Tucker Carlson recently gave a speech at an event for Brighter Michigan PAC.

He spoke about how the truth has been turned on its head and that our leaders lie to us all the time while accusing others of being liars.

He talked about how insane it is that some people are being sent to prison for the mere crime of saying the last election was rigged.

TUCKER CARLSON: If you want to know, and I am being completely sincere, what’s true, the true things are the things that you can’t say. I cannot remember the last time that someone in public life was prosecuted or even criticized for lying. If lying was a crime your governor would be in Supermax for life. If being incompetent was a felony, she’d be on death row. Banning paint sales during COVID? It’s unbelievable. But there is no penalty for lying, there is no penalty for incompetence.

So what do we penalize every society penalizes something. There’s a death penalty offense in every society for the beginning of time. What’s ours? It’s telling the truth.

If you tell the truth, the real truth, the no BS truth, like what’s actually going on here? Is this actually working? And no, it’s not why isn’t it working? If you were to be honest about that, you’re done.

So you have to ask yourself, like, what does it say about a society where the only penalty is for noting what’s true? It says something pretty bad about that society. Do you want to live in a place where lying is mandatory? No.

It’s a third world country, as someone just said, literally, two days ago, I was in downtown Buenos Aires. And I said to somebody, the economy has completely collapsed, they have hyperinflation. And they said, what’s the exchange rate on the peso, the Argentine peso to the US dollar? And they’re like, well, the government claims it’s 350 pesos to the dollar. But actually, it’s over 700. I was like, so the government lies about what the value of its own currencies are. Absolutely. I was like, that’s crazy. And by the way to pay for lunch, it takes a stack of pesos the size of a cinderblock. You need a backpack, just buy a pack of cigarettes. It’s unbelievable. But I was like, I can’t believe the government lies about the value of its own currency. And I was like, Oh, wait.

So oh, how can you say the last election was rigged? Well, when the country’s largest law enforcement organization, the FBI actively works on behalf of one political party. And when its largest intelligence gathering agency, the CIA does the same. It’s a little bit like what’s happening in Michigan, when federal employees paid for by the tax dollars of every one, take an aggressive position on the side of one political party, you can’t have a fair election, because you’re using public money to put your thumb on the scale on behalf of a partisan cause. It is totally immoral.

“There is No American Tradition of Limiting Ammunition Capacity” – Federal Judge Strikes Down California’s Ban on High-Capacity Magazines | The Gateway Pundit

A federal judge on Friday struck down California’s ban on high-capacity gun magazines.

US District Judge Roger Benitez, a George W. Bush appointee, in his ruling said, “there is no American tradition of limiting ammunition capacity.” The judge said detachable magazines “solved a problem with historic firearms: running out of ammunition and having to slowly reload a gun.”

“There have been, and there will be, times where many more than 10 rounds are needed to stop attackers,” Benitez wrote, according to CBS News. “Yet, under this statute, the State says ‘too bad.’”

The judge is absolutely correct.

California’s radical far-left Attorney General Rob Bonta immediately filed an appeal, however, the judge’s ban will remain in effect while the case is making its way through the legal system.

“We believe that the district court got this wrong,” Bonta said. “We will move quickly to correct this incredibly dangerous mistake.”

California cannot ban gun owners from having detachable magazines that hold more than 10 rounds, a federal judge ruled Friday.

The decision from U.S. District Judge Roger Benitez won’t take effect immediately. California Attorney General Rob Bonta, a Democrat, has already filed a notice to appeal the ruling. The ban is likely to remain in effect while the case is still pending.

This is the second time Benitez has struck down California’s law banning certain types of magazines. The first time he struck it down — way back in 2017 — an appeals court ended up reversing his decision.

But last year, the U.S. Supreme Court set a new standard for how to interpret the nation’s gun laws. The new standard relies more on the historical tradition of gun regulation rather than public interests, including safety.

The Supreme Court ordered the case to be heard again in light of the new standards. It’s one of three high-profile challenges to California gun laws that are getting new hearings in court. The other two cases challenge California laws banning assault-style weapons and limiting purchases of ammunition.

Joe Biden on Friday delivered remarks on ‘gun safety’ from the Rose Garden. Kamala Harris joined Biden as they announced a new office on gun violence prevention.

Biden continued his war on the Second Amendment on Thursday.

