Excerpt:
She stood to put her pack back on, and he came to his feet and caught her by the shoulder, not wanting it to end like this, not wanting her to leave until they were good again. When she tried to push him away, he pressed her between his body and the stone of the cliff face. ‘You can’t just shut us all out, Stacie.’
‘I never wanted you involved in the first place. I never wanted any of you involved but you couldn’t leave it alone,’ she jerked back against him but there was no place to go. ‘You couldn’t just let it go.’
He moved in closer until his body pressed up against hers, holding her tightly against the stone. ‘No, I couldn’t, and I can’t and neither can anyone else who cares about you and neither would you if the situation were reversed. So whether you like it or not, I’m here to stay. We’ve already discussed this, so get used to it.’ He punctuated his point with a harsh kiss that couldn’t have been very pleasant for her, but then he was angry, worried, scared for her. Instead of shoving at him as he’d expected her to do, she curled a hard fist in his hair and ravaged his mouth with every bit as much ferocity as he had given her, pulling him still closer, rubbing her body against his, making him instantly and startlingly erect.
She snaked a hand down between them and savaged his fly until he feared for what lay beneath, until her fingers wriggled and dug their way into his walking trousers to possess his cock with a tight grip as though it were a weapon, one she were about to use to do serious damage.
He fumbled to return the favour, with her ripping at her own fly to make room for him, to guide his fingers down over her mons. Her eyes locked his in a devastating gaze that felt as though she could see right through him. ‘I need you to touch me there.’ Her voice was a breathless whisper. ‘Where I’m wet, where I’m open, where I’m always, always hungry for you.’ Her breath caught; her eyelids fluttered and she sucked her bottom lip as he found her cleft, wet and open as she’d promised. ‘You can’t tell me you don’t want to be like those cats.’ She guided his hand still further and manipulated it until first two, then three fingers pressed up into her. ‘You can’t tell me that when I present myself to you all hot and ready and begging for it, you don’t want to service my need. You can’t tell me you don’t want to get a little primal with that cock of yours.’ She gave him a hard squeeze and drove her hand up and down his length, thumbing the already abundant pre-cum over and around the tip until he gritted his teeth and held his breath while his hips bucked hard against her efforts.
He scissored her deep with three fingers and raked the silky slickness of her up and over her clitoris, and the sounds from the back of her throat easily resembled the sounds the female cougar made when the male mounted her. They wildly, madly fucked each other’s hands. The wind had risen and even on the clear morning, the chill left no doubt about lingering for more than the quickest of releases. Then she shifted, pressed her back hard against the stone and rested both of her hands on his shoulders. Before he could protest the removal of her fingers from his cock, she wrapped her legs around his waist, her still clothed crotch rubbing tight and insanely hot against his exposed cock as she began to rock and gyrate, and it was all happening way too fast.
‘Stacie I --’
‘Shut up, Harris,’ she spoke between chattering teeth. ‘I need to come, and so do you. You can fuck me properly when we get back to the SUV. It’s too damn cold to linger.’ With each sentence she ground against him, baring down with the extra leverage the cliff at her back afforded and, almost before the words were out of her mouth, she convulsed. Her spine stiffened and her shivers had nothing to do with the cold. Harris could stand no more. He felt the eruption deep in his groin. It might have been embarrassing had the circumstances been different, but as he tried to cover himself, tried to hide the results of Stacie’s hard ride, she shoved his hand away, pushed him back and practically fell into the space between them positioning herself so that she caught his release, all of it in her mouth. What could he say to that? What could he do but hold her there, helplessly grunting the weight of his need into the back of her throat. It was an act as intimate and as primal as the cougars mating on the rocks minutes ago. And sex, any kind of sex, with Stacie Emerson was worlds apart from any other sexual experiences he’d ever had. As she stood and wiped her mouth on the back of her hand, the look of hunger in her eyes, the promise of more sex to come in the SUV before the trip home couldn’t help but lighten the mood. As they straightened and tucked and donned their packs, he wondered if that was maybe why she did it. Whatever her reason, it definitely worked for him in ways he was still trying to get his head around.

My 5 Star Review
I received this book from the Touring Host for and honest review.
I had the privileged to read all three books in the Trilogy Series for the author. The Exhibition is the last book in the Series, and as with the two previous books, The Executive Decision and Identity Crisis, I was not disappointed. It took me some time getting back in the story since it had been a while since I read them, but once I got the hang of it, it was an enjoyable read. The passion was explosive, the plot well executed and the story line flowed. With all the strong characters we met previously, back, you can be sure to be glued to the pages of this follow up.This time the emphasis was on Stacie Emerson, ex-wife of Garret and ex-girlfriend of Ellis Thorne. The three friends, Harry, Dee and Kendra, are back with their old archenemy Terence Jamison. And what a sicko this guy had been. There was just nothing that he didn’t do that got me riled up. And as with people like this, he thought he was above the law. That rules did not apply to him accept the ones he made to benefit him. Possessive, manipulative, heartless, womanizer, abuser of women and earth, rapist, murderer…and the list goes on. He stooped to the very rotten core of humanity to have his way.But Stacie had a plan; a well executed plan to bring this arrogant man down. And I loved every moment of it.Set against the backdrop of the waste land of her beloved fields and with nature in its entire splendor, you get sucked into their world. With a clear message, every man is liable for his actions if it were against other human beings or against nature. We are all accountable to look after the very planet we live on, and not disregard nature for greed and power.Harris Walker, nature photographer and Editor of the Wilderness Vanguard, resented Stacie from the start. He struggled to accept this lady but once his mind changed there was no stopping him. At first it was unadulterated lust that has driven him closer to her but once he got to know her it became more than just a quick romp in the bushes. The tale of Zoe and Ingrid will tuck the heartstrings as you learn more about them and how they too had fallen in the hands of the evil TJ. The man stopped at nothing to humiliate the women and brought them to their knees. His abusive, lust driven character, was demeaning to them as women and as artists.A beautiful conclusion to the trilogy, The Exhibition is suspense filled erotica at its best. And a book I can recommend to all readers that love this genre.

