IFI's Higgins again compares gays to thieves, substance abusers, plagiarists

Speaking on the subject of initiatives geared toward curbing the very real and undeniable problem of anti-LGBT bullying in public schools, Illinois Family Institute senior researcher Laurie Higgins contributes this little nugget:

"They wouldn’t have anyone come into a school; they wouldn’t show films, have skits or activities in which there are theft, plagiarism, promiscuity, substance abuse, kids called names like druggie,” she says. “In order to eradicate bullying, you wouldn’t have them com...

Iowa's top voice of anti-LGBT hostility writes book, 'If 7:14;' might be persuasive, if 1952

Bob Vander Plaats, the leading voice of inequality in the state of Iowa, will soon release a book all about how bad things supposedly are and how evangelicals need to save us all from ourselves:

The title comes from 2 Chronicles 7:14, which calls for people to "turn from their wicked ways" so that God will heal the land. So clearly you can expect a rational and nuanced take on earthly politics.

Remember when NOM used to pretend to be nonpartisan?

In a fundraising pitch in which they yet again go after those darn activist courts and their dutiful tests to ensure the constitutionality of laws, NOM blames "the left" for all of its woes:

Not a huge surprise to see NOM becoming more partisan. After all, its president runs a side project called Act Right. Also, the org. came out for the GOP in a major way in the 2012 cycle (and lost in a big way too). The cat (or elephant, as it were) is kind of out of the bag.

But it's such a tremend...

Video: IFI documents its year of standing on street corners yelling for discrimination

My 2013 history of the IFI would include their references to homosexuality being an "infamous crime;" its president's claim that same-sex marriage is "blatantly blasphemous to nature, let alone God" (and much more); the organization's reliance on an "ex-gay" who routinely blames Satan for causing homosexuality; the claim that same-sex parenting is a form of child abuse; and the whole host of nasty comments that have come for the organization's senior researcher, Laurie Higgins. But they mostl...

Video: The Duggars tour for rabidly anti-gay Ken Cuccinelli, E.W. Jackson

The proudly anti-LGBT Family Research Council (which employes Josh Duggar) brings us this video of the reality TV family that the mainstream media loves to portray as an apolitical feel good story:

Firsthand report: NOM branded pens not as popular as they once were

Bwuaf9Figaauu7CHaving weathered the Values Voter Summit in person, John Becker brings back this humorous anecdote:

The Values Voter Summit was winding down, and some of the vendors had begun to pack up their tables. The organization that was the most completely packed up and ready to leave happened to be the one I was most interested in scoping out: the National Organization for Marriage.

Undaunted, I approached the table and greeted a female staffer, one of three standing around next to the plastic tubs of m...

Video: Bryan Fischer thanks Fox News for being so friendly to the AFA

Bryan Fischer, one of the most jaw-droppingly anti-LGBT figures at the exceedingly anti-LGBT American Family Association, is thanking Fox News for giving free spin time to anti-LGBT commentators like Sandy Rios and Todd Starnes This all part of the AFA's new attempt to "prove" it's not an animus-driven group by attacking and smearing their critics rather than defending the astoundingly anti-LGBT things they've said and done.

But then stick around for a caller who points out the obvious, which...
