Banning People
Q: President Trump's executive order has banned people from 7 countries--134,000,000 people!--from entering the country. Is that good or bad for America?
-Sue, Pennsylvania
DoA: Wanting to keep people safe and vet people is good. Two things bother me. 1) None of the terrorists from 9/11 were from these countries. And 2) Most of us have seen National Lampoon's Vacation and realize there's a lot of Clark Griswold's out there.
What do you think about the ban (or how do you think America should keep its citizen's safe)?

Marches
Q: Last week they marched for women. Now they're marching for life. What are some other good things people can march for?
-Dan, Beaumont
DoA: I'd like a March for Jesus, a March for Parents, and a March for Puppies. I don't want them to demand anything from the government. I just want to see their signs.
What's something you'd like to see marched for?

Apocalypse
Q: The Doomsday Clock moved closer to midnight, and I read that billionaires are buying "apocalypse insurance." Should we ALL be worried?
-Donna, Atlanta
DoA: Worry why? One of my favorite quotes is Leo Busgalia's “Worry never robs tomorrow of its sorrow, it only saps today of its joy.” Every day is the end for somebody. Crack open a Bible. There's some apocalypse insurance.
What would you do if the apocalypse were coming in a week?

Investigation
Q: Trump wants to investigate to see how Hillary got so many votes. If you were president, what's something you'd like to investigate?
-Jade, Seattle
DoA: I would immediately investigate how Avengers: Age of Ultron is the seventh highest grossing movie of all time. A billion and a half dollars?!!...And then I'd investigate how 56 people (including Conan O'Brien) have more Twitter followers than Donald Trump.
If you were president, what would you investigate?

War With The Media
Q: Trump said he is at war with the media while presenting "alternative facts" that I heard were easily found untrue. Who should we trust?
-Reece, Milwaukee
DoA: Trust the government or the media? Yikes! I usually read UsaToday, CNN, FoxNews, The Federalist, and Reason every morning and then try to do the best I can. It all reminds me of that classic Mark Twain quote, though: “If you don't read the newspaper, you're uninformed. If you read the newspaper, you're misinformed.”
What news sources do you read?

Best Bible Verses For Right Now
Q: Can't help feeling our country is more divided than EVER. What Bible verses do you think we need most?
-Cheryl, Oklahoma City
DoA: I hear ya, Cheryl, but we'll be okay. Remember that in the late 1800s we actually split apart and fought each other. If I had to pick a verse for right now, it would probably be something about love. Luke 6:31 & 6:35 are good. I like 1 Peter 4:8, too. But I'm going with Ephesians 4:2 "Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love." In my humble opinion, I think following that would do everyone a lot of good.

Women's March on Washington
Q: Over 200,000 people are expected to march today for women's rights. Will you and your wife and daughter be there?
-Nicole, Fort Worth
DoA: I am a big fan of political protest, and I can appreciate that people are making their voices heard. Unfortunately, since pro-life folks are unwelcome, we will have to sit this one out. (Which also makes me think they should rename the march to something more specific...)

Crazy in 2017
Q: We saw a Cubs World Series, Brexit, and Donald Trump in 2016. What's the craziest thing we'll see in 2017?
-Stan, Lubbock
DoA: Russell Westbrook is averaging a triple double and not starting the all-star game, so the year is off to a good start. I actually think the craziest thing we'll see is Americans come together. It's gonna be a good year.

Cost of Inauguration
Q: I just saw that Trump's inauguration could cost as much as $200 million--$100 million of which will come from tax payers. That's a lot of money for a 3 Doors Down concert. How can we change this?
-Jessica, Tampa
DoA: It's pretty sickening. I don't see the costs of this nonsense going down anytime soon. But last year, CBS charged $5 million dollars per Super Bowl commercial. They already cover the cost of some of the inauguration with private donations. You'd think they could run 25 commercials during this thing and let taxpayers off the hook...
What are your thoughts on the size of presidential inaugurations?

Agree With bernie
Q: Would the Diary of America agree with Bernie Sanders on anything?
-Alli, Chicago
DoA: Sure. Not on a lot of the big government solutions, but certainly on a lot of the problems. About a week ago, he introduced a great amendment to lower prescription drug costs by allowing imports from other countries. Freedom! It even got support from Rand Paul and Ted Cruz. If your senator was one of the ones that killed it, you should take two minutes to contact him or her.
What are some things that you think supporters of liberty and Bernie Sanders can agree on?