Joyfully Yours By Amy Lamont Blog Tour. Interview with the author and a Fabulous Giveaway.

Synopsis:
A musician and a priest walk into a grocery store—singer Faith Leary thinks this is a better opening for an off-color joke than a recipe for romance, until she finds herself ogling Father Michael in the checkout line the day before Thanksgiving.
When Father Michael first steps in to bail Faith out of her financial jam, Faith thinks she’s being picked up at the grocery store. Right up until she catches sight of the black shirt and tab collar. Since not much in her life is going her way lately, it doesn’t come as much of a shock when Michael turns up at her mother’s Thanksgiving dinner. What does come as a surprise is the attraction that springs up between them. If only he weren’t a priest, he would be perfect for her.
Faith’s sister finds Father Michael attractive, too, and she’s making no bones about it. Scenes from the Thorn Birds flitting through her head, it comes as a relief to Faith to find out Michael is not exactly what he seems. It’s good news until she realizes her sister is a far better match for him than her screw-up self could ever be. But if that’s true, why does Michael insist on seeing only the good in Faith, no matter how often she falls short of her too perfect sister?

Interview:
I’m so grateful to the Aspired Writer blog for having me here to chat about my new holiday novella, Joyfully Yours!
1. Where did the idea come from for the book?

I always love holiday stories, so I’d been kicking a few different ideas around for a while. One day, Faith, my heroine, showed up in my head and wouldn’t leave me alone. It took a little longer for me to figure out who to pair her up with. But finally I asked myself, who is the last person on earth I can imagine Faith ending up with? And that’s the day Michael took up residence in my imagination.

2. What genre does your book fall under?
Joyfully Yours is a sweet contemporary romance with a holiday theme.
3. Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?

I see Anna Kendrick as Faith. For Michael, I see Channing Tatum. But that just may be because I often have visions of Channing Tatum floating through my mind. J

4. What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
When a quirky musician runs smack-dab into Mr. Perfect in the grocery store checkout line, she’s not surprised to find out he’s off limits; but when he shows up at her mother’s Thanksgiving dinner, single and obviously interested in her, she must learn she doesn’t have to be Miss Perfect to be the perfect one for him.
5. Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
This book is self-published.
6. How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
It took me about a month7. What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
I’ve always loved the anthologies of contemporary romance holiday stories, and Joyfully Yours definitely fits this mold.
8. Who or What inspired you to write this book?
Really, this book was inspired by the holiday season. I think there’s something magical about all romances and there’s definitely something magical about Christmas. I think from the moment I knew I wanted to write romance novels, I knew Christmas would play a big part in more than one of my books.

9. What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
My hero, Michael, is an interesting guy. I think at first the reader might be tempted to make the same mistake Faith did, and think there’s no way he could be the one for her. But it doesn’t take long to see why she shouldn’t be with anyone else.

Guest Post:
Letting Go of Perfection
Faith Leary, my heroine in Joyfully Yours, has always felt like she pales in comparison to her too perfect sister. When she meets the hero, Michael, she sees him as perfect, too. He’s kind, generous, has great taste in music, and it doesn’t hurt that he’s not too hard on the eyes.
When she first meets him, she’s under the impression that he’s a Catholic priest. It doesn’t matter so much that he’s perfect because he’s way off limits. But she soon finds out she misunderstood, and Michael is indeed single and available to date.
As happy as she is to hear this news, Faith can’t help but think as perfect as Michael is, he could never be interested in her, the family screw-up. She goes so far as to think her sister would be a much better match for him.
Faith has to learn that nobody is perfect, not even her seemingly unflawed sister. And Michael doesn’t care about all the quirks Faith’s family complains about. She might not be perfect in their eyes, but she’s definitely the perfect one for him. Once Faith finally lets go of the idea of perfection, she’s ready for her happily ever after.
I can’t think of a better time to dive into the theme of letting go of perfection than when we’re headed into the holiday season. It seems like too often we’re running around like chickens with our heads cut off seeking the perfect holiday. We want to find the perfect gifts and wrap them perfectly. We need to plan the perfect meals and perfect holiday gatherings. We can get so caught up in making things perfect that we totally miss the best parts of the holidays.
I think the lesson Faith learns is one we can all take to heart this holiday season. Just think, if letting go of perfection helped Faith find her happily ever after, just imagine what it can do for you!

