When $6 billion of unfrozen Iranian funds are wired to banks in Qatar as early as next week, it will trigger a carefully choreographed sequence that will see as many as five detained U.S. dual nationals leave Iran and a similar number of Iranian prisoners held in the U.S. fly home, according to eight Iranian and other sources familiar with the negotiations who spoke to Reuters.
As a first step, Iran on Aug. 10 released four U.S. citizens from Tehran’s Evin prison into house arrest, where they joined a fifth, who was already under house arrest. Later that day U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken called the move the first step of a process that would lead to their return home.

Unvaccinated, Non-Compliant Novak Djokovic Wins His 24th Grand Slam Title at U.S. Open (VIDEO) | The Gateway Pundit

In a stunning display of talent and tenacity, Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic (36) claimed his 24th Grand Slam title on Sunday, defeating Russian player Daniil Medvedev in a dramatic U.S. Open men’s singles final.
Even though the match was decided in straight sets, Djokovic beat Medvedev 6-3, 7-6 (5), 6-3 on Sunday night at Flushing Meadows Park in New York City.
Djokovic’s victory over Medvedev is not just another Grand Slam win; it is a historic achievement. By claiming his 24th Grand Slam title, Djokovic surpasses the previous record held by Serena Williams, solidifying his status as one of the greatest tennis players of all time. This milestone is even more significant considering that Djokovic achieved it in the Open era, which began in 1968.
“To make the history of this sport is something truly remarkable and special,” Djokovic said during the trophy ceremony. “I never imagined that I would be here talking about 24 Slams. I never thought that would be the reality, but the last couple of years I felt I have a chance, I have a shot at history—and why not grab it if it’s presented.”
“It obviously means the world to me,” he added.

In a roller-coaster match, Djokovic went from clinical to clinging on as he battled through fatigue and saved a set point in a 104-minute second set. After fighting off Medvedev’s first two break points of the match, Djokovic brought his very best in the tiebreak—in which he lost three lung-busting, extended rallies but won a fourth to spark the three-point run that snatched the set.
There was an entirely different feel in set three, as Djokovic emerged fresher with the title in sight. He broke in consecutive return games—either side of Medvedev’s first break of the match—and clinched his fourth US Open crown soon after.
While Medvedev did not have the elite serving day that helped him beat Carlos Alcaraz in the semis, the third seed was once again brilliant from the baseline, constantly testing Djokovic with incredible depth and persistent power. Still, Djokovic remained in control for the first set-and-a-half, expertly redirecting Medvedev’s best attacks and working the sidelines to great effect.
The Serb did not face a break point until he fought off one at 3-4 and another at 5-6 in the second set. Late in the frame and in the crucial tiebreak, Medvedev took some pace of his strokes in an apparent effort to attack Djokovic’s legs. The tactic worked as he won three rallies of 17 balls or more in the breaker, but Djokovic won a 21-ball exchange to level at 5-5 before a big serve and a Medvedev backhand error ended the set.
Despite his phyiscal struggles, including repeated stumbles after misses and stretching in between points, Djokovic still managed to hang with Medvedev blow for blow. Some of the highest-stakes points of the match were also some of the highest-quality exchanges, with both players pumping up the Ashe crowd as they took turns winning thrilling all-court rallies.
The third set flashed by in 45 minutes, less than half the time of the second frame, with Djokovic winning two more lengthy rallies in the final game as a final stamp of authority.
Rather than relying on his renowned baseline play throughout the match, Djokovic repeatedly attacked the net to counter Medvedev’s deep returning position, winning 20 of 22 serve-and-volley points and 37 of 44 net points in total.

