Plot, Play, & Pray 2022
I returned yesterday from our annual Plot, Play, & Pray retreat in beautiful northern Idaho. We were smaller than normal. There are eleven of us in this wonderful fellowship, but five of them were missing due to a number of issues. They were missed so very much.
Still, despite our reduced size, we managed to brainstorm seven books (two of them via Zoom with absent sisters).
And the Lord was ever faithful, drawing us to His word and into sweet times of prayer and praise.
I led the mornin...

Reading Update
2022 is almost half over, so I thought it was time for a reading update.
This is my tenth year to participate in the Goodreads Reading Challenge (2013 was my first year). Tracking my reading in Goodreads has not only helped me read more books, but I am better about reviewing them, too. As a bonus, reviewing helps me remember what I liked or disliked about a book.
Today, I finished reading my 60th book of this year. Out of all of my Goodreads challenges, my best year to date has been 2020 w...

Content on Kindle pages
Amazon offers authors and publishers (as well as other sellers on their products) the ability to add additional content (mostly graphics) to a book’s Kindle page. This is something fairly new. Within the past couple of years, I think (but time is still somewhat foggy for me due to pandemic stuff).
To see this additional content on a desktop, a visitor to a book page must scroll down past the cover and description and then past the Products Related to This Item section. On a mobile device, thi...

Every Book Has Its Own Journey

Today, my latest novel arrived online and in bookstores. I’ll Be Seeing You is my 86th release. (To learn more about the story, visit the book page.)
As the title of this post says, every book has its own journey. The journey of I’ll Be Seeing You was bumpy, the kind of journey that can leave a writer feeling “less than.”
The lockdowns of 2020 had a starring role in some important miscommunication, and when I turned in the novel in early 2021, it wasn’t what my editor had expected. She...

Catching Katie is Free Today
While I can’t name a favorite book among the novels I’ve written (different books are special to me for different reasons), I do have a few favorite characters and/or couples. Among my favorite couples are Katie and Ben from Catching Katie. As I wrote, I envisioned Katie as a dust devil swirling down the street, leaving a mess behind her, and Ben was the guy with the huge push-broom, following in her wake, cleaning up after her. I so enjoyed watching them fall in love.
The book won the Carol ...