Blurb: She’ll go from the streets to the penthouse. The price? Submission. From the moment she laid eyes upon him, Marley knew in her heart that James was not just another client, and the difference wasn’t even the large sum of money he offered in return for a single night of submission. No, what set him apart was the fact that when she called James “daddy”, it was her own heart which beat faster and her own body which ached with need.

After that night, Marley does her best to put all thought of him behind her, using the huge payday he provided to get on her feet again and start over… until James knocks on her door and walks right back
into her life. He makes her a simple offer: if she will live with him and submit to him whenever he wishes, he will provide for her every desire.

Even before she accepts his offer, though, Marley knows that what she truly wants is not money or clothing or even a fancy new car. What she longs for is a daddy who will give his little girl what she really needs… a daddy who will spank her bare bottom when she is naughty, tie her up and take her any way he pleases, and then cuddle her until she falls asleep in his arms. Can she dare to hope that James will be that daddy?

Excerpt #3:
James paced the floor. Back and forth. His shoes threatened to wear a path into the rug.Where was she? She knew she was supposed to check in, but she hadn’t.She said she was going to a movie. Had texted him about that. But the showing should have been over hours ago. Where could she be?And why didn’t she answer her phone? Or respond to his texts? His stomach tightened. Her car was in the garage. She must have ridden with someone else. Supposedly she was with Charmaine, but he didn’t know that number…His gut lurched. What if she wasn’t with Charmaine? What if she were with another guy? Or worse, injured in an accident…Grab a hold of yourself. People are late all the time for good reasons. Traffic. Things happen. It could be anything.Forcing himself to sit down, he reached for the remote control. Maybe watching television would distract him. He took a deep breath and tried to concentrate on SportsCenter. How did he keep finding himself in this predicament? He frowned. Usually women waited for him. His time was valuable. Too valuable to be stuck waiting around for a girl too self-involved or headstrong to obey his rules. His anger swelled. The jangle of the phone startled him. It was a text from Marley.“Sorry, Daddy. Went to dinner with Charmaine and Kimberly and forgot to tell you. Please forgive me. On my way home now.”A wave of relief washed over him. Thank God. She was okay. Now that he knew she was okay, his thoughts turned to consequences. He’d never really had to punish Marley. He’d spanked her a few times, but nothing significant. She was a well-behaved sub most of the time, but this kind of mistake could not be repeated. It was important that she understand the rules; that he was in charge. She must obey them. Or there would be repercussions.Rules with no consequences were ineffective. He’d have to come up with something that would serve as a deterrent. He tapped a finger on the side table and considered the possibilities. When he heard her enter the apartment, he was prepared.“Daddy, I’m so sorry.” She tossed her purse to the side and rushed to him, showering him with kisses. “I totally forgot to call you. I’m so sorry,” she repeated, her face forlorn. He hugged her to him. “I’m glad you’re okay. I was worried. Are you aware of that?” His voice was firm, almost harsh.Fidgeting, she replied, “I guess, but I didn’t mean to upset you.”“It doesn’t matter if you didn’t intend to do it; the point is you broke the rule. Rules are in place for a reason, Marley. This rule is for your safety and my peace of mind. I’m disappointed that you selfishly disregarded it. In this case you caused me unnecessary worry. And for that you shall be punished.”“But Daddy…” she protested.“But Daddy what?”She lowered her head. “It’s just—I didn’t mean to, and I’m sorry. Isn’t that enough?”“No. It is not enough. Now go into your bedroom and strip naked. When I come in there I want you naked and kneeling on the floor with your hands behind your back.” “But Daddy!” Her voice shook with fear.
My 4 Star Review
I received the book from the touring host for an honest review.

A story that started with a BDSM fantasy with a rich man, soon turned into more the main characters bargained for. Well written and fast paced you are drawn into the life of Marley, a young women who lived in a shelter and would do anything for her next meal and bed. She understood what it was to have nothing, expect nothing and want nothing from anyone. Her only way of survival was to sell herself. Life is not always easy and can put you in a place where you have no choice but to crawl on your knees and be that person men craved.
Maybe it was in-human, maybe it was weird, and for many 'normal' people it would be but for her it was a way of life.
When life turns its back on us, none of us knows what choices we will make in the same situation.
Marley's character was believable and touched me. Her struggles in the every day world not common to most. The fact that she had to submit to a man and calls him Daddy just to get out of the slump she was in, is debatable but the world does not ask the how or the why. It has a way to put you in a vice and make the choice for you.
When James LeBlanc met Marley, he thought it would only be a one night stand as always. But the petite woman gave him more that he fantasized about. She gave him a reason to live again. Even if he were this very wealthy man he still needs someone to show him how to appreciate life and the small things so easily neglected high up in a penthouse. His character was caring and lovable. His fantasy was to please a woman in such a way that she would stay, submit to him and live according to the rules he laid down. In turn he would give her the world with everything in it.
As a dom he was used to women doing his will, but he also learned that most was only interested in his money, and not him. That is where Marley came in. Her exuberance for life caught him by surprise, something he had lost over the years.
Together they discovered more about each other as they allowed each other the freedom to experience the ultimate satisfaction. Trusting each other, being honest and obedient to each other, they found a world that was for both very new.
The sex scenes were intense but yet filled with compassion and in no stage during these scenes did you feel that this was not with consent. They were both mature adults with the ability to walk away at any time. Nothing stopped them but yet they fulfilled each other in a deeper way.
A book I can recommend for those who loves a kink or two in the bedroom, but with a heartwarming story and a touch of romance.

