‘Abysmal’: Blue-city Democrat is mad that program helps white people

Democratic New York City Council Member Julie Won expressed frustration on Tuesday over white women benefiting from the Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprise (M/WBE) Certification Program.
The program assists minorities and/or women entrepreneurs “access government contracts” and expand their business, according to the city government’s website. Won pressed First Deputy Chief Business Diversity Officer Dwight Flynn during a hearing to increase the certifications for minorities.
WATCH:
“So for the total certified firms, you’re saying that we certified 11,382 [as of the end of 2025] … that already is too little. 11,382 firms for the city of New York that has $118 billion budget. 30% of that is going to contracting,” Won said. “That is an abysmal amount of money that is being — our taxpayer dollars go straight back into the hands of white people.”
“We’re going to have to get certifications up for all of the M/WBEs, but especially for looking at your breakdown of certified firms, there’s more non-minority, so white women-owned firms, 26%, than Asian-owned and Hispanic-owned and Native American-owned that are certified,” she added. “So, you’re going to have to get the certification numbers up so that we actually have people of color who are also certified, not just white women.”
New York City Council Member Julie WonThe M/WBE certification increases business’ visibility to buyers, such as city agencies and private contractors seeking to buy goods and services, according to the website. Businesses also get included in the NYC Online Directory of Certified Businesses, which is a public promotional website.
Moreover, certified businesses “gain access to networking events, customized courses and targeted meetings,” according to the website. In order to qualify, a business must be majority-owned, operated and controlled by Americans citizens or permanent residents who are women and/or certain minority groups.

One state working on unique health insurance called ‘BearCare’

Amid the ongoing wars over the failing Obamacare – the stratospheric costs, the huge co-pays, the high deductibles, the general lack of market competition and the huge and invasive government spying on procedures and patients, one state is working on something unique.
BearCare.
At least that’s what officials in Wyoming are calling their plan to provide catastrophic coverage for events like an attack from a bear.
It is the Cowboy State Daily that explained the odds of getting attacked by an angry grizzly, or hit by a bus or some other rare event are low.
But they do happen.
The report cited the problems for Shayne Patrick Burke, 35, who was attacked by an angry momma grizzle in Wyoming’s Grand Teton National Park. On social media he said it was the most violent experience of his life.
The new “BearCare” now is part of a series of proposals from the state department of health turned over to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
The idea comes from people who need the coverage.
“More than 1,300 Wyoming residents responded to an online survey addressing the health care priorities of rural communities,” Cowboy State reported.
And Miranda Hinkle, of the state department, said there were concerns over accessibility, costs and such.
Also, about “BearCare,” which isn’t a replacement for routine health insurance but would kick in for catastrophes, like the one experienced by Burke, or the one for Celia Easton.
She was in elk hunting country when, because of a wet morning, pulled on her “muck” boots.
She saw a mama grizzly charging about three seconds before impact, the report said.
But when the bear chomped on her foot, the boot came off and the bear scampered.
The state plan covers things besides bears, such as “necessary medical services in an episode of care beginning with an emergency anchor event.”
Reports detail provisions of ‘secret’ plan to end Russia-Ukraine war

President Donald Trump speaks to Steve Witkoff during the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2025, at U.N. Headquarters in New York City. (Official White House photo by Daniel Torok)Multiple media reports indicate that a secret plan to end the Russia-Ukraine war has been drafted and just needs to be agreed to by the warring parties.
Steve Witkoff, President Trump’s special envoy, hosted Kirill Dmitriev, an adviser to President Putin, for three days in Florida at the end of October to hammer out a 28-point peace plan.
According to the Financial Times, it demands significant concessions from Ukraine, including recognizing Russian as an official state language and giving up its stockpile of U.S. weapons.
Also part of the still officially secret plan is a requirement that Ukraine half the size of its army and surrenders the Donbas region in the eastern part of the nation.
Ukraine would also grant official status to the local branch of the Russian Orthodox Church, reports the Times of London.
Dmitriev said the Kremlin was likely to accept the plan because “we feel the Russian position is really being heard.” He told Axios, which first reported the proposal: “It’s happening with the background of Russia definitely having additional successes on the battlefield.”
This includes a recent Russian attack on western Ukraine, killing at least 25 people, including children.
The talks between Witkoff and Dmitriev appear to suggest Ukraine and Europe have been frozen out of negotiations. “We don’t really care about the Europeans,” a White House official told Politico. “It’s about Ukraine accepting.”
To that end, U.S. Army Secretary Daniel P. Driscoll arrived in Kiev Wednesday to brief President Zelensky whose administration recently has been rocked by corruption charges.
‘Unintentional comic relief’: Jasmine Crockett delivers ‘disastrously wrong’ sermon in Congress about Epstein