The win is especially notable as Djokovic has been a key figure off the court for his refusal to get vaccinated against COVID-19 and his non-compliance with some of the unconstitutional protocols that have been put in place by sports authorities and governments.
In 2022, the tennis superstar was barred from entering the United States for refusing to comply to get vaccinated. The World No.1 tennis champion announced that he could not compete at the U.S. Open in California and Florida because the Biden regime would not allow him to travel to the United States due to his vaccination status.
The US Tennis Association (USTA) announced that Novak Djokovic would not be allowed to compete because the organization would adhere to the guidelines set forth by the US government on the COVID-19 vaccine.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the organization stated, “The US Open does not have a vaccination mandate in place for players, but it will respect the U.S. government’s position regarding travel into the country for unvaccinated non-U.S. citizens.”
According to CDC, “noncitizens who are nonimmigrants and seeking to enter the United States by air are required to show proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before boarding a flight to the United States from a foreign country.”
“If you are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19, you will NOT be allowed to board a flight to the United States, unless you meet the criteria for an exception under the Proclamation and CDC’s Amended Order. A booster dose is not needed to meet this requirement,” the agency continued.
Djokovic criticized the US policy and the organization’s decision to ban unvaccinated players, calling it a “political” decision.
“No unvaccinated people can enter the USA as of this moment. I did hear unofficially that some people got away with it, some people who are not ‘famous’, but I would never even try to go to the USA if it is not allowed,” Express reported.
“What he said makes total sense – if unvaccinated players are not allowed to compete at the US Open, then it should be the case for everyone.
“I don’t see the medical logic behind it, that Tennys can play because he is a citizen of the USA, and I cannot. If I had a US passport or a green card, I would be able to play.
“Maybe there is a political logic behind it – not medical – but I would rather not get into that and you can understand why,” Djokovic said.
According to the US Open, “Following his victory in his record 36th major singles final, Djokovic is now the first man to win three Grand Slams singles titles in a season four times (2011, 2015, 2021, 2023). That number of finals also matches the Serb’s age; at 36, he is the oldest US Open men’s singles champion in the Open Era. He is 12-3 in Grand Slam finals in his 30s, bettering a 12-9 mark his 20s.”

New Mexico State Reps Call for Impeachment of Governor Grisham After She Unilaterlly Suspends Second Amendment Rights in Albuquerque | The Gateway Pundit
New Mexico state lawmakers immediately sprung into action and called for the impeachment of Democrat Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham after she unilaterally suspended Second Amendment rights in Albuquerque.
Democrat Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham on Friday declared gun violence a public health emergency in response to the shooting deaths of a thirteen-year-old girl on July 28, a five-year-old girl on August 14, and an eleven-year-old boy on September 6.
“The action plan includes a suspension of open and concealed carry laws in Bernalillo County, temporarily prohibiting the carrying of guns on public property with certain exceptions. Exceptions include for licensed security guards and law enforcement officers. Citizens with permits to carry firearms are free to possess their weapons on private property (such as at a gun range or gun store), provided they transport the firearm in a locked box, use a trigger lock, or some other mechanism that renders the gun incapable of being fired,” according to the press release.
The public health order also directs:
The Regulation and Licensing Division to conduct monthly inspections of licensed firearm dealers to ensure compliance with all sales and storage laws.The Department of Health, along with the Environment Department, to begin wastewater testing for illegal substances such as fentanyl at schools.The Department of Health to compile and issue a comprehensive report on gunshot victims presenting at hospitals in New Mexico, which shall include (if available): demographic data of gunshot victims, including age, gender, race, and ethnicity; data on gunshot victim’s healthcare outcomes; the brand and caliber of the firearm used; the general circumstances leading to the injury; the impact of gunshot victims on New Mexico’s healthcare system; and any other pertinent information.A prohibition on firearms on state property, including state buildings and schools. This also includes other places of education where children gather, such as parks.The State Police to add officers in Albuquerque with funding for overtime provided.The Children, Youth and Families Department to immediately suspend the Juvenile Detention Alternative Initiative and evaluate juvenile probation protocols.“No constitutional right, in my view, including my oath, is intended to be absolute,” Grisham said in a chilling statement during a news conference.
Even worse, Grisham admitted she is openly violating the US Constitution: “There will be a legal challenge and I can’t tell you that we win it,” she said.
In response to the unconstitutional order Sheriff John Allen from Bernalillo County north of Albuquerque announced he would not comply with the unconstitutional order.
On Saturday, State Reps. Stefani Lord and John Block called for the impeachment of Governor Grisham.
“This emergency order violates the Governor’s oath to protect and defend the rights of New Mexicans and is illegal in nature. The legislature has a duty to intervene when the government is overstepping its boundaries, and Governor Grisham’s order and comments disqualify her from continuing her tenure as Governor,” the Reps wrote in a press release.
“I’m calling on counsel to begin the impeachment process against Governor Grisham,” Rep. Lord said. “This is an abhorrent attempt at imposing a radical, progressive agenda on an unwilling populous. Rather than addressing crime at its core, Governor Grisham is restricting the rights of law-abiding gun owners.”