Interview with Author
1.       Where did the idea come from for the book?                I was asked to write an erotic trilogy by Harper Collins about 18 months ago, just when I was making the decision to stop writing erotica after 20 years because it wasn't paying enough! 50 Shades had opened up the erotica world to the mainstream reader and they wanted another author to expand the genre. I started with the characters: Serena, who is like a feistier, more talented, more beautiful and more damaged  version of myself at that age. Then Gustav stepped forward as her opposite number, and my ideal man,  starting with his looks and filling in his character and background as he took on three dimensions.  He began      as a vampire hence his dark, mysterious, wolfish air which I had to explain with an abusive marriage and the loss of the one person he held dear in the world – his brother. That part of his story was gleaned from a couple I know personally, where the wife really was as horrific as Margot Levi. The journey through mistrust through to attraction, passion and love had to be worked out according to their lights, ie how it would read realistically while retaining the fantasy and romance, and the most dramatic way seemed to be to throw grenades (in the shape of unwelcome faces from the past) into their paths, just as things looked as if they were going smoothly. Throw in exotic locations, interesting occupations, lovely clothes, delicious food and of course incredible sex, and these two very different people were able to meet, ignite, overcome threats and sabotage, and (hopefully) live happily ever after.
2.       What genre does your book fall under?                                What attracted me to the suggestion that I come back into erotica was the narrowing of the                       definition to Erotic Romance. I was become less and less comfortable anyway with the hard       core stuff I'd been asked to write, and was only too happy when the publishers outlined their limits to the use of language and content, ie there was to be more focus on the romance and relationships, and less on  a series of sex scenes linked by a flimsy story line. I've always been a romantic at heart, so to focus on that, and have sex as the cherry on the cake, suited me perfectly.
3.       Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?

We can but dream! My ultimate fantasy would be sitting in a cinema with a vast box of Maltesers watching those opening credits!  My instinct if a film were made would be to swerve the Hollywood hype, be groundbreaking and original,  and go for gorgeous unknowns. But to give an idea, I've always had Olivier Martinez, the French actor, in my mind  for Gustav, Josh Holloway from 'Lost', or Dominic Zamprogna (from 'General Hospital').  They must have silky dark hair, haunted, Slavic cheek bones, black eyes, and the constant hint of unshavenness. Amanda Seyfried would make a great a red-haired Serena. Pierre would have to be a thicker set, younger version of Gustav, the Puerto Recan actor Sharlim Ortiz  perhaps if he put on a little muscle.  Polly could be the Swedish actress MyAnna Burring who was in  'Twilight' and also 'Downton Abbey'. Salma Hayek, Diane Lane, Rachel Weicz or Demi Moore        could be Margot, the evil but charismatic ex-wife. Tilda Swinton could be Crystal, the  enigmatic housekeeper, but she might steal the show!

4.       What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?                Gustav Levi and Serena Folkes seal their relationship by moving to New York  to pursue his           business interests and further her photographic career, but a longed for, yet feared, face from the past reappears and threatens to destroy the love they have worked so hard to  achieve.
5.       Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
Neither. Harper Collins are publishing it, and I don't have an agent because the terms of this       contract are non-negotiable, and unless some amazing offers such as film come up, I don't want to share 15 % of my earnings  - such as they are - with someone else!
6.       How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
The Golden Locket, like all three of the books in this trilogy, took about two months to get           down on paper before being minutely examined and radically changed by my editor!
7.       What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
I would compare these to Sylvia Day's and Nikki Gemmell's erotic series.
8.       Who or What inspired you to write this book?
It was a simple request from my publishers that got this journey going, but once I'd agreed to    write this trilogy, various shadowy outlines of characters who were already in my mind started to come to life. It helped to have a particular love for the pre-Raphaelite paintings and their female models, who were all pale-faced red heads and upon whom my heroine Serena is physically based. My hero Gustav was inspired by a mixture of modern day vampire    stories and the old gothic hammer horrors. And without wanting to sound too trite, it was great writing a compelling love story having known love and happiness in my own real life,   but I also drew upon the slings and arrows of life that my husband and I both suffered in our previous relationships before we got together.
9.       What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?                                These books are set not only in London and New York but Paris, Venice and Morocco, too. Oh, and Devon, and while it is pretty intense stuff, there are moment of levity, too.
I have designed this trilogy to end at a logical moment, leaving my main characters in a great       place, but if my readers love the trilogy and don't want to let go of the characters completely, I have a few ideas for spin-off books involving some of the secondary characters who have a significant role to play and who definitely have taken on lives of their own.

