We agree, Illinois protestor—civil unions are not sustainable!
This guy was front and center throughout yesterday's "Defend Marriage" lobby day in Springfield, Illinois:
Well, I don't know if I'd say God abhors them, per se. But I do know that civil unions surely aren't the best way for a good state to confer rights and benefits. So yeah, I guess I agree—the state legislature needs to "repent" for its past vote on this less-than-equal system and go ahead and vote in the full enchilada that is marriage equality!
Thanks for helping us making thi...

Illinois activists still relying on Linda 'homosexuality is Satan's plan' Jernigan
Buzzfeed's Tony Merevick sends this shot from the Illinois Family Institute's state Capitol rally against marriage equality
That would be the same Linda Jernigan who says Satan has stolen gay people's identity, that gays have to be inebriated in order to be romantic, and that the LGBT rights movement is "a demonic force from hell to stop the movement of God" (and much more).
But we're supposed to believe that the IFI is going to stop at just our marriage rights? Riiiiiiiiiiiight.

Audio: WND's David Kupelian compares six-year-old trans kid to Halloween ghoul
Grown adult David Kupelian is getting an early start on Halloween. Not by buying candy or hanging a big ghost on his house, mind you. No, no—the WND publisher is instead comparing the proper care, respect, and protection of a six-year-old kid to "child abuse," and comparing the child's reality to Halloween "ghoulishness":

So let's see here: The trans kid has the support of all credible outlets of medical science; Kupelian's stance has the backing of some of the...
AFA president says gay activism is 'an evil conspiracy'
Responding to Southern Baptist Convention spokesman Russell Moore's claim that gays are not the enemy and that people on his side should simmer down a bit, American Family Association president Tim Wildmon looks him right and the eye and says, "yeah, no thanks." In fact, Wilmon insists that we LGBT activists are, in fact, engaged in "an evil conspiracy":
"[Moore] says to Baptists, 'Love your gay and lesbian neighbors.' Nobody has a problem with that,” the AFA leader said on AFR. “Then he says...
Video: Anti-gay IL pastor compares gay parents to 'five-year-olds who think they can drive cars'
The first thing that annoys me about this clip is the reporter's acceptance of anti-gay side's loaded terminology, "protect traditional marriage." But then stick around until the 2:00 mark, when a local pastor compares gay parents like me to "five-year-olds who think they can drive cars":
Of course these folks will be rallying alongside one of the most overtly hostile organizations working in any of our states. Being compared to a reckless toddler with road rage might be tame compar...
IFI to IL Gov: Gays must 'flee immorality'
In a few hours from the time I write this, the extremely extreme Illinois Family Institute will gather at the state Capitol in Springfield to lobby legislators to vote against civil marriage equality. And they will be doing this because of their personal faith opinion about "immoral" gays and our supposed "abuse of His image":
Pulling stuff from the bible and using it to clobber our modern society? Ooh, ooh—I want to play this game!
You know what else 1 Corinthians considers to be abuse, IFI? W...

Tony Perkins: Pro-LGBT National Cathedral Dean is encouraging 'those who do evil'
Rev. Gary Hall (pic.), the Dean of Washington's National Cathedral, recently came out against groups like the Family Research Council and voices like Tony Perkins, noting the obvious threat that their homo hostility poses to LGBT people (and to LGBT youth in particular). With such powerful public notice coming from such a prominent platform, obviously the animus-throated Tony is on the defensive.
Tony's answer is to call Rev. Hall a false prophet—someone who will "encourage those who do evil,...
The bill is non-controversial; so here, let Focus on the Family needlessly inject some
Here is the perfect example of "pro-family" obsession with us. After five grafs about a non-controversial adoption bill that just made its way through the California legislature, Focus on the Family hands a quote slot to in-house analyst Carrie Gordon Earll. Here is what Ms. Earll contributes to the conversation:
“Gov. Brown signed a good, non-controversial bill here,” said Carrie Gordon Earll, senior director of Public Policy for Focus on the Family. “However, that doesn’t negate his long his...