Sonos launches new speaker, and Google ruins the Pixel surprise
September is hotting up to be the busiest month in the tech world so far this year.
Apple has confirmed it will be hosting its annual iPhone event this Tuesday, while in the following week Microsoft looks set to launch a new lineup of laptops and Amazon gears up to unveil new smart home gadgets.
With so many big tech events on the horizon, this week has been fairly sparse on big news. But that hasn’t stopped us crowning the winners and losers of the tech world this week.
Winner: SonosFew tech companies have the same level of consistency as speaker-designer Sonos, as it’s launched banger after banger over the years.
This week, Sonos announced a new speaker called the Move 2. This is a portable speaker that can play tunes outdoors without fear of going kaput from the odd tumble.
We were big fans of the original, awarding it a 4.5 out of 5 rating in our review. Sonos has seemingly made the on-the-go speaker even better, with the company claiming to have upgraded the battery life from 11 hours to a remarkable 24 hours, allowing you to literally party all day.
Image credit: The VergeOther improvements include the addition of a USB-C line-in to charge your phone, new touch controls and boosted connectivity with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0. Sonos has upped the price of the Move 2 by £50/$50 to reflect these features, however.
We’ll have to wait until we’re able to test the Sonos Move 2 before being able to recommend it, but it’s still great to see Sonos being proactive in upgrading its range of excellent speakers.
Loser: GoogleGoogle may be one of the richest tech companies in the world, but it still hasn’t cracked the art of secrecy.
Last week, Google accidentally posted a photo of the upcoming Pixel 8 Pro on its official website before the phone had been officially announced. And then earlier this week, we reported that Google had added 3D renders of the Pixel 8 Pro to its own Pixel Simulator site, allowing the public to see every single angle of the unannounced phone.
Google has since scrambled to regain control of the narrative, officially providing a sneak peek of the Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro and Pixel Watch 2 a month before the official launch event. This was a great move to steal attention away from the leakers, but in turn, has ruined the surprise of the October event.
Launch events are becoming more of a fanfare spectacle by the year in the tech industry, with Apple setting the tempo and having millions of people tune in to get their first glimpse of the next iPhone. This is a great way to build hype for a new product ahead of the pre-order window.
With Google confirming that it will be hosting its own event in October, it looks like the company wants to replicate Apple’s hype model. However, major leaks will undermine these events, with most of the phone’s features and specs already available to the public.
This isn’t the first time Google has ruined the surprise of an upcoming Pixel phone. It seems to be becoming a yearly habit, which will no doubt frustrate Pixel fans looking forward to the launch event. If Google wants its yearly Pixel events to get the same stature as Apple’s iPhone showcase, it’s going to need to plug up those leaks.

Biden Accused of ‘Mosaic’ Plagiarism After Editor Noticed Oddly Familiar Phrases In Paper | The Gateway Pundit
A former editor of the Harvard Journal on Legislation has raised “shocking” allegations of plagiarism against President Joe Biden, claiming that he discovered instances of unattributed copying in an essay written by the then-Delaware senator more than two decades ago.
The accusations center around an essay defending the Violence Against Women Act, which Biden penned in 2000 during his tenure as a senator.
Roger Severino, who now serves as the vice president of domestic policy at The Heritage Foundation, took to social media to detail his findings, igniting a fresh controversy.
“My first assignment as a junior editor at the Harvard Journal on Legislation (1999-2000) was to cite check an article submitted by one Sen. Joseph R. Biden. I was shocked by the plagiarism I discovered,” Severino posted on X, the site formerly known as Twitter.
Highlighting specific phrases that had raised his suspicions, Severino said in an interview with Fox News host Jesse Watters, “Words like ‘herald of a new era’ tipped me off. Like, ‘Whoa, whoa, whoa, I’ve heard this before.’”

