Lovable Fans

During the height of the pandemic, I received my all time favorite fan email from Penny.

She wrote: “I’ve read book 1&2 can’t find book 3 any place. I am going crazy. Please help me!  Bad enough this shut down because of the Virus and no puzzles to be found anywhere. I finally find something I love and I’m left high and dry. I need book #3 and any after. Please help me. You are a very talented author. I read right through books 1&2. After I finish this series I’m looking forward to reading other books you have written….
“Peggy an Old Lady in Quarantine in Florida, USA. If I die before I get to finish this series (don’t worry, not planning on it) I’ll haunt you. You have a great talent.”

She was surprised when I answered her email to say Hi and thanks.

She was (is) still living when I finished the book, so no worries about my being haunted. Ha. Ha.

Penny read the book and she gave me 5 stars. It’s always good to hear from a fan. ;0)

Brainstorming

I was planning on finishing the first three plots of my six book series by the end of this month, but now I’m not so sure I’m going to make my goal. And it’s all Lisa’ fault.

Lisa and Mary reads my finished plots and make comments, usually about things I haven’t thought of, and which often inspires me to do more writing or rewriting.

I emailed Lisa an 18-page plot.

Lisa emailed back with only one question. I politely said I was not going to deal with that issue because it was only background information to prove a character’s nature.

“But . . .,” her next email said.

“No,” I said. “I don’t want to deal with it.”

When we met on Zoom, I’d had time to think and I said, “Okay, let’s talk.”

By the time we were finished brainstorming, I had a whole new subplot to add to the story. Now, I have to plot the idea and filter the new subplot throughout the six books, which will make the story far more interesting.

One cannot write along. Or maybe I should say, one should never write alone. Authors can become so focused on their story they can have tunnel vision and miss a great idea. Where as, a beta reader might say something that inspires the author into greatness.

Thank you, Mary and Lisa for your impute and for inspiring me to write a better story.

Lost and Found

A friend gave me a $50 gift certificate from an art store for my birthday—she gave it to me years ago, pre-covid. I put it in my wallet and forgot about it, until the other day when I was looking for something in my wallet. Wondering what it was, I pulled it out and to my surprise, I found the card and I went shopping.

After which I texted my friend to show her what I bought. Then I called her and we made plans to get together with another friend for lunch. I called the other friend, who said yes to lunch.

It was a good day. Lunch is in two weeks.

My Brain Does Not Move in a Straight Line

All weekend, I planned to reread the third plot of my 6 book series and make a few changes. Then I’d have the first three plots reasonably finished and I could work on the next three plots.

But Monday morning come and my brain was working on the end of the last book in the series. I barely have an outline for the 6th book.

My brain didn’t care. It kept moving forward with ideas. I had no choice but to follow along.

I now have an outline for the last four chapters of the last book in the series, which changes the first and second books, and will affect the third book. So now I’m reworking and rearranging parts of the first three plots.

Which is making the story far more interesting. ;0)

People of Akiane Trilogy is Finished

My trilogy is finished and published on all things Amazon. It’s already getting good ratings.

Here is an excerpt, from the beginning of the book Jessica’s Mission.

It was to be Earth’s greatest achievement, establishing the first galactic colony in the Pegasus Constellation. Using folded space technology, World Space Coalition sent three spaceships, WSC Eagle, WSC Hawk, and WSC Falcon, to transport a total of 2,035 settlers to their new home planet, Akiane. More ships were scheduled to bring a continual supply of goods to help support the settlers until they were well established on the new planet.

Twelve years on a spaceship seemed an eternity. Children born on the ship had never felt a star’s warmth, seen blue sky, or run barefoot in the grass or jumped in a puddle of water. They’d never played with their own kitten or puppy.

Parents were looking forward to introducing their children to all these things.

They were not expecting what came next.

I’ve been on Goodreads for a long while but have neglected it. No longer. I have revived my account. If you’re on Goodreads, look me up. Just make sure it’s me. There is more than one Phyllis Moore author.

Miss Me? I’m back!

Happy New Year to All

I’ve been away for a bit. I’m sure a few of you have wondered what happened to me. I had a set back with Adrenal Fatigue. I decided to concentrate on recovery and finish the third book in my trilogy. I didn’t succeed in either, but I’m well on my way to victory in both.

Jessica’s Mission update: The third book is getting ever closer to being finished. The last person to proof my manuscript usually has very little to proof or say. This time around, she had some great suggestions about the beginning of the story. Therefore I’ve been rewriting.

I wasn’t supposed to get the manuscript back until after New Years. But my proofread returned it to me before Christmas, which gave me a good start and rewriting and making proofing corrections.

I sincerely hope everyone is safe and healthy. I’ll be visiting many of your blogs in the next few days.

Cee’s B&W Photo Challenge: Bond of Friendship

This week Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge topic is Pets and Farm Animals. I chose pets.

Met this couple at the park and talked a bit. A few minuets later I saw them sitting together. I asked if I could take their picture and post it on my blog. He said yes.

He liked the photo, so I texted it to him.

The dog is a combination of pit bull and bull dog. He was a sweetie.

Sunday Photo fiction: Instagram

Travis wanted to be a model. Billy wanted to be a professional photography.

Together, they decided to make a portfolio of photographs.

They posted the photos on Instagram and went viral.

Travis never did become a model. Billy never became a professional photographer. But they had such a following that major companies hired them to endorse their products.

Travis and Billy become stinking rich.

Sunday Photo Fiction is hosted by Donna. Each week she posts a photograph to inspire authors to write flash fiction. Go to her page to read more stories.