“I was the guy, along with a woman in California, who also, we once banned assault weapons and multiple magazines,” Biden said.

“It’s time to again ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. If you need 80 shots in a magazine, you shouldn’t own a gun!” Biden said.

Vegas Teens Who Mowed Down Biking Police Chief Tried to Kill Another Cyclist in 2-Hour Crime Spree | The Gateway Pundit

The Vegas teens who callously mowed down a biking retired police chief tried to kill another cyclist that same day, according to 8 News Now.

As previously reported, Jesus Ayala, who just turned 18, is facing murder charges after he fatally struck 64-year-old retired police chief Andreas Probst. On August 14th, two teens allegedly stole a Hyundai, took the vehicle on a hit-and-run crime spree, and recorded it with a phone.

On August 29th, Las Vegas Police Detectives found the phone recording on social media and determined it was intentional.

A video posted to social media shows the phone recording from inside the stolen car as Ayala, who was 17 at the time, intentionally commits a hit-and-run. Ayala shouts expletives out the window after he randomly hits a car. After the hit-and-run, Ayala and Keys saw a bicyclist up ahead and went for it.

Ayala intentionally swerved the car and hit the bicyclist. 64-year-old Andreas Probst was hit at a high speed and flew over the car. The impact broke the windshield. “Hit his ass,” the teens said before Probst slammed into the windshield.

Jesus Ayala sped off and left the crash scene. Probst was taken to a nearby hospital and was pronounced dead.

According to 8 News Now, the Vegas teens who mowed down the police chief, stole 3 vehicles and tried to kill a second cyclist all in a 2-hour time span.

The two Las Vegas teenagers accused of intentionally hitting and killing a cyclist allegedly tried to kill a second biker, stole three cars and committed a burglary all in the span of about two hours, sources told the 8 News Now Investigators.

The stolen car that Ayala and Keys allegedly used to murder Probst was found ditched near Craig Road and Jones Boulevard – less than 10 minutes from the crash site, sources told the 8 News Now Investigators.

The stolen vehicle was located with blood on its windshield, sources said.

About a half-hour before Probst’s murder, the teenagers allegedly attempted to hit another bike in the area of Fort Apache and Washburn roads, police said.

In the hours after Probst’s death, the teenagers allegedly stole two more cars in the area of Lake Mead Boulevard and Torrey Pines Drive, sources said. About an hour after allegedly hitting and killing Probst, the teenagers took the two stolen cars and crashed them into each other near a shopping plaza at Lake Mead and Rainbow boulevards, sources said.

The teenagers then allegedly broke into a garage where they took several items, and returned to the area where Probst was hit and killed in one of the two-crashed stolen cars, sources said.

Ayala bragged to cops he would be out of jail in 30 days shortly after he was arrested for striking Probst. Police had not told him about the hit-and-run charges.

“You think this juvenile [expletive] is gonna do some [expletive]? I’ll be out in 30 days, I’ll bet you,” Jesus Ayala boasted to Las Vegas cops, according to KLAS. “It’s just ah, [expletive] ah, hit-and-run — slap on the wrist.”

Jesus Ayala is being held without bail after being hit with 18 charges including murder, grand larceny, battery with use of a deadly weapon and attempted murder.

Ayala’s passenger, Jzamir Keys, 16, was arrested this week and hit with 3 charges, including a murder charge.

Both teens appeared in court on Thursday and are being charged as adults.

“Both these defendants will be charged with open murder, attempted murder, and many other related charges,” Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson told reporters this week.

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy (D) and top Democrat lawmakers called for embattled NJ Senator Bob Menendez, also a Democrat, to resign over bribery and corruption charges.

Federal prosecutors announced Friday that Democrat U.S. Sen. Bob Menendez of New Jersey, and his wife, have been indicted on charges of bribery and corruption.

Federal prosecutors out of the Southern District of New York obtained a 3-count indictment against Bob Menendez and his wife Nadine Menendez.

Fred Daibes, a real estate developer, New Jersey businessman Wael Hana and Joseph Uribe were also charged.

“The Senator and his wife accepted hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes….. cash, gold, home mortgage payments, jobs, cars, and other things of value” in exchange for “using his power and influence to protect and enrich [New Jersey] businessmen and to benefit the government of Egypt,” US Attorney for the Southern District of New York Damian Williams said.

