Loon Who Glued His Feet to the Floor to Protest Climate Change at U.S. Open Whines That He Was Put in a Psych Ward After His Arrest | The Gateway Pundit
A trio of far left loons protested climate change at the U.S. Open this week.
One of the men went so far as to glue his feet to the floor, making it much more difficult to remove him from the scene.
After his arrest, he was taken to a psych ward and he was not happy about it.
PJ Media reports:
Climate Protester Who Glued His Feet to the Floor Complains About Being Put in Psych Ward
Shayok Mukhopadhyay and three other climate activists stood up and began to chant “End fossil fuels now” shortly after the second set began. As event security moved in, it became apparent that Mukhopadhyay had glued his feet to the concrete floor of Arthur Ashe stadium. Mukhopadhyay’s companions were led away, but it took medical personnel almost 50 minutes to get his feet unglued so he could be taken into custody.
But these were Mukhopadhyay’s 15 minutes. And he wasn’t going to waste a second of them. Mukhopadhyay was taken to East Elmhurst Hospital and given a psych exam.
“I’ve been arrested before, but I’ve never had this experience,” Mukhopadhyay said. “They were asking obvious leading questions like, ‘Do you think the world is going to end?’ This typical stereotype of the crazy, apocalyptic cult kind of thing.”…
“This was completely a mechanism to intimidate and humiliate and to paint a distorted picture of me,” he said. “Who’s the crazy person here? It’s Biden who’s the crazy person here, who, in 2023, is approving new oil and gas projects when international energy agencies founded by Henry Kissinger – no tree hugger – have said there should be no new fossil fuel infrastructure.”
People were actually cheering when they were finally removed.
US Open: Coco Gauff vs Karolina Muchova
Coco wins the first set 6-4
Second set in progress, Coco leads 1-0
Play suspended due to protests. Looks like protester is being escorted by NYPD.

These people don’t seem to realize that their behavior is turning people against their cause.
No one has patience for this nonsense anymore.