U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-TexasU.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett, the Texas Democrat who is fighting to keep her seat amid a redistricting war in her state, has delivered some apparently unintentional laugh lines in Congress, and to Congress.
She claimed while the House was voting on a censure move against Rep. Stacey Plaskett, D-Virgin Islands, who was revealed to have been texting with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein during a congressional hearing, that a long list of Republicans and GOP groups took money from Epstein.
They did, only the records show the donations were from Dr. Jeffrey Epstein, not the convicted sex criminal who died in a New York jail awaiting further charges.
Crockett: Folks who also took money from somebody named Jeffrey Epstein, as I had my team dig in very quickly, Mitt Romney. The NRCC. Lee Zeldin. George Bush. McCain-Palin. pic.twitter.com/CdwuSacQpb
— Acyn (@Acyn) November 18, 2025
Oof. @JasmineForUS is disastrously wrong here. None of these donors are *the* Jeffrey Epstein. Several are from the same Dr. Jeffrey Epstein, and the donations to Lee Zeldin are from after *the* Epstein killed himself. https://t.co/RES7GyTQMy pic.twitter.com/OSuTywr3D7
— Chuck Ross (@ChuckRossDC) November 19, 2025
Crockett’s comments were described as “disastrously wrong” and social media comments pointed out, “And I once had my house painted by a guy named John Kennedy. What’s her point?”
And there was immediate discussion about “censure” for her.
The Gateway Pundit pointed to Crockett’s “unintentional comic relief” right before the House gave Plaskett a pass for apparently taking direction from and guiding her congressional questioning based on the convicted sex offender Epstein’s texts with her.
Crockett, on the House floor, charged the GOP was exhibiting a double standard.
She claimed, “Folks who also took money from somebody named Jeffrey Epstein, as I had my team dig in very quickly: Mitt Romney. The NRCC. Lee Zeldin. George Bush, WinRed, McCain-Palin, Rick Lazio. I just want to be clear: if this is standard we’re going to make, then we’re just going to expose it all! And the FEC filings are available for everybody to review.”
In fact, it was the Washington Free Beacon’s Chuck Ross who took advantage of those records “available to everybody” and confirmed that the Epstein donations to Republicans were from a different Epstein.
Can’t speak for the others but Lee Zelden has already responded to this. His donor was Dr. Jeffrey Epstein. NOT the same person.

‘He was gonna slice my head off’: 7-Eleven clerk shoots man choking her, now company takes mind-boggling action

Stephanie DilyardA 7-Eleven clerk in Oklahoma who shot an attacker choking her and threatening to kill her in a dispute over counterfeit cash has now found herself out of a job, as the convenience store fired her.
The mayhem erupted Thursday night in Oklahoma City, where Stephanie Dilyard, 25, got into a confrontation with 59-year-old Kenneth Thompson, who allegedly sought to pay with a fake $100 bill.
“He threatened me, and said he was gonna slice my head off, and that’s when I tried to call the police,” Dillard told KOKH-TV.
“He started throwing things at me, came behind the counter. I tried to run off, but he grabbed his hands around my neck, and pushed me out of the counter space, that’s when I pulled out my gun and I shot him.”

