Just in time for Passover, American Family Association's Fischer post sixteen tweets (for now) blaming gays for Holocaust

Here now, the American Family Association's senior issues analyst cites one of the most anti-LGBT men in America (and Uganda) to push wholly discredited theories about gay people fostering a genocide that targeted them as well:

But hey, it's not like potential 2016 presidential candidates go on his show or anything...

Oh.

*Lest you think it's confined to one anti-LGBT group, Liberty Counsel/Liberty University's Matt Barber is also promoting Scott Lively's lies today. In fact, in the column that...

Why modern marriage discrimination is nothing—NOTHING! HOW DARE YOU? I'M 'PROTECTING SOCIETY!'—like its closest predecessor

Congressman John Lewis is Black. John Lewis was married for forty-four years (wife Lillian passed away in 2012). John Lewis was one the biggest civil rights leaders of the 1960s. Congressman Lewis marched, fought, and bled for the cause.

This is what Congressman Lewis has to say on the subject of marriage and related discrimination:

Just when you think the Family Research Council can't get more deceptive...

Check out this completely deceptive nonsense. In its writeup on the Firefox story, the Family Research Council (in words attributed to president Tony Perkins and "the aid of FRC senior writers) writes the following about the Mozilla situation, quoting progressive writer Michelle Goldberg to make a point:

With [Brendan] Eich, the pendulum has swung so far that activists may actually be alienating the base it claims to represent. "Call it left-wing anti-liberalism," writes the far-Left's Michell...

With call to boycott Firefox, NOM becomes first/only LGBT-focused group (on either side) to make this call

Despite what the company itself has to say about Mr. Eich's choice to resign....

...many conservatives are hellbent on claiming that LGBT groups like GLAAD and the Human Rights Campaign forced Mozilla to fire their CEO, that these same groups were calling for boycotts, etc. Glenn Beck even said that LGBT groups are becoming terrorists. Because that's the state of our political debate, circa 2014.

But the truth is that there is only one LGBT-focused organization throughout this entire th...

Video: Liberty Counsel's latest 'protect marriage' ad is just lazy

I've seen my share of ads about matrimony and the supposed harms that committed married people like me supposedly pose to it. This new one from Liberty Counsel is notable to me for one thing: it's frigging boring.

Here's the clip:

[h/t J.M.G.]

Generic video clips with even more generic fear text? This is the lazy ad of a weary movement. There's no ask, no new information, and no reason for anyone to give a damn. It's just like, "Yeah, yeah, yeah—marriage. Protect it. Whatever."

We've so won this...

Brian Brown: How dare someone trained to understand law put his opinion above a popularity contest?

NOM's keyboards are surely tired of writing "condemn" or one of its synonyms:

So tell me, Brian: Which of our past "considered judgments of the people of America" would you put above the judges that stepped in and did the right thing? Our history is littered with options. And in many of those past cases, public opinion was far, far below where it is on marriage equality (59% approval in latest polls).

'Gay agenda' dances into Liberty University's artistic mission; good job, team

Liberty University's Alluvion Stage Company list one of its key objectives as being "To uphold and execute the mission of Liberty University through theatrical arts." So it is interesting to see that this school, which has a decidedly and undeniably anti-LGBT mission, is ticking off evangelical news sites for apparently bringing a gay man and his vision into the mission fold :

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Liberty University, considered the world’s largest Christian university, has hired an open homosexual...

Liberty Counsel spokesman claims LGBT activists want Christians dead

And now these loving Christian claims (and graphic) from Liberty Counsel/ Liberty University's Matt Barber:

Lgbthitler
Christians, buckle up. Your whole world is about to change. The Rainbowshirts are emboldened and they’ve broken out the long knives.

...

They smell blood in the water. I’ve often said that these folks want those who speak Biblical truth about human sexuality and legitimate marriage either 1) dead, 2) imprisoned or, if they can have neither of these, 3) marginalized to the point where they...
