Shorter NOM: We know we've lost Jersey
Those pesky "activist judges" and their learned application of law:
"It is extremely disappointing that the New Jersey Supreme Court has allowed the ruling of an activist judge to stand pending its appeal through the court system. The definition of marriage is something that should be decided by the people of New Jersey themselves, not by any judge or court. New Jerseyans should have the right to vote on this issue just as voters in nearly three dozen other states have done. In addition, the d...
Monday: New Jersey to boldly join every state to its north and south
The state Supreme Court will not stand in the way. Starting Monday (10/21), Garden State same-sex couples will be free to marry:
New Jersey Supreme Court Denies Stay, Marriage Equality To Begin Monday [Buzzfeed]
New Jersey's always been such an annoying case in the larger marriage conversation. The state should have had marriage years ago, with its legislature opting to implement civil unions instead. Then there was that passed bill bumping civil unions to marriage, which Republican governor Ch...
Man who says LGBT equality is 'anti-God' defends org that says to treat gays like drug addicts
For some reason, one of the most anti-LGBT people in the nation thinks he has the capital to defend the "not anti-LGBT" reputation of one of America's most anti-LGBT orgs:
“The idea of labeling American Family Association – which is made up of a bunch of Christians who love homosexuals enough to tell them the truth that they can leave the lifestyle – the idea that they're a hate group just made me mad as an American."
—Peter LaBarbera
Oh please, Pete. You can call the AFA "chicken soup," if tha...
Well at least NOM's staying measured, rational, and reasoned
The latest from the increasingly desperate special interest:
Weird, they left the letters "D-I-S-C-R-I-M-I" off the first part of the seventh word. Must be a typo.

Ryan T. Anderson continues to prove his plan doesn't end at marriage
If you follow the marriage debate, you're surely familiar with the Heritage Foundation's Ryan T. Anderson. Over the past year or so, the far right has exalted Anderson, who is a protege of NOM cofounder Robert George, into a place of prominence. He's sort of the leader of the tiny "young people opposed to marriage" contingent that the anti-LGBT movement is desperate to portray as sizable.
But as I've shown you in the past, Ryan Anderson is not someone who just stops at marriage rights. He is s...
Video: Rick Santorum determined to define his legacy with histrionic homo hostility
A hit maker likes to stick with his or her greatest hits, so it's not like I'm shocked to hear former US Senator and presidential also-ran Rick Santorum continuing to obsess over LGBT people, our lives, our loves, and protections. But it notable that he's now claiming marriage equality is going to completely destroy all that is America:
Saying that "Christians are the most tolerant people in the world," Santorum claimed that Christian opposition to gay marriage is no longer being tolerated and...

Video: Values Voter Summit young people offered empty calories. Oh, and pizza, too
Here's a clip of the "young people should learn to discriminate against gay taxpayers" pizza party that was recently held at the exceedingly anti-gay Family Research Council's decidedly anti-gay Values Voter Summit. Featured speakers were Ryan "I've admitted I want gays to be chaste" Anderson and Peter "I'd prefer to export homosexuals from the United States (direct quote)" Sprigg.
After the brief clip, you can stick around for a really boring interview featuring Anderson and Damon Owens, who...
Video: Mr. 'Ex-gay' America
Trace McNutt won Voice of the Voiceless' "Ex-Gay of the Year" award. I'm not sure what he did for talent for evening wear, but I can now show the interview portion of the competition:

NOM, backer of many who literally shutdown govt. functions, preaches to us about nation's functioning
Marriages like mine threaten our nation's functioning. Thus goes the latest claim of an increasingly desperate operation:
[NOM]
Of course the entire premise is wrong, as marriage equality does not "destroy the marriage culture." But what else would we expect from an organization that counts the English language among its many targets of destruction.

Oregon gays get legally-binding (*destination) weddings
Our inevitable victory is a patchwork, not an avalanche. Here's another piece:
OREGON: State Orders Agencies To Recognize Out-Of-State Gay Marriages [J.M.G.]
For Oregon gays, this means the ability to go get married in another state (like nearby Washington or California) and then return home to full recognition, but for Oregon state's coffers, it means exporting all of the joy and commerce associated with the weddings. What kind of sense is there in that?
Answer: no sense at all. Oregon will go...