UNCONSTITUTIONAL: New Mexico’s Democrat Governor Suspends Second Amendment Rights in Albuquerque with 30-Day Ban on Open and Concealed Carry | The Gateway Pundit
Screenshot: Michelle Lujan Grisham/KOB4
In a controversial move, Democrat Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham declared gun violence a public health emergency in response to the shooting deaths of a thirteen-year-old girl on July 28, a five-year-old girl on August 14, and an eleven-year-old boy on September 6.
One of the most troubling aspects of this public health order is the temporary suspension of open and concealed carry laws in Bernalillo County effective immediately. This action directly infringes upon law-abiding citizens’ Constitutional right to bear arms. The Governor has carved out exceptions for licensed security guards and law enforcement officers.
“The action plan includes a suspension of open and concealed carry laws in Bernalillo County, temporarily prohibiting the carrying of guns on public property with certain exceptions. Exceptions include for licensed security guards and law enforcement officers. Citizens with permits to carry firearms are free to possess their weapons on private property (such as at a gun range or gun store), provided they transport the firearm in a locked box, use a trigger lock, or some other mechanism that renders the gun incapable of being fired,” according to the press release.
The public health order also directs:
The Regulation and Licensing Division to conduct monthly inspections of licensed firearm dealers to ensure compliance with all sales and storage laws. The Department of Health, along with the Environment Department, to begin wastewater testing for illegal substances such as fentanyl at schools. The Department of Health to compile and issue a comprehensive report on gunshot victims presenting at hospitals in New Mexico, which shall include (if available): demographic data of gunshot victims, including age, gender, race, and ethnicity; data on gunshot victim’s healthcare outcomes; the brand and caliber of the firearm used; the general circumstances leading to the injury; the impact of gunshot victims on New Mexico’s healthcare system; and any other pertinent information.A prohibition on firearms on state property, including state buildings and schools. This also includes other places of education where children gather, such as parks. The State Police to add officers in Albuquerque with funding for overtime provided. The Children, Youth and Families Department to immediately suspend the Juvenile Detention Alternative Initiative and evaluate juvenile probation protocols.“As I said yesterday, the time for standard measures has passed,” said Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham in a statement. “And when New Mexicans are afraid to be in crowds, to take their kids to school, to leave a baseball game – when their very right to exist is threatened by the prospect of violence at every turn – something is very wrong.”
Lujan Grisham said the restrictions “are going to pose incredible challenges for me as a governor and as a state.”
“I welcome the debate and fight about how to make New Mexicans safer,” she said at a news conference.
A reporter confronted Grisham on this ridiculous order.
WATCH:
Reporter: All the examples you cited are crimes. Kids shooting at other kids shooting from cars. So what’s the value of the civil order? Why not just do better law enforcement?
Grisham: Both, the value of the order is that it gives me three things. One, it says it’s a statewide issue, and it’s a message to everyone to start leveraging your resources and arresting people. Two, the jurisdictions come at this, including with the DOJ restrictions differently without the leveraging and the additional resources, arresting. And where do they go? We got to make sure that everyone is bumping up their services. It’s a message to the Metropolitan Detention Center. It’s a message to the HMOs, you better figure out treatment. We have been sort of stalled out. To your point, this order basically says to stop stalling out. And to your point, just arrest everyone. Well, I also have to have the ability I can’t arrest everyone. There are literally too many people to arrest.
Reporter: If someone’s got a concealed carry permit in Albuquerque walking down a public street, they’re not going to get arrested.
Grisham: I can make the point that maybe they should be. And this is the point. I’m willing to do anything and everything within a shred of evidence based effort. Because if you’re not horrified that on any street corner in too many cities in New Mexico, there is someone with a gun sticking out of their waist or their belt. And I’ll tell you, if you’re a young person, you’re not allowed to have a handgun.
Reporter: It’s a crime already.
Grisham: I got it. But we won’t be able to arrest all of them. So imagine just in a perfect world, if this was upheld, it gives all of these police officers the ability to focus on the real criminals.
Reporter: You took an oath to the Constitution. Isn’t it unconstitutional to say you cannot exercise your carry license?
Grisham: With one exception, and that is if there’s an emergency, and I’ve declared an emergency for a temporary amount of time, I can invoke additional powers. No constitutional right, in my view, including my oath, is intended to be absolute. There are restrictions on free speech. There are restrictions on my freedoms in this emergency. This eleven year old and all these parents who have lost all these children, they deserve my attention to have the debate about whether or not in an emergency, we can create a safer environment. Because what about their constitutional rights? I took an oath to uphold those, too. And if we ignore this growing problem without being bold, I’ve said to every other New Mexican, your rights are subrogated to theirs. And they are not in my view.
Reporter: Wait a minute, you’re talking about crimes. There are already laws against the crime.
Grisham: But again, if I’m unsafe, who’s standing up for that right? If this crime is so out of control, somebody should do something. I’m doing as much as I know to do.
Reporter: Madam Governor, do you really think that criminals are going to hear this message and not carry a gun in Albuquerque on the streets for 30 days?
Grisham: No.
Governor Lujan Grisham says her duty to uphold her oath to the constitution is “not absolute” pic.twitter.com/Mla4rcNXMX
— Beau Hightower (@beauhightowerdn) September 8, 2023
By issuing a sweeping public health order that suspends the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens in Bernalillo County, Gov. Grisham effectively sidesteps the actual causes of gun violence and drug abuse. There’s no evidence to suggest that legal gun owners are contributing to these violent crimes. Instead, this decision disproportionately impacts those who rely on their Second Amendment rights for self-defense, potentially leaving them vulnerable.

What is 5G? The networking tech explained
5G has been around for almost 5 years now so you’re likely well aware of its existence and, even, have access to it on one of your internet-connected devices. But, do you know all the basics? We’re here to explain 5G in simple terms.
What is 5G?The absolute basics are that it is called 5G because it is the fifth generation of broadband cellular networks. The tech started to appear on devices in 2019 and has grown ever since. It enables another form of mobile broadband, which allows you to connect to the internet wherever there is a signal, without the need for Wi-Fi.
Google Pixel 7a on an incredibly affordable contract
Enjoy the brilliant new mid-ranger from Google with 50GB of data for an unbelievable £16.87 a month.
Mobiles£49 upfront£16.87 a monthIs 5G better than 4G?5G promises better performance in all areas than 4G. It is capable of providing faster connectivity speeds, ultra-low latency (the delay between an instruction to move data and the data transfer occurring), and greater bandwidth (the amount of data that can be transferred from one point to another within a specific timeframe).
However, in 2019, if you switched to 5G phone from a 4G phone, you may not have noticed all of these advantages. That’s because its network is not yet as widespread as that of 4G. Ofcom estimated in 2021 that 99% of premises in the UK have outdoor 4G coverage, whereas the figure for 5G networks is just 42-57%. Naturally, this coverage is also centred in urban areas. However, 5G networks are expected to be expanded significantly over the coming years.
However, it has been four years and it has continued to grow, according to RootMetrics: “Major mobile operators in the UK have continued to improve 5G availability since early deployments in 2019, and in 1H 2023, those improvements were especially beneficial for users of EE and Three, with both operators averaging 5G availability above 50% in major cities. Virgin Media O2 and Vodafone have also continued to expand 5G availability, with Virgin Media O2’s 5G availability averaging nearly 50% while Vodafone was closer to 40%.”

