Video: Matt Barber's website backs 'blasphemy laws' against @BillMaher
I swear Liberty Counsel's most anti-LGBT voice (and that's saying something), Matt Barber, launched his new website, Barbwire.com, as a stealth effort to drain the far-right conservatives of political pragmatism. Latest example: an exclusive video where a contributor advocates for laws that would imprison Bill Maher for voicing skepticism toward the Noah story:

New poll shows evangelical Americans real-world effects of handing keys to extremists
I've used the sitcom test before, but it seems like a fitting time to do it again. Take characters like Mitch and Cam from Modern Family and replace them with the equivalent of a Tony Perkins or a Bryan Fischer from the evangelical America. The story lines wouldn't be as sympathetic, would they? The plots wouldn't be as light and friendly, right? Because the reality is that the characters and their differentiated goals (e.g. planning a wedding versus attacking them; raising a daughter versus...
Chick-fil-A CEO's exit from culture war politics 'no less a blow...than the betrayal of Benedict Arnold in the Revolutionary War'
Remember the days when anti-LGBT activists were eating their weight in fried chicken sandwiches, thinking that silly stunt to put more money in rich people's pockets was actually some purposeful political act? Yeah, well—that bun-based ship sure has sailed! Nowadays, anti-LGBT activists like Scott Lively are eschewing the waffle fries and instead calling on Chick-fil-A head Dan Cathy (aka Benedict Arnold) to "repent of his sin":
Since then there have been many attacks, the most recent (before...
Even top Southern Baptist Convention official knows marriage equality is inevitable
When Bryan Fischer tweets something like this...
...my ears certainly perk up. Sure enough, the development is a fascinating one:
Indeed, at another point in his remarks, [Russell Moore, the president of the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention] noted that evangelicals are "beginning to realize that American culture is moving toward same-sex marriage."
"We have been saying, 'Look, same-sex marriage is inevitable in American culture," Moore continued. "It doesn...
Positive federal move in Michigan marriage limbo
Good news for those 300+ Michigan same-sex couples who were able to sneak through the window and get married before a federal court's pro-equality decision was stayed on appeal:
BREAKING: Obama admin to recognize Michigan same-sex marriages [Wash Blade]
Oddly, these couples still do not get state benefits, even though their marriages are recognized. It's all part of that fun game known as "how married are we?" that so many same-sex married couples have had to play in the days following their nu...
WND publisher says 'God is truly the enemy' of pro-gay President Obama #tcot
No media outlet has done more to attack President Obama, his family, his character, his birth, his heart, his motivation, and everything else about his president than WND (formerly WorldNetDaily). That trend now continues, with WND publisher Joseph Farah coming right out and pitting God and our American president:
Obama has placed his ideological passion for abortion and homosexuality above freedom of religion.
But it’s more than that.
I believe Obama and the agenda he personifies have used abor...
Video: Focus on the Family frames LGBT acceptance, harsh attack as equal 'extremes'
I've vowed to mostly ignore this year's edition of Focus on the Family's annual Day of Dialogue, since that is pretty much how the world treats it. This "ex-gay"-encouraging day, which is all spun through that "nice"-sounding filter that the Jim Daly era of Focus on the Family thinks fools us into believing the organization is nicer and softer, gets virtually no attention from press, activists on either side, or, most importantly, students. I see no reason to waste more breath against it.

FRC prays for World Vision's 'repentance'
The in-ever-way-anti-gay Family Research Council isn't satisfied with Christian charity World Vision simply going back on its word and testifying to the world that discrimination against certain kinds of Christians is a fine and even good thing. No, no—FRC is praying for World Vision's "repentance" too:
This coming from an organization whose senior staffers claim that gay people are controlled by "their malevolent master the devil," that marriage equality is "evil," th...

Emboldened anti-gay activist: World Vision now must fire senior leadership
The anti-LGBT crowd sure is feeling self-satisfied, thanks to their ability to pressure Christian charity World Vision into embracing their hostility towards certain kinds of human beings. And now that World Vision has slapped all LGBT and LGBT-friendly supporters in the face (and alienated potential supporters) by sending the message that decent treatment of certain kinds of Christians in certain kinds of marriages is something on which an organization can and should renege, this same crowd...
