after reading the book I can not say I did not know.
She is very direct in her approach, telling it as it is but yet the compassion and love of the subject is wonderfully illustrated throughout this book. Breaking down the lies that us as grown-ups and children believe.
This is a book that I can recommend to all readers with children, not only Christians. Yes, the author comes from a biblical perspective, but she does not preach, only laying down the facts under the guidance of the Bible. Instructional and informative.
An easy read, as she confronts and detailed the issues regarding this topic.  Coming with facts and not mere speculations. Easy to understand as she comes straight to the point, but always in love and understanding.

WHO IS SHE?
Fierce, yes that’s what she is in every possible meaning of the word. The Encarta Dictionary defines the term this way: fierce (adjective) 1. Aggressive characterized by showing aggression or anger 2. Violent or intense characterized by the violence or intensity of the forces, activity or participants involved 3. Profound deeply and intensely felt and often aggressively expressed. According to Online Slang Dictionary, fierce is “notably excellent or of superior quality.” Yes, she is aggressive, violent, intense and her message profound. She declares war against the forces of darkness; feeding the hungry, anointing the sick and delivering the captives. She is a woman of excellence and everything she does boasts of superior quality. From head to toe she is fierce.
