Here’s a simple sequence to get you started. If you’re new to Tapping, you can learn the basics first here.
Step 1: Assess Your Current StateThink about your self-worth right now. Notice any negative thoughts or feelings that arise, such as self-doubt, self-judgment, or critical inner thoughts. On a scale of 0-10, rate how intense that self-doubt or criticism is (10 being the strongest).
Step 2: Tap through the points
Tap about 5-7 times on each point while repeating the following phrases in your mind or out loud:
Side of the hand: Even though I struggle with feeling worthy,
I choose to be open to accepting myself anyway.
Even though I sometimes doubt myself and my abilities,
I give myself permission to breathe and relax now.
Even though I part of me doesn’t think I am enough,
I am open to building up my sense of self-worth.
Eyebrow: I seem to be always questioning my worth
Side of the Eye: This feeling that I’m not enough
Under the Eye: Or that there is something I need to do to prove myself
Under the Nose: What if I’m just not worthy?
Under the Mouth: I’m so tired of doubting myself
Collarbone: All this self-doubt
Under the Arm: Sometimes it’s hard to see my value
Top of the Head: Sometimes it’s hard to accept myself for who I am
Eyebrow: But what if I could shift this pattern?
Side of the Eye: What if I could start accepting myself a little bit more?
Under the Eye: I’m open to seeing more of my own value
Under the Nose: So I choose to be kind to myself in this moment
Under the Mouth: I choose to honor myself
Collarbone: It’s safe to believe and trust in myself
Under the Arm: Maybe I really am worthy
Top of the Head: Maybe I really am enough, right now, in this moment
Step 3: Take a Deep Breath and ReassessTake a deep breath in and out, and then check in with yourself. Rate your intensity of self-doubt or self-criticism again. Has your number shifted at all? Repeat the sequence as needed until you feel like a shift (even just a little shift compared to where you started).
Step 4: Explore Additional TappingThe sequence above was just a very short example of what Tapping for self-worth and self-esteem can look like and sound like. As you tap, you may notice different thoughts, feelings, or memories might arise.
After doing the initial few rounds of Tapping, feel free to go in whatever direction you are called to. You might choose to do some Tapping on a memory, or perhaps on shame or some other emotion you are noticing. Or maybe you want to simply tap while repeating empowering self-worth affirmations. 1. Set clear intentions before you beginStarting your fast in a calm, clear place can help you relax into the experience and show up for yourself and your body in an empowered way.
Dr. Pelz emphasizes the importance of connecting with your “why” before embarking on a fast. This can help you stay on course when things feel hard.
So consider why YOU have chosen to do the fast. What is this fast about for you? Why is it important for you to stick with this fasting journey? When things feel tricky, what do you need to remind yourself of?

During a fast, it’s common to experience physical discomfort. However, Dr. Pelz encourages us to reframe these experiences.
Physical symptoms that arise during a fast are often signs that your body is repairing itself. So when those symptoms show up, take a moment to recognize that they are messages from your body, letting you know you are in a phase of healing and repairing.
This simple shift in perspective can help you release stress, find more comfort in the discomfort, and sink even deeper into the healing experience of your fast.

Fasting isn’t just a physical journey; it’s an emotional one too!
Dr. Pelz explains: “It is common during a fast for a variety of different emotions to bubble to the surface… All of this is okay and a natural part of the process. It is important to let emotions come up, pay attention to them, and learn from them.”
Oftentimes, we use food to self-soothe, numb our feelings, or distract ourselves. During a fast, when you don’t have food to turn to, it can be a powerful opportunity to get in touch with your emotions, get to know yourself better, and tend to yourself with love and care.
So when emotions show up, ask yourself: What are these emotions here to show me? What do I need to know?

Sleep patterns can shift during a fast, which is perfectly normal! You may notice yourself waking up more, having a harder time falling asleep, or something else.
Dr. Pelz advises that you trust your body will get the rest it needs, and relax into the experience.
Your body does a lot of healing and repairing during a fast, and it will continue to heal as you rest at night.
The more you sink into a state of peace and ease before bed and throughout the night, the more you support this healing process. So prioritize rest and relax into it – even if that rest doesn’t look like the regular night of sleep you are used to!

