TREK, Space 1999, Tango, Pinups, Sketches, Moon & Custom BUG

Welcome to AUTOMOTIVE POP CULTURE DAILY! Happy Hump Day, folks… and to celebrate the humpin,’ let’s head into SPACE for some HOT ROD TREK MASTERPRINT ART! Fireball’s done up the main Enterprise ship, but also a super cool HOT ROD Version for your Garage Walls! That is… if you’re a Trekkie! If not, then check out some of the OTHER COOL SHIPS HERE!

DID YOU KNOW?? The model’s principal designer, Walter “Matt” Jefferies, created several different ideas for the original Enterprise’s design to fit the requirements provided by Star Trek’s creator Gene Roddenberry. To support the final design suggestion, Jefferies also created a rough 4-inch balsa and cardboard prototype. Also, Fireball Pop (Anthony Lawrence) was the first-choice writer hand-picked by Roddenberry, but sadly… he was unavailable due to a BONANZA commitment! Yeehaw!!

SPEED RACER TRYPTIC, Clooney, Godzilla, Pinups & MOONEYES!

Welcome to AUTOMOTIVE POP CULTURE DAILY!! Hope you’re ready for this one… ’cause we’re starting off with a super cool SPEED RACER MASTERPRINT TRYPTIC! There were tons of cars in the original Speed Racer TV Show from ’67-’68 and all were cool… but the MACH 5, SHOOTING STAR & GRX were huuuuge stories. Should Fireball do others?? LEAVE A SUGGESTION IN THE COMMENTS!

DID YOU KNOW?? The Mach 5’s steering wheel had seven buttons with letters on them, each of which triggered a special mechanism. For example, the “A” button raised the car, the “D” button made it bulletproof, and the “G” button released a homing robot bird. The original Japanese title of the show was Mach GoGoGo, which was a pun on the car’s name, the hero’s name, and the Japanese sound for tires on a racetrack. Check out the list of cars HERE!

Welcome to AUTOMOTIVE POP CULTURE DAILY! Today, we start out with one of EVERYONE’S favorites… “This is Jim Rockford… please leave a message” ROCKFORD FILES 1978 FIRBIRD MASTERPRINT ART!! One of the best PI Shows ever made… and made in Malibu.

BUT DID YOU KNOW?? One of three Firebird Formulas provided by Pontiac Motor Division to the TV show “The Rockford Files,” it was used from 1978 until the series ended in 1980. With a special Sierra Gold exterior and tan interior, the factory Formula 400 model was modified to look like an Esprit for the show. Which is now a super rare car. Side note… James Garner was Fireball Pop’s BEST MAN at his wedding in 1958! Does that make him a Fireball Garner??

PINK PANTHER, Redford, Ozzie, Movie Cars & NEW COLORING BOO

Welcome to AUTOMOTIVE POP CULTURE DAILY! Today… we get the PINK on with the all-new PINK PANTHER PANTHERMOBILE MASTERPRINT! Wouldn’t it be great to be a SPY and go up against the likes of Inspector Clouseau?? And KATO!! (“That… is not my dog.”)

BUT DID YOU KNOW?? The Panthermobile, a custom car from the “Pink Panther” cartoon series was Designed by Ed “Newt” Newton. Characterized by its distinctive pink color, long, anteater-like shape, and an exposed driver’s compartment positioned far forward. The “Pleasure Capsule” behind the driver’s seat featured pink shag carpeting, plush seating, a bar, faux fur pillows, a rotary phone, and a black and white TV. Due to the open cockpit and long front end, driving the Panthermobile was considered difficult, requiring the driver to wear a helmet and making visibility challenging. Based on an Oldsmobile Toronado chassis, the Panthermobile has a seven-liter V8 engine and front-wheel drive!

BUT DID YOU KNOW?? The green train that transports Elphaba and Glinda to the Emerald City is actually real. It was custom-built for the film, weighed 16 tons and took two days to move. Sounds like my relatives… OH, SNAP! Oh, and the original Toto was played by a female dog named Terry. So there’s that…

PARTRIDGE, McQueen, Ferrari, Pink, Pinup & Corvette Pickup!

Welcome to AUTOMOTIVE POP CULTURE DAILY!! Baam! Let’s start today’s coolness with Fireball’s all-new PARTRIDGE BUS MASTERPRINT! An awesome Hot Rod version of the Bus as are all of Fireball’s MasterSketches! ‘Cause you know, because more POWER is… well, MORE!!! Head into the Garage and CHECK IT OUT!!

DID YOU KNOW?? What do Richard Pryor, Rob Reiner and Ronald Reagan’s daughter Maureen have in common? They were all guest stars on “The Partridge Family.” The show hit the air in 1970 and quickly became a hit, transforming velour pantsuits, neck ruffles and David Cassidy into national obsessions. But the bus was originally a school bus used by the Orange County School District. Screen Gems, the company that produced the show, bought it for $500!! It was painted in a Mondrian-inspired style of primary colors, but after the show ended, wound up in a Los Angeles junkyard in 1987. The bus has been the subject of many unconfirmed sightings since then, including in a backyard in Northern California and a junkyard in upstate New York. YIKES, SCOOBY!

SCOOBY, Mega-Stars, Fireball Concepts, Pinups, Evel & JDM!

Welcome to AUTOMOTIVE POP CULTURE DAILY! We start today with one of the most iconic TV Show Cars ever… The SCOOBY DOO MYSTERY MACHINE as a Fireball MASTERPRINT! But there’s so much more in the Garage! GO NOW!

DID YOU KNOW?? The Mystery Machine was a medium blue van with orange flowers and green accents. It had a spare tire housing on the front of the van’s blunt nose, and the wheel covers were also painted with flowers. It was owned by Fred Jones, the leader of Mystery Inc. before Fred bought it and the van was also owned by a traveling band called the Mystery Kids. It has many tools for monster hunting, including ladders, benches, pop-up tables, and other equipment. There’s no official consensus on what kind of van the Mystery Machine was, but some fans think it was a Dodge A100, while others think a Chevy G-Body van. It’s undergone some changes over the years, including being turned into a monster in one animated movie… But the van’s iconic look was restored after that.

Also in today’s SHAGGY-TASTIC BLAST… Fireball talks with Actor JOHNNY GALECKI to find out he’s a Mustang Guy! Fireball at a Car Show with the BAG OF DOOM! (Santa’s got his sack, Fireball’s got the opposite!) An original Ball Concept of Cuervo’s Limo for the film ESCAPE FROM LA, Actor ROGER MOORE from THE PERSUADERS drove this car in the show, but WHAT WAS IT??