My 5 Star Review
I received the book from Netgalley for an honest review.
This is the second book in the Unbreakable Trilogy Series, and I have to admit since I read The silver chain as well, that I loved this book more. The complexity of the characters came more to the forefront and I could connect with both Serena and Gustav on a personal level in this book. Previously they were distant as if it could never happen but in this book their characters came to maturity, gone was the awkwardness of a new relationship when they met in Book 1. They were more relaxed and open with each other, with no hidden agenda's as they went on an exploration journey with their lives and sexuality. Many of the question raced in book 1 was answered in this book, as you indulge yourself in the pages of this well written story. With believable scenes that captured the attention and kept me guessing on the outcome. The story unfolds flawlessly as they embark on a journey together, committed and very much in love. Gustav's past came in view as we met Pierre, his younger brother and learn more about the fight that led to the separation of them for five years. The road to discover one another again and the havoc Gustav's ex-wife had caused. Although she remains an illusive character, her presences could be felt throughout the story line. Even between Pierre, Polly and Serena her lies could be seen that brought on a whole new set of problems. The devastation that Margot left behind in both these men are mind boggling to say the least. She controlled both to the point of obsessive and abusive behavior and kept them apart due to lies and sick games. The added characters of Mr and Mrs. Weinmeyer, the Robinson family, the Club Creme, Tomas and Crystal gave the story an erotic feel as you indulge in their fantasies. The boundaries were consistently moved of what was aloud or permissible within the relationship. It left Serena vulnerable during her commissions and she found herself in awkward positions often to discover what she was comfortable with at the end.The Golden Locket's significance could be seen throughout the story as it unfolds, the silver chain always connecting them as a couple in the most erotic love scenes. Its conclusion was touching and very romantic. As we move from New York to Venice we learn more about her self-discovery and her love for the one man she could not live without. Real, believable characters that would captivate you till the very end...and of course we are left with another cliff hanger. Will we finally meet this illusive ex-wife of Gustav? We can only hope and see what the author has planned for Book 3.I would recommend that book 1 would be read first since Book 2 do continue where they left in The Silver Chain.

Salem, MA 1692
On a moonless night, he rides into the winter forest on his beast as black as midnight...
Dashing stranger, Henry Dunham, comes to Salem on a mysterious errand, but is thrown from his horse in the dead of night and rescued by the local Puritan midwife, Lydia Colson.
Haunted by her past, Lydia is running from her own dark secrets, avoiding intrusive questions by pretending her dead husband is simply... away. But when she and Henry are caught in a compromising situation, one punishable by Puritan law, he saves her from scandal by claiming to be her errant spouse... and claiming her bed.
Forced to fake a marriage, Lydia and Henry find their passion overwhelming and their vows a little too real. As their lies become truths, a witch hunt closes in on Lydia, threatening not only their burgeoning love, but her life.

Author Bio:Sarah and her husband of what he calls “many long, long years” live on the mid-Atlantic coast with their six young children, all of whom are perfectly adorable when they’re asleep. She never dreamed of becoming an author, but as a homeschooling mom, she often jokes she writes fiction because if she wants anyone to listen to her, she has to make them up. (As it turns out, her characters aren’t much better than the kids). Though she adores romantic suspense, she writes in many genres. Excerpt #1
Murder.
Lydia Colson’s nightmare lived and breathed on these moonless nights. When the world was at its darkest, remnants of her haunted past seemed to lurk in every shadow, denying her again and again the chance to start anew. No matter how justified the actions of her past, the peace she had hoped to find in Salem Village escaped her. It was her burden to bear.
The cruelly twisted body in her path was not.
Though stationary, the sight had crept upon her with silent ease, an aberration on a cold, lonely stretch of road with nothing but the woods to keep company. Lydia purposefully avoided night travels here, but babies did not keep time, and Goody Louder’s child had chosen to make entry in the witching hour. As a physician and midwife, it was Lydia’s purpose to see to the birth, and what a child he was. Healthy and rowdy, the stout babe named John had a roar not to be ignored. The first instance of life never failed to bring joy, to make Lydia forget. But now an unsavory reminder of her past misdeed rested in the dirt, nearly buried in forest litter.
And he was not alone. A stallion, the same pitch as the night, danced and pawed the earth. Its capsized rider jerked, his long frame shuddering when the hooves clipped his torso. Might he be alive?
“Easy,” Lydia said, fighting for her own control as she edged closer. She placed her hand on the animal’s rump, her fingers tingling alongside the quivering flesh. The contact revealed tightly bunched muscles alongside a tension made visible in the rolling whites of the beast’s eyes. “Easy, boy.”
At the more intimate distance, she could see the man’s leg caught in the stirrup and bent unnaturally to his position on the ground. He’d fallen from his mount. Had he been dragged? What bit of the path visible in the night showed little sign of disturbance, though the wind might easily have stirred the leaves to hide remnants of a struggle.
A smell of sweat mingled with a distant trace of smoke, hinting danger. The horse snorted and hopped, the strain on the stirrup eliciting a groan from the prone man. Would he lash out from his pain?
Lydia bundled her nerves against the perceived threat and scoffed at her insecurities. This stranger was in no position to cause her harm, but should he try, the mistake would be his.
She had killed before, and she would gather within herself to do it again.

My 5 Star Review

I received the book from the author for an honest review.

They say ignorance is bliss, but in this case ignorance showed the foolishness of men and women as you read about this time period, where everything was called sin when it did not coincide with what the Puritans believed. A time of turmoil, witch hunts and manic lies, all to show yourself superior.
The author did a wonderful work in recreating that time and the life they led. She showed how people's perceptive was distorted and used for their own cunning devices. It seemed nothing would stop someone to make false accusations and got away with it, all in the name of witchcraft. Admitting the worst sin imaginable.