Severino’s accusations come on the heels of a broader examination of Biden’s veracity by Glenn Kessler of The Washington Post, who has scrutinized the president’s tendency to embellish facts.
Addressing this pattern, Severino stated, “He tends to embellish, and he tends to lie, and as your segment showed, he has decades of history doing this.”
The crux of Severino’s allegations centers on Biden’s purported failure to properly credit Federal Judge Diana Gribbon Motz’s dissenting opinion in the case of Brzonkala v. Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 1999, New York Post reported.
In that case, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals declared a portion of the 1994 law as unconstitutional.
Severino contended that the published version of Biden’s essay included several citations from Motz’s opinion, but the attributions were reportedly inserted by journal editors who, in Severino’s view, were covering for Biden.
Severino alleged, “He had lifted language straight out of a SCOTUS opinion, changed a couple words, and called them his own. There were no quote marks and no footnote or anything else attributing the court as the source.”

He went on to assert that Biden had engaged in a form of plagiarism known as “mosaic plagiarism,” where a writer modifies a few words in a quote to make the act harder to detect. Severino interpreted this as an indication of “consciousness of guilt.”
Severino claimed to have brought the plagiarism concerns to the executive editor of the journal, recommending that they reject Biden’s article.
However, according to Severino, the editors decided to address the issue by adding proper attributions, effectively “fixing” the plagiarism. Severino said they acted as if the incident had never occurred.
In response to Severino’s allegations, White House spokeswoman Olivia Dalton vehemently denied the claims, stating, “The final article has appropriate citations, and that fact is not in dispute. So I’m not about to further dignify ridiculous attacks on the president from decades ago.”
The Harvard Journal of Legislation has not issued a statement regarding the matter, according to the New York Post.

Severino said he decided to come forward with these allegations from more than 20 years ago because Biden has “been doing this for decades, and the American people have to know.”
“He’s never owned up to his plagiarism scandals and his constant embellishments,” he added.
Biden has faced past accusations of plagiarism, notably during his first presidential campaign in 1988, when he was found to have lifted quotes from then-British Labour Party leader Neil Kinnock, misrepresenting his family’s history.
Kinnock, who has since moved past the plagiarism controversy, supported Biden wholeheartedly in the 2020 presidential election, stating, “Joe’s an honest guy,” the The Guardian reported.

Anyone Who Complies with Illegal, Unconstitutional Edicts Like the One Just Announced by New Mexico’s Governor is Complicit in America’s Slide Into Totalitarianism | The Gateway Pundit