How you end your fast is just as important as how you begin it.
Dr. Pelz encourages a mindful transition. First, celebrate yourself for choosing this journey, for going through the process, and for committing and seeing it through even when it was hard. Next, consider what you’ll nourish your body with first, and what you’ll do next.

4 Things Your Inner Child Needs to Hear – with Kim Murray
When you look back on your childhood, you may have some memories that are lighthearted, carefree, and positive, and yet others that are difficult and challenging to look back on.
For whatever reason, we may not have had all of our needs met when we were younger.
And so, there’s an inner child inside of all of us that is looking for the love and care it always longed for…
Nurturing the inner child within you and providing that part of you with the love and care it needed as a child is a powerful way to bring inner peace to your internal world.
Today, we are going to get the chance to speak to our inner child, and give it some of the reassurance it needs to hear.
These insights and pieces of wisdom are inspired by the time I spent with Kim Murray, a meditation teacher and Tapping practitioner who specializes in inner child work.
I loved getting the chance to chat with Kim about nurturing the inner child within all of us, and to collaborate with her in creating Tapping meditations for The Tapping Solution app that give us all the chance to do this healing work.

4 Things Your Inner Child Needs To HearYour inner child seeks your love, compassion, support, and understanding. If you want to start the process of connecting with, nurturing, and healing your inner child, then letting it know these four things is a great place to start:
1. All of your emotions are validWe all went through a lot when we were kids. Whether it was due to family tensions, schoolplace stressors, or traumatic experiences, your younger self faced many challenges.
And likely, that little child experienced emotions that they felt they had to suppress, ignore, or hide from the people around them. They may have learned that they shouldn’t feel a certain way, or that their emotions didn’t make sense.
But the truth is, all of their feelings made sense. All of their emotions were valid. They had a right to feel them, and they had a right for those feelings to be seen, honored, and validated.
So let’s give your inner child that reassurance now.
Bring to mind an image of your younger self, your inner child. In your mind’s eye, get down on their level, look into their eyes, and tell them:
All of your emotions are valid.
Your feelings make sense.

2. You are enoughIt is during childhood, when our nervous systems are learning to adapt to the world, that our strongest and loudest limiting beliefs are often formed. We carry these limiting beliefs all through childhood and into our adult lives, and over time they impact how we see ourselves and the world around us.
And one of the strongest limiting beliefs many of us carry is the belief that we are not enough.
There’s likely a little child within you who is doubting if they are enough… If they are smart enough, good enough, strong enough, beautiful enough…
It can be an incredibly powerful healing experience to go back and reassure your inner child that they are, in fact, enough. To let them know that they’ve always been enough and always will be, no matter what.
Let’s try that now.
Bring to mind an image of your younger self, your inner child. In your mind’s eye, get down on their level, look into their eyes, and tell them:
You are enough.
You’ve always been enough.
You will always be enough.

3. I won’t abandon you, no matter whatOur inner child often feels vulnerable, scared, and worried they’ll be left behind or abandoned.
One way to help our adult selves to feel more calm and at ease in the present moment is to soothe and comfort the inner child within us that is worried, upset, or afraid.
Now, as a wise adult, you have the chance to let that inner child know that you will be there for them, that you will care for them, that you will protect them, and that you’ll have their back no matter what.
By letting that inner child know that you will be there for them, no matter how big their feelings are, no matter what they do, and no matter what mistakes they make, you can move forward feeling more clear, free, and empowered.
Bring to mind an image of your younger self, your inner child. In your mind’s eye, get down on their level, look into their eyes, and tell them:
I’m always here for you.
I won’t ever abandon you.
No matter what,
I’ve got your back.