Lydia Colson found herself in that position, accused of witchcraft. But before I give the story away let me just say this, I was greatly impressed with her character.
Doing what was necessary to survive she committed a sin. The reason the book is called Her Wicked sin, a fitting name for this well written and authentic historical book. A sin that would led her to Salem where she worked as a midwife and physician. Due to this, she opened herself for unwarranted attention from neighbors, especially Rebecca.
A canning gossiper if I have ever seen one. Cruel, unforgiving always seeking the worst in everyone else. I really do not like her, but for her role she was perfect.

In rode Henry on a black steed, called Willard, and from the very moment these two were alone their troubles started. It created more trouble but yet...always a but **smile**. Two people could not be more suitable than these two. Even if they had to lie to protect this newly discovered love.
Passion and love flared from the first flickering of light between them. Spontaneous, instant and romantic. This is after all a romance novel.
Your heartstrings will be pulled, and filled with compassion and love in the story as you read more about them and the trails they faced.
Henry's character was sincere, strong and he had a mind that brooked no resistance from his very wealthy parents. I was impressed with his charming wit and love for this woman, clearly not from the same stock as him.
Now I sound like them **giggles**.

The stranger that always lurked in the background would leave you speechless at the final outcome. And you wish the story would continue.
A wonderful fast paced read I can recommend, that will leave you with no doubt that you want to read more from the author's pen. You will not be disappointed with Sarah Balance newest book.

Excerpt 1:
As of about four and a half minutes ago, I officially quit college. I’ve decided that after attending not one but two separate colleges during my nine…okay ten years of switching majors and still not knowing what I want to be when I grow up, that I was never meant to be a serious intellectual. I was not designed to run a corporate enterprise or wow the art world with genius sculpture and paintings. I was studying to become a teacher until I realized I don’t like children. I would have made an excellent veterinarian, except I’m allergic to cats. Or, more accurately they are allergic to me. I wanted to be an engineer, but it turns out I’m also allergic to math, which also eliminated engineering and accounting. I even tried psychology, caseworker, and business major. So after trying everything that ever caught my attention, I switched to a technical college, where I discovered I had no talent for mechanics, carpentry, plumbing, heating, or cooking anything in an oven. And I literally flunked out as a dental assistant when I vomited on a patient while I was cleaning his teeth during final exams. So because of this, or rather despite all of this, I’m going into the family business. My decision for this very sudden and life-altering change might have been prompted by the three-page, single-spaced letter I am now holding. It’s written in legal speak and since I did a very brief stint in law – after watching a marathon of Law and Order while recovering from a vicious and unprompted cat attack – I will summarize; “Your grandmother is dead, and she’s left you the house and its current occupants.”This is the letter telling me that my Granny Nan has passed away. It was unexpected, and I’m not saying unexpected as in she was always so healthy and she never said she was sick. No, I’m saying unexpected because she was a vampire. Granny Nan was the first in our family, full born. She came with all the perks of the undead. She could turn into a bat and she never aged. She drank the blood of the living, but she never took more than necessary. She could hypnotize people with a wink of her long black lashes, and any whispered suggestions she made became the victim’s lifelong mission to fulfill. She stayed inside on sunny days and avoided anything resembling a wooden stake. On top of all of this, she was very fast and very smart and very full of life. She raised me from six months old, as my mother had met her untimely demise in an unfortunate car accident involving a truck transporting picket fence posts. As far as anyone knew in the small town where I grew up, Granny Nan wasn’t my very young-looking, nearly two hundred year-old grandmother. She was just my mom.I’m a second-generation vampire. Vampires aren’t made, or even bred. As far as we can tell, they just happen once in a while, and the only way they can have children is if they choose to do so with a human. Long story short, that makes me a quarter vampire. Meaning I don’t get to live forever, I can’t turn into any cool animals, and I will never be able to hypnotize people with a look or a whisper. The only thing I got from that side of the family is that I have to wear sunscreen year round and I’m mildly anemic. I don’t drink blood, but I like my steak extra rare. I have a pretty good metabolism, but unlike Granny Nan I do have to burn a few calories on the treadmill a few times a week if I want to eat cupcakes.Having been raised in a retirement home, I am probably more aware of my own mortality than most. What I learned from my somewhat different childhood experience was that I didn’t want to die without living a full and happy life. The only problem was I seemed to be having trouble getting that life of excitement started. I was so scared to make the wrong move that I ended up not moving at all. So at twenty-seven – okay twenty-eight, I was now the newest caretaker of Maple Lane Manor, Home for Retired Supernaturals.

Jagged Edges Virtual Book Tour with Doris H. Dancy 5 Star Review and Guest Post.