Thompson, who was struck by the bullet in his stomach, fled the scene and was later arrested after he called 9-1-1. He was charged with assault and battery, threatening acts of violence, attempting to pass a fake bill and a felony warrant for violating parole.
Police cleared Dilyard of any wrongdoing thanks to Oklahoma’s “Stand Your Ground” law protecting individuals who use force in self-defense.
The saga took a dark turn when 7-Eleven terminated the clerk on Monday for using her own gun.
“They said that they were going to separate from employment because of a violation of policy,” said Dilyard, who worked the overnight shift alone for more than two years.
“This was a situation where I felt like I was put into a corner between choosing between my job and my life, and I’m always going to choose my life because there’s people that depend on me. Just, I’m going, I’m going home, you know. I need to be here for my kids.”
“If I’d known that there’s a potential that somebody could be for real in taking my life away that I will do whatever it takes. I hope that women see that, and they’ll do the same thing. You have the right to defend yourself.”
7-Eleven has yet to provide comment on the incident.
A GoFundMe page has now been set up for Dilyard, as she went into further detail about her plight.
“As many already know, us overnight clerks are by ourselves. We have no security, and we are not allowed to carry self defense weapons, including mace,” she explained.
“However, working conditions, it was not realistic for me to be able to follow policy AND be able to go home to my kids if a situation happened. That’s is why I decided to carry in the first place.
“I never expected for me to be in this situation, but I did what I had to do to go home to my kids. I was a good employee, committed and determined, but in-between a rock and a hard place I had to make a quick decision – lose my life, or lose my job.
“If you can, anything helps my family and I while I take time to recover and look for another job. Whole reason I was working overnight in the first place was to save to buy a home and get out of the city, and now I want that more than ever. ”
Some online comments include:
“7-Eleven has a corporate policy prohibiting weapons of any kind. The policy applies to corporate stores and Franchisees. It is a sh*tty policy, but the Franchisees have to live with it. Employees can get another job, if the Franchisee looses the franchise, they have lost their livelihood.”
“Sadly, this kind of thing is not uncommon. A far better response from 7-11 would have been: ‘In light of this incident, we have reviewed our corporate policies & have decided to encourage employees to lawfully protect themselves. Employee & customer safety is our top priority.'”
“I’m sure they would have paid for her funeral had she followed the employee handbook.”
“7/11 wants their employees to let themselves be killed rather than defend themselves. Wtf @7eleven?! Give her her job back!!!”

WATCH: Epstein-tied Democrat in Congress digs even deeper hole for herself

Del. Stacey Plaskett, D-Virgin IslandsDemocratic Virgin Islands Delegate Stacey Plaskett, who collaborated with Jeffrey Epstein to attack President Donald Trump, openly admitted on Wednesday that she was willing to communicate with a known sex offender to damage Trump’s reputation.
The newly released records from Epstein’s estate revealed text exchanges between Plaskett and Epstein right before she was about to question former Trump attorney Michael Cohen during his February 2019 testimony before a congressional body. During an appearance on “The Situation Room,” Plaskett said that she set aside Epstein’s criminal past in order to “get information” about Trump.
“I believe that Jeffrey Epstein had information and I was going to get information to get at the truth,” Plaskett said. “Having a friendship with him is not something that I would deem to have. And so I’m just looking forward. I’m moving forward. And I think that that’s what we as American people should do is move forward. If individuals are not involved in illegal activity, it’s extending his criminal enterprise or his financial enterprise or all of those things. I think that we need to look at what people are doing moving forward.”
“Wait, let me just better understand that. What is that point? Because at the time he was a known sex offender and it had been detailed all the sexual abuse,” CNN host Pamela Brown asked.
Plaskett answered that Trump also could have committed a crime and she felt she had to obtain that information.