When we can encourage that little child within us to be free and to feel calm, happy, and confident, we can begin to release old patterns, let go of self-doubt, dismantle limiting beliefs, and come to a place in the present moment where we become connected, aligned, and at peace with ourselves.
When our inner child feels safe, and when we feel safe, we can start to live fully as our most authentic self.

Here’s a basic Tapping sequence to boost confidence in an area of your life where self-doubt is showing up:
Step 1: Identify the issue
Think of a specific situation where you lack confidence or notice self-doubt showing up. Be as precise as possible when identifying the area you’d like to work on.
Step 2: Assess how you feel
When you think about the situation, how much self-doubt or anxiety shows up? Rate the intensity of your self-doubt on a scale from 0 to 10, with 10 being you feel completely unsure of yourself and not at all confident, and 0 being you feel totally confident and at ease.
Step 3: Compose a setup statement
Form a setup statement that acknowledges the issue while accepting yourself. For example:
“Even though I don’t feel confident about the presentation at work, I deeply and completely accept myself.” or “Even though my inner voice is saying I’m not good enough to do this, I am safe and okay in this moment.”
Step 4: Move through the Tapping sequence
While repeating your setup statement three times, tap on the Side of the Hand point. Then, tap through the following points in order while focusing on your feelings about the situation. You can also speak out loud about the issue while you tap through the points.

“This lack of confidence” “I don’t feel good enough”“What if I fail?”“I’m so nervous about this”“I wish I felt more confident”Step 5: Reassess and repeat
After completing one round of Tapping, take a deep breath and reassess your intensity level using the 0 to 10 scale. If you feel more confident and self-assured, your new number will be lower. Repeat step 4, Tapping through the points while thinking about the issue, as many times as needed until you feel a shit.
Step 6: Tap through the points again while moving towards the positive
Once you’ve released some of the self-doubt and resistance to confidence, you can do a final round of Tapping while encouraging your confidence to grow.
As you tap through the points in the same order as listed above, repeat empowering statements to yourself, or even imagine yourself in the situation feeling confident, assured, and at ease.
Phrases you might repeat to yourself this time might include:
“I choose to believe in myself”“I’m open to feeling more confident”“I’m stronger than I think”“I’m learning to trust myself”“I can handle whatever comes my way”“It’s safe to feel confident”“I’m building my confidence every day”
Step 7: Take a deep breath and stop Tapping
Congratulations, you’ve done it! You can repeat as necessary, adjusting the wording and length of Tapping to address your current needs in the moment.
Be patient and kind with yourself as you begin practicing Tapping for confidence. Take it at your own pace, and know that any Tapping you do – even just a few minutes per day – is making a difference.

Forgiveness can be one of the most challenging yet transformative acts we undertake. Whether you’re struggling to forgive someone else or yourself, the weight of resentment, anger, and hurt can be overwhelming. What Is Tapping for forgiveness?Before we dive into the Tapping techniques, it’s important to understand what forgiveness really means. After all, we tend to have a lot of resistance to forgiveness.
Sure, we might know we “should” forgive, but we don’t always want to. It’s difficult!
There’s often a part of us that says, “No way, I was wronged! And if I forgive them, I’m condoning the behavior.”
And there’s also often a deeper part, rooted in our ancient brain and biology, that finds it hard to forgive because of the fear that if we forgive, it’s going to happen again and we’ll get hurt. It doesn’t feel safe.
But here’s the truth about forgiveness: forgiveness doesn’t mean forgetting what happened or excusing harmful behavior. It doesn’t mean rolling over when bad things happen to us and giving in.
Rather, forgiveness is a conscious decision to release the grip that negative emotions have on you. It’s a choice to free yourself from the burden of anger, fear, and resentment, so you can move forward with greater peace and ease.
This is where Tapping comes in. With Tapping, we can address both our conscious thinking about the issue, as well as the deeper subconscious and biological roots holding us back.
Tapping (also sometimes called EFT or Emotional Freedom Techniques) combines elements of modern psychology therapy with ancient Chinese acupressure, helping to calm the nervous system and rewire emotional responses.