November 18- November 29, 2013

Paperback: 364 pagesPublisher: St. Paul Press (July 15, 2013)ISBN-10: 0989088596ISBN-13: 978-0989088596Genre: Christian Romance

About The Book Derek Wellington had his life set.  He was born into wealth, graduated with honors from Harvard Law, and, since high school, knew he would marry the beautiful Morgan LaRue.  …but somewhere along the way, everything he thought he knew about himself, about Morgan, and even about life itself will boggle his mind, and catapult him into a world of betrayal, deception, and confusion. Somewhere in this darkness, he must search for The Light to find his way out of a maze that, if he fails, will destroy his heart and soul forever.
Praise for Jagged Edges “Jagged Edges is definitely an easy reader and page turner.”“From the prologue to the last chapter, Doris grabbed my heart, mind, and soul with her masterful storytelling”

Why I Wrote Jagged Edges
I will be honest and say that it took me quite a while to realize why I was writing Jagged Edges, a Christian romance.  I was just enjoying the ride.  However, as I do all things, I sought God for His guidance, and, soon it became quite clear that there are many reasons for writing this novel for the society in which we live today.  Below, I detail a few.
There are numerous young men and women who are confused about love for a lot of different reasons.  They confuse infatuation with real love, and, in the excitement of it all, begin to give too much far too soon.  Many times intimate relationships begin before these young couples have an opportunity to see who they really are and what they actually want for their own lives.  Once intimacy is involved, young ladies often become emotionally attached when that may or may not be the young man’s position at all.  These relationships are often short-lived and hurtful.  The impact of this kind of disappointment sometimes is revealed in unwanted pregnancies, low self-esteem, and a constant attempt to find true love in all the wrong places.
In chapter seven of Jagged Edges, young women are given a lesson in how to say no to intimacy, and young men hopefully realize that they don’t have to ask in order to be masculine, and that, many times, it would be a great idea if they avoided the question.  One of my main characters, Arianna, who has only recently met Derek, the protagonist, is not lured by his good looks, his wealth, or his education.  She is unwilling to allow him to push her into a deeper relationship that she is not yet ready for, even if it means an end to their new friendship.  Arianna is firm and clear that she is “nobody’s rebound or one night stand or convenience or friend with benefits.”  She knows who she isShe says,  “I want to be your friend before I’m your lover…I don’t want to get caught up in my own imaginations, and I definitely don’t want to be caught up in your fantasies.”  She tells him that she wants him to know her, and she wants to know him before there is intimacy.  Derek also realizes that, despite the fact that he is asking, he should not at this point because he is in a relationship with someone else even though, at the time, he is not sure where that relationship might be headed.  He is in a confused position and knows that he should not complicate things by bringing someone else into his life.  In both cases these two people can see that rushing into intimacy is a bad idea.
Too many people ignore these kinds of red flags, and in writing this novel, it is my wish to make the warning signs crystal clear and bring them to the forefront of our awareness.  Hopefully, this can help, if even just a little, in stopping the pain of so many bad and misguided relationships that end with children who live in turmoil.
Additionally, I wrote Jagged Edges to give those of us who love romance an opportunity to read it without numerous expletives and lurid explicit sex scenes.  I believe that there is an audience for the type of novel where you have to use your imagination, where men know how to treat women with respect, and where those who are in a search for God realize that they can find Him in all the right places.  He is available to help us find the right mate who is willing to help us build a relationship and grow in love with respect and dignity.

~A Prologue~~The breaking of dawn is the best keeper of secrets I know; it has a pact with the close of day. At sun’s first peek, the confidence is safe, and one has no evidence at all how altered life might be by eventide~
The library at the university is quiet except for multiple pages turning and a stupid unnecessary clock facing me. I might just waste a star wish to get that annoying thing smashed. I’d do it myself, but I’d get caught, and be a greater disappointment to my parents than Ruff who still can’t sit up, roll over, or even bark like a real dog. I sigh. Deal with the clock, Arianna. You’re twenty-four years old, already have your MBA in Fashion Management and Entrepreneurship and almost ready to start your own Fashion House for goodness sakes. All you have to do is complete this little research, and you’re on your own. You’re not five. Anyway, you have far more important things to think about at 8:15 on this lonely Friday night, like how to meet that gorgeous guy sitting at the table across from you.
I sit back in my chair and just stare at him, counting how many times he glances up and quickly looks back at his work. He is doing a very poor job of pretending he hasn’t noticed that I’m staring at him. He’s on his eighth under eyed glance at me when he puts his laptop down, folds his hands, sits back, looks straight at me with a smirk, and holds the stare. I smile what I think is my very best smile. Let the games begin! After a minute and a half of staring, I’m just getting comfortable, and there is no way I’m giving up. He begins packing up his things slowly. Still staring, never glancing down to see what he’s doing, he meticulously places his laptop in his black leather attaché case. I can tell he is purposefully taking his time, and for some strange reason, his deliberate movements, to me, are extremely sensual.               I almost have to break my stare when I think to myself: any man that sexy ought to be locked up and the key thrown away. He leaves his case on the table, returns two books to a nearby shelf all the while looking into my staring eyes, and then he brings his fine self over to me.
He pulls out the chair that faces me without saying a word, turns it backwards, and tries to stifle his grin from becoming a full face all teeth showing spectacle. Of course, he’s far too cool for that.“OK, you’ve been staring at me for the last ten minutes so I thought I would just come over and ask if I have spinach in my teeth or a booger up my nose.” I laugh. He smiles.“What if I say both?” I grin, cupping my hand under my chin and looking directly into his brown bedroom eyes.“Well, I’ll know that’s not true,” he taunts matter-of-factly.“And how would you know that?” I question cynically. This man is about to make my heart jump out of my body.“Simple.” “Simple?” “Yeah, simple. It’s a trick question.” He rocks back in the chair. “I didn’t havespinach today.” We both laugh as quietly as we can since we are somewhat aware that we are in a library, and there are a few people still pretending to study on a Friday night.“Well, to be quite honest with you, umm...Peter? Ah...Paul?” I lift one eyebrow and continue. “...Mary?” He gives me a closed mouth smile, and plays around his mouth with his thumb and index finger.“Well, definitely not Mary. Derek. Derek Wellington.” For the first time in my life I hear the sexiness in that baritone voice of his that will drive me insane for years to come.“Well, to be quite honest with you...Derek, Derek Wellington, your hair caught my attention.“My hair?” I bite my bottom lip to cover my grin, and nod my head yes. “Yes, your hair...anddefinitely your eyes too,” I say with mocked seriousness... “and then there’s that mouth,” I giggle.“Oh, is that good or bad?” he chuckles. “Oh, that’s real good,” I admit with a flirtatious grin. “Good. Good,” he nods in mock approval. “So, you... this beautiful woman sitting here toying with me, you are... Gracie?”“No, not even close,” I laugh.I opt here for a more serious tone. My hazel eyes, my windows to the soul, touch his. “My name is Arianna...Arianna Channing.”“Ah, a beautiful name for a lovely lady.” “Well thank you kind sir.” I bat my eyes playfully. “You are quite welcome, my lady.” And then he does something totally unexpected. He reaches across the table, takes my hand in his, and slowly brings it to his beautiful lips. That is how it all started with Attorney Derek Chase Wellington, III and me.I would say that we had a whirlwind summer romance. We were inseparable. Both of us were taking a break of sorts before starting full force into our careers. Derek had studied for the Bar, passed it, and in September would join a private law firm in Virginia. I had completed my studies in Fashion Management and Entrepreneurship in New York City, and studied an additional two years in Paris. Coincidentally, I was also moving to Virginia, after the summer, to start my own Channing Fashion House, the first one in the Tidewater area. Our connection, from its inception, has that magic touch...that something special; however, there is this one thing that tears our bond, interferes with our solidarity, and will forever puzzle me. Throughout this disappointment, I am honest with myself. Common sense and life’s experiences have taught me that it will be impossible to know the essence of the truth surrounding a very deep, but damaged, relationship in Derek’s past, but that is not my issue. From the inception of our brief courtship and after we marry, Derek and I are always completely honest with each other...we trust each other explicitly, or so I am led to believe. That is what makes my discovery so perplexing... so hurtful and a huge issue for me.            The mystifying thing, now that the real truth irradiates, is that my friend, my boyfriend, my fiancée, my lover, my husband never mentions Morgan Shay LaRue to me. Not once, that I can remember, does he ever even call her name.