“There are a lot of people who have done a lot of crimes. And as a prosecutor, you get information from people where you can,” Plaskett said.
Epstein gave Plaskett information about the Trump Organization before her questioning began, including the name of longtime Trump aide Rhona Graff.
“RONA?? Quick I’m up next is that an acronym,” the text message read.
Epstein clarified, “Thats [sic] his assistant.”
Plaskett then pressed Cohen about Trump Organization personnel and brought Graff up by name. Epstein also complimented her outfit, asked whether she was chewing during a televised shot and about how long she planned to stay at the hearing.
Plaskett’s office said that the congresswoman received text messages from several people during that hearing, including “staff, constituents and the public at large.” The statement also emphasized her previous work on sexual assault and trafficking cases during her time as a prosecutor.
Epstein owned two private islands in the U.S. Virgin Islands and donated to a variety of politicians, including Plaskett, according to a Business Insider investigation. She initially did not plan to return the donations, but eventually did so due to political pressure.
A group of Republicans introduced a resolution on Wednesday to censure Plaskett for the text messages, though it failed in a 209 to 214 vote.

Peer-review process confirms validity of stunning study on transgender ‘treatments’

A messaging truck sponsored by Public AdvocateAnother scientific study, published at the direction of President Donald Trump, is breaking ground because now it’s been peer-reviewed, and the potential critics were unable to find anything significant to criticize in the results that found there’s almost zero medical evidence to support the agenda of putting chemicals in children, or offering them body-mutilating surgeries, when they claim to be transgender.
In a report from the New York Post, it was confirmed that the study, done by the Department of Health and Human Services after Trump issued an executive order that charged U.S. doctors with “maiming” teens with such treatment, was found by experts to have no significant failings or errors.
There were nearly a dozen critics who took on the job of commenting on the study’s findings, and none was able to identify a deficiency.
“They were given the chance to show mistakes, show errors. And they were not able to identify any,” Dr. Leor Sapir, a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute and one of the project researchers, confirmed in comments to the Post. “They had some minor comments here and there, but nothing that gets to the main findings about evidence and ethics.”
Sapir pointed out that includes a former president of the Endocrine Society, a group that has been a chief proponent of the radical treatments for children.
When the report first was released by Trump last summer, it charged that gender-affirming “treatment” must be brought to an end.
“The subsequent report found that many of the studies that proponents of gender-affirming care use to back their treatments were of ‘very low quality,’ and that little is really known about the long-term psychological and quality-of-life effects of treatment, along with how often patients regret about undertaking them. The report also noted the UK has banned the use of puberty blockers and other treatments for minors altogether,” according to the Post.
The report pointed out, “Exactly what the Trump administration will do with the report remains to be seen, but Sapir said he hopes that the medical community will take a step back from the culture war debate over gender-affirming care and look at the science. ‘Let’s reassess. At minimum, let’s allow for open debate. Let’s listen to dissenting perspectives. Let’s do rigorous analysis.'”

University of Notre Dame drops Catholic mission from staff values for more ‘global’ identity

The University of Notre Dame has dropped the school’s historic Catholic mission from its staff values and adopted a “refreshed” set of generic concepts like “community” instead, though it will still identify as a “Catholic research university.”
The Catholic school’s list of staff values previously included requiring that one “Understands, accepts, and supports the Catholic mission of the university and fosters values consistent with that mission.” Now, the list has been watered down into generic requirements that staff “treat every person with dignity and respect” and “work together.”
The list of values also previously demanded a “high moral standard” for staff members, a commitment to “the overall team objectives rather than own interests,” and consideration of “the common good.” Staff should be “widely trusted, respectful, and honorable” and remain “accountable for both how and what is accomplished,” Notre Dame previously believed.
Notre Dame did not respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.
The new values state simply that staff should have “a commitment to truth and service” and “embrace opportunities with creativity and dedication.” University vice president for human resources Heather Christophersen said the updated values “are an expression of how we seek to advance Notre Dame’s mission as a global, Catholic research university.”
Notre Dame announced the changes on Nov. 10 after university leadership discussed the school’s “response to the changing higher education environment.”
The university further backtracked on its Catholic values in February when a top academic officer said that hiring women and minorities is “equally important” to the school’s mission as hiring Catholics.