On a scale of 0-10, rate how intense your emotions are when you think about the situation. This gives you a baseline to measure your progress.
Step 3: Create a setup statement
Form a statement that acknowledges the issue while accepting yourself. For example:
“Even though I’m angry at [person/situation] for [specific reason], I deeply and completely accept myself.” or “Even though I’m having a hard time forgiving [person/situation], I am okay in this moment.”
Step 4: Move through the Tapping sequence
While repeating your setup statement three times, tap on the Side of the Hand point. Then, tap through the following points in order while focusing on your feelings about the situation. You can also speak out loud about what is bothering you while you tap through the points.

After completing one round of Tapping, take a deep breath and reassess your intensity level using the 0 to 10 scale. Repeat the process, adjusting your statements as needed, until you feel a shift.

First, identify who or what you are having trouble forgiving. Get really specific on what happened, what they said, what they did, how they acted, and bring that memory to mind.
How do you feel when you think about it? What’s the emotion? Where do you feel it in your body?
Give it an intensity on a 0 to 10 scale, 10 being the most intense. If you can, write down what you’re feeling and the number, as it helps to be able to track your progress.
Now, let’s do some tapping! Tap on the recommended points while repeating the phrases out loud or in your mind:
Side of the Hand: Even though I refuse to forgive them because of what they did to me…I deeply love and accept myself… (or you can simply say, “I’m OK” if love and accepting yourself is too much right now)
Side of the Hand: Even though I refuse to forgive them because of what they did to me…I deeply love and accept myself…

Eyebrow: I can’t believe they did that
Side of the Eye: I’m so angry
Under the Eye: It’s not right
Under the Nose: It’s not fair
Under the Mouth: And I refuse to let it go
Collarbone: All this anger
Under the Arm: All this ____ (fill in the blank with how you feel)
Top of the Head: In every cell of my body
Eyebrow: I just can’t let this go
Side of the Eye: Because they don’t deserve that
Under the Eye: They don’t deserve my forgiveness
Under the Nose: And I refuse to let it go
Under the Mouth: So much anger
Collarbone: About what happened
Under the Arm: About what they did
Top of the Head: About what they said
Keep tapping on the “negative” or the “truth,” until you find that the intensity has lessened enough that you can say some positive statements, and have them feel fully or at least somewhat true. We tap on the “negative” first in order to clear this resistance – not to affirm it, but to open up the door for positive thoughts.
You can also simply tap through the points as you think specifically about what they did, what they said, what happened, etc. It can be helpful to imagine it like watching a movie in detail as you keep tapping through the points. Go through as much detail as you can while you keep tapping, with the goal being you can eventually think about the event or the person without heavy resistance coming up.
What’s most important is that you feel the feeling, get specific about what you experienced, and tap until it’s released.
When you’re ready – when it “feels” right – move on to some positive statements.
Eyebrow: Maybe it’s time to let this go
Side of the Eye: I wonder if I can let this go
Under the Eye: What if I can let part of this go
Under the Nose: Releasing this anger
Under the Mouth: From every cell of my body
Collarbone: Letting it go
Under the Arm: Letting it all go
Top of the Head: Right now
Tap through a couple of rounds of positive statements and feel free to add in your own words or affirmations. These are just guidelines to get you started.
When you’re done Tapping, take a deep breath… and let it go. Think of what happened again, and notice how it’s changed. Rate the current intensity on the 0 to 10 scale. Write down your new number.
You can stop Tapping if you’re at a good place, or keep Tapping until you feel a bigger shift.
Remember, forgiveness is a process. Be patient and gentle with yourself as you work through these emotions.
Tapping for self-forgivenessSelf-forgiveness can be particularly challenging. Here are some affirmations to incorporate into your Tapping routine when working on forgiving yourself:

Anxiety can feel overwhelming, impacting our daily lives and wellbeing. Fortunately, Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), also known as Tapping, offers a simple yet powerful tool to help manage anxiety symptoms.
This guide will walk you through a basic Tapping sequence specifically designed for anxiety relief. Whether you’re new to Tapping or looking to refine your technique, these steps can help you find calm and balance when anxiety strikes.