This is a crucial test being launched by the globalists to see if law-abiding Americans will hand over their Second Amendment rights by complying with an extra-constitutional edict based, not on American law, but on United Nations law.
New Mexico’s Democrat Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham issued an “emergency” executive order on Friday suspending the right of law-abiding citizens to open carry and conceal carry any firearms in the crime-ridden Democrat-run city of Albuquerque.
The totally unconstitutional edict also applies to the surrounding county for a period at least 30 days, after Grisham declared a “public health emergency” in response to a spate of recent gun violence.
One sheriff of a county north of the city has already told Governor Grisham to go pound sand.
Sorry, governor, but you are not allowed, no politician is allowed, to “suspend” the Constitution.
Grisham told the Associated Press that she expects challenges, but was “compelled to act” following a spate of recent shootings.
I can promise her that the criminals responsible for the shootings will not be the ones obeying her order. But let’s be real. That’s not why she took this unprecedented step.
This is a major test for we the people. If the people of New Mexico obey this unlawful act by their governor, we are doomed as a country. It will spread to every Democrat city in America, which includes just about every major city of 100,000 or more population.
This governor is being used to test the waters. How much do Americans really value their Second Amendment rights? Whether she knows it or not, it’s obvious by the language she has used who she is working for.
By using the term “public health emergency,” this radical New Mexico governor is testing out a policy straight from the United Nations World Health Organization.
The World Health Organization’s proposed pandemic treaty (some call it an accord or “instrument”), as well as the amendments to the International Health Regulations that will be up for a vote at the World Health Assembly in Geneva next May, include the exact same language. The U.S., E.U., U.N. and most nations are on board with changes that will give the decision-making power to declare a “public health emergency of international concern” or of “regional concern” to the WHO. Right now, only sovereign national governments can declare such an emergency, not the WHO.
I’ve argued before that part of the reason for the vague language, “public health emergency,” is so that they can claim “gun violence” is a dire emergency affecting the public health and thereby suspend all private gun ownership rights under the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution or any other law anywhere in the world.
This is the back door through which gun rights get demolished in countries where they haven’t already been cast aside.
So to see a governor of an American state using this language to suspend the Second Amendment is frightening. If she is allowed to get away with this, mark my words, you will see similar declarations in other cities and perhaps entire states.

Greg Gutfeld Defends Jimmy Fallon From the Cancel Culture Mob in EPIC Rant (VIDEO) | The Gateway Pundit
During ‘The Five’ on FOX News on Friday, Greg Gutfeld went on a suprisingly long and expletive filled rant defending late night host and competitor Jimmy Fallon who has come under fire from staffers making allegations about the environment at Fallon’s show.
Apparently, the two have met and Gutfeld found Fallon to be a funny and friendly guy.
Greg’s rant included lots of advice for Fallon, mainly that he should stop apologizing to the mob. Greg said:
“Well this is going to take a while so forgive me Jimmy if you are watching or you have a friend that’s watching. I hope your friend records this and gets this segment to you because no one is going to say this to you. Not your agent who depends on your your paycheck. Not your phony publicist who depends on your paycheck, and not your shrink who depends on your paycheck. But I will because I don’t care.
They’re trying to Ellen DeGeneres you and they’re sad cowards and shitbags because they don’t like people like you. He’s actually a really nice guy, I don’t know if you’ve ever met him. I’m jealous of the guy the guy is so freaking talented. The guy can sing he can dance, he’s he’s funny he’s sweet, I’ve met him at bars he’s he’s a gentle sweet person. He’s great at everything but hiding his own shit and that’s the problem here.
If the drinking story is true that’s sad. If the drinking story isn’t true that’s evil, because he’s being targeted for fake and possibly real reasons to get him fired. Again he’s being Ellened, but the most important thing is, dude, you gotta stop with the apologizing. You are apologizing all the time and you’re apologizing to the people who will never forgive you. None of those people like you. You apologize to your family, you apologize to your friends you apologize to the people you did wrong, but you don’t apologize because your damn PR person told you to.
You don’t apologize because your publicist thinks it’s going to save your job, they want to take your job! How dare you apologize to Anonymous people Anonymous people who go to Rolling Stone, a sham of a scuzzy little magazine. Two words. Duke lacrosse. They have no respect. That was a phony article. Anonymous snakes coming after you and you have to be compelled to apologize to these damn losers. That is not right.”

Did you ever in a million years think you would see the day when Rep. Ted Lieu of California would call out a fellow Democrat for going too far on gun control?
New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham is already facing calls for her impeachment over her outrageous and illegal plans, but even more shocking is that she is getting called out by people of the left like Lieu.
If you’re a Democrat and Ted Lieu says you’ve gone too far, you know you’ve messed up.

I support gun safety laws. However, this order from the Governor of New Mexico violates the U.S. Constitution. No state in the union can suspend the federal Constitution. There is no such thing as a state public health emergency exception to the U.S. Constitution.