Should I buy a 5G phone? At the time of writing, the answer to this question really depends on your personal circumstances. If you are otherwise happy with your current phone and have no other reasons to upgrade, then we’d say you should stick with it for the time being, as 5G does not add a great deal of utility at this point in time to make it worth the expense of a brand new smartphone. However, if you’re buying a new phone anyway, then it’s advisable to buy a 5G-capable device just to ensure that it is future-proof for the coming years. For example, the iPhone 15 is set to launch and will absolutely sport 5G, much like many modern phones now.
Is 5G safe to use? There is no reason to believe that 5G is harmful. The UK government states:
It is possible that there may be a small increase in overall exposure to radio waves when 5G is added to an existing network or in a new area. However, the overall exposure is expected to remain low relative to guidelines and, as such, there should be no consequences for public health.
What is sub-6GHz 5G?Sub-6GHz refers to the frequencies of the radio waves transmitted. 5G can be transmitted on a spectrum of different frequencies, and sub-6GHz is the most common of these. By contrast, the upper band of 4G frequencies in the UK is 2.6GHz.
The higher the frequency of these radio waves, the more data can be transmitted; however, the catch is that higher-frequency waves have a shorter range.
Sub-6GHz refers to mid- and low-frequency bands as far as 5G is concerned, and when connected to these frequencies you can achieve speeds in the hundreds of Mbps (megabits per second). All 5G phones support sub-6GHz frequencies.
What is mmWave 5G?mmWave (which stands for millimetre wave) is high frequency 5G that operates at 24GHz and above, up to around 100GHz, and so it can achieve much higher speeds than sub-6GHz 5G.
mmWave connections can provide blistering maximum speeds of up to 5Gbps (gigabits per second), but its range is extremely limited; it can only travel around 100m, and struggles to penetrate buildings.
Not all 5G phones support mmWave frequencies, but this high-frequency network is much less extensive than sub-6GHz 5G. There is currently no mmWave 5G network in the UK but, in March 2023, regulator Ofcom began consultation on launching the technology.

Former Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon, Who Was Convicted of Embezzlement, Now Running for Mayor Again | The Gateway Pundit
Former Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon, a Democrat of course, was forced out of office in 2010 when she was convicted of embezzlement.
Now she is planning to run for mayor again, and she has a chance because this is Baltimore, after all.
The Associated Press reports:
Convicted of embezzlement, former Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon is running again
More than a decade after being convicted of embezzling donated gift cards, a former Baltimore mayor has announced she’s again running for office.
Sheila Dixon, who resigned as part of a 2010 plea agreement in the corruption case, penned an op-ed in The Baltimore Sun on Thursday apologizing for her past digressions and announcing her candidacy in the city’s 2024 mayoral race. This marks her third bid for mayor following two unsuccessful attempts since her own tenure ended in scandal.
Dixon will go up against current Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott in the city’s Democratic primary. Scott is running for a second term.
In December 2009, a jury found Dixon guilty of embezzlement for misusing gift cards that had been donated to City Hall for charity. Instead of using them to serve the poor, Dixon spent about $500 at Target and Best Buy to purchase things for her family and staff.
Additional perjury charges against her were later dropped. Dixon served four years probation and completed other requirements. She was also barred from seeking political office for two years.
Here’s a video report:
It must be nice to be a Democrat.
Baltimore is already regressive and incapable of implementing quality of life and safety measures for the 21st century. Sheila Dixon is a convicted criminal who just last month said she wants to repeal Complete Streets and rip out bike lanes. Hell. No. https://t.co/i6fqHjFMLo

If you think Dixon can’t win, just look up the story of former Washington, DC mayor Marion Barry.