The basics of the Tapping process for anxietyAlways begin Tapping on the side of the hand point while you repeat the setup statement to yourself. This allows you to be honest with how you feel and sets you up for the Tapping process (more on the setup statement below).Begin Tapping while focusing on how you feel or on the problem. By doing this you send a calming signal to your brain, allowing you to think of the problem without feeling stress in your body.When you feel better, you can move to more empowering thoughts. How to do Tapping for anxiety: Let’s break down the stepsHere are the steps you’ll want to follow to try the Tapping technique for anxiety:
Identify the problem on which you want to focus. It can be general anxiety, or it can be a specific situation or issue which causes you to feel anxious.Assess how you feel. Consider the problem or situation. How do you feel about it right now? Rate the intensity level of your anxiety on a scale of 0 to 10, with zero being the lowest level of anxiety and ten being the highest.Compose a setup statement. Your setup statement should acknowledge the problem you want to deal with, then follow it with a phrase of acceptance. This helps neutralize any judgments you may have around how you feel and allow you to be more honest with your Tapping. Here are some example setup statements: “Even though I feel this anxiety, I accept how I feel”“Even though I’m anxious about my interview, I accept myself and how I feel.”“Even though I’m feeling this anxiety about my financial situation, I honor my feelings and give my body permission to relax.”Start Tapping on the side of the hand. Take a deep breath, and then start Tapping! While Tapping on the side of the hand point (on the outer edge of the hand, on the opposite side from the thumb), repeat the setup statement three times aloud. Tap through the rest of the points. Now, tap about 5 to 7 times each on the remaining eight points in the sequence described below. As you tap on each point, repeat a simple reminder phrase, such as “my anxiety” or “my interview” or “my financial situation” to help you mentally focus on your issue.
Eyebrow Point (EB)
Where the eyebrows begin, closest to the bridge of the nose.
Side of Eye (SE)
On the bone directly along the outside of either eye.
Under Eye (UE)
On the bone directly under either eye.
Under Nose (UN)
The area directly beneath the nose and above the upper lip.
Chin Point (CP)
This is the area just below your bottom lip and above the chin, right in the crease.
Collarbone Point (CB)
Starting from where your collar bones meet in the center, go down an inch and out an inch on either side.
Under Arm (UA)
On your side, about four inches beneath the armpit.
Top of Head (TH)
Directly on the crown of your head.
Examples:
“Even though I have some remaining anxiety, I accept how I feel and choose to relax.”
“Even though I’m still a little worried about this interview, I deeply and completely accept myself.” And so on.
Introduce more empowering thoughts. Now that you’ve focused on dispelling your immediate anxiety, you can work on instilling some positive feelings in its place. Keep tapping through the Tapping points in sequence while repeating empowering statements, such as:“I have faith in my ability to change.”
“I am joyful about these positive changes.”
“I am accomplishing so much.”
“I enjoy the calm and peace that I have.”
“I love the person that I am.”
“I am becoming a more relaxed and joyful person.”
This approach is different from traditional “positive thinking.” You’re not being dishonest with yourself. You’re not trying to obscure the stress and anxiety inside yourself with a veneer of insincere affirmations. Rather, you’ve confronted and dealt with the anxiety and its corresponding negative emotions, offering deep and complete acceptance to both your feelings and yourself.
The same way you need to weed a garden before you plant seeds, you have to release the intensity of what you’re feeling before more empowering thoughts can take root. That’s what makes Tapping so much more effective than the “positive thinking” techniques that many of you have already tried.

The research: Does Tapping to lower blood pressure really work?You might be wondering, “Does finger tapping really lower blood pressure?” The answer, according to emerging research, is yes!
A 2019 study published in the Journal of Evidence-Based Integrative Medicine found that participants who practiced EFT Tapping during a 4-day workshop experienced significant reductions in systolic and diastolic blood pressure, along with improvements in other physiological markers of health like resting heart rate.