Nadine Menendez was given a “no-show” or “low-show” job, a Mercedes Benz and other things of value, Damian Williams said.

Special agents discovered $500,000 of cash stuffed into envelopes in closets. “Some of the cash was stuffed in the Senator’s jacket pockets. Some of the envelopes of cash contained Daibes’ fingerprints and Daibes’ DNA,” Williams said at a press conference on Friday.

Menendez will be stepping down as chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, however, this is not enough for top New Jersey Democrats.

Top New Jersey Democrats are calling for Menendez to resign as Senator.

“These are serious charges that implicate national security and the integrity of our criminal justice system. Under our legal system, Senator Menendez and the other defendants have not been found guilty and will have the ability to present evidence disputing these charges, and we must respect the process,” Gov. Murphy said in a statement on Friday.

“However, the alleged facts are so serious that they compromise the ability of Senator Menendez to effectively represent the people of our state. Therefore, I am calling for his immediate resignation,” Murphy added.

Democrat Rep. Mikie Sherrill said it is in the best interest of the state of New Jersey that Menendez resign.

These are serious allegations against Senator Menendez and if proven true, there is no room for this kind of conduct in public service.

New Jersey Democrats including Gov. Phil Murphy are calling on Bob Menendez to resign after the Democratic senator was charged Friday with accepting bribes to wield his power and influence.

Murphy called the allegations against Menendez, the state’s senior senator, “deeply disturbing.”

Rep. Andy Kim, D-N.J., also called on Menendez to step down, saying he lacked “confidence that the Senator has the ability to properly focus on our state and its people while addressing such a significant legal matter.”

Kim’s statement was first reported by the New Jersey Globe.

Rep. Mikie Sherrill, D-N.J., said in a tweet that it would be “in the best interest of our state that Senator Menendez resign.”

Kim was the second Democrat on Capitol Hill to call for Menendez to step down amid the allegations.

In a CNN interview, Rep. Dean Phillips, D-Minn., said that regardless of political party, a member of Congress who appears to have broken the law should resign, when asked whether Menendez should resign from the Senate.

Bob Menendez responded to calls for his resignation Friday evening.

You don’t buy an iPhone to get an iPhone

OPINION: People don’t buy an iPhone for the hardware, they buy it for the software, and yesterday’s release of the iPhone 15 drills this fact home. 

That might seem like an odd statement to make, but it starts to make sense when you take a closer look at the hardware Apple has been putting out for the past couple of years. The iPhone 15 isn’t that different from the iPhone 14, which in turn was pretty similar to the iPhone 13, which was an update to the design first introduced on the iPhone 12. 

That’s a roundabout way of saying that Apple has been recycling the same design since 2020, only making smaller changes – like this year’s rounded edges – to hardware as each new generation of iPhone appears.

Despite these small tweaks, the iPhone remains one of the most popular smartphones for consumers in 2023 with over 16.5 million sales of the base-level iPhone 14 in the past year, and it’s very much expected that the iPhone 15 will match that over the following year. 

That doesn’t make a lot of sense on the surface, especially when you compare the iPhone 15 to similarly priced Android smartphones. 

The £799 iPhone 15 is actually more expensive than the £729 OnePlus 11, and while the OnePlus easily has the upper hand in hardware with a super-smooth 6.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, 50MP main, 48MP ultrawide and 32MP 2x telephoto cameras, a larger 5,000mAh battery and super fast 100W charging capabilities, people will disregard the OnePlus 11 and a plethora of other impressively capable Android phones for the iPhone 15.

That’s down to the fact that people don’t really care about iPhone hardware – it’s continued access to the latest versions of iOS that draws people in. 

Anecdotally, I hear this a lot. My job as Mobile Editor means I get to use all manner of smartphones, from top-end Androids to the latest foldable smartphones. This means that my friends and family have ample exposure to top-end Android hardware and just how impressive it is, whether it’s the camera prowess of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra or the way that you can fold the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra down to half its size. When sporting these phones, I almost always hear something along the lines of “I’d love to get that but I can’t deal with Android” or “I wish that could run iOS”, and I understand where they’re coming from.