The best 4K and 8K TVs for gaming
Modern TVs are ladled with helpful gaming features such as auto low latency mode, variable refresh rates and 4K/120Hz, and leading that charge is LG, its OLED42C2 is a OLED suited for smaller spaces and bedroom gaming.
It’s currently LG’s smallest OLED TV at 42-inches, which means it can double up as a gaming monitor as well as screen for watching films and TV. Auto low latency mode, variable refresh rates and 4K/120Hz are available across all the HDMI inputs, useful for those with multiple HDMI 2.1 sources and it also means you won’t have to worry about using up the eARC port, which passes through high quality audio to a connected soundbar.
Of the three 42-inch OLEDs we’ve tested, a list that includes the Panasonic LZ980 and Sony A90K, neither of those models match the LG for its connectivity of gaming features.
We measured latency at 12.9ms, which is not the fastest on the market but with HDMI VRR, Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro support, whether you’re a console or PC gamer, you can get even lower levels of lag for a faster, performance.
Features such as Game Optimiser adapt the TV’s performance for specific game genres. You can view the TV’s current performance in terms of frame rates and change aspects of the picture such as black levels to peak into the darker parts of the picture. If you ask us, that rather sounds like cheating…
We found picture quality to impress playing Gran Turismo 7 on the PS5. It’s a sharp, clear and detailed, with a peak brightness we measured of 699 nits on a 5% window, which is a very good HDR performance for a TV of this size. That level of luminance helped brighten the highlights, especially the decals of the cars and the glint of sunshine off their surfaces, as well as making for a bright picture performance in general. Unlike cheaper TVs, we didn’t find that switching to game mode doesn’t affect the colour performance in a negative way.
The OLED42C2 has support for Dolby Vision Gaming, which is of more use to Xbox Series gamers, and improves the HDR performance of compatible games, as well as offering a high performance with 4K/120Hz frame rates (where supported) and improved contrast.
We found it’s a decent-sounding TV, though we wouldn’t opt for the Game Optimiser sound mode. While it’s smoother than the sharp AI Sound Pro mode, it’s still a little too crisp when playing GT7, which made it hard to distinguish between the music, car engines and other effects. Standard mode is much smoother by comparison.

Top picks in gaming, Chromebooks and more
Lenovo’s range of laptops is vast and spans productivity, business, 2-in-1s, gaming and more. There are so many to choose from and we’ve reviewed plenty. Armed with our expert knowledge and results from thorough testing, we’ve selected the best.
A lot of laptops come through the doors of Trusted Reviews, whether it is devices made for intensive content creation, serious gaming or ultra-portable offerings. Lenovo is a prolific manufacturer that has made strong options across all of these categories, as well as some sub-par models. That’s where our testing comes in, to sort the wheat from the chaff.
We know that, when you’re looking for a laptop, you want to be secure in your purchase as they don’t come cheap, even on the budget side of things. So, we’ve selected the best Lenovo laptops in various key categories so you can pinpoint what will suit your needs.
But, how do we decide? Well, along with using these laptops as our daily driver for up to two weeks, we use industry-standard benchmarks to compare machines with key competitors. These tests assess productivity and graphics performance, as well as analysing the display and battery life.
If these top Lenovo picks don’t take your fancy, we’ve reviewed a lot more laptops so do check out our Best Huawei Laptop, Best Dell Laptop, Best Acer Laptop and Best Asus Laptop lists. Away from brand-focused guides, check out these category-based options too, Best Laptop, Best Gaming Laptop, Best Ultrabook, Best Student Laptop and Best Budget Laptop. We’re also testing more Lenovo laptops right now so do come back to this list to see the latest and greatest laptop options.
Best Lenovo laptop at a glanceHow we testLearn more about how we test laptopsEvery laptop we review goes through a series of uniform checks designed to gauge key things including build quality, performance, screen quality and battery life.
These include formal synthetic benchmarks and scripted tests, plus a series of real world checks, such as how well it runs the most frequently used apps.
We also make sure to use every laptop we review as our primary device for at least a week to ensure our review is as accurate as possible.
Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i ProBest all-round Lenovo laptopProsHigh-res 16:10 aspect screenGood build quality, stylish designGlass touchpadConsBattery life doesn’t match that of AMD laptopsIf you’re looking for an immense all-round portable, then the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Pro is the best Lenovo laptop that money can buy. We found it to excel when it came to build quality with little to no flex with its aluminium casing, and at 1.39kg, remains rather portable, as well as being strong, which makes it a marvellous choice for students looking for an all-conquering ultrabook-style offering.
The display on the Yoga Slim 7i Pro is also something to behold, with a 14-inch screen, complete with a taller 16:10 aspect ratio, that we found in testing to have a brightness of 388 nits. This meant that colours looked pretty rich for an LCD panel, and in the real world, would be vibrant enough for indoor and indeed outdoor usage.
Inside, the 11th gen Intel Core i7 chips provided some brilliant performance in testing, with its benchmark figures coming close to that of the Dell XPS 13. If you want to use the Yoga Slim 7i Pro in pro-grade apps such as Photoshop, it should work a treat, with its integrated Iris Xe graphics also helping to give you moderate performance in games, albeit at a downscaled resolution.
The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Pro has even been approved by the Intel Evo initiative, which means the laptop meets Intel’s strict criteria to be labelled as one of the best Intel-powered laptops on the market. The battery life on offer here we found will get you through a working day with a little bit of juice to spare, even if the 19-hour figure Lenovo quotes is a little optimistic.
All in all, the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Pro is a great all-round Lenovo laptop with superb construction, complete with a good 16:10 display with admirable performance from its Intel combo of CPU and integrated graphics.

