GOP in Nevada's most populous county stops placing bets on marriage discrimination
Republicans in the Las Vegas, NV, area are giving social conservatives nationwide a first taste—an amuse-bouche, if you will—of what they can all expect in a few short years:
Marriage definition pulled from Clark County GOP platform [AP via Las Vegas Sun]
This move comes in the same month that the Oregon GOP voted to actively support marriage equality, and of course the same year that monumental change has swept this land from coast to coast. Might this be the same decade that the Grand Old Par...
Mark Regnerus will never learn
As you likely know, a federal court recently smacked down Mark Regnerus' conservative-fueled "research," with the (Reagan-appointed) judge pointedly declaring his supposed findings on same-sex parenting to be "entirely unbelievable and not worthy of serious consideration." That was much deserved, considering how flatly terrible Mr. Regnerus' "study" truly is and how obvious its (and its researcher's) political/religious motivations.
But continuing his trend of shooting his own reputation in th...
NOM's two cofounders: 'BOYCOTT MOZILLA!' versus 'How dare people boycott Mozilla?!'
From the Facebook page of National Organization for Marriage co-founder Robert George:
From the blog of National Organization For Marriage co-founder Maggie Gallagher:
Does a commitment to diversity and inclusiveness include people who oppose gay marriage? Not to many who are unequivocally insisting new Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich endorse gay marriage or be fired.

Eich gave money to the Proposition 8 campaign and now joins a growing number of people who face threats to their liveli...
Video: The reliable myopia of an unmarried, childless marriage and parenting 'expert'
I've always considered the far-right's myopic attacks on LGBT-headed families to be among the nastiness, but things took an obvious turn for me in the latter part of last year. When I became a parent, every word that the usual anti-LGBT suspects unleash upon LGBT families in order to support their discrimination started landing in new and unexpected ways. What was once politically outrageous became so fully personal. And even though I always knew that their simplistic takes sounded like utter...
Liberty Counsel continues penchant for inciting 'revolution'
While they share common attack lines, most of the prominent anti-LGBT spokes folks stand out to me for certain niches that they feel. For Liberty Counsel's Mat Staver, it happens to be his seeming attempts to lead us to revolutionary war. On multiple occasions, the popular conservative attorney and pundit (he was on Huckabee just this past weekend) has suggested that the rise of marriage equality should lead opponents to rise up and fight “another American Revolution.” Elaborating on this cal...

At long last, a new ad for Uganda tourist board's 'Brute Suppression of a Minority Population' package
Some supporters carried signs reading "Homosexuality = AIDS 100%," the crowds sang a song called "Bye-Bye Homosexuality," and the president at the head of the rally spurred on the crowd with the line, "Oral sex! The mouth is for eating, it's not for that purpose." It was just another glimpse into what rabid homo-hostility looks like if allowed to spiral out of control:

NOM versus tolerance
In a 2013 CNN appearance, megapastor Rick Warren—who, I should remind you, has directly compared homosexuality to incest or pedophilia, has likened the gay "struggle" to anger or having multiple sexual partners, and has bizarrely mentioned both arsenic and punching a guy in the nose in the same breath as same-sex marriage—accused LGBT activists of engaging in some sort of Orwellian doublespeak when we talk about tolerance for LGBT. Today, that quip becomes the latest basis for an increasingly...
FRC's 'National Campaign In Defense of Natural Marriage' was a laughable disaster; so let's laugh: ha, ha, ha, ha...
Last night, right after 8PM ET, the ever-deceptive Family Research Council sent out a last minute e-blast in support of its rabidly anti-LGBT "National Campaign in Defense of Marriage." In that last-ditch blast, FRC claimed it needed 83,000+ signatures before midnight in order to make its goal of 250,000:

Only thing? When FRC staff (email is attributed to president Tony Perkins) said they needed "more than 83,000," it seems that the operative words there were "mor...
More from the rabidly anti-LGBT mindset that now owns World Vision's messaging
Ever since Christian charity World Vision reversed itself and told the world that discrimination against certain kinds of Christians (i.e. married, gay Christians) is perfectly okay, I've shown you several examples of anti-LGBT conservatives feeling all kinds of cocky, most of them demanding the firing of the charity's senior staff. In this latest one, anti-gay pastor Don Boys goes even one step further, equating World Vision's current incarnation as so untrustworthy that they can be fittingl...