Apple’s iOS has always held a rather polished experience, from the sleek UI that just seems to make sense to the minor tweaks that iOS deploys to improve the everyday experience of its users. These instances come in many forms, from automatically copying verification codes from SMS and emails, to the easy-to-navigate Settings app and the intuitive gestures that help you navigate the OS. 

There’s also the broader appeal of how well iOS works with other Apple products, with intensely tight integration with AirPods, Apple Watch, Apple TV, iPad and Mac that is unmatched by the Android competition.

Above it all however, the most appealing aspect of iOS is how well-supported it is in terms of updates. The iPhone XR, a smartphone that was released in 2018 with iOS 12, has just got the upgrade to iOS 17 with access to the same software features as the iPhone 15. What’s more, the release is consistent with the reveal in June and general release in September, regardless of which supported iPhone you have. 

This is essentially non-existent on the Android side of things. Sure, long-term support has got much better in the past few years with the likes of Samsung offering four OS upgrades and five years of security patches, but it falls short of what you’ll get with an equivalent iPhone and crucially, the release schedule for subsequent Android OS upgrades is messy to say the least.

The new Android OS tends to get announced in May, ahead of the iOS update, yet iPhones will get the new update first. Android updates, on the other hand, vary not only between manufacturers but also what phone you have, with most prioritising those OS upgrades for newer phones as older handsets have longer to wait – sometimes until the following year.

There’s also the fact that Android can be a confusing beast, especially if you’re used to the unified experience of iOS. The look and feel of Android software doesn’t just depend on what version of Android you’re running, but the Android skin that the phone’s manufacturer uses. 

This can significantly change not only the feature set available but the way the OS looks, making it a rather daunting challenge to move from one Android manufacturer to another, let alone making the jump from iOS. 

It’s issues like this that stop iOS users from seeking out what Android has to offer, and it’s why the iPhone will continue to be a top-seller despite the fact that it falls behind the equivalent Android competition in terms of pure hardware, and it’s not something I can see changing any time soon.

Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. Biden spoke as a new surge of migrants is pouring across the U.S. southern border.

Biden boasted about all the steps he has taken to increase legal immigration and work permits and then said, “I’ve also directed my team to make a historic increase in the number of refugees admitted from Latin America — (applause) — people fleeing violence and persecution who simply want their kids to have a better life.”

The Biden administration did a classic Friday dump of damaging statistics, this time involving record numbers of illegal alien encounters in a month set last August: 304,162.

In August, 304,162 people were apprehended by Border Patrol while crossing the border illegally, were deemed inadmissible by customs officers at ports of entry, or used new Biden initiatives to bypass the border and fly under the umbrella of temporary parole, according to data published by U.S. Customs and Border Protection on Friday.

…At the southern border, 181,059 immigrants were arrested after walking around the ports of entry and crossing into the U.S. Approximately 74,000 of that number were single adults, 19,000 arrived with a family member, and 13,500 were unaccompanied children.

Customs officers at the southern border ports encountered 51,913 people who did not have documents to enter but may have claimed asylum.

Another approximately 20,000 immigrants were arrested on the northern border or deemed inadmissible at air, land, and sea ports up north.

The remaining 50,000-person difference is not specifically broken on CBP’s website but accounts for immigrants outside the U.S. who were granted humanitarian parole and allowed to fly into the country.

Today, CBP released August 2023 statistics for its primary mission areas related to protecting the American people, safeguarding our borders, and enhancing the nation’s economic prosperity.

No one has heard much from Ivanka Trump lately but she has apparently been busy. She recently traveled to Maui to help distribute food to victims of the fire there.

She made the trip quietly and not for the sake of a photo-op.

It’s nice to hear some reportage about Maui. The story disappeared from the headlines so quickly and for obvious reasons. There was no Republican to blame for the fire.

The former first daughter joined CityServe International on a humanitarian mission where they distributed 250,000 prepackaged meals for displaced families impacted by the biggest wildfire in U.S. history.

They visited a Lahaina church that is acting as a food pantry and met with residents who are working to rebuild their lives.

Dressed in a blank tank top and green cargo pants, Trump wore a name tag that read ‘Iva’ as she distributed fresh produce locally grown in Maui.

During her visit Ivanka Trump passed out fresh vegetables, delivered prepacked supplies and posed for photos.

‘Her humble presence lifted spirits and reminded the people of Lahaina that they are not forgotten,’ CityServe said in a statement.

It’s great that she did this.