Lenovo Chromebook DuetBest Lenovo ChromebookProsVery affordable priceBundled keyboard offers versatilitySuperb screen for video contentExcellent battery life ConsLack of headphone jackPoor speaker qualityKeyboard is uncomfortably smallThe Lenovo Chromebook Duet has been a mainstay on our list of the best Chromebooks for a good while now, and it’s for good reason, given it offers arguably one of the most accessible and convenient computing experiences money can buy.
We found it to be extremely portable, weighing in at just 450g, making it a great choice for those on the go. This is quite the versatile device too, given you can use it as either a touchscreen device or a more traditional laptop with the keyboard cover.
Its 10-inch touchscreen features some great colours, which we found to be great for day-to-day usage, whether you’re enjoying episodes of Rick and Morty or BoJack Horseman, or even some cloud gaming with the likes of The Witcher 3. It struggled a little with darker scenes during testing, but on the whole, the Lenovo Chromebook Duet’s display performed admirably.
The MediaTek Helio P60T octa-core processor, also served up a nippy performance for web browsing during our tests, even if its benchmark scores may not indicate otherwise. ChromeOS is a great operating system for those who need a system to do the basics well, and we found the Lenovo Chromebook Duet worked pretty well for just that.
In testing the Chromebook Duet for a day’s work, and in running our battery benchmark, we found its battery life to be stellar, with a total of 13 or so hours before it eventually conked out. This puts it in the upper frame of Chromebooks.
Make no bones about it, the Lenovo Chromebook Duet is a brilliant Chromebook, especially if you’re after the convenience of a touchscreen and a tablet-style arrangement. If you want a more traditional laptop-based Chromebook experience then we’d say to head for the likes of the Acer Chromebook 314 which offers comparable performance in a laptop-style chassis.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 10Best business laptopThe name ThinkPad is synonymous with business laptop greatness, and the latest Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 10 delivers.
This new model stays true to what makes these devices great and sprinkles some luxury on top. What makes the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 10 so good is how the user interacts with it. It’s an absolute joy, with a keyboard that offers surprisingly deep travel for such a slim device as well as satisfying feedback. There’s useful 2-stage backlighting and, of course, the red joystick nestled in the centre.
Also important for business users is a quality webcam, and you’ve got that right here. The 1080p webcam offers detail and some neat features, like blurring when you walk away and infrared for secure face unlocking.
What you might not expect from a functional business laptop is a high-quality display. This ThinkPad breaks through this expectation with a high contrast 14-inch QHD OLED panel. Its colours are rich and the brightness is strong. You get the added benefit of a semi-matte finish for batting back reflections too.
You buy a ThinkPad for its build quality and business add-ons but performance is always key, and it’s up to snuff in this device for high-end productivity users. There are fans on board but they are never all that distracting when you do push this laptop.