My 5 Star Review
I received the book from the touring host for an honest review. Well, what can I say, the title of the book had me curious to read what the author had install with this title, so as I open and start reading things became clear why this specific title.
We met 2 people on a Friday night in a University Library. One is Derek and soon we get to know the Lady’s name as Arianna. They both had different reasons why they are there and soon their eyes met and a friendship begins, but before we continue down this road we first need to understand how they got there, and then we can continue with this new found friendship.
Derek was a recently Graduated Lawyer that pass the Bar exams having a relationship with Morgan a dancer and high school sweethearts. They were very much in love, so everyone thought that they would get married but things happened. When he wanted to visit she had excuses, always busy.
The story received a twist and faith brought two people together on a Friday night, so from here the story unfolds with a lot of things happening and the two people who met must start on a slow road to recovery and build trust after what both had experience in previous relationships. A heartfelt story of forgiveness and trust.
I would recommend this inspiring relationship and healing story for those that feel that they were hurt by someone and can’t forgive. A story with a clear message which will make you think and ponder at the end.
Well done DorisI really enjoyed this touching story of truth and reconciliation.

My 5 Star review
I received the book from the touring host for an honest review.
I was sold with the marriage proposal. I will not lie. It was incredibly thoughtful and touched the heartstrings. Before that, I contemplated a 4 Star review. And another cliffhanger, seriously? The suspense is killing me.The story had a very well planned suspense building plot that kept you engaged as you leave the pages. At times, I thought that Damien's character was simply way to over-protective. It bordered on obsessiveness with Allison. But as his past unfolds and you got a glimpse in his growing-up years you knew it was warranted. At twenty-eight, it seems he had the world at his feet. As sole heir, he had more money to spend than the average person, mounting responsibilities and being the owner of a football team this was no ordinary rich kid filled with drama and having his own way.Nope, he was focused, determined and knew what he wanted from the moment he met Allison. Volatile in his reactions he planned her life from the moment they met on the beach. He left nothing for change as he whisk her from her feet. And very romantic, he had done all the right things to grab her attention and made her his. His love the very reason that kept her safe and glued to his side.Allison's character was at times deliberate as she evoked him to sudden decisions, not understanding his ways or reasons. Trying to find her feet after her parents sudden death, she craved independence. At times, I thought she took it to far, and it created more problems that were unnecessary.  Which resulted in unpleasant and even heart-racing results for them both. The passion grew between the two were and scorched the sheets. They simply could not keep their hands from each other.  The night he took her for the first time was memorable, and from there the romance build at a steady pace, and never lost its intensity. With interesting and supporting characters throughout the well written story it kept the story interesting and fast-paced. Drawn into a world of lies greed and downright nastiness. Overall it was a wonderful read that I can recommend. I great series, and I, for one will be on the look-out for Book 2.
