Happy St. Patrick’s Day
I am, indeed, Irish. At least a little. That’s from my maternal grandmother’s side of the family. My great-grandmother’s maiden name was Mary Emeline Malone. Doesn’t the name roll off the tongue complete with an Irish accent? I love it so much that I named the heroine of In His Arms for her. (I know I’ve shared that more than once in this blog but there it is again.)

Memory Lane giveaway
My good friend, Becky Wade, has a new book out on Valentine’s Day. To help celebrate, I’m giving away an autographed copy here on my blog to one lucky US winner.
Here’s a peek at the plot of Memory Lane….
After surviving a trauma several years back, Remy Reed relocated to a cottage on one of Maine’s most remote islands. She’s arranged her life just the way she wants it, spending her time working on her wood sculptures and soaking in the beauty of nature. It’s quiet and solitary—until the d...

A Long Time Coming
As an author, I don’t have favorites among my own books. Each was written for a reason, and each is special to me in its own unique way. I will confess, however, to having some favorite characters from my books.
One of my favorite couples is Cleo and Sherwood from Fit To Be Tied (2009). I adore feisty Cleo, and I love “watching” her try to turn a British nobleman (recovering from wounds suffered in WWI) into a cowboy. The whole story had a fun dynamic that just wouldn’t leave me.
In 2009,...

Epiphany
Today, January 6, is Epiphany, an important day on the Christian calendar. It is a Christian feast day that celebrates the revelation of God the Son as a human being in Jesus Christ. Western Christians commemorate principally (but not solely) the visitation of the Biblical Magi to the Baby Jesus, and thus Jesus’ physical manifestation to the Gentiles.
Of course, another definition for the word epiphany is “a moment of sudden revelation or insight.” And I suppose it’s a good way to describe th...

2022: A Banner Reading Year
For the past ten years, I’ve tracked my reading by participating in the Goodreads Reading Challenges. In addition to helping me remember to “write down” the books I’ve read, it’s helped me to rank those books more consistently as well as to write reviews. I hope my reviews help the people who follow me on Goodreads, but mostly they are reminders to myself of what I liked about the books.
In 2022, my goal was to read 36 books, but thanks to audiobooks via Audible, Hoopla (which I only got to u...

Merry Christmas
Today is Christmas Eve, tomorrow is Christmas. The faithful world over will pause this weekend to celebrate the first coming of the King, Jesus the Messiah.
Many of us have nativity sets in our home for this season. Many of us envision that the night of Christ’s birth looked something like this graphic.
But as I have studied the Scriptures through a Middle Eastern lens in recent years, I have learned that there is a lot wrong with this picture, beginning with the location. Jesus wasn’...