Lenovo Yoga Slim 9i (2022)Best lightweight laptopProsGood ultraportable performanceA stunning OLED displayAll-day battery life in some situationsA crisp keyboard inside a good-looking, robust chassisConsCPU doesn’t always run at full speedBetter battery life elsewhereNo full-size USB portsNot always the cheapest optionThe Lenovo Yoga Slim 9i (2022) is one of the best-looking ultraportable laptops around. Not only that, but it has a stunning OLED screen, decent battery life and packs plenty of power.
The Yoga Slim 9i, as its name suggests, has a slim glass and aluminium design with a high-quality keyboard and a smooth trackpad. There’s also a sharp 1080p webcam with Windows Hello facial recognition, three Thunderbolt 4 ports and a headphone jack.
The 14-inch OLED touchscreen produces incredible colours and pin-sharp detail across its 16:10 aspect ratio with great vibrancy, punch and depth. This is one of the best screens we’ve tested across many laptops, exceeding the MacBook Air M2 in resolution and colour handling, and matching the Dell XPS 13 Plus’ OLED screen.
When it comes to performance, the Yoga Slim 9i is powered by the Intel Core i7-1280P with integrated graphics, 16GB of dual-channel DDR5 memory and a 1TB SSD. The laptop also showed similar results to the Dell XPS in Geekbench single and multi-core benchmarks and in PCMark 10 while in Adaptive Performance mode and outperformed the MacBook in Extreme Performance mode.
The Yoga Slim 9i can run for a full day with Adaptive Performance mode on, the screen brightness reduced and Battery Saver mode on. Put it through more intensive use and it’ll last about 7 hours. This isn’t a bad result for an OLED laptop, but non-OLED rivals will almost certainly last you longer on one charge.
This isn’t the cheapest laptop around and the battery life could be better, but for those searching for a good-looking and powerful laptop, the Yoga Slim 9i won’t disappoint.

Lenovo Yoga 6Best 2-in-1 laptopProsDecent keyboard with more travel than manyLong battery lifeGood CPU performanceConsIntel laptops are better for gamingPlastic lower shellScreen isn’t particularly brightZero-bass speakersFor those after a 2-in-1 offering, the Lenovo Yoga 6 should certainly serve you well. It features a 360-degree screen hinge, and we found it to be sturdy with no unnecessary wobbling. In addition, its fabric and plastic construction looks great.
The 13.3-inch FHD display looks to offer some brilliant contrast. It isn’t the brightest screen, so you may be better off using it indoors. The bezels here look to be nice and thin around the edges, which helps along with the Yoga 6’s modern aesthetics, and at 1.3kg, this isn’t too heavy of a laptop. We found that this made it nicely portable, lending this to also be one of the best student laptops.
Inside, the Yoga 6 is powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 5700U processor, which offers up some smashing performance, especially in multi-core areas, offering up better benchmark results than more expensive ultrabooks such as the Dell XPS 13 OLED. Its integrated graphics will offer you some okay gaming performance, although if gaming is a top priority, then a certified best gaming laptop will serve you better.
When it comes to battery life, the Yoga 6 excels with 14 hours measured in the benchmarks, putting this up there with the very best, and even beating off more premium ultrabooks in the process. It rivals Chromebooks such as the Acer Chromebook Spin 713’s runtime, although this Lenovo laptop has the added functionality of being a Windows laptop with more power behind it.

Lenovo Legion Slim 7 (2022)Best gaming laptopProsReliable 1440p gaming performanceBright and vibrant display with 165Hz refresh rateSuper-speedy SSDSlim designConsOnly mid-range GPUs are availableNo Ethernet port Heavy chargerThe keyboard has good travel and feels nice to use, but the touchpad could be more responsive. With that said, you’ll probably want to use an external mouse for gaming anyway.
The screen is bright and vibrant with a WQXDA resolution and a speedy 165Hz refresh rate. The display does struggle with darker scenes, but colours are wonderfully punchy and the laptop can comfortably be used outdoors even on brighter days.
The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 (2022) is a slender gaming laptop with a large high-resolution display and enough power to run modern games.
The Legion Slim 7 has a sleek design for a gaming laptop, weighing just over 2kg. The build is sturdy and there’s a good array of ports including three USB 3.0 charging ports, one HDMI port on the back of the laptop and two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports, a 3.5mm jack, a DisplayPort and a button to turn the camera on and off along the side.
The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 offers good performance, while the Intel Core 12700H is more than capable of powering gaming sessions, along with any day-to-day work you might want to use this laptop for. There’s also a 1TB SSD with read and write speeds double that of most gaming laptops for fast loading times.
The CPU is outperformed by both the Razer Blade 17 (2022) and the Asus ROG Flow X16 (2022), but both of these laptops have a much higher price tag.
The battery life is impressive for a gaming laptop, but we would still recommend keeping the Legion Slim 7 plugged in during gaming sessions. The charger is also very heavy, hindering the laptop’s portability in this respect.
Still, the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 remains a slim and reliable gaming laptop with a speedy SSD and a vibrant display.
