DID YOU KNOW?? Although Steve McQueen was credited with the driving during the chase sequence, it was actually shared by McQueen and Bud Ekins, one of Hollywood’s best stunt drivers. From the interior shots looking forward inside the Mustang, it’s easy to see which one is driving. The Highland Green Mustang GT350 sold at the Mecum Kissimmee auction in January 2020 for $3,740,000… a world record for a Ford Mustang at the time.

BREAKING BAD, Kustoms, Jesse James, Bats, Pinups & Indy!
Welcome to AUTOMOTIVE POP CULTURE DAILY! Happy Saturday, folks! Get out there! Let’s start the day right by adding some Fireball Art into the mix with the BREAKING BAD RV, baby! This MASTERPRINT and it’s Behind the Scenes Sidekick brings back memories of an amazing (and gut-wrenching) show with an awesome story. And as you know in Hollywood, STORY IS KING.
BUT DID YOU KNOW?? The RV in Breaking Bad is a 1986 Fleetwood Bounder recreational vehicle. Fleetwood Bounders were known for their unique features, including a freshwater tank, refrigerator, microwave, gas range, oven, and wall-to-wall carpeting. Jesse Pinkman nicknamed the RV “The Krystal Ship.” The premise of Breaking Bad was based on the idea of driving around in an RV making methamphetamine, which came from Walter White and Thomas Schnauz, writers from The X-Files!! BTW, there is an actual Breaking Bad RV tour in Albuquerque, New Mexico! The three-hour tours depart from Old Town Thursday to Monday at 9 or 10 a.m., depending on the month. LET’S GOOOO!!

DID YOU KNOW?? Harrison Ford was cast after other actors, including Dustin Hoffman, Clint Eastwood, Sean Connery, and Jack Nicholson turned down the role. (Could you imagine one of these other guys as Rick Deckard?) Rutger Hauer, who played Roy Batty, rewrote his character’s famous speech and presented it to Ridley Scott on set. DONE! Edward James Olmos, who played Gaff, created the fictional language “Cityspeak” by combining several ethnic languages. Good stuff over NOODLES!

DID YOU KNOW?? Stefanie Powers was in the same ballet class as Natalie Wood and Jill St. John… who were both married to Robert Wagner! Yikes!! And the dog who played Freeway was named “Charlie Gray” and was found in an animal shelter. He was especially close to Stefanie Powers, who co-starred with Robert Wagner in the show. Charlie Gray’s offspring, Freeway Jr., appeared in the 1993 TV movie Hart to Hart Returns.

DID YOU KNOW?? The first Corvette was a concept car that debuted at the 1953 Motorama in New York City. It was a low, sleek, two-seater convertible with a fiberglass body. The name “Corvette” came from a small, fast class of warships. Super badass ones! But the ’53 Corvette had only two options: a heater for $91 and an AM radio for $145! Cheap! It was produced under the code name PROJECT OPEL and was an American take on the British sports cars of the era. And it’s STILL… the world’s longest-running, continuously produced passenger car! Zoiks!

After the film, Producers of Batman bought it… and turned it into the JOKERMOBILE!

DID YOU KNOW?? The makeup and hair crew spent almost seven hours transforming Mike Myers into Fat Bastard. To make him look realistic, the crew gave him realistic moles and a crimson, hand-punched hair! Stan Winston’s team provided Myers with an emergency “waste evacuator” also! Holy shit! And to survive the heat from the fat suit, Myers wore an auto-racing “Cool Suit.”

NEW SKETCH, 007, Shows, Lambo, Muscle & Behind the Scenes
Welcome to AUTOMOTIVE POP CULTURE DAILY! And it’s MANNIX!! Today’s all NEW FIREBALL SKETCH! Although there were many cars in MANNIX over the CBS Seasons from 1967 to 1975, the 1972 PLYMOUTH CUDA appeared in Season 5. (Yes, Fireball plans to do more!) And yes, Fireball Pop wrote for this show, too!
BUT DID YOU KNOW?? Mike Connors (Joe Mannix) performed his own stunts on the series. During the filming of the pilot episode, he broke his wrist and dislocated his shoulder. But, today, Mannix is considered a defining moment in television history, setting a standard for crime drama series. And his favorite saying? “If nothing else, just do the right thing.”

BATGIRL, Leno, Hot Rods, TJ Hooker, Dukes, Behind the Scenes
Welcome back to AUTOMOTIVE POP CULTURE DAILY! Hope everyone had a MOST EXCELLENT Christmas! Today, we explode outta the gate with this Classic BATGIRL Masterprint! Sure, she didn’t have a car in the series, BUT SHE SHOULDA! And this was Fireball’s take! The ’55 BATCLASSIC! Check out the coolness in the Garage!
DID YOU KNOW?? In the 1966 Batman TV show, Batgirl (played by Yvonne Craig) was known for her iconic “Batgirl Cycle” which was actually a customized Yamaha YCS1 Motorcycle with special “bat-wing” additions. She performed most of her own stunts, and her character was introduced as a way to add a “girl power” element to the show, often playfully competing with Batman and Robin as part of the “Terrific Trio!” Despite the production wanting a BATGIRL Spinoff, she only appeared in a handful of episodes throughout the series. Bummer… ’cause we would watched that!
